Harry’s attention had wandered back onto the street as he waited, not very familiar with this area of London, and barely having stepped foot on the street at all the last time he was around. If they were different, maybe it was worth exploring, but as soon as Malfoy’s voice carried from the speakers, Harry had already forgotten any thoughts of pubs or restaurants.
“Hey,” Harry greeted, instinctively leaning closer to the intercom. A smile was already pulling at his lips, a boyish anticipation flushing through him, only for his eyes to flicker across the panel, looking for any signs of a camera.
Regardless of whether or not Malfoy could see him, Harry didn’t consider introducing himself, finding themselves way past that being necessary. “Care for company?”

Having not expected anyone, Draco really should have known that there was only one person who would be ringing his doorbell without a prior warning, however he was still not prepared for the sound of Potter’s voice crackling through his intercom.
Despite having invited Potter to his home once before, Draco was still surprised that he had managed to find his way back to his flat again. Potter had to have either remembered from last time or, far more likely, had to have gone through confidential ministry files to dig it up.
Surprisingly, Draco really didn’t mind and in a lieu of a reply he simply pressed the buzzer to let Potter in.

Though Malfoy didn’t speak, the sound of the door unlocking spoke volumes, a complete sentence in and of itself. It made Harry’s grin widen, the implications sending a thrill down his spine.
Morally, he had had no objections to seeking out Malfoy, but being here had always carried a question larger than simply whether or not Malfoy felt like seeing him tonight.
Pushing the door open and heading up the stairs, it was hard not to notice that this marked a definite change between them.

Considering their last encounter, Draco couldn’t deny the thrill he felt from Potter actively seeking him out.
He hadn’t been under any illusion that Potter wasn’t interested in him last time, but with the fiancée being present it was difficult to act on it. Still, it was nice to get confirmation on the matter, knowing that what they had going on was still weird and undefined.
Deciding against waiting by the door, unwilling to seem too eager, Draco simply unlocked it and opened it slightly before making his way back to his kitchen and the cigarette he had been smoking when the door buzzed.

The sight of Malfoy’s door, ajar but empty, sent a thrill down Harry’s spine, forcibly faced with the appeal of Malfoy’s blatant disinterest in him, regardless of whether or not it was simply put on for show. Growing increasingly familiar with the tug of Malfoy’s felix felicis at the very base of his throat, Harry had some understanding that they both wanted him to be here, a thrilling reminder.
“Am I interrupting something?” Harry asked as he pushed the door open, the tease just on the side of being mocking. He hadn’t come to know Malfoy as someone particularly social, and the empty and quiet flat only confirmed it.
Harry’s attention narrowed on Malfoy at his kitchen, smile widening involuntarily, boyish. “You look busy.”

Seeing Potter enter his flat sent a thrill down Draco’s spine, feeling pleased that Potter would go out of his way to seek him out like this, even if he probably shouldn’t be.
“Terribly busy yes,” he stated in a casual voice, as he leaned against the kitchen counter, his cigarette almost down to the filter, but still he took the last drag before killing it in his ashtray.
It was the first time Draco had seen Potter out of some type of uniform, and it would have been jarring had he not looked so natural about it. It drove Draco crazy.
“How’d you even find my address?”

Harry’s eyes had followed the trajectory of the cigarette bud, before returning to Malfoy’s face at the question. It made Harry’s smile grow crooked, boyish and shameless.
“I looked it up,” he shrugged, figuring the specifics were irrelevant, despite doubting Malfoy would mind the truth.
In the grand scheme of things, this wasn’t the first time Harry had kept tabs on Malfoy’s whereabouts, desensitised to the implications. To Harry, this was so alike looking for Malfoy’s name on the Map, though to be fair, Malfoy hadn’t consented to either thing.
Are you busy?” he instead repeated, glancing around the room trying to gauge what Malfoy had been doing before Harry had rung the doorbell; he couldn’t even picture Malfoy sitting on his sofa.

Draco knew that it had to have been a lot more work than simply “looking it up”, however, the fact that Potter had even went through the effort was enough to make Draco’s defences drop. He wanted Potter more than he could remember wanting anyone else before and as long as Potter kept seeking him out as well he had a hard time ever seeing that end.
“Well, I did just get an unannounced guest, so I guess I better entertain him,” Draco stated with a shrug as he circled the counter, moving closer to Potter with a slight smirk on his face.

Harry's eyes returned to Malfoy as he moved. His stomach swooped with anticipation as Malfoy peeled himself away from the counter, making him realise it was probably for the better that he hadn't been waiting for him at the door.
Watching him move closer with great attention, Harry considered if it was worth it to play coy or even play along, pretending that this was simply a social call. He figured it was useless, though, aware of the fact that his expression betrayed him.
"Really?" he said, but the air between them was too charged to properly sound conversational, Harry's smile growing wider as he said it, pleased.

There was something refreshing and juvenile about how easy things were with Potter, such a blatant display of desire served up with nothing much more to it.
Draco simply hummed as an answer as he closed the last space between them, tangling his fingers into Potter’s hair in the back of his neck so he could use it as a leverage point to tip his head backwards.
“Really,” he stated as he leant down and kissed him.

Harry felt Malfoy’s grip around his hair all the way down his spine, validated. He placidly let Malfoy pull his head back, a grin on his lips before stretching to meet the kiss halfway.
While looking up Malfoy’s address had been a conscious decision, Harry had done so days ago, just to have; an old habit of collecting information about Malfoy without any explicit need or use.
In contrast, coming here had been a split-second decision. No part of him had expected rejection, but it felt particularly telling tonight, given how Malfoy had met Kate the last time they saw each other, feeling the last pieces of the puzzle that was their arrangement slot together.
Grabbing at Malfoy’s waist, Harry’s hands slipped to the waistband of his trousers, pulling him towards that stupid, pristine sofa.

Draco had once again donned his housecoat to pour himself and Potter a drink. They were drinking that now, standing around Draco’s kitchen island with a smoke each as well, just soaking in the moment and not expecting much from each other.
It felt strange to find their relation comforting, even though Draco deep down knew that their relation really was a big ball of nothing. Still, it was a ball of nothing that felt familiar to him and that was honestly all that he needed from Potter.
“To your liking?” Draco asked as he nodded towards the glass in Potter’s hand, mostly just trying to make conversation.

When Malfoy had offered him a drink, Harry had haphazardly put his jeans back on, vaguely aware of the fact that it might all be an intricate attempt to have Harry get up and get out. It didn’t actually seem like that was the case.
Harry still felt in the clutches of the slowly subsiding adrenaline, finding it strikingly different to linger in the afterglow, an awkward intimacy they didn’t usually allow themselves. It had Harry looking at Malfoy with some degree of scepticism as he downed the last mouthful in the glass.
“It’s fine,” he said, replacing the glass with the cigarette he had left in the ashtray. “I’m not picky.”

Draco simply hummed at that, knowing that there was nothing wrong with the quality of his liquor, but he didn’t drink much himself and he really had no idea what was up to Potter’s taste.
Still, he grabbed the bottle and refilled Potter’s empty glass, not commenting on the fact that it was already empty when Draco was barely halfway through his.
“You don’t tend to be no,” he stated with just the shadow of a smirk.

Harry’s eyes dipped to his glass as Malfoy refilled it, finding that the action spoke volumes, feeling seen. It brought a reluctant grin to Harry’s lips, intentionally obscuring it by taking a drag of the cigarette.
His attention returned onto Malfoy as he exhaled, his gaze heavy with interest.
“It’s nice,” he forfeited amicably, somewhat aware of the fact that they maybe weren’t necessarily talking about the drink any longer.

Draco hummed at that, liking how boyish Potter seemed to become whenever he let his guard down. It reminded him of much simpler times in their life and how things could have been had their lives been simpler.
“Yeah?” he asked, feeling that maybe they were talking about something else, but he wasn’t going to dig too much into that.

In lieu of an answer, Harry simply looked at Malfoy as he took another drag, finding anything else redundant. It was both a lie and not, the drink simultaneously fine and nice, indifferent. Harry really wasn’t picky, happy to have a drink - or whatever else - when offered.
Tangled into that was the unfortunate fact that Harry found Malfoy annoyingly attractive when he smiled, but how the two things intertwined was better left unexplored.
“Are you gonna let me try yours someday?” he asked instead, a juvenile grin pulling at his lips, humouring Malfoy by playing faux discreet as if anyone was listening. He tapped the ash off into the dish between them. “Your homebrew.”

At first, Draco didn’t really understand what Potter was referring to, having honestly forgotten that Potter knew about that aspect of his life. It was a little unnerving, but in a way it was also pleasant, finding that it was another thing he didn’t have to hide around Potter.
“No,” he stated with a shrug, taking another sip from his drink, looking at Potter over the rim and trying to take in his reaction to that. There really was no way in hell that he was going to let Potter into his stash though, finding that that as just a bridge too far.
“That’s just for me,” he added with the shadow of a grin at the corner of his mouth.

Trying to read Malfoy’s expression, Harry’s eyes dipping down to the barely-there smile pulling at his mouth. He hadn’t expected any other answer, deep down, but it didn’t stop Harry from wanting it anyway. There was something ancient and possessive about getting increased access to Malfoy’s life, an itch for more, the feeling very much alike getting let into his flat tonight.
“Why not?” he asked, curious rather than offended, eyes returning to Malfoy’s. It felt like such an arbitrary line to draw. “I’m pretty sure your department brews the one we use at work.”

Draco simply hummed at that, finding that there was a certain childish satisfaction in getting to deny Potter something, even if it probably didn’t make a lot of sense.
“It does,” he stated with a shrug, not seeing how his professional life had anything to do with his personal stash of potions.
“That has nothing to do with my personal potions.”
