Remus’ smile faltered the moment Sirius was back in his space, eyes alight with interest. There was a split second of doubt, unsure if Sirius was intentionally instigating things, but then he tightened the buckle of Remus’ buckle, and it made his breath catch, and suddenly Remus no longer harboured any doubts. If given the chance, Remus could eat Sirius right up; he almost called Sirius back.
“You’re such an idiot,” he said as he reached for the gloves, though the curse could never contain any malice. If any, it ended up almost a moan, so utterly rattled by it all.

Sirius grinned widely at that, knowing that this entire situation was juvenile and boyish but he couldn’t help but feel that he and Remus deserved this kind of levity.
After all, he didn’t actually know what he and Remus’ relationship actually entailed, but he knew that he was so desperately into Remus that he was going to take anything that he was going to offer him.
“We’re gonna be late if we don’t get going.”

The drive through town would have been pretty bearable had Remus shared a motorcycle with anyone but Sirius.
Sirius had on multiple occasions been insistent on their inability to arrive late for dinner, and Remus wouldn’t continue to press on the matter, but the drive had done nothing to push those thoughts abay. While he had started the drive with an uneasy arm firmly around Sirius’ middle, his grip had loosened and relaxed, Remus’ hand resting idly at Sirius’ hip.

The drive to the Mulligans had been uneventful as far as Sirius had been concerned.
He couldn’t deny that there had been a certain thrill in having Remus cling to him, and he hadn’t been able to stop himself from reaching out and put a hand on his thigh whenever they were at a red light, knowing that most people would simple see it as him checking on his passenger.
When he parked his motorcycle in front of the suburban terraced house that he knew so well, he felt a slight pang of loss at having to forgo Remus’ easy touching, but he was also excited about this new aspect of them.

Remus arrived at the Mulligan's home unhelpfully flushed. Beyond the inevitable proximity of the position, Sirius' thoughless - or worse, thoughfull - touches had done little to steady Remus' breathing. The fact that they were heading to their professor's for dinner was nothing short of unfair, leaving a mirriad of unreturned touches itching at Remus' fingertips.
The first to disembark to maintain the balance of the bike, Remus kept close enough to speak, their helmets still muffling the spunds around them.
"I can't wait to get you home," he said, and any innocence of the words was lost in the brightness of Remus' gaze, heavy with implications of it before his lips widened into a grin.
Hands resching up to undo the claps of his own helmet, Remus took half a step back, his voice a shaly laugh. "****ing hell."
Then, as if an afterthought, Remus stepped slightly closer again, still enough sense to try and kewp the conversation private. "I'd have you for dinner."

While Sirius was no longer a stranger to Remus’ affections, the sheer heat and heaviness behind them this time took his breath away. He never really knew what he had done to deserve all of that attention from Remus, but if he had known that his reaction to a ride on his bike would be this, he might have offered it a lot earlier.
He was blushing furiously as he disembarked the bike and removed the helmet, glancing up at the house to see if the sound of his bike had alerted Arlo and Irene to their presence yet.
“Christ, Remus,” was all he could say, voice thin and shaky but a boyish grin tugging at the corner of his mouth indicating that he didn’t exactly mind the attention.

Remus only grinned at that, bright and unabashed and, regrettably, utterly smitten by Sirius. It was stupid at best, but looking back at Sirius, Remus still felt the buzz of the motor somewhere deep in his chest, making it hard to keep his mind from wandering.
Removing his own helmet, he boyishly shoved it back into Sirius’ arms. “Later.”

While Sirius normally greatly enjoyed Sunday roast at the Mulligan’s, he hadn’t been able to properly relax, unable to stop thinking about how Remus had looked at him as they disembarked his bike.
The trip home had felt endless, much longer than it normally would, but Sirius had tried to stay focused on the road and not too much on how Remus was clutched to him.
When they finally pulled back into the student garage, Sirius finally felt like he was able to relax again, finding that a sense of excitement was taking over his every sense and for once he wasn’t trying to put a hold on himself.

When Sirius’ parked the bike upon their return, Remus was in a slightly different state of mind; the rush of adrenaline still bubbling through him was more so attributed to the dinner they had just left. It felt so unwarranted and undeserved that Remus had been invited along, and as he dismounted the bike, he found himself running through the evening in its entirety, trying to gauge if he at any point had made a fool of himself in front of the professor.

Remus looked stunning as he disembarked, making Sirius’ heart stutter in his chest, wanting so badly to have him close the way he had wanted ever since they arrived at the Mulligans’.
As Sirius himself disembarked and removed his helmet, he couldn’t help but grin at Remus, liking how he looked when he was feeling good about himself, and knowing that he had had some part in that made him feel like he could fly.
“Wasn’t so bad, now was it?”

Remus' furrowed brow relaxed at the sound of Sirius' voice, Remus' eyes and attention refocusing on him as he lost his train of thought. A little sheepish about what Sirius must have seen on his face, Remus grinned, reluctantly.
"It was fine," he allowed, hands finding the clasp of his helmet.
Almost mindlessly returning to Sirius' space. Remus took a step and a half turn towards him, once again standing face to face when he pulled his helmet off.
He offered it back to Sirius, who had a better reach of the sidecar, attarched on the other side of the bike.
"They lke you so much its hard to compete," Remus said, but the malice of the words dissappeared in the affection of Remus' grin, finding Sirius so deserving of it.

Sirius grinned at that, accepting the helmet and placing both of the helmets back into his sidecar, feeling giddy and happy with how well this dinner had gone for them.
“I’ve had years to butter them up,” he said, reaching out for Remus, almost as if on reflex, placing his hand on his hips, and moving into his space entirely.
He had had his motorcycle for almost the entire time he had attended uni, and he could count on one hand the amount of people he had run into in the student garage in that time, so he felt quite safe in showing Remus some affection.
“Don’t worry, I could tell that they like you too.”

For a flicker of a moment, Remus’ smile widened at the praise and touch, reluctant to let it show just how much it affected him. His eyes betrayed him, skimming past Sirius’ face down to the narrow space between them, helpless.
“Not sure that you’re a reliable witness,” Remus said.
Though he doubted Sirius would’ve even reached for him had there been any chance of people being around them, Remus still cast a look around the garage, before reaching for Sirius’ midriff.
His attention returned onto Sirius, a grin tugging on his lips. “I think you might be projecting.”

It wasn’t that Sirius thought that Remus was lying, but right in that moment, it seemed impossible to him that anyone would be able to look at Remus and see anything but the stunning man that was in front of him.
It made Sirius giddy to know that he got to have this with Remus, shared dinners with their professor and his wife and then getting to go home and be like this together.
Sirius could honestly say that he was happier than he had been in a long time.
“I might be,” he admitted with a sheepish grin, tightening his grip on Remus and pulling him slightly closer, constant aching to feel him close by.
“Because I really think that you are extraordinary.”

Biting the inside of his cheek to dull a smile, Remus allowed himself to be pulled closer. It was hard to pin point when Sirius had managed to get so close to him, physically and emotionally, but it was hard to care when he was right there in front of him, willingly moving even closer.
For a moment, Remus managed to stall himself, just enough to consider to refrain, or at least ask Sirius if he could kiss him.
It struck him mid-motion, leaning in slightly for a moment before eyes dipping to Sirius’ lips; Remus was, however, far too weak of a man to deny himself this. Within the same beat of his heart, Remus closed the last remaining distance, his hands leaving Sirius’ waist in favour of his jaw, pulling him into a starved kiss.

Being kissed by Remus was likely never going to lose its novelty to Sirius, occasionally still recalling his first failed attempt at getting to kiss Remus, and still having a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that this was something that was so easily afforded to him now.
It took no effort at all for Sirius to tighten his grip on Remus, desperate for him to remain this close, to free, for as long as it was afforded to him.
He returned the kiss as if Remus was his last source of air, feeling high on a Sunday roast well done, and knowing that Arlo and Irene had adored Remus almost as much as Sirius himself did.

Aware of how immensely public their embrace was, there was a great relief in feeling Sirius give into the kiss. It was a newer development, a clever sign of Remus’ poor influence on Sirius’ sense of self-preservation, but it was difficult not to indulge in it, dizzy with it.
Stepping further into the embrace, Remus crowded Sirius against the side of his bike, less a question as it was an invitation. Despite the garage benign attached to the dorms, their room felt too far away after such a drawn-out evening.

It was never really going to feel like the norm for Sirius to have Remus be so attentive to him, feeling so lucky that this was something they could share together.
As he was pushed against his bike, Sirius couldn’t help but grin, knowing that they were running an enormous risk in being this public about their affections, but Sirius was finding it endlessly difficult to care.

Trying to force himself some sense of awareness of their surroundings, Remus’ lips left Sirius’ in favour of his cheek, his jaw, his neck. Placing sloppy kisses across Sirius’ skin, Remus peered behind him, encouraged by the vast emptiness of the garage.
Straightening his posture, Remus rested his forehead against Sirius’, a steady point of balance. Letting go of the loose hold he had of Sirius’ jaw, Remus’ hands instead dipped into the narrow space between them, eyes glued to them with dazed interest.

As it always were, Sirius wanted everything that Remus had to offer him.
The longer they shared this thing together, the more selfish Sirius found himself becoming with his attention, wanting to soak up every single second and cherishing everything that Remus was willing to give him.
As their foreheads met, Sirius found his breathing to be heavy, so consumed with Remus that every single other need seemed completely trivial.
“No one ever comes down here,” he found himself muttering, only just having enough breath left in him for the words to leave his lips.
