Granted. You find the person perfectly suited for you. They are everything you dreamed of. You spend many happy years together. However, they have a terminal disease. On their death bed, as you hold their hand, tears in your eyes, saying your final goodbye, they confess that they never really loved you and really lost a bet that ended up going way too far. They die and you live the rest of your life in anguish knowing that you have been lied to all your life and never knew genuine love after all.

I wish I had hardwood floors instead of carpeting.
