Two young Vikings wander the Norse wilderness on their own until they stumble upon two dragon eggs. Separately, both adopt and raise the eggs into adult dragons. While exploring the expanded wilderness on the backs of their dragons, they find each other and decide to band together.
Eventually, they stumble upon Berk where they learn more about their dragons and themselves.

Outcast ships had been spotted out to the north of the village Krystal was only 14 when her village was attacked by a fleet of outcast ships her father had told her mother to take her and go to the forest where they would be safe Krystal stood at the edge of the wood with her mother who was supposed to stay with her but had left to help with the fighting.

Krystal stayed where she was she watched as the fight had began to go in their favor but her hope was quickly crushed when her parents were killed and the rest of the clan soon followed and those who surrendered were taken as prisoners. Krystal watched as some of the ships of the outcast’s started to sail away from her clans docks she knew that they were notting leaving till they were sure that there was noone left alive or that were not captured

Krystal ran further into the woods when she heard a voice call out to check the forest with the help of the light of the moon Krystal made her way through the forest turning to see if she was being followed she ended up tripping and falling down into a nest of some sort looking around Krystal was terrified because this was no ordinary nest it was the nest of a dragon but it seemed to have been abandoned. Krystal looked around the nest and saw an egg that had been left behind Krystal walked over to the egg and picked it up but not before making sure the nest was indeed abandoned. Once she was sure it was safe Krystal walk out of the nest with the egg and began looking for shelter from the coming storm.

After a few hours of walking through the wood Krystal found an old cave of a whispering death before entering she made sure it was safe by first calling out to see if anything else had decided to make this cave their home when she found it was clear Krystal walked into the cave placing the egg on the floor of the cave she went back out into the woods to find wood to make a fire for the rest of the night. When morning came Krystal was woken up by a sound in the cave waking up she saw that the egg had began to crack Krystal walked over to where she had left the egg she sat down near it more cracks appeared on the shell and finally the shell broke and out came a small black dragon with white details and blue highlights of his wings and spines. Krystal had heard many stories about these dragons it was called a skrill a dragon that was very valuable on the market. The small dragon tried to walk over to her but ended up falling over she picked him up and looked the dragon over

Krystal put in the dragon in her lap where he fell asleep she petted the dragons head and started to think of a couple of name for this dragon she then settled on Blackout

______________________________________________________________________________

One Year later

Krystal was out hunting a deer that she had seen a few moments ago to bring back to her dragon Krystal found the deer by a water spring with a few other animals around Krystal took aim with her bow she was perfectly camouflaged in the trees. Krystal dragged the body of the deer back to the cave where her dragon was she pulled out a knife and cut the hind off the deer which she was going to use to finished Blackout’s saddle putting the hide to the side for a moment to let it dry out and tan Krystal heard her dragon come over to her “well look who finally awake” Krystal stood up and turned to face her dragon Blackout nugged Krystal almost knocking her over. Krystal tossed him some meat from the deer then went and started to work on finishing his saddle they had to leave this island even though it had been there home for so long Blackout came over to her and rested his head on her lap Krystal petted his head “you ready for this bud” Krystal looked around the woods that they had called home Blackout moved so she could stand moving to stand beside him Krystal fitted the saddle on him and made sure that it wasn’t to tight on him.

Stepping away from him she looked it over it wasn’t perfect but it would work for now Krystal walked into the cave and grabbed her saddle bag she had found in the village that had been her home before the attack she had also found her father’s sword and shield when she had went there. Blackout walked around the area with his new saddle to see how it felt for him he watched Krystal grabbed her beg and come back to him. Krystal secured the saddle bag and then climbed on top of Blackout “alright Blackout let’s go” Blackout spread his wings which crackled with electricity then taking off of the ground. Krystal pulled out a small map of the surrounding islands “let’s go out to the east and see what is out there Blackout” Blackout roared with excitement but was still sad to leave the place where he had called home.

Davyn the Viking was fourteen years old, the youngest of his family of 10 brothers and sisters. His mother had died giving birth to him, and the grief had made his father reject him. He didn't have a good bond with his father, so it was left to his oldest sister to take care of him even though she had a family of her own. Which was probably his saving grace because his baby niece was born right around the time that he was so his sister was able to breastfeed him.
His clan was the largest in his tribe, making up about half of the population on their side of the massive island they inhabited. Most of his family didn't have jobs like other clans. None of them were smithworkers or tribe leaders or anything like that. They trained solely for combat. So when Davyn heard the commotion from his village being attacked, he watched from a safe distance, certain that his tribe would prevail. He couldn't have been more wrong, and watching his family get killed shook him to his core. He stayed in that spot, watching his village burn while the attackers took everything of value and then they sailed away. He was safe in the woods above the village, but he felt like he had been in that village alongside the rest of his family. Everyone he knew had just been killed and he was on his own.
As the sun began to sink and the temperature dropped, he knew he needed to find shelter. He turned his back on his smoldering village and raced deep into the trees.

An hour later the sun was out of the sky so he was racing through the trees, guided by only moonlight. He stumbled upon a network of caves in a portion of woods that he didn't know. The breeze shifted and he shivered from cold. He knew he wouldn't find anything better tonight so she checked the entrance for signs of recent activity. There were no tracks and no sounds from inside. He called into the darkness and listened hard for a growl or a response of some sort. Nothing. He edged inside slowly, still calling out so that whatever was inside would know that he was inside as well so it had better show itself so he could leave. Nothing moved.
The sheer darkness scared him. It was absolute night where the moon's light didn't reach. But there was warmth further in so he carefully made his way. Eventually the moon's light became inadequate and he found himself advancing through the save simply guided by touch. Suddenly, he tripped. He landed on his face, scraping his chin, his hands and his knees. He started crying, the reality from the day's events shoving itself into his heart. He curled up on the cave floor and sobbed, barely noticing that his toes touched a smooth surface that moved when he did. When he finally stopped crying, he noticed the thing his feet had nudged, and he sat up. he grabbed it, noting its smooth surface and oblong shape.
He had no idea what this thing was, but his mind drifted to stories of this island that used to be home to a flock of pitch black dragons. His ancestors had hunted these dragons nearly to extinction until the decimated flock was forced to leave the island. He didn't know why those stories came to his mind as he touched this strange thing, but he still held it close as he finally drifted off to sleep.

When the sun rose the next day, it shed its light into the cave to awake Davyn. He sat up, rubbing sleep out his eyes as he looked around his unfamiliar surroundings. When his eyes landed on the smooth black stone, he remembered everything from yesterday. He nearly started crying again as he gathered the strange black thing close, but he noticed that it moved. He startled as he held it out where he could see it. He could feel something on the inside moving again, feel a small but present rhythm. Like when he had felt a pregnant village mother's belly and felt the baby's heartbeat and kick. There was something alive in this stone. It was no stone, but an egg. A dragon egg.
He gasped and held it close to his chest as an enormous weight settled on his shoulder. he didn't know why he did this, but he promised to protect the egg. It made no sense to him at the time because he would barely be able to take care of himself let alone be responsible for another life. But he made the promise nonetheless, and Davyn's word was as good as gold.
The egg moved again, growing in intensity and frequency and Davyn put the egg down, fearing the wiggling would cause him to drop it. He talked to it, trying to calm it. But it did nothing. It only encouraged the egg to squirm. And then the cracks appeared, one after another. When they joined, the egg fell apart and out tumbled a tinny, pure black dragon with purple eyes. It stumbled around as Davyn lost his breath, and it focused its eyes on him. It squeaked and stumbled in his direction. it started to fall, but he scooped it up on his arm and brought the hatchling close to his chest.
"Hi, there." he cooed, stroking the dragon down its back with barely a touch. "Look at you, little one. Aren't you beautiful."
The dragon purred and looked him in the eyes. He chuckled and petted the dragon again. "Amythest."

ONE YEAR LATER

"Okay, Amythest." Davyn sighed as he hauled his pack out of the cave. "Today's the day. You excited?" He looked to the dragon following him, hearing her rumble her agreement.
He stopped and pulled out the map he had recently acquired at the village on the other side of the island. It was a trip he hated to make because his village and the other village didn't always get along. But they would agree to nearly everything for the right amount of gold.
Amythest came close, ignoring the butterfly fluttering nearby. She could sense that this was a time for seriousness. "We are here." Davyn pointed to the island, near the center of the island where the caves they had called home for the last year were located. "And the nearest island is here." He pointed to a tiny island to the north. "Let's get to this island and then call it quits for the day. That way you can rest up for tomorrow."
Amythest purred, looking to the north. "Okay, then let's saddle up." Davyn put away the map in his knapsack. He took his blanket and tied it onto Amythest's back, tying the ropes under her chest and around her middle, being careful to avoid interferring with her breathing, her wings and her front legs. He then tied on his single knapsack so that he could lean on it. He didn't want it on her sides, afraid it would throw off her balance or interfere with one of her limbs.
He checked the contents of the sack and then the cave, making sure they had gotten everything. There was nothing more to collect."Its time to go, Amythest. You ready, girl?" He asked as he climbed into her back. She rumbled, swishing her tail in excitement."
"Okay, then let's go. Remember, we're going north." He said as he pulled on his heaviest jacket and tied some fabric over his face to reduce the impact of the wind. He knew form experience that flying without a jacket would leave him very cold that not even a fire would fix. As he did so, his dragon made her way to the precipice that she learned to fly from. it was a deathly drop from the highest point on the island, and the wind was at their backs. Perfect to start a journey.
"Go." He urged her, leaning as far forward as he dared as she opened her wings and launched them effortlessly into the air.

Krystal looked at her map to see where they were to be meeting the trader that was known to be around these parts of the seas Blackout growled with concern as they had been flying for a few hours and he was growing tired. Krystal reached down and patted his side “I know you are tired Blackout but we have to find this trader before sun down” Krystal looked around to see if she could see the ship from here Blackout turned off a little towards a small island near them Krystal tried to pull him back on their path “I know your tired Blackout but please a little longer” Blackout grunted with displeasure but did what she asked not seeing the ship still Krystal had taken noticed of the clouds which were getting darker “alright Blackout let’s land and get out of the way of this storm for now we will pick up after the storm passes. Blackout turned toward the island that they had seen he did not like the idea of flying in a storm right now landing on the island Blackout and Krystal made their way through the forest. Krystal jumped down from his saddle and started to find some shelter for them after walking for awhile she found a cave “Blackout over here” Krystal waited for him but he didn’t show up “Blackout”? Krystal went back to where she had last seen him Blackout stood on a cliff looking out at the sea at the coming storm he didn’t notice his rider looking for him. Krystal broke though the forest underbrush and found him “there you are you had me scared what you doing bud” Krystal looked out at the sea “oh I know you want to you want to be out here for the storm well go ahead bud just come to the cave when your ready” Krystal hugged her dragon and then headed back to the cave to wait out the storm. Blackout watched the storm come closer the the island he stretched out his wings as if to fly off but stayed where he was.

Months passed and Davyn and Amythest made slow but steady progress. Now that she was getting used to flying fro long stretches, she was getting faster and her endurance was building. It wouldn't be long now, Davyn thought privately, before she is ready to live up to her breed's legacy.
Their continued progress led them to all kinds of new places, new experiences and new people. They continued their trek north, occasionally veering off-course to explore an intriguing island or a nearby market. One day, they heard thunder in the distance, and Amythest turned her purple gaze on the dark clouds.
"Yeah, I see it, girl. What do you want to do?" He always made it a point to ask her opinion. She knew her abilities just as well or even better than he did. Besides, he didn't want to hold her back. If she wanted to stretch her wings among those dark clouds then that was fine by him. If she wanted to hunker down somewhere and wait out the tempest, he'd gladly help her look for a spot.
She rumbled, keeping her gaze fixed on the clouds before them. Davyn didn't speak; he knew that she was thinking. Going into that storm would be great fun for her, but it could be perilous to her rider.
Finally, she turned toward the storm. Davyn smiled and adjusted his seat in the saddle. After a year of nurturing a baby dragon and being so careful with her, now she was confident enough to take a chance. He was excited for this opportunity and was eager for the experience and the things that he would learn.

Amythest accelerated, speeding through the air, taking Davyn by surprise. He whooped and hung on to the saddle's makeshift grip as his dragon took them into the storm. The winds buffeted them, but Amythest barely slowed down. She simply adjusted her tail and moved on. Lightning flashed as thunder boomed, and rain began pouring down. Amythest roared, shooting a plasma blast into the clouds in her excitement. She swooped, spun, and dived, timing her moves between gusts of winds and making to account for them so that they don't overpower her and send them into the icey ocean below. It was clear to anyone who didn't even know her that she was having the time of her life.

Just as the rain, winds and the cold began to catch up with Davyn and he was going to tell Amythest to land...A mistake was made. Someone leaned the wrong way just as a strong gust of wind came in from the side. Davyn was ripped off the saddle and downwards, away from Amythest. He shouted as Amythest looked his way, noticing the sudden lack of weight on her back. She roared as Davyn plummeted. She folded her wings and chased him, dropping past him. In a split second, she had turned her head to judge her rider's position and then matched her own body so that he fit back into the saddle with little jarring impact. As soon as she felt Davyn's arms around her neck, she opened her wings to stop their descent. She pulled them away from the storm and towards an island she had noted as they passed overhead, but she shouldn't have relaxed so soon. The storm wasn't going to let her go that easily. Another gust of wind, the strongest she'd felt yet, ripped at her from all directions, twisting her whole body around and leaving her disoriented. A chunk of ice, one of many that had begun to fall, fell onto her wing just as she had managed to get straightened out. A bone cracked and buckled, and the dragon screamed in agony as she felt her control over the air fade away. She began to fall and she screamed again in outrage. She heard Davyn screaming in her ear, she used her good wing and her tail to try to guide them to the island. They were going down hard and fast, but she managed to get them over land. Once they were clear of the ocean, she focused to slowing their speed. Backflapping hard and reaching for the nearest tree's tallest branches, she grabbed hold on a thick bough. Their speed stopped, but the branch was too thin to support them. It broke and they fell, crashing into the branches before finally landing hard on the ground below. Both of them were knocked unconscious.

Krystal was setting up a fire and her bed in the cave when she heard a roar come from outside the cave her heart dropped at the thought that it might have been Blackout running over to the cave entrance she saw a silhouette of a dragon flying close to the island. Krystal watched as it landed in a tree where the branch it was on had broken Krystal grabbed her fur jacket and ran out of the cave to see if the dragon was alright “blackout” Krystal shouted to her dragon as she ran through the trees towards the downed dragon. Blackout was standing on the cliffs edge not really paying any attention to what was going on around him until he heard Krystal shout for him. Blackout ducked under the trees and went to find his rider. Krystal came up to the tree she had seen the dragon land in to find it and what she assumed was it’s rider under the tree. Blackout found Krystal by another dragon and human he came closer to Krystal and growled lowly at her. “I know bud I have the rider can you help get the dragon to the cave bud” Blackout moved to be closer the the dragon leaning his head down to find a suitable place to grab the dragon with. Krystal didn’t know if she would be strong enough to lift the boy but she managed to get him onto Blackout’s back. She then came over to Blackout to find where he could grab and possibly lift or drag the dragon by “just be gentle bud we don’t want to hurt them more than they already are.

Once back to the cave Krystal had laid the furs she was going to use for her bed to lay the boy down checking both the boy and the dragon over she could see that the rider only has injuries from the fall out of the tree and the dragon had a broken wing they were both unconscious but she had a way to fix that. After checking to make sure neither of them had any other injuries Krystal opened her saddle bag and pulled out some herbs and a mortar and pedestal. Krystal started to grind the herbs that would wake the rider up she would have to find a larger amount of herbs to wake the dragon. Krystal mixed the herbs with a little water and spread the herbs on a cloth and placed it on the riders forehead it would still take a moment to wake him up. Krystal went over to the dragon holding the broken wing lightly in her hands she began to think of a few remedies to heal the wing a bit faster but first it needed to be splinted. Blackout I need you to go and get me a few large branches from a tree” Blackout nodded and headed out into the storm to find the branches that were needed. Krystal looked through her bag to see if she had the herbs she needed for the remedy pulling out what she needed Krystal started to work on the remedy when she was done Krystal came over to the dragon and waited for Blackout to return with the branches.

Blackout cave back to the cave dragging a couple of branches he dropped them when he was inside the cave and went over to Krystal. “Oh there you are buddy” she gave Blackout a quick hug and then went to work on the branches first stripping the bark and then cut them to her desired length. Bringing the branches closer to the dragon Krystal started to fit the branches to make the splint for the wing. Krystal tied the branches tight but made sure that it was not to tight to hurt the dragon she then applied the remedy on the wing when she was done Krystal set out some fish for the dragon for when it woke up and gave Blackout some form helping her. Krystal than took her seat by the fire and waited for the rider to wake up so she could get some answers Blackout came over to her and placed his head on her lap “I know Blackout I hope they're okay to” Krystal petted her dragons head she did not know what she would do if anything happen to him.

Consciousness penetrated Davyn's sleep, quickly coupled with pain in his head. He hissed as he gingerly sat up and opened his eyes. He startled when he saw the girl and the dragon. Instinctively, he reached for his back, to the hunting knife that he kept there. He couldn't immediately see Amythest, and he hoped she was alright, but he knew from her lack of presence that she was still unconscious. He was on his own for now.
"Who are you?" He asked, fighting to think through the pain radiating from the back of his head. "Where's Amythest?"

Krystal looked up when she heard the boy ask her a question Krystal got into a crouch picking up her blade not to defend herself but to calm Blackout who was Growling and hissing at the boy she held the blade a few inches in front of his snout. Krystal did not take her eyes off of the boy “my name is Krystal and this is Blackout” Krystal thought about the name he had given her the only other thing that the name could go to was the dragon she had found him with so that must be his dragon Krystal relaxed a bit “she is fine your dragon is at the back of the cave she is still unconscious and has a broken wing but otherwise she is fine. Blackout came closer to Krystal his spines bristling Krystal noticed that electricity was sparking along his spines Krystal keep her sword between Blackout and the boy just to keep him safe “Blackout it’s fine buddy he is not going to hurt us” at least she hoped that he wasn’t going to hurt them.

Davyn took a few steadying breaths, willing his heartbeat to calm.
"A dragon with electricity. That's cool." He whispered as he locked eyes with the dragon, and he lowered the hand gripping his hunting knife, holding both up so the dragon could see. He lowered his eyes to say that he wasn't a threat. "Krystal, right? I'm Davyn. Thank you for looking after myself and Amythest." He kept his eyes low as he struggled to his feet. He checked behind him, over the rock. He could see Amythest a few yards behind him, still unconscious. He saw that her wing was splinted, and his heart burned at the thought that his dragon was hurt.
"I'm going to move toward her, ok?"
He slowly moved his feet, doing his best to communicate each step, keeping his head lowered. He checked behind him every few steps to make sure he wasn't going to trip on Amythest's tail. He kneeled down beside her, taking her head onto his lap.
"Hey, girl." He whispered to her as he stroked her ears.

Krystal lowered her sword when Blackout had calmed down Krystal stood up and nodded to Davyn to say that it was fine for him to go over to his dragon. Blackout stood close to Krystal when the boy had shown that he was not a threat he had bowed his head as a sign of respect to him he kept his eyes on the boy though just to be sure. Krystal walked over to check the fire and added twigs to keep it going than she decided to come back over to the dragon where Davyn was now “If you don’t mind me asking but what type of dragon is amythest I’m only asking because some dragons heal faster than others”. Blackout came over and put his head under her arm “I know bud your worried about her to” Krystal petted his head and sat down not too far away from Davyn and Amythest Blackout rested his head on her lap “when the storm lightens up I can go and search for the herbs that will help wake her up a little bit faster. Krystal knew that different remedies work for different dragons and some of them is was hard to find the ingredients for the remedy Krystal wondered how Davyn and his dragon had meet “another thing how did you and Amythest meet I understand if you don’t want to tell me it’s fine”.

"She's a Night Fury. I don't mind talking about how we met. It's quite simple. My village was burned to the ground by marauders last year. The only reason I survived was because I was exploring the forest. When I saw what was happening, I fled to the caves to hide. In the darkness, I tripped on something smooth and round. The next morning, when there was light, I saw that it was a black egg. Only one dragon has black eggs, only Night Furies. Which, honestly, I thought my village had hunted to extinction a hundred years ago when we first settled there. The dragons were competition for resources so there was heavy fighting. Eventually the flock either moved on or died out. So imagine my surprise and awe when I found an abandoned Night Fury egg. Yes, I know she was abandoned. The nest was filled with other shattered eggs so its likely that when Amythest didn't hatch on time the mother just abandoned her." Davyn told his story calmly, quietly as he stroked his dragon's head, trying to gently coax her to wake up.
"That's an awesome dragon you have. What kind of dragon is it?" He asked, patiently.

Reassured by Damyn's voice, Amythest purred as she gained consciousness.
"Hey, girl!" He greeted her warmly, only to burst into contained chuckles when she reached up and started licking his face so powerfully that he was bowled over. "Yes, its great to see you too. haha! okay, okay, I get it."
Amythest purred, nuzzling her human as she let him up. He scratched her chin and in trying to stretch into the scratches, she noticed the split around her wing. She looked at it curiously, sniffed it and tried to move her wing but couldn't. She looked at Damyn, confused.
"When we hit the tree, we went down. You broke your wing. Krystal and Blackout, here, found us and patched us up."
Amythest grunted in acknowledgment, looking towards the human and dragon who also occupied the cave. She grunted again as if to say 'thanks, i guess, but i'm still keeping my eye on you two.' as she curled protectively around her human. Davyn simply shook his head and chuckled as he rolled his eyes.

Krystal listened to Damyn’s story about how he had meet his dragon amythest she stroked Blackout’s head she was amazed to see a nightfury she had only heard legends about this dragon she smiled when he asked about Blackout. “Well he is a Skrill a dragon that is able to create a storm and also uses them for energy I thought all of the ones that lived on our island were extinct but I found his egg and after that we became best friends”. Krystal laughed when Amythest woke up and began to lick him Blackout watched her he was glad to see her awake he rumbled with joy. “It’s no problem really I was taught by my mother to heal people a dragons” Krystal looked down at Blackout who looked up at her and nuzzled her “I know buddy I love you to” Krystal stood up and walked back to the fireplace I imagine she is hungry after that” . Krystal picked up a couple of fish and brought them back to Damyn and Amythest “here is some fish for her to help her get her strength back” Krystal gave Blackout one of the fish she had and passed the others to Damyn to give to Amythest.

"Wow. Looks like we've got basically the same story, huh? Healing, that's awesome. I wish I could do something like that. All I'm good for is hunting, though, and even then it's only when my village was burned that I had to practice enough to get good enough to feed us. Oh, thanks!"
He took the fish and fed it to Amythest, chuckling again as she swallowed it greedily and then curled around him again. The Skrill, Blackout, had shown no signs of being a threat and the human girl had even fed them. Amythest supposed that they weren't going to hurt them so she uncurled a bit, still keeping her human close because she liked cuddling with him even though she was too big to sit in his lap. She rumbled happily as she closed her eyes to doze.
"I've heard about Skrills. Never seen one before, though. He's pretty great, isn't he?"

Krystal looked at Damyn “I guess we do and ya it is pretty awesome to know about healing because it helps when we get in trouble but hunting is also a good skill to have as well.” Krystal sat down and Blackout rested his head in her lap and closed his eyes to sleep Krystal looked down at him “ya he is pretty great what I know about Skrills is that they are loyal”. Krystal looked up to see Amythest Curled around Damyn “Amythest is pretty cool I have never seen a night fury but I have heard of stories and legends about them”. Krystal loved Blackout but she found Amythest beautiful and saw that she was a very protective dragon of her rider “the thing about skrills is that they are protective as you saw” Krystal brought the sword she had out and placed it beside her “the only way to calm a skrill down is by using a metal item like my blade and holding it in front of their snout”. Krystal looked back down at Blackout the dragon she had grown up with and had become best friends.

"My parents said Skrills react that way to metal because of the fact that metal attracts lightning. It makes sense that a lightning dragon would be attracted to a metal dagger."
He stroked Amythest's head gently.
"She is pretty protective and loyal, too. We haven't been together long, but I've seen her do some pretty incredible things to keep me safe. I'd do a lot for her, too, if she would give me the chance."
Amythest purred, relaxing a bit and allowing her eyes to fall closed. She was completely okay with this situation. Suddenly, she lifted her wing and engulfed Damyn in purple blackness. He let out a surprised yelp, then he chuckled.
"Okay, Amythest, I get it. Sorry, Krystal but it seems Amythest is telling me its time for sleep." He explained as he settled against his dragon's warm side. He yawned as exhaustion swept over him. Maybe his dragon was right.

Krystal listened to Damyn it made sense as to why Blackout calmed down when she held the blade or anything metal in front of him she looked down at Blackout who grunted and moved his head and stood up and walked towards the fire and lied down to sleep. Krystal laughed at Amythest as she engulfed Damyn with her wings that’s okay Damyn I guess we will talk more in the morning Krystal stood up and dusted herself off “good night Damyn and you too Amythest.” Krystal walked over to her dragon and layed down beside him laying her head down on his side she could hear his heartbeat and felt the gently rise and fall of his side. Krystal looked over at him he watched her for a moment and then placed his head down on the ground and fell asleep Krystal stayed awake for a while longer watching the fire die down to smoldering embers she pulled the furs over her and fell asleep with her dragon beside her.

Amythest rumbled her response to Krystal, and promptly fell asleep once she sensed that her rider was asleep as well.

She was the first to wake the next morning. Sunlight streamed gently into the cave, waking the dragon of darkness. She yawned and looked around. She saw Blackout and Krystal, still asleep, and recalled the last few days. She rumbled quietly to herself. She sniffed the breeze and, finding no dangerous scents, she laid her head down again. A few minutes later, Damyn moved, patting her side lightly to tell her that he was awake. She lifted her uninjured wing and stood to stretch. She groaned in pain as she moved the injured wing. She looked at it again, sniffed the split, and looked to Damyn. He stroked her head.
"I know, girl." He whispered quietly. "Let's find you some herbs, and do a bit of hunting for breakfast, huh?" He emptied her saddlebags of nonessentials, leaving stacked nicely in a corner. Once that was done, he looked around the cave, finding Krystal and Blackout asleep. "Gotta leave a note. A stick..."
He found one not far away, and he scribbled in the sandy area of the cave. Amythest looked at him, trying to figure out what he was doing. But she followed him when he gestured to her.

For the next few hours, Amythest hunted for rabbits and small game - since it was daytime, she stayed in one rabbit-populated spot and shot her plasma blasts to kill her prey. When she had six kills, she returned to Damyn, who had gone hunting for medicinal and seasoning herbs, making sure to avoid anything poisonous to the dragons. He carried his bag and stuffed it full with the various herbs that he recognized. When Amythest found him, they returned to the cave.

Blackout woke up to the sounds of birds outside of the cave he rumbled in displeasure then nuged Krystal with his tail “Okay I’m up” Krystal stood up and placed the furs down in a neat folded pile she looked around the cave to find it empty she thought that Damyn and Amythest had left earlier but she later found the note he had left. Krystal started to clean up her belongings that she had left everywhere in the cave and placed them back in her saddlebag she than turned her attention to the fire pit Krystal went around the cave and found some twigs and leftover logs to put in the fire pit. Krystal turned to Blackout “mind helping out bud” Blackout grunted and blasted the wood with lighting which than caught on fire Blackout then curled up and fell back asleep. Krystal then turned to see Damyn and Amythest coming back “ good morning to you two” Krystal pulled back the hair that had fallen into her eyes and tucked it behind her ear and smiled at Damyn and Amthest Krystal did not know how long it had been since she had smiled last but it felt great.

"Morning." Damyn chirped but paused slightly in his tracks as Krystal smiled and moved her hair. His mind went blank of all thoughts except 'Holy Freyja, she's pretty when she smiles!'
Amythest noticed the hitch in her human's step and rumbled questioningly, which grabbed Damyn's attention. He shook his head slightly, realised what he had thought and done, blushed and continued forwards. His words next were laced with embarassment but he tried to hide it.
"Sleep well? Sorry to leave without waking you. I figured you could use the sleep. I brought medicinal and seasoning herbs, and Amythest caught us some rabbits for breakfast. I should have remembered the firewood. I'll go get some. Can you get these rabbits ready to cook?"
He placed his saddlebag and the rabbits down on the side of the pit opposite Blackout.

Krystal noticed Demyn staring at her she looked at the floor of the cave and blushed a little she looked back up at him when he asked her a question “Yes I slept well and it’s fine that you left without waking me it gave me some time to clean up the cave a little bit.” Krystal walked over to blackout and felt the spines along his back then turned back to Demyn and Amythest “thankyou for doing that I guess I have just been busy traveling that I haven’t really had time to go and search for herbs or go hunting. Krystal took Demyn’s saddle bag and looked through the herbs she took the medical herbs and put them in her saddle bag she would make the remedy for Amythest wing later. Krystal walked back over to the fire pit and placed Demyn’s saddle bag on the floor of the cave then took the rabbits from Amythest “I’ll get theses ready and then I will get the remedy for her wing ready.” Krystal went a little ways outside of the cave and began to skin and cut the rabbit so it would be easier to cook on the fire the hide would be useful to them and the meat that they do not eat could be preserved for later but with dragons there was little to no chance that there would be any meat left over. Krystal hung the hides on a branch in one of the trees nearby and brought the meat back to the cave Krystal used some of the seasoning herbs to season the rabbits and then placed them carefully near the fire to cook. Krystal took this time to wake Blackout up “alright buddy time to get up” Blackout rumbled and stood up and stretched his wings a little Blackout walked past Krystal and laid down on the ground outside of the cave the sunlight catching his scales which made it look like he was made of obsidian.
