Aaron loved this bar, it was packed with enough people that he could lost himself in the crowd, but not so crowded that it was uncomfortable. The band played at a reasonable level, and people enjoyed the dance floor and multitudes of comfortable booths to sit at.

Normally Aaron came with a group of friends, but tonight he had wanted to be alone and anonymous, known only by his friend working the bar, so he hadn’t bothered inviting any of his friends out.

A drink was put down in front of him and Aaron looked up from his almost empty glass. Standing in front of him was a woman a couple of years older than he was by the looks of it. They had a grin on their face as they took the seat opposite him, leaning forward across the table between them and pushing the glass closer to him.

“I noticed your glass was almost empty, so I thought I might get you another one.” The woman told him, “Mind if I join you?”

“I don’t want company or another drink. I’m sorry.” Aaron glanced over at the bar trying to catch his friends attention but it seemed she was too busy with customers. He sighed softly, “I’m just here to enjoy the band. Please leave.”

“No one comes out on a Friday night alone not looking to pull.” The woman stated, “Come on, I promise I can be exactly what you need tonight.”

“I don’t need anything.” Aaron grit out, cursing his decision to come alone, at least if he had had a friend with him they could have helped get rid of the unwanted attention. “I have a friend joining me soon so I didn’t come out alone. Go away.”

The woman laughed softly, “You came alone, I heard you talking to the bar tender, you’re not expecting any company tonight.”

Aaron was about to get up and leave, ready to go home now that his mood had been ruined, “If you’ll excuse me I’m going home.”

Evanee, despite being the social type, did not prefer going to bars as a social gathering. If she wanted to get drunk, she was going to buy some liquor, invite her friends over at her place, and get hammered there, but not in a public place where some bad stuff could happen. So, she decided that she would be the designated driver of her friends who practically begged her to come with them.

As she let her friends have their fun together, drinking and laughing, Evanee tried her best to kinda keep to herself, talking to a few people and making nice polite conversation to make the whole experience less awkward for her.. That was until she saw the man being aggressively hit on by this, obviously, older woman at the bar. She raised a brow and thought for a moment before deciding to take the risk of helping the poor guy out.

All of a sudden, arms wrapped around him as her lips barely kissed his cheek, but it looked real enough. She quickly whispered to him in the process. "Just play along." Evanee then nuzzled him gently with a smile on her face. "Hey, baby! I'm so sorry I made you wait so long, I got caught up with a few thi-" She paused and glanced over at the woman, her smile falling slightly as she played the role of a protective girlfriend. ".. Thanks for keeping him company. But, I've got this. You can leave now." She spoke in a bitter-sweet tone that showed the woman to back up and go find some other man to suck the life out of.

Aaron startled when he felt arms around his shoulders, his jacket falling back down onto the chair beside him. It took him a second to process what was happening before it all clicked and he smiled broadly.

"It'a okay sweetie, you did warn me you could be a little late." He turned his head with a smile and just barely brushed her cheek with his lips, "Thank you." He whispered.

The woman spluttered in irritation before picking up the drink she had brought for Aaron. She stared for a moment before she tipped the whole thing down the front of Aaron's shirt. "How dare you come onto me when you have a partner. Your such a creep!" She shrieked, turning quickly to attract as much attention as possible.

Aaron stared down at his shirt, half glad that he didn't mix his drinks with soft drink, he wouldn't have such a sticky mess to clean up. He glanced up with just enough time to see the woman get escorted out of the bar.

With the commotion over Aaron turned properly to see who had saved him, an easy grin on his face. "I owe you big time. What do you drink?" He asked, "My name's Aaron by the way."

Evanee held her tongue as the woman made the huge commotion then was taken out of the bar before busting out into laughter, finding her absolutely pathetic in her attempts to not look like the vulture of the whole situation! She soon took a breath and looked up at the man with a bright smile. "It was no problem, I decided you could use some help to get.. that out of your hair. Buuut... a martini doesn't sound half bad." Eve crossed her arms across her chest. "I'm Evanee. You can call me Eve or Ann or any nickname you'd prefer though, if you want!"

She soon glanced at his shirt and shook her head at the rude gesture the woman mad from her embarrassment. "First, before that drink, let's get you a new shirt. I'm sure that you don't want to smell of alcohol all night." She looked back up at him with a carefree smile, her short dark brown hair in loose curls as she wore skinny jeans and a dark red tank top, both of them helping shape her small figure, as she wore a black blazer over both with classic Converse high tops. It was a casual outfit, but it was kinda nice at the same time.

"Evanee, nice to meet you."

Aaron hummed softly at the suggestion, looking at his shirt again, "You're probably right. Though this isn't the first time I've been covered in alcohol." He pinched the hem of his t'shirt and pulled it away from his body, "First time it was intentional though. I can't believe she had the nerve to blame it on me."

"Karley probably has a shirt out back, I can kill two birds with one stone and order you that martini and ask for a shirt." Aaron grabbed his jacket again before heading over to the bar.

"Can you not cause a commotion in my bar just one time?" Karley teased, leaning against the bar so she could take in Aaron's sorry state. "Though I'm glad you jumped in, do you know this one has no skill talking to woman he doesn't see as a friend." She turned her attention to Evanee when she said that.

"Why thanks for making me look pathetic in front of a beautiful woman." Aaron rolled his eyes, "If you're going to insult me like that maybe I'll go somewhere else."

He ignored Karley's comment about him not getting alcohol as cheap anywhere else, "I just wanted a spare shirt. You had one out the back when Aiden needed one. I'll watch the bar while you grab it."

Karley gestured for Aaron to come back and then went out into the store room. Aaron leant on the bar in front of Evanee with a casual grin, "Pays to know the owner right." He laughed, "Okay, one martini coming up for my hero tonight." Aaron tried to look casual while he made the drink, but he hadn't worked behind a bar in quite a few years now so he had to concentrate a little more.

Evanee laughed at Aaron's open confession that this had not been the first time alcohol had been spilled all over him, it being the first time that it was so intentional! She shook her head. "Looks like I've saved a party-er then! Too bad there are no kegs around, I can't see the extent of your partying abilities." She laughed at her joke, following Aaron over to the bar.

When Karley, who she assumed was the owner of the bar at the moment because of how she spoke of it, totally called Aaron out, Evanee raised a brow in curiosity as she glanced over to Aaron. "Uh ohhh, looks like someone has been busted multiple times! Shame on you, Aaron!" She looked back at Karley and just smirked when she informed Evanee of Aaron's disability of speaking when it came to woman. "Wow... I'm actually a little shocked. That woman seemed to like him just fine, buuut that's probably because he was playing hard to get and chicks seem to dig it!" Evanee casually shrugged her shoulders before glancing over at Aaron at his compliment towards her while rolling his eyes at Karley. ".. Okay, now I'm really shocked you can't talk to woman, thank you! I'm glad m beauty is as obvious to others as it is to me!" She laughed at her obvious joke, sitting down at the bar, placing her elbow against the table.

Soon enough, Karley headed to the back to get Aaron a shirt to replace his own soaked shirt. From how Aaron so casually got back there and started making the martini for her, she concluded that he had either covered this bar too many times for people who needed new shirts or he had been or is a bartender. "Thaaank you very much!"

Really, Evanee didn't expect to get a drink and conversation out of her rescue mission. She expected one of two results. 1. He was going to totally blow her cover and get mad so both him and the woman flirting with him would gang up on her or 2. He would thank her in the end of it and the two would just go their separate ways. Evanee wasn't expecting him to be so grateful, but it was a nice surprise! Nice to know your actions are truly appreciated.

Aaron had to serve a couple of other people after he set the drink down in front of Evanee. When Karley came back he thanked her before quickly going into the bathroom to change the shirt.

When Aaron came back out of the bathroom he was pushing up the sleeves of the dark red button up. He took the seat beside Evanee, turning to look at her. "This is better than an alcohol drenched shirt." He looked up when Karley gave him a new drink.

"So you must think I'm pretty pathetic thanks to Karley. I promise I don't go out on Friday nights looking to get in trouble." Aaron took a sip of his drink and really took in Evanee, a slow grin on his face as he properly took in how attractive she actually was. "I haven't dragged you away from friends or anything have I? I'd hate to be the reason you're not with them."

Evanee patiently waited for Karley to come back with the shirt as Aaron attended to people, slowly sipping on her martini with a small smile upon her lips. Tonight had resulted pretty well, definitely not boring that's for sure.

When she finally came back with the shirt and Aaron ran off to change real quick, she talked to Karley a little as she let her do her job and attend to customers, not wanting to be the cause of ticking someone. She glanced over when Aaron sat himself back down beside her, smiling at the color of the color of his shirt. ".. You got that right, it's not half bad as just a normal shirt either. Good color.." Evanee smiled as she took another sip of her drink.

Evanee just laughed lightly and shook her head at his statement. "Nah, I don't think you're pathetic! You don't look like a party-er and a troublemaker... It's just fun to tease you by calling you one!" She smirked lightly as she faced him, her elbow against the bar counter. EVanne saw how his grin grew slightly as he looked at her, curious about it, but decided to keep her lips sealed about it. No need to point it in. It wasn't a bad look! "Pfft, no! My friends are enjoying themselves getting drunk while I am staying pretty sober because I'm the designated driver. My friends let me use that label, as long as they got to drag me out here. I don't usually like going to bars and parties and all of that. What about you? You got any friends roaming around while you sat at a bar, perfect prey for vultures, such as the one that attacked you earlier?" Evanee laughed at her joke before taking another sip of her drink.

Aaron chuckled himself, “I wouldn’t say I was a partier, as much as tonight seems to prove otherwise. I enjoy going out with my friends but we don’t do it all the time. I’ve been partying since I was eighteen, so I’ve had four years worth of stories to collect.”

He listened to what she was saying, his smile easy and casual, slightly surprised that he actually was talking to Evanee as easily as he was. He wasn’t shy by any means, but talking to woman his age seemed to leave him tongue-tied and more often than not embarrassing himself at some point.

“No friends here tonight, which I am beginning to think wasn’t a good idea. I liked the band that was playing tonight and I’ve had a long week at work so I thought coming out to enjoy the night would be good for me.” He admitted, “You’re good to your friends to drive them home. So I won’t be able to keep you here with the promise of another martini then?”

She smiled lightly at him, quite enjoying Aaron's company at the moment. He seemed like a genuinely good guy that was interested in speaking to her, not as a romantic or hook up interest, just as a You saved me from being hit on after telling them I don't like it, I'm gonna talk to you! and it was pretty nice. Well... If he spoke in a slightly flirtatious fashion with her, she wouldn't mind thaaaaat much, to be honest!

Evanee looked a little surprised when he said he wasn't with friends tonight, but looked like she understood once she said a band he enjoyed played here tonight, it being the reason why he was here. "Understandable, it's a good excuse to get out and.. God, what do people call it again?.. Oh, yeah, live a little! I don't do that myself so it was hard for me to remember." Evanee laughed at her joke and shook her head. "Thank you, I like to think I'm pretty good to them as well. Buuut, they had to actually deal with me so I think of doing stuff like this as my personal fee for such friendship!" Evanee smiled before speaking up once again. "But, I think it'll be awhile before I have to go so... I can't accept that martini, but I can accept a few of those stories, I'm quite curious."

“I never should have mentioned having stories should I?” Aaron leant forward a little bit, brushing his arm against hers when he put his drink down. “What to tell you?”

“My eighteenth was the first time I actually drank. My parents let me rent a holiday house so long as I paid for it myself. I worked my butt off to pay for it, mowing neighbours lawns.” He said, glancing back to Evanee again, “I’m one of the youngest of my friends, so they had all been drinking for some time by then. They decided that we should play a drinking game…”

Aaron was shoved from behind by someone trying to get to the bar, and he fell forward into Evanee’s personal space for a moment. He pushed himself back with a slight blush tinting his cheeks. He coughed and grabbed his drink to turn his attention away for a moment.

Evanee laughed as he leaned forward, their arms gently brushing up against each other. "Nope, you probably shouldn't have! If you didn't want to keep me around, that is." She smiled at him.

She took one of the last few sips of her drink as she listened to Aaron's story, expecting to get a really good laugh once he said that they were about to play a drinking game. Of course, they were rudely interrupted by some jerk that wanted to get up to the bar, shoving Aaron into her. She quickly placed a hand on him to help him steady a bit with her cheeks turning a gentle red before he quickly pulled away and looked away.

She cleared her throat gently and glanced over to the guy who had shoved him without an apology and spoke up. "HEY! Rude guy, ever heard of being polite and apologizing to someone after you shove them?!" Evenee rolled her eyes and finished off her drink, setting it down on the bar, glancing over at Aaron. ".. I hate it when people do that, at least be decent an apologize for shoving someone."

The air was a little awkward now since Aaron had been shoved so close to her, it obviously kinda bothering him that that had happened. Evanee just wanted to continue the conversation, it was no fun for things to tense up and get awkward like this. "But, you were saying? You guys decided to play a drinking game?"

Aaron chuckled softly when she told the guy off, knowing it wasn’t likely that it would get through to him at all, but he appreciated her trying.

“Yea, turns out my friends had decided ahead of time that they wanted to play Kings Cup, without telling me all the rules before we began.” He turned his attention back to Evanee now, “They had also rigged it, some friends I have right?”

“So we played the game through, I got totally smashed, I also ended up getting the final King.” Aaron grabbed his drink again and took another sip, “I had to chug the cup, something I had never done before. My friends tried to help me chug it, but I ended up with it all over my face and down my shirt. I don’t think I actually drank very much of what was in it.” He grinned a little at the memory. “The pictures returned last year on the twenty-first birthday to embarrass me once more.”

“And that was the story of the first time I got covered in alcohol, though that time I didn’t have any one as pretty as you to save me.” He shot Evanee a grin.

Evanee smiled as he began to tell the story and began to giggle as he explained how the game was totally rigged against him. "Wooow, that is pretty bad of them to do when it comes to a newbie drinker!" She laughed harder when she explained that, instead of the alcohol actually going inside his body when he tried to chug it, it just went down his shirt. Especially when she was told there was photo graphical evidence of this event. "Oh my god, that's horrible!.. I really want to see those pictures though, I can't even imagine the look on your face in them."

Evanee put a hand over her mouth as she laughed, soon calming down with a smile on her face, really enjoying herself. "Actually, I have a story slightly similar to that, buuuut I was a bit more publicly humiliated! I might as well tell you since you told me an embarrassing story, it's only fair!"

She giggled before continuing on and telling him the story. "Well, it was my freshman year college, so I was... eighteen or nineteen. I was really depressed because my boyfriend at the time and just broken with me over text. Yeah, he was a jerk. Anyway! So, my friends invite me out to this house party and I decided 'Screw it, let's go!' I was in the mood to get really drunk, so I go and that's exactly what I do!" She rolled her eyes at herself and put a hand against her head slightly before continuing. "Annnnd, I had gotten soooo drunk that I was actually up on the table tops dancing horrifically bad in front of everyone and flirted with so many guys that I wanted to crawl in a hole and die then next day when I finally remembered!" She laughed at herself and covered her eyes in embarrassment.

Aaron laughed with her, “But at least we’re not the only ones in the world to have done it.” He told her, leaning back again, still chuckling softly at both of their stories. “Have you got any photos of that? I mean it would only be fair if I showed you photos of me embarrassing myself that you do the same.”

“I have never danced on a table, you have topped me there.” Aaron leant back onto the bar, leaning closer to her again, “I have spat a drink all over someone before. He was a real cute guy I was trying to chat up. I had just taken a mouthful of my drink when my friend put a hand on my shoulder from behind and scared me.” He grimaced a little at that, “Needless to say I didn’t get the guys number. He also became a regular at the café I work in, and he has not let me live it down!”

Aaron wasn’t able to wipe the grin from his face, this was the easiest, most comfortable conversation he had had with a stranger in quite a while. He could admit that Evanee was attractive, but it didn’t seem to be an issue for him because he wanted to get to know her, rather than dive into a relationship that would probably end a few weeks later like he normally did.

She laughed and shook her head. "I would never let you live it down either if you spat alcohol right in my face when trying to flirt with me! Then again, I don't plan to let you live down how I had to save you by pretending to be your girlfriend either!" Evanee laughed with a smile, assuming that Aaron was bisexual at this point since he has flirted with both men and women and not just one of the two.

"But, my friends have plenty of pictures of me dancing on table tops and they never ever let me live it down! I am burdened with that shame for the rest of my years!" Evanee shook her head with a grin at her dramatic words. "It seems fair though, that will sure be a good laugh!

It was strange for Evanee to have such a great conversation with someone. She didn't struggle talking with anyone, it was just hard to find people that kept her interested and didn't really bore her while still being nice guys that didn't end up creeping her out. Aaron was quite the diamond in the rough when it came to people she had met at a bar, he was nice and considerate while being humorous and easy going.

Evanee decided to take the plunge to extend the time of this connection they seemed to have. "Hey.. Keep in mind that I won't get mad or anything of the sort if you say no, but.. Would it be alright if we exchanged numbers? You're a cool guy and I'd love for us to hang out or something sometime! I still need to see those pictures as well!" She smiled at him, bracing herself for complete failure and rejection to her request.

“Absolutely.” Aaron grabbed his phone and unlocked it so he could create a new contact. “I would love to hang out with you more, if you’re always this fun to talk to.” He held his phone out, ready for her to put her number into it.

“You’re not about to leave on me though? I mean I would understand if you had to because you’re driving friends home, but I was just beginning to really enjoy myself. If I was a horrible person I would tell you to ditch your friends and stay out with me tonight.”

Evanee smiled at his quick, but positive response. She got out her phone as well and did the same, switching phones with him and setting up her contact, even giving him a funny picture for her contact photo. Evanee handed it back with a smile, looking at him. "I have a feeling that my friends will need to go soon because it's getting late and I don't want them getting so drunk that it hurts to move tomorrow!" She laughed lightly before continuing. "Also, if I were a horrible friend, I would totally take you up on that. You're fun to hang out with as well."

She took her phone back when Aaron was all done with it and let out a breath, glancing over to see her friends kinda swaying around each other while giggling from all the drinks in them. Evanee began to look at Aaron before one of them looked over to see her.. sitting with a guy?! Was Evanee flirting?! They quickly came over. It was a group of three, all the girls being rather different, but still very attractive. "Ohhhh, Eve, who is this?.. He's very cute." They smirked, assuming their friend with a drought of a love life was flirting and on her way to getting some.

Evanee's cheeks flushed up when her friends came over, looking at them. "Guys... Go away." The girls then squealed, one of them smacking her shoulder, but it didn't hurt. "You're totally flirting! When is the last time you spent this long talking to a guy?! You never flirt!" Her cheeks flushed up even more, embarrassed that this was being revealed in front of Aaron. Evanee glared at them. "... Go. Away. Please." They just smirked at her and went on their way, demanding details after all of this. She face palmed when they finally left before groaning. "I'm so sorry about that..."

Aaron took his phone back, looking at the photo she had added and chuckling softly, "I don't envy your friends right now, nor you because I feel you might be the type of person that will help them through their day tomorrow." He quickly added a photo to his contact in her phone before he handed it back to her.

He was about to say something more when they were suddenly surrounded by three other girls. He glanced between them all, catching on after a second that these were Evanee's friends. He watched as they teased Evanee, trying to get in to help her but the other girls seemed to be talking to quickly that he couldn't get a word in.

When they were gone Aaron took a breath, turning back to Evanee after he had followed her friends retreating figures. "Don't worry about it, they're drunk." He put a hand on her shoulder and offered a smile, "Besides, if you were flirting with me I would be honoured. I'm glad that we're not flirting though, because talking to you and getting to know you is so much more fun." He admitted, "They're just jealous that they don't have my attention at all."

Evanee smiled gently at him as he put his hand on her shoulder, kinda comforting her after the blow her embarrassing friends made. "Yeah, it's nice to just talk like normal people instead of lust driven animals." She laughed lightly before letting out a sigh. "But, I would feel rather good about myself as well if you flirted with me as well. Then again, an attractive man such as yourself has called me beautiful a few times tonight, so I'm just as happy with that!" She laughed at his comment about them being jealous, nodding. "Yeaaah, they probably are! Not everyday that you come across a man such as yourself!"

After a bit more conversation between the two of them, Evanee soon got the notice that it was time to go. She sighed, begrudgingly getting up before looking over at Aaron. "Thanks. This night was much more bearable for me because of you, I owe you one! Text or call me whenever you're ready to meet up again with those photos."
