It is the year 2075. Technology has become far more advanced than could have possibly been imagined by the people of the past. And most important of all these advancements is cyborgification. No longer is lost of body or organs a lost of life, now simply a hassle that can be easily solved. Most who accept replacing their flesh with metal live a longer and less stressful life, with some being able to do more than they could have ever dreamed of while being a "simple" flesh and blood human.

However, like all technology, there those who would use such wonders as a weapon. And it was with those people that killing people become far more profitable than ever before. With the most advance of modifications, a person could kill with a complete lack of evidence, not even foot prints in the ground. Cyborg assassins became the norm, and those wealthy enough became faithful customers.

People who can inject deadly poisons with a mere touch, people who can make a person's lungs close up if they get close enough. A person who can project ghost like images to distract their targets, as they sneak up from behind. Or even something as simple as grabbing a target from the back, choking and stabbing them, done with the utmost skill and efficiency. Cyborgs became the deadliest and most versatile weapons in the world, and murder became big business. Groups came into existence, each selling and advertising their cyborgs as the best killers in the world, putting money in the right hands so their illegal actions were never "seen" by the law.

In response, a rival business appeared. The business of protection. While normal guards, human or cyborg, couldn't dream of handling a assassin, a highly specialized cyborg personal bodyguard very well could. And for the most part, less expensive and easier to find than assassins themselves, so people who knew they were high profile targets felt a little safer.

Of course, they didn't realize most of the protection companies were owned by the same parent companies as assassin groups.


That is why a recent development has caused confusion. Lately, assassins have ended up dying hours after successful hit, while their targets end up alive and fine a few days later. No protection company would do such a thing, it would be a hit to profits in the long run, and make themselves a target at that. So, who is causing it, and more importantly, how?

One assassin group plans to find out, H.E.A.R.T. A comparatively small group, they have as much to lose from these events as anyone, and they want to ensure they don't. Sending a group of assassins after a target who had survived a previous hit using the mysterious methods, they plan to get the answers from him one way or another.

But, the answer will be far greater than one would expect.

1: They're be a semi posting order. Post in whatever order you want, but make sure everybody else has posted before you post again!
2: If there comes a time in the RP where your character has the chance to eliminate a target, please ask me before doing so! Simply in case I have something planned for them
3: Be chill to eachother now. We might be RPing criminals with little or moral code, but we don't have to act like it!

Assassin appearance: (The look of the cyborg body they take on missions. They looks for this vary extremely, but the "default" is a smooth and sleek armored blacked colored body. Of course, it can be modified however the user likes, and some people prefer to use all original parts than using "store brought" parts, so to say.)

Weapon: (remember, assassins! They like to be sneaky, so loud weapons are unlikely. Not impossible, mind.)

Major Abilities: (What makes your cyborg special. What can they as an assassin that brings them above those flesh and blood. Their major tools for killing, and lastly, things that can directly affect others. I would like a limit of 3 for balance, but just ask if you can have more, and we can work something out so your character doesn't end up over powered.)

Minor Abilities: (others, smaller things that their cyborg body allows them to do. Things that gives them an edge, such as minor enhancements to abilities, or smaller tools not directly related to assassinating. have as many of these as you want, but try to keep it reasonable!)

Backstory:

Civilian appearance:
Cynthia is a small woman, just breaking five feet. She's small and lithe, and is usually hunched over and slightly crouched, making her look even smaller. She has short brown hair that's spread out at the back, with bangs cut in a straight line. He face has deep blue eyes on a face that's ether emotionless or incredible bored looking. Her usual clothing is black shorts and a plain white sleeveless t-shirt.

Assassin appearance: Ghost's body is a stripped down version of the basic cyborg body. Sleek, smooth black armor, stripped down so it covers only the essentials, with nanowire "muscles" even being visible at her joints. This is made up for with the large mantle wrapped around her, hiding her small size and blurring her silhouette. Her head is shaped to look like a hood covering a shadowed face, blending in with the mantle. The "shadowed face'"is actually a monitor for her to display images on, the normal image being two white dots that look like eyes in the shadows of some unknown beast.

Weapon: Two sets of wires, one located in the lower fore arm of each arm. One is think and sharp for cutting and slicing, and the other thicker for tying things up or choking.

Major Abilities:
"Ghost" Mode:
Ghost creates a holographic copy of herself via nanomachines. Semi transparent, everything it sees Ghost can see. Due to the nanomachines being able to shift around objects, it can appear to be intangible as well.

Camera Disrupting Cloak: The cloak Ghost wears distorts the light around her, making her appear as nothing more than small orbs of light on camera.

Extremely Large Memory Storage: Normally a minor ability, Ghost can use this alongside Ghost mode. If she has the proper data on a person, she can form a hologram of them, along with copying their voice. This allows her to "summon" ghosts of those already dead.

Minor Abilities:
Enhanced eyesight and hearing
Image and sound recording

Is there anything in particular we should take note of when writing the character's backstory, or is it completely up to us to decide how they got involved with H.E.A.R.T?

Name: Veloce Alwyn

Code Name: Wasp

Age: 20

Backstory: Born in what Veloce would call the ‘filthy gutters’ of the city, an environment of drug addiction, crime, violence and neon lights did not bring about positive influences towards an impressionable child. It led to her fascination in the different aspects of drugs and chemicals, especially in relation to human anatomy; such knowledge managed to eventually grab her a scholarship to study a bachelor in biomedical science - the first time any member of her extended family has hoped to achieve a white-collar job. She currently lives in an apartment, barely scraping through her university degree whilst finding the time and money to pay said degree through the help of H.E.A.R.T, who in turn appreciated her medical knowledge and combat skills to solve problems. Additionally has a pet rabbit, who Veloce had jellyfish DNA injected into its embryo, allowing it to glow in the dark under UV light once born. Often visits her birthplace street to check up on the poor children that still manage to thrive there; has an emotional connection to the place. All in all, a typical, deluded and apathetic young adult with not much to lose, yet finds many reasons to smile.

Civilian appearance: Veloce’s bionic eye lenses double as her prescription glasses and are surgically implanted onto her normally brown eyes, so wears this piece of technology at all times. Has a curly, untamed black mop of shoulder length hair, with a bright blue streak in her side fringe, and usually wears black pocketed pants and her faved, cat-eared hooded jacket when dressed casually. Has a tattoo sleeve comprising of koi fish and flower patterns down her left arm. Average height and has a toned form. Hardly seen without a cigarette between her lips.

Assassin appearance: The usual, ‘default’ black uniform, with the additions of her goatskin-and-metal gloves and her custom arm and leg armour, as specified below. Also wears a jacket with copious tiny tubes, of different substances, stitched into the inside of it. Hair usually braided and tucked away on campaigns.

Weapon: Leather and metal-wired gloves, with little built-in portholes on the tips of each digit, to place syringes that Veloce may have on hand for a quiet and slick injection. At current, the tubes of drugs she carries consist of either lethal, poisonous substances that kill in a matter of minutes, hallucinogenic substances that distort the victim’s senses, or actual healing drugs and antibiotics for self/team use. Also carries a small but stubborn dagger for stabbing.

Major Abilities: Bionic eye lenses allow her to perceive surroundings through three main different filters: monochromatic, infrared and ultraviolet. Useful for detecting things such as hidden figures, chemiluminescence or other substances that appear differently in different light, and thermal imaging. Healing robotic armour (armour with custom, built-in medicinal substances) on her arms and legs allows the wearer’s tired limbs to regain strength, aiding one’s stamina. Can also heal minor scratches and bruises, but is not able to repair severe injury.

Minor Abilities: Is able to see her mutated pet rabbit glow in the dark through her ultraviolet light filter; a faved skill more important to her than her other minor abilities to record images and video through such lenses.

Name: Constantine Belmont

Code Name: Shark

Age: 24

Backstory: Unlike most of the other assassins, Constantine was more or less born into his position. His mother was an assassin, and he never really knew his father, which made it so that he was essentially raised from birth to function as a trained killer. Naturally, his mother was not cybernetic, but merely a skilled individual who worked hard to eliminate those lives that there were reasons to eliminate.

She shed absolutely no tears as 'Shark' as he had been so nicknamed began to become twisted and slowly took on an increasing amount of machine parts.

He had no fear about augmentation, as he referred to it, and did everything that he could to maximize his abilities as a servant to shadow organizations. Once he joined H.E.A.R.T., he ended up having a reputation for going above and beyond the call of duty, which is often very bad in this particular line of work.

On the other hand, he cultivates his skills to a point where this isn't too much of a concern, but he has made some other members upset in the fact that he might be a little too eager to volunteer himself for dangerous missions.

Civilian appearance: Considering that he wears a certain type of outfit, the need for making his body continuously flesh-toned is superfluous. Rather, Constantine is a relatively tall individual who has a tendency to wear thick boots, pants with a variety of straps and accoutrements and a variety of fabrics and fishnet that provide a futuristic appearance that provides little opportunity for anyone to take too much of a look at his body.

His head is actually still mostly natural, as is his actual spine, and therefore he doesn't have to do anything to hide this part of his body. In fact, he has a tendency to wear his hair up in a tight topknot.

Assassin appearance: Rather than allow his nanowire joints or anything of the sort to be seen, he actually wears a variant of the standard outfit that's been set with several glowing indicator lights that form circuit panels across his visage.

The entire setup allows him to receive information about his current status at a single glance, and he also can immediately find out if any of his power conduits have been severed in the slightest.

After all, if they had, the area of his body that they were affected in would immediately dim or go out completely. That's very important, he feels if he gets into a protracted fight. Then again, if he were to do this he would consider it a failure of his skills as an assassin.

Weapon: Instead of a more cybernetically-designed weapon, Shark has taken to a preference for throwing stars and darts. He doesn't use them with poisons, but rather prefers to rely on his advanced reflexes that are beyond those of a normal human to end the lives of his targets.

These sorts of weapons are also considerably easier to conceal than some of the ones that others use.

Major Abilities: Having cultivated his advanced reflexes and ability to jump and run on behalf of servomechanisms that are superior to the biological engines that run regular human being's muscles, Constantine has seen fit to focus his training on three individual areas:

- The use of projectile weapons

- Running and jumping, perhaps having taken some elements of parkour-maneuvers into his repertoire over time

- The use of vehicles, which has made him an excellent motorcyclist and pilot since he can make short adjusting and correcting motions in a way that humans cannot

Minor Abilities: While he knows quite well that many people cross train in a variety of different skill sets, Shark hasn't done this at all. It might look like a serious disadvantage to not have any additional notable abilities, but he considers it a positive boon.

The reason being, of course, is that it has provided him with additional time to hone his three primary interest areas instead of spreading himself thin. He might not have the widest array of skills to rely on, but he keeps those he does have quite razor sharp.
