History: His ancestor way back in his lineage whilst getting drunk was the first to be hit by the ambush. A flaming arrow into his foot. Quite by accident while running around trying to put his foot out he killed three enemies and alerted the camp to the ambush. Thus he was called Firefoot. He hated the name.
Lief is a widower and father of three. His wife, Maria Iz'Firefoot, died while they were on a raiding party when he was 24, 7 years after they married. His first son, Gunnar Ou'Firefoot, was born when Lief was 18. His second son, Sigurd Ou'Firefoot, was born when Lief was 20. His first daughter, Eir Iz'Firefoot, was born when Lief was 22.
Lief began training as a blacksmith when he was 10 and began training in the war arts of his people when he was 14. Lief began courting Maria when he was 16 having known her since childhood. When he was 17 Lief and Maria got married, and Maria gave birth to their first son a year later. After the death of his wife Lief became inconsolable often drinking himself into a stupor. During one of his drunken stupors Lief ran afoul of the Jarl and challenged him to a duel. Lief doesn't remember much of the duel only that the Jarl was calling him a drunken fool. The next morning when he awoke it turned out the Lief had killed the man in the duel. Due to the nature of dueling with a Jarl Lief woke to find that he was to become the next leader. The only reason he wasn't killed by anyone else during his drunkenness is the amount of respect he held in the community prior to his wife dying. Realizing the gravity of the position and knowing his kids still needed him Lief stopped his drunken binge. Of course this did not mean he was not often enjoying ale at parties.
