Full Name: Nadja Sik Solak Semnet Ruzhal T’planti Ya’Sima Duga Olu Sifa Deg’iskilki Kosallan Iz’Roczek

Species: Fox

Gender: Female

Age and Place of Birth: Thirty [30], Gizli Yangin

Appearance:
As far as one can see, Nadja is as normal a fox as they come. Her fur is deep amber, darker reds scattered throughout. She’s white markings, black for her hands and feet. But, within the fur, within the long locks of red atop her head, are the coming signs of strain on her body. It’d started at her temples, the hair there growing lighter and lighter until it became grey, nearly white. Then, it began showing in her fur. The reds that were so vibrant were now turning lighter. The black of markings were slowly becoming salt and peppered. It doesn’t change her views on herself, however, as she was always taught that to go grey was a sign of maturity, wisdom, and she embraced it as it grew in. Standing at five feet, eight inches tall, she was average height for a fox, with a slender frame, appearing almost fragile in comparison to the true power she possessed. Almost. Her form also held some curve, not too much though not enough to confuse her for a man, either.

When among her peers or at official events, she’ll cave and sport the fashions her island is known for, hair piled atop her head in elaborate twists and braids, wearing dresses with frills, collars and volume while remaining ever the modest garment; At least where showing the body was concerned. When not, she opted for simpler things, dresses with looser sleeves, long, flowing skirts, and a cloak to hide her identity should she venture into public at all, hood always up as a precaution.

Family:
Mother: Quorra Iz’Roczek – Alive and Well – Fifty [50]
    Father: Kelii Ou’Roczek – Alive and Well – Fifty-Three [53]
    Brother: Abiel Ou’Roczek – Deceased
    Brother: Gi Ou’Roczek – Alive and Well – Twenty-Six [26]
    Sister: Piri Iz’Roczek – Alive and Well – Twenty-Four [24]

Friends:
At this time, she doesn’t have anyone close enough to be considered a friend, nor does she talk to many. As with her responsibilities, her mind is generally preoccupied, elsewhere, leaving her outwardly demure and quiet, and closing her off to most conversation unless it’s of the necessary variety. That is apt to change, of course, should she have the opportunity to talk to someone for longer than a passing moment or should she not be wholly distracted with her responsibilities. Only time will tell.

She does, however, have a few acquaintances. One such acquaintance goes by the name of Errapel. Though they weren’t of the same island, her mother was originally from Piyric Silanck and insisted that she go there for her introduction to Alteration, to see the same teacher she did. They met through that, while she was still young, sparing the occasional “hello” and light conversation, but nothing more than that. Like him, there were others that she was around for an amount of time (some longer than others) before being shifted elsewhere to continue honing her skills and contact was lost.

Enemies:
There are none to speak of, specifically. She’s wary for a few groups, as are the other Divine Savants; Otherwise, things are quiet on the enemy front.

Love Life:
It’s nonexistent. That’s not to say she’s closed off to it, but more that (like her lack of friendships) she’s often distracted. With that distraction comes lack of attention to those around her. Add that she’s sterile, as are all Divine Savants, and she’s not sure what she has to offer otherwise.

Likes:
  • Silence: Her mind is often plagued with noise, and a lot of it. Her soul is attuned with many a soul, each saying something different to her at any given time. With her connection to the islands, to its people, and her predictions and visions, her mind tends to be a loud place. So, when she has time to be completely alone with nothing but the sound of waves or the breeze through the trees, she relishes it.
  • Dancing: Back when she was a child, dancing helped her remember certain gestures needed to perform certain magics. It kept her focused, happy, and was a guilty pleasure for a while; Even if there was no music heard to those around her, there’d be something in her head to dance to. Though it’s more of a rare occurrence nowadays, she still takes a moment every so often to dance, to take that moment to herself, and let go.
  • History: Though Olahn’s history wasn’t all sunshine, she liked knowing what had come to pass; To her, it was the clues of what could happen in the future. “You can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been,” was a quote she readily lived by.

Hates:
There isn’t much Nadja hates. Hate, to her, is too strong a word. But, what does make it on the list of “hates” would have to be:
  • Constant Vigilance: As with her station, her duty, she’s unable to ever fully relax. Her mind has too many jobs to do simultaneously, and slipping on even one would disrupt the natural balance of things with the other two, leading to catastrophic ends.
  • Prejudice based on the Unknown: Though she understands (in some cases) why there’d be a prejudice against those of the kingdom she so loved, she didn’t think it was fair that it be against everyone within it. Yes, the magic they could do wasn’t looked well upon, depending who you spoke to, solely for its uniqueness and lack of full understanding. That, in her mind, doesn’t excuse someone for hating them and their kind based solely on that fact. The only ones that had any reason to truly not trust or like them were the Akamu, of which they were wholly justified.
  • Violence as a Whole: She abhors violence, preferring to find alternative routes to solve one’s problems, no matter the issue at hand.

Fears:
  • War: While she knew it was silly to dwell on it, Nadja harbored a constant fear of war breaking out. The fear stemmed from her caring for her family, for the people as a whole, and what could happen should something happen they weren’t prepared for; Predictions were worthless if they had no way to combat what they saw.
  • Failure: It was a self-deprecating fear, but one she was petrified of. The reason she’d taken up the position in Olahn that she had was due to another death, the death of the Divine Savant before her. They’d overexerted their efforts, their powers, and lost their life in the process, their efforts in vain. Every day, she wondered if that’d happen to her, if something would become too much and she’d die in the act, whatever she’d been attempting failing, and leaving everything unbalanced. Not to be mistaken, it wasn’t a fear of death that worried her; She’d give herself over to their gods if that was their will, but to leave Olahn unprotected was what worried her most.

Strengths:
  • Articulate: Wise beyond her years, when she does speak, it’s with purpose. She doesn’t speak often, though, her mind always focused on the individual islands, the people, the predictions and potential threats to watch for. But, her words sound as though they’re from an old soul, from someone who’s lived ten lifetimes, and not her small thirty years.
  • Multitasking and Prioritizing: At any given time, she’s handling many things at once, but it’s her ability to make certain her list of priorities remains updated and streamlined that keeps her working efficiently and smoothly. While some don’t consider it a feat, to her…it is.
  • Curse Removal: Though she’s more than adept at every form of magic, Curse Removal is something she likes doing and prefers doing. To decipher the soul signature and counteract it, it’s one of the few forms of magic she still finds joy in, if only for the individualized challenges it presents.

Weaknesses:
  • Family: Her family is the one thing that, despite her training and mental drilling, she’d do anything for, no matter the consequences. If it came down to her family or everyone of Olahn…though she’d still go for the majority…she’d try for all she was worth to get to them first. It’s for this reason that they’re kept hidden within her own secluded area more often than not, for their safety and hers.
  • Introverted: Because of the nature of her responsibilities, her mind is often so far elsewhere that those around her and her immediate surroundings fade completely. When she goes out, she needs someone to remind her to keep alert outward as well as inward, often opting to let others run errands for her for the sake of her sanity.

Weaponry and Gear:
  • Satchel: On the rare occasion that she does venture outside her abode’s walls, she carries a satchel. Within it, odds and ends to perform rituals, spells, making no sense to the untrained eye what each could potentially help with.
  • Dress: The custom dress of Gizli Yangin is very avant-garde, but it was never her preference. Where her body was already under strain, the elaborate dresses they wear she views as a hindrance. Instead, she wears outfits just this side of fashionable, modest, covered, in pale lavenders and blues.

Training:
  • Magic (All Types): From a young age, she discovered her ability to control and learn each different magic, Sorcery and Natural alike. Though there was minimal training as her inadvertent affinity for it took hold with ease, there was still some to cover basics needed.
  • Minimal Hand-to-Hand: Where Nadja is hardly ever without a guard, nor leaves her residence, she didn’t see it as a need to learn much except the absolute last-resort types if she couldn’t get a spell off. Due to that, she doesn’t carry a weapon, but is instead more focused on weapons of opportunity.

Magic Path: Divine Savants are adept at all forms.

History: Character Biography (kept intentionally short. Motivations and a deeper look may come up within roleplay itself)
Nadja was born to Quorra and Kelii, two adept Naturalists. Second born after a first who was born without any hint of magical ability, they feared the worst, feared she’d be forever a second-class citizen in Olahn, no matter their power the family name held. But, they were relieved to find otherwise, rejoicing in her perfect conception. By the age of four, she was already on her way to surpassing her parents, having gone to another island to learn from the teacher her mother thought was best, removed from the public classes by age six as her schedule became too grueling for normal standards.

Because of this, the relationships she had with her siblings was fractured, weak. They had their good moments like every other family, but they had more bad to outweigh it. Abiel had been born with no power, and he’d resented her more than the others for it, until he died early on; She’d missed his funeral, not allowed to have her own time to grieve. Gi and Piri were close, two years separating the two, but Nadja had never been able to get a good relationship with them. When it came down to it, they’d close off ranks and she’d be left alone, with her notes, practicing until such time she knew it like the back of her hand.

By age eight, she’d graduated. It was uncanny, only one other surpassing her in ability.

After that, her life was normal, as normal as a Savant’s life could be. At least…until she showed her uncanny ability to control another power, a power that was frowned upon, but solidified her place as a Divine: Necromancy. It’d been an accident, while playing on her family’s land, near the water’s edge. While skipping beside its edge, she danced and drew shapes with her feet, oblivious and unaware of what was going on about her.

But, her inability to focus was her undoing as the fragile snapping of bones breaking pulled her out of her inward reverie to find a fish beneath her foot. Eyes widening, tears instantly brimming, she dropped to her knees, shaking her head over and over as the once floundering fish started to stop attempting to breathe. …And then something she read came to mind. Taking up the hand gestures she’d read about, the words the spell spoke of, she brought it back to life.

Dark Art though it may be, it provided the last piece of the puzzle. Her parents, though mortified she’d practiced, were thrilled, sending word right away to the grouping of the Divine, alerting them of a fourth that had been born, just in case they ever needed her services. Not that they did, mind you, as they had it aptly covered, but her name was there if ever they needed her.

The Death came around her fifteenth birthday. She’d been at home, reading books on the other kingdoms, when the guards came to collect her. To replace the fallen Savant of the triangle. From them on, they were relocated, further away from the water’s edge and more inland, their home surrounded by walls, guards posted. She didn’t leave the grounds often, not after finding out everything her life would then entail. Nadja said little after that, more focused on the islands, on its people, on any threats that were perceived. And, where she couldn’t get silence anywhere else, at least when she said nothing, she didn’t add to the noise. The only people she saw after that were her family, her guard, and her fellow Divines.

To the outside world, the Olahn are self-sustaining, their lands like any other. To the people of Olahn, most thought the Divine Savants were myth, never seeing one themselves, as was more of a preemptive, protection-based thing. But, to the Council of Four, she and the other two were the royalty, infertile though they may be. Without them, their kingdom would cease to exist.

Without her, their kingdom would cease to exist.
