The map above gives a rough display of the layout of the kingdom.
1-Mountain Ranges
2-Cinder and Ash Market
3-RyDauge City
4-Cascada
5-Mines deep within the Mountain
6-The Gauntlet

The places with the blue haze are the main gates to enter the various sections of the city. The Hatchery is located high in the mountains, basically above Cascada.

C O D E OF A K A M U
"Together we are strong, together we survive, by bonds born of blood and Kingdom do we die"~Akamunari

This is the code that all of Akamu follows and recites the day they join the military. It is an oath taken, sworn in blood and sweat through the trials that they all experience while training in the military. The whole of the Kingdom is one large family, a family that is as strong as their weakest member. Strength is honored and respected, but it is not just the strength of the body that they hold dear. They value each member of their Kingdom, because everyone has a purpose and everyone can contribute to the betterment of the whole. A physically weak individual may be skilled at tactics or raised a new breed of Roc. It does not matter, as long as everyone pulls their own weight and help the whole of the nation survive. Everyone is cared for, this is why there are no poor, hungry or sick. If someone needs something others provide for them, with the understanding that this person will return the favor and pull their own weight. Those who do not follow this creed and choose to be a burden are given but one chance to reform and must pay in blood to show their dedication to their family. If they squander that chance then they will be one of the few who are deemed unworthy and useless. Following a public flogging, their hands are chopped off and they are branded on their foreheads for the useless burdens they are before being cast out into the world.

Because feats of strength are more important to the people of Akamu, names are often followed by a word or name that reflects their personal skill. The Queen, for example, is "Maka Petre-Gavril Dracul", which means "Strong as stone, chosen Warrior of God and Tamer of Dragons". As such, titles include:

Warrior
MANAUIA [Ma-Na-ia] - The protector of the City, essentially the general in charge of the army and protection of the Akamu people.
BOIAN [BOW-EE-ehn] - A common title given to all who are just warriors. "Boian-Dracul" are the elite dragon riders of the nations, part of the royal guard and having earned the right to have a dragon of their own.
BANA [Bah-NA] - Elite group of warriors who are trained to specifically fight and neutralize mages. In a word, they are the Inquisitors and answer to the MANAUIA [Ma-Na-ia] directly.
BOIANYOTL[BOW-EE-ehn-YO-tl] - Retired Warriors that are now trainers for the younger and newly recruited.
Blacksmith
BENIPÉ [Be-nip-E] - Common Blacksmiths, though skilled in their own right, they do not however handle the Azurnium Ore.
SUYETA [Su-yea-ta] - Chosen Blacksmiths. They work with the Blue Ore, specifically, and there are only ten at any given time. Due to the process of their becoming the chosen all are rendered blind so that they can gain the special sight needed to work the Ore.
Healer
AMANAKI [A-man-A-kee]-These are the healers of the kingdom. Trained to use the natural herbs and minerals from the earth to take care of anything. From the common cold, to even the most lethal of wounds. Along with their training they are taught how to not only heal but enhance the scar so that it heals clean and can be something proudly displayed. Think Combat Medic for they are trained with the same weapons and skills as their more aggressive charges.
Miner
    BEDROS [Beh-Dros]
Merchant
    ARJAN [R-Jan]
Rock Breeder
SVERRIR [Swer-Vir] - Large, flightless birds. The main means of transportation for many in the area due to the climate.
Common Citizen
OLEK [O-Lek]-These are those who have immigrated to live in the mountain kingdom.

Everyone is treated as an equal within the lands of Akamu. The only ones who are given any kind of hard time are the magic users who think to travel through the lands. In the Capital,
they are watched like criminals and have no rights should they fall prey to an attack or harassment.
Because of the equality, that the genders share that means that they are not opposed to same gender relationships. As offspring and children are tended to by the community as a
whole, for they strongly believe in the notion of "It takes a village."

Due to their connection to the earth and their reliance on blacksmithing, they worship only three of the Gods more prominently than the others. The Akamu worship Gatli, the god of
glory and honor won in battle and Osuraz, the god of fire, tamed for safe use. And of course, Nur, the God of old who lead them to their current home and blessed them with the metal.

Strong populace of warriors who are made and tempered in the hard and rigorous training that every member goes through and continues to practice. In a sense the whole Kingdom and
all its citizens are an army, granted that only those between the ages of eighteen and fifty-two are still in active duty; since after the age of fifty-two they are "retired" usually taking a position as instructor to the younger recruits. The army is apprised of both men and women, though it is understandable that when a woman has a child that she must take some time off to bond and care for the child until the time it no longer nurses from her. Being such her people follow the "It takes a village" policy and so all the children are communally raised and tended to by designated caregivers while their parents are at their shifts in guarding and patrolling the area.
Favored weapons of the military is the spear and shield. Each citizen is trained in combat that focuses on group offense and defense. A single warrior is still an effective opponent, but
their true power comes from their well organized units.
"Azurnium Ore" is a bluish ore that can only be found in the heart of the mountains is the most prized possession of the Akamu. Said to be given to them by the very Gods themselves
and possessing unique properties that have shown to negate magic. This ore was crucial in the defense of the kingdom during the war with the magic kingdom. Only a select few blacksmiths are even allowed to work the metal and those are sworn to a life of secrecy. As part of their final training they are blinded before being allowed to work the metal, as that was the way their ancestor worked the metal.
The weapons that are made from this ore are only used when going to war or when trade with the magic kingdom (which is rare). Otherwise, common steel is used for most other

The Dragons of Akamu are typical in the fantasy dragon sense. Large powerful and imposing they are capable of great feats of strength and aerobatics. All breathe fire and in times of combat they wear armor made from Azurnium. Even when not wearing the armor all dragons are immune to sleep and mind control spells. They bond as a hatching to their chosen rider and the two are bonded for life. Should either die, a dragon can never get another rider and a rider another dragon. Their coloring varies and can be as dull as brown or as vibrant as silver.
Maximum Height: 15 feet
Maximum Weight: 160,000 pounds
Maximum Wingspan: 80 feet

Because of the yearly warmth of the area, the clothing tends to be sparse to allow for freedom of movement. This means that the males are usually topless with the females only
wearing enough to cover their breasts, which is paired with loose fitting pants.
Dying fur into outrageous colors is rather fashionable now, though most of the warriors tend to go with more war and tribal based dye accents in their fur.

For all the tough exterior and warrior nature, the Akamu are a physical and affectionate people. Families hug often, touch one another or touch foreheads to one another. The latter is
often done between siblings or “brothers in arms”. Soft words, murmured in greeting or in farewells are exchanged. Sometimes even a whispered prayer to their patron Gods to watch over and protect them. This also being said they are fond of playful punching and wrestling.

There are no rules or laws that require a pair to be married before they decide to have a child. This is largely due to how the children are raised and nurtured by the collective. The child
knows of who their parents are, but have several "siblings" all of which is kept logged to prevent accidental inbreeding. There are blood siblings, then pack siblings. Marriage is done out of love and desire rather than political means.

When it comes to food and the diet of the Akamu it is much like the rest of their culture bold, spicy and hearty. Their main source of meat comes from the fish they capture in the oceans, as well as the meat they have managed to get from the giant lizards and birds of the area. Common roots and plants often accompany meals as well, while also being brewed into a tea or other such warm beverage.

Meat
Salmon, smelt, bass, trout, sturgeon, etc, alligator
Plants
Arrowroot, bearberry, black birch, black mustard, bulrush, buttercup, cattail, chickweed, chokecherry, coltsfoot, common pantain, dandelion, elderberry, evening primrose, great burdock, lamb’s quarters, milkweed, mint, ostrich fern, purslane, stag sumac, stinging nettle, thistle, watercress, wild rose, wintergreen, wood sorrel, yellow clover, yellow waterlily

Music is a vital part of Akamu life. There is rarely a time when there is not music of some kind that is being played or sung. Music is how they express unspoken emotions, get pumped for an event or fight and most importantly it is how they communicate and praise their patron gods.

Akamu-Plot

As of late some of the farmers and Roc breeders outside of the Kingdom walls have been reporting of some unusual activity among the wildlife in the area. Game animals that usually stay clear of any settlement have started to venture closer and closer, with even reports of livestock (including prized Rocs) that have been taken in the middle of the night. The Queen has put out a call to those interested in investigating the disturbances and plans on forming a party or group to go out and find the answer to this concern. No reward will be given because there is honor and heroics to be gained. However, those who manage to help with this matter, may find themselves with a new rank or title.
