It was becoming dark, the sun was setting over the trees, and dusk was settling in as the night started to take it's place in the small village of Somerset. Crickets chirp, birds coo to their kind, and the sounds of nocturnal animals beginning to wake from their slumber begin to fill the air all around. A gentle breeze blows through the trees, making the leaves rustle, and the branches sway.

Though the whole place had what seemed to be a nice atmosphere, calming and quiet, that fact was overrun by the daunting detail that this village...was completely empty of people. It had an eerie feel to it that was in balance to the calm and quiet. No sign of any human could be seen, even though the houses seemed in good condition, despite their Old English appearance, made of stone, wood, and mortar. The cobbled streets were empty, and no fires were lit in the old fashioned lamps that lined the stone sidewalks. Shrubbery and flowers grew neatly in gardens or potted planters, grass grew wildly, uncut and shaggy.

Even though it was a creepy place, a small van could be seen winding through the woods that led straight to that very village, the vehicle containing a mother, father, and their son, having decided to take a sudden mystery camping vacation, the trip was to last two weeks, or even longer if the parents decided to stay. The woodland animals flee when they hear the engine of the van coming near, and birds call out in warning.

In shadows, somewhere in the village, something stirs. Inside one of the houses, a large stone cottage, in a bedroom, a pair of eyes slowly open, revealing glowing blue green eyes, as they do. The being in question could sense what was nearing ever closer, and moving quite fast. A frown tugs at solemn lips, and eyebrows press together. What was going on? Why were there visitors, now of all times? Standing up, they go to the window of the room, and looks out, opening the window to lean outside, a few of the ravens and crows hop aside, but do not fly away as some might expect them to do. They look at him with beady eyes, but he pays them no heed.

The boy, or so it seemed he was, was unique. He wore what appeared to be a prince's war outfit, of the old fashion, his hair was a light blonde, and around his neck was a ornate silver locket. At his waist, connected to a silver chain, was a old fashioned wind up pocket watch, that was still at the moment, it's hands still and not moving, stuck forever at the time that read '12:01'. His hair was disheveled at the moment, having just woken up, and his clothing had a bit of a wrinkly look to them. But that did not matter. He was more interested in finding out what was going on, and just who was making their way to the place.

"Seems...we have visitors."

Inside of the van was relatively quiet. No one said a word to each other unless it was the parents who were constantly arguing about which way to go but after finally making it to the village all words fell silent as they on looked the Natural beauty of this abandon wonderland of Mystery. The boy sitting in the back had fell asleep on the way there holding his sketch book in his arms with his headphones one as usual, But he'd awoken thirty minutes ago when his parents started bickering. His bright Blue eyes looked out the window as he searched for any signs of life, and yet he found their to be none.

Most of the Buildings looked old and decayed, Brick and stone lose on the road and some of the buildings were falling apart. The town was over grown with vines and tall tree's. If you didn't know what you were looking for, it wouldn't even be visible from the sky. His parent's had to ask around the town that was around thousand miles away from them now. It almost seemed depressing that no one was here, he had no one to talk to, and his friends couldn't come a long because they had to stay in school (which is where he'd rather be) But he did Have to admit that the nice fresh air would help him relax a little bit.

His eyes widened a bit, as he pulled the headphones from his head and let them hang around his neck, swearing he heard some one call his name. He turned his head and mother was his mother staring right back at him with those equally blue eyes. He and his mother did look a lot alike in some ways, as the rest of his family would say to him, But he supposed he had more of his fathers personality, (other than the extreme excitement for mysteries, one thing they hadn't had in common.)

He cleared his throat before speaking up "Yeah Mom?" He blinked his eyes slightly awaiting for her to explain the details of their trip To him.

"Do you want to eat something before we unpack the supplies?" She asked him expectantly tapping her finger on the arm rest of her seat. They must be getting close to their "camp site" if she was asking about food.

"Ah no mom I can wait, " The Boy grinned, all though he seemed nervous. They'd have no electricity or food for a week. The only thing he was left with as far as electricity was his phone, and his portable charger. He'd have to live without wifi in the middle of no where for a week and stuck with no friends....Wonderful...How would he survive for two weeks out here? "Ill be fine." He shortly regretted speaking too soon.

As the van makes its way closer to the village, a flock of ravens takes off from some nearby trees that edged the old dirt path that served as a road, their raspy voices echoing in the emptiness of the village. Even from there in the town watching from the window in the house at the center of the village, the unnamed male could see everything, eye sight as strong as a hawk's. A curtain shifts in one of the windows nearby, as it falls back to cover up the glass in which the young male from before was staring out of, watching as the vehicle came even closer, and he could see three people inside it.

His eyes narrow dangerously as he crosses the room, his arms folded neatly over his chest. Even though he had felt like something was coming, he had hoped he was going to end up wrong, and was disappointed when he was right. These strangers were not welcome here. It was unthinkable that they stay. He wasn't going to accept their presence, and he'd do all he could to get them to leave, before they got hurt. By either him, or the town itself.

Clasping the locket around his neck, he exits his room, and descends the steps that led to the first floor of the house, and goes towards the back, leaving through the back door, away from the the direction of where the van was coming from, so that when they did arrive they would not see anyone come or go from the large, and well kept cottage. He'd rather keep it that way, if he could chose at least one thing that goes on.

He walks down a path of rocks that was lined by a set of bushes, until he reached a large hedge, which blocked the backyard of his home, to the wild woods. His own backyard was quite wild itself, with overgrown grass, and a crap ton of bushes and flowers everywhere, it was like a jungle. Also, there was a small covered well, with ivy growing around it, and moss on the rocks, as well as the path.

Pushing past the hedges, he exits the backyard, and steps into the forest, a raven almost immediately landing on his shoulder, and he reaches up, gently running his fingers along it's glossy feathers. "Hello Ebony..." It eyes him, ruffling it's wings gently when he walks forward. After a moment, he arrives at a large woodland lake, and looks out on it, staring deep into the water. He sighs, and turns away, staring up at the sky.

Then, lowering his gaze he opens a small locket, similar to his own, that was around the bird's neck, the silvery piece of jewelry glinted in contrast to it's jet black feathers. For a second the small mirror within it glints, almost glowing, before he closes it again, and speaks to the bird. "You know what to do...watch them for me. I won't make them leave yet...but for now, they can stay. I'll see what they do. But in the end, they must leave..." The bird shifts, then spreads it's wings and takes off, heading back into the village. It flies then towards the van, spots it, and glides along the vehicle, it's beady eyes watching the family of three, easily keeping up with them.

And, from a safe place, the male stares at the locket in the palm of his hand, which lay open. An image shows in it, of a family of three, himself, a woman, and a man, both two whom he didn't know who they were. He guessed they were his parents, but he could not remember, it was all to fuzzy and blurred, not coming in clear. Because unfortunately, he suffered from that annoying condition known as amnesia.

"I have to figure this out. Before it's too late..." He murmurs, sighing and closing the locket, and placing back around his neck, slipping it beneath the collar of his shirt. It rested gently against his chest, and he heads back to where he'd come from, climbing back into his yard from the hedges, and going back inside, returning to the room upstairs, and glancing down from his window, shifting the curtain only a little bit, so only a tiny sliver of dim setting sunlight could get through, as he watched as the van arrived.

The Van parked in front of a cottage and the Engine Silence almost instantly as it parked in front of the old rickety house. The Family of three began piling out of the van looking up at the house in amusement. The boy almost stared up at it in dis-interest. how ever he was contemplating its design and how it might look on paper later. After the parents exchanged a few words the family began un-packing the van of the tents, coolers and funny looking technology they had and dragged everything into the house. He didn't have that much except his suitcase, his phone, a messenger bag full of art supplies and his sketch book that he held firmly to his chest.

He walked around the inside of the house, and within was some....Interesting furniture. It looked old and dusty...maybe Victorian style. But other than a few seats and tables the house was relatively empty. It made a funny howling noise when the breeze blew through the old wood and rickety plumbing. The living room Area was pretty big, and it went into the dinning room and a small kitchen at the other end of the house. The rest of the rooms were upstairs but the stair case was broken and he probably wouldn't be able to go up their, but as far as he could see, this place was probably the better stay out of any of the other establishments in this town.

His parents began setting up the ten and his mother offered him food while his dad worked on the setting up rooms and things. Again he shook his hand and disregarded his mothers wishes for him to eat. Usually...He wouldn't turn down food but his eyes were busy exploring the premises. Once his dad set up his tent he pulled his stuff inside of it and set up the blankets and other things and then closed the small door to change out of his school uniform. He had to come here straight from the school with his parents and didn't have time to change. He pulled his glasses out of the small pocket of the front of the jacket and put them on, then he stripped down to his boxers. He pulled on a pair of jeans and an over sized sweater over the t-shirt he was wearing , and left the tent with his messenger bag and his sketch book. Before his parents could blink he shouted, "Im going to go out an Explore, catch you later!"

"Wait Young man-" His bother grabbed him by his sweater before he could escape and he looked back at her with a small roll of his eyes and gloomy stare, He held his tongue being polite instead of complain. " Take this with you. You haven't eaten all day..." His mother handed him a small bag with a sandwich inside and a juice pouch an he smiled in delight of food. Sandwiches were very appetizing indeed. "Have fun But don't stay out until dark." She kissed the top of his head only to earn one of those 'you're embarrassing me mom' groans.

He slipped out of the house and went outside letting out a huge sigh. He went down the first few steps brushing off his clothes as if they were dusty. He paused, Looking up at the small bird that was perched on top of their Van, But he thought nothing of it. With a shrug he started walking down what used to be a street, Munching down on the food his mother gave him. Exploring in an abandoned world with nothing to do, was a rare thing to experience.....If that meant getting away from his parents for a few hours.

Staring out the window, he noticed that the group of three come closer to the house, as if they were thinking of coming inside. He carefully shifts the window cover a but more, to hide himself, but it wasn't necessary because none looked up to the window above them, instead focusing on their equipment in the van. From what he could tell, it was a family of three, a mother, father, and son.

He was about to leave from the window, when he suddenly notices they finish unpacking, and, to his utter horror and shock, began moving towards HIS house! "What the bloody hell do they think they're doing?!" He exclaims, voice incredulous. "Why, of all the houses they could have chosen, did they pick mine?" He knew he didn't have enough time to try and lock the front door to prevent them entering, but he does lock his own door, floor boards creaking as he walks across the floor to do so. Though it was pointless that he did, as the stairs that led to the second floor were in such terrible condition it would be thought suicide to try and go up them.

All the locks in the entire town were old fashioned, most being for skeleton keys, and his house was no exception. Everything about the place was old, but surprisingly in good condition. He could hear as the family entered the house, and began to look around, setting up their things. Each if these rooms were old fashioned and well furnished, with fancy big beds and other ornate furniture. Despite it being filled with objects, furniture, and other things, it was still rather dusty and old, filled with cobwebs and dirt. Most of the mirrors inside were so dirty you couldn't see your reflection. And for the water supply...it was either a pump faucet, or a well. Upstairs, one of the more special rooms was located next to his own, his own door having a large fancily written letter 'K' on the front. His was the only room with a door that had a letter.

He feared that the others of the house would be a bit more trouble, knowing how they felt about intruders. And sure enough, he could feel as one began heading to where they were, and it took all he could to just forget about keeping hidden and going to stop them, but he did not, staying in his locked room, silent on his bed, hoping that they, the others, would just let the newcomers be for now.

As he sat there, a new presence had arrived, and not before too long, had found one of the people, the young boy, and stepped out to greet them. It was a male, with medium brown hair, olive green eyes, and pale skin. He was wearing, of course, old fashioned clothing, including a white shirt with a brown vest over it, brown pants, a long navy blue overcoat, and thigh high black boots. Despite his appearance, he seemed to be entirely human.

Smiling as he made his presence obvious, he bows in greeting. "Welcome! I know what you're thinking, 'this place is supposed to be empty' but every place like this needs a guide and someone to provide things, right? I'm just that person! Apologies for not greeting you sooner, I had things to attend to. By the way, my name is Kristoph Henrichs. It's a pleasure to meet you." He bows again, his voice having a very thick British accent. He looked quite alive, and very solid.

Sighing in relief, the male upstairs relaxes. It was just Kristoph. He was decent. But the others, not so much. Laying down on his bed, he stares up at the ceiling, wondering how things would play out and end up. If they found out the truth, what would they do? Run like the others who came before them? Or would they be different?

The boy was a bit startled when he saw the other male...Pop out of nowhere? When the Male came out in front of him he shrieked throwing his sketch book in the air as hand went to the collar of his shirt, a reflex to protect himself from any kind of danger that may have been coming at him. The sketch book went to the ground, leaving the two of them in silence. For a long moment none of them said anything but the boy spoke first, and he found himself becoming at ease with this stranger.

After hearing him introduce himself he felt slightly less worried, and began to blush heavily with embarrassment, "O-Oh, UHm, It's nice to meet you. I'm sorry I wasn't expecting to see anyone around here." In all honesty, he thought this place was a ghost town, Abandoned, perhaps it wasn't? Or maybe this kid was from the next town over. It wasn't that far from here. He picked up his sketch book and began to brush off the dirt from the cover, clearing his throat and adjusting his glasses. 'Maybe Mom and died were wrong about this being a ghost town.'

"Im Elijah by the way. We aren't really from her but, we heard this town was abandoned and decided to spend about two weeks here." Out of whim but her didn't add that part in. His Eyes became a little bigger and rounder as he began to smile, moving his hair behind his ear. Playing with his hair often became a nervous habit for him when meeting new people. "So if this place isn't abandoned....where is everyone?" It had to be right? All of theses places were dusty, abandoned, most of them falling apart from water or mold. It couldn't be that this boy, Kristoph was alone here...was he?

Deciding to just let Kristoph do his thing, he turns onto his side, and closes his eyes, falling asleep almost instantly. If there was anyone he could absolutely trust, it was Kristoph. Then again, there were a few others, but Kristoph was the most reliable out of all of them. He sighs in his slumber, hoping that when he woke up, it will have turned out to only have been a dream.

A smile plays on Kristoph's lips as he watched the boy's reaction, listening intently as the male introduced himself as Elijah. He looks to the way that Elijah had come before answering. "But that's it in itself Elijah. It is a ghost town. There are no people living here." Which was true. He wasn't lying when he said he didn't live there. "So your mother and father were completely right in their guesses." Kristoph's eyes twinkle lightly, knowing something that this boy did not.

Glancing around, he took note on how dusty the place was starting to look, making a mental note to take care of it later; though no doubt he would most likely forget, and it would keep on being dusty as it always did. For some reason this place never seemed to get any cleaner or brighter, no, in fact it just kept getting darker and more dreary. But that was what happened when a village is deserted, and left to rot.

His mind then wanders to other matters, sighing softly to himself. This would be interested indeed, knowing how THAT one didn't like visitors. And especially more so lately since the last visitors that they'd had, were extremely rude village guests. It was a miracle that he, Kristoph, had managed to calm the other down, that was how angry he'd been. Realizing he was drifting off in thought, he turns his eyes once more to Elijah.

"Now, I shall take my leave so you can get situated, or look around as you were doing before I interrupted you. If you ever need me, just call, and I will be there." Placing a large ring of skeleton keys down on a table, he looks to the boy. "You'll need these." He bows again deeply, before turning around and leaving the room, disappearing from view in the dark hallway. There was a reason he said the things he did about there being only one person living there. The keys set on the table held the keys to every house, room, and place in the town, all except to the door of the room room upstairs with the 'K' on the front.

Elijah shoved the rest of the sandwich into his mouth as he watched the boy disappear inside the house. He didn't quiet follow what he was saying, It's a ghost town....But their are people here? He picked up the skeleton key's on the table and looked them over with curiousness. Theses Key's looked really old, rusty maybe, but they were nice to look at. Almost Nostalgic.

He was outside now looking around the front end of the house to see how big it was. Before he wanted to go Explore the town but now he wanted to see what was around the house. He jingled the keys in his hand thinking about what could be upstairs. He walked back inside of the house looking around the living room again, His parents were still setting up their equipment no really paying to much attention to him. Downstairs wasn't to interesting. There was a dinning room, a living room and a kitchen, and hallway that lead to a washing room. He was more interested in the upstairs.

He stood at the edge of the Stairs now looking at the broken pieces of wood that had caved into the floor. Some of the pieces of wood the rest of the way up were sagging and looked a bit wet. perhaps from rain that seeped through the wood. He looked towards the living room , his parents, still not paying the least bit of attention, before turning his eyes back to the stairs. It was possible to get up but he'd have to be careful. He was lucky he was so light. He placed his foot on the first step, testing it before placing all of his weight on the first step. their was a small creak, and then nothing. He placed his foot on the next step, a creak, then nothing. The next step, a creak-SNAP!

He paused in mid step, grabbing the Handel from the stair well to hold on. The step was still standing thankfully but he had to be more careful walking up theses steps or they might be the death of him. He went up the next few steps being careful, and then we got up to the seventh step he stopped. Now was the difficulty of traveling up the steps that were broken. He thought about for a moment, and then the idea struck him. He shoved one foot in between the pillars that held up the bar and began maneuvering himself up the stairs. Surprisingly enough he was making progress, successfully evading the broken steps.

He made it up the steps and hopped away from the stairs and into the upstairs hallway rolling away to the wall. "Ahaha!" He stated proudly jingling the keys in his hand happily. He stood up brushing off his pants as he looked down the long narrow hall. There were a maybe three doors at the end of the hallway was one door with an imprinted metal 'K' nailed to the center of the door. "Lets see Whats behind Door number one." He chuckled to himself placing his hand on the door knob, and sure enough it was locked. He pulled up the Key and fumbled through the keys. They had numbers on each one but they weren't one through five they were more like scattered numbers between ten and 30.So he tried every key, and it wasn't till the third key that the door was open now. "So the 13th key goes to this door." He said to himself pushing it open to go explore inside. It was a wonder his parents didn't wonder where he was right now.

Eyes closed, he senses that Kristoph was gone, and now it was just himself and the visitors. Sighing softly, he realizes it had gotten louder, the voices were coming closer, and before he knew it, the boy he'd seen getting out of the van had climbed up the stairs, which was a feat in itself, and was standing in the same hallway his room was on. Right in front of his door. His eyes open quickly, and he sits up, carefully getting off of his bed, and halfway over to the door, his knob suddenly jiggles, a key was inserted, but of course it wouldn't open. He had the only key that went to the door.

Freezing mid step, he stares at the door, watching it jiggle again, hearing the breathing of the boy right outside. Hearing him talk to himself. His breath catches in his lungs, and when the door finally stops moving due to the fact that none of the keys would work, he sighs quietly in relief, before backing silently away and clambering up onto his bed again.

As he hears more movement, now that the boy had probably moved to another room, he sighs again. 'Why me?' He thinks to himself, closing his eyes and covering his face with his arm as he lays on his back. He was exhausted already, and he'd just woken up a few hours ago. This was ridiculous.

"Just go away!" He groans, his voice moving around the entire house, echoing all around every room, like a wind of change, or a ghostly wail. He hadn't even meant to say anything out loud, and cringes, rubbing his forehead with his fingers, now annoyed with himself.

A noise at the window distracts him from his annoyed attitude, a tapping sound. He lowers his arm, and looks over, seeing it was Ebony, who was tapping it's back against the window lightly. A soft smile forms on his lips, the large jet black bird always managed to cheer him up, even if it was just a little bit. Getting up from the bed, he crosses over to the window, and opens it, allowing the bird to hop inside, and onto his arm.

One would notice that these particular birds, both ravens and crows, congregated in large bunches around this house,a if it were a certain meeting place for them to gather. Most do not appreciate these birds, but he loved them. He understood them, and they understood him. He often associated himself with them, they were seriously misunderstood creatures.

Closing the window again, he sits on the edge of a chair in the corner of the room, smiling as Ebony rubbed it's soft, warm feathers against his cheek, as if trying to comfort him. He reaches up and ran his fingers against the glossy black body, an almost purr like sound coming from the bird. "You always know what to do huh...?" He murmurs, sighing softly once again.

He just wished he knew an answer to what he should do about these new people...hopefully they weren't planning on staying for very long.

He was quiet disappointed when None of the Keys work. how dare these Keys not work. He huffed mildly to himself, beginning to jiggle the door knob as if this might work some how, But this door still stood in his way. He stopped though, when he heard an unfamiliar voice on the other side. The first thought that popped in his mind was 'What was that?' and the Second was 'Is someone already living here?' He took a step back to see if he could hear anything else from a farther distance to see perhaps he could here something else, and their again was a muffled voice.

Elijah pressed his ear to the door, blinking curiously as he cleared his throat, "Hello....Is Someone In there?" He asked out loud hoping who ever was inside might be able to hear him, if their was someone there at all. When no answer came he sighed and moved away from the door. He was sure someone was in there....It could be just the old pipes, wind moving through them, sound like whispers and voices....and the house did creek. Perhaps it was just nothing. But then again after seeing one person here.....Maybe there was more.

With a mild shrug he pushed those lingering thoughts away and began to move away to the next door, trying out a few different Keys and One of them did eventually work. He let out a soft 'ooohhh' Sound when the door opened up for him, and with great pleasure, he Nosily pushed open the door to look inside. It was just a normal bathroom, with a large window on the other side, and two small beds that looked kid sized. This must've been some kind of toy room or Nursery in the past. Either way....It was cute to look at.

At that moment he felt inspired. He sat down on the floor outside of the door way, and opened his sketch book, beginning to draw with his pencil the way the room looked from his point of view. He liked these types of scenes. They were Unique in a way, and he wanted to capture its raw essence before his parent's touched it.

With his head leaning back, his eyes close, listening to the sounds of the house around him. And, from the silence, it seemed the boy who had been at his door earlier had found something to entertain him for now. Reaching out with a hand to touch the wall, he rubs his thumb along the grain of the wood. It was something he did to comfort himself in these particular times of frustration. When he wanted to do something, but knew that if he did it would cause nothing but trouble for mainly himself.

But then again, it would also cause trouble for Kristoph... because anything that happened to him, happened to that guy. Sighing, he lets his hand move to his lap from the wall, wondering what he should do. Would he end up doing what he always did and just leave the people alone until they left again, or would he interact? Because no one before had ever attempted climbing those stairs, because most people would be smart and know just exactly how dangerous they were. He didn't want the boy finding out about him, or the boy's, whom he assumed, parents.

Ebony moves from his shoulder, to the window, glancing at him. A nod from the male, and the particularly large raven leaves the room, flies out once, only to turn, and land on the windowsill to the room where the human was. She gazes inside, and from within her eyes, he too sees what is going on. So...the human had found his old nursery room...where he and...that individual...had once grown up when they were young. Now, he'd hoped it would just stay shut, closed from the world, so that he wouldn't have to deal with it...Sighing, he shuts off his mind's eye, allowing Ebony to keep an eye on the kid without him having to look in that room.

With this, he drifts off, and dozes to sleep, unaware that Kristoph had made his way up the steps, to quietly come up behind the human. Standing a few feet back, the British man smiles a little, seeing the open door, gazing silently inside. It had been some time since he'd seen the internal parts of any of the rooms on this floor. Coughing a little to let himself be known, he then speaks. "I see you've found a room you like?" He asks, eyes looking to the drawing pad, and the beginnings of a sketch.

Elijah had been doing his own thing, drawing the scene in the room from his perspective. Even when the little bird flew onto the window sill he added it into his canvas, finding the crow rather beautiful in the midsts of the drawing. Something secret, something hidden, but adding a touch of life to the room that was particularly dull. All of the toys were extremely old, and the floor was wet a molded, and he feared if he walked to far in it might collapse from under him.

Not to mention the book shelf was to dusty and Sadly the books looked rather molded over, ripped apart, and destroyed from whether. Left to rot and unloved for ages. The bed in the room was just a wooden frame without even a matress or box spring inside of it. The rocking chair across the room was busted up and ome of the legs were completely gone. There were roaches, spiders, puddles of water, ripped up carpets and the light fixture was coming out of the ceiling. This place was the definition of a wreck.

Elijah lifted his head looking around when he heard the noise. Then he looked up and saw the man behind him, letting out a startled gasp, how ever he looked relativly calm. He shyly hugged his sketch book to his chest with his arms, not knowing hed been watching him. "H-Hi....i didnt see you there...." He said pushing his glasses up the brim of his nos trying to hide his red cheeks. Then suddenly the thought ofcured to him and he got a better look at Kristpoh. "Hey...were you the one in that locked room? "He said beginging to stand as he stared blanlly up at him. "Theres a K om the door...and So I thought...well that maybe..."He didnt finish laying a hand on his cheek as he waited for a reply.
