High among on the treetops, he walked on silent feet, treading lightly over the damp bark. He paused briefly, crouching down, and sniffed the air. An unfamiliar scent, delicate in nature, met his sharply-sculpted nose, adept as any woodland creatures' as a product of his ancestry. He turned his head to the side, his pointed ears moving ever-so-slightly as he listened for any indication of an alien presence in the forest. This was his home--it had been for the entirety if his young life and for that of his family for generations--and it was his duty as such to protect it from intruders or any who wished it or its inhabitants harm. He could hear the canopy quieting, feel the tension in the abundance of creatures hidden in the branches around him. Something was off here, and he could not quite determine that which was causing the disturbance.

He descended to a lower branch and hid himself mediocrely, too intrigued to be more cautious, and he waited, watching intently the land beneath him. He was not unaccustomed to humans passing through the forest--travelers seeking shorter paths, children from nearby villages who wandered too far from home, and even quest-bearers seeking the fair folk themselves often found themselves lost within the depths of the forest, to be guided out by the magic and wiles of those whom they could only dream of meeting but would never truly see. Leaving these woodlands had only occurred on rare occasions, and yet he remembered vividly being in the presence of folk from far-off lands--the stubborn and strong dwarves in their mountain halls, the audacious giants of the Great Valley, and the malevolent trolls living in cave fortresses lined with the bones of the living and dead, among others. And yet, he could not find traces of any of them in that which he sensed slowly approaching his post now.

Unable to predetermine the origin of this creature, he resolved himself to patience and eagerly awaited it. Extending his arm some time later, he estimated that the sun had moved nearly a half-span since his descent to his present position. He suspected the trickery of one of his fellows and stood to walk away when he heard a rustling to his side. He snapped his head in the direction of the sound, his shoulder-length chestnut hair wildly swinging around his face like an auburn raven taking flight, and froze.

The young male strolled through the forest, a pleasant smile on his face. He was enjoying the feeling of the day's gentle breeze on his skin, of which plenty was showing. He was dressed, although only barely, in nothing but a pair of black fabric shorts which stopped above mid thigh, and were tight against the skin. Almost the entirety of his exposed body was completely hairless and perfectly smooth, save for his head. He had shoulder length white hair which occasionally fell into his face to be brushed away.

The young incubus walked along, his long tail swinging behind him, and his large wings folded against his back. He sang sweetly as he walked, his feet falling in rhythm to the music. With amber eyes scanning to take in the landscape, he noticed a creek in the distance, trailing along through the forest. He sped up his walking, practically skipping along now. He was looking forward to the water to soothe his parched throat, as he hadn't drank anything in several hours of walking this far.

Lilu arrived at the stream in minutes, pushing aside brush growing near the water to get to the bank. The water trickled lazily down the creek, light glittering off the clear blue water. The small stream was only about eight feet from bank to bank, and reached almost four feet in depth in the center of it. Wasting no time, he kneeled down by the edge of the water, scooping it up in his hands to drink. He drank the water as if it were nectar of the gods, quickly gulping down his fill. Deciding to stay for a bit to cool off in the waters, he stripped himself of what little clothing he wore, leaving it by a large tree a few feet from the bank of the stream. He waded out into the water, enjoying the cool sensation on his skin. He sloshed through the shallow areas near the waters' edge out to the deeper center before submerging himself completely. His soaked hair plastered against his face as he emerged from the creek once again. He ran his hands through his hair, squeezing out the extra water and moving it out of his face.

After lounging around for a few more minutes in the water, Lilu waded back out. He took a short amount of time to dry off sufficiently that he wouldn't get his pants wet before redressing himself and continuing on. He walked on through the forest, pushing through brush to continue on his way, accidentally attracting the attention of an unseen inhabitant of the forest in a tree above him.

(Note: Levainlain is pronounced "Leven'len.")

Levainlain stood still and stared at the snowy-haired creature which had emerged from the underbrush, not assessing him, but, rather, blankly observing with a pensive expression of wonder. He had seen many an interesting individual within this woodland, but he had never in his days seen something quite like this. Silently, he called a wisp and sent it forth to call to his aide Lominvorn, a companion and advisor to him, a demonic entity who took the form of a fox and whom he had trusted enough to become quite close to. He descended slowly from his post and tracked behind the new-come creature at a distance, not wanting to lose him while awaiting Lominvorn's presence. He had fallen a long distance behind his quarry and was quickening his pace to clear the span when he felt something unanticipated brush up against his leg. He leapt aside, landing on a fallen branch with a loud crack, and hoped that the white-haired boy-creature was far enough away to not have noticed.

Image

"Hello," purred Lominvorn from Levenlain's former position on the pathway on which he had just walked, though whether anyone else would consider it a pathway he could not attest. "You called?"

"For the Queen's sake, Echoing One of Darkness, you startle me."

"As I can see," the creature's quiet voice came, like wind rustled over it and swirled to meet his sharp ears.

"And what is it that you desired?"

"You might have noticed our visitor--"

"Incubus."

"What?" He sported a puzzled look on his face.

"You know, male sex demon. Just as conniving as you, and thrice as skilled."

"Ah." The elf tilted his pointed ears back ever-so-slightly in mock offence but smiled to himself at the thought of any creature being as manipulative as one of the Fair Folk.

"If that smile has anything to do with his species--"

"Nothing of the sort!"

"--I would not suggest it. They are dangerous creatures, even to you, Wild One."

"I had considered nothing of the sort! But even if I had, I would like to see the day that he has it over on an elf." He stepped forward and tripped over the branch which he had landed on, snapping it into further pieces. He just managed to catch himself and avoided falling to his face, which he had become good at due that he had always been ungraceful compared to the others of his kind. He cringed, realising that anything with decent hearing within a quarter-mile radius could hear him. He now hoped that the demon-boy-creature had managed a decent distance ahead of him, else he might find himself being the tracked rather than the tracker.

Jeremi padded softly through the woods, not so much caring who heard him as for what plants he might step on. The way he figured it, if he was stupid enough to get caught by a beast or get too close to a beast's territory and said beast was not that scared of him, he probably deserved to get attack. Besides, other than cutting down the predator, there wasn't much the blonde could do to defend himself. Sure, he had a sword, but it would take time to draw it and in that time so many of his vital veins or organs could be ripped or punctured that really, what was the point in drawing it to begin with.

The wind did feel nice, breezing through his baggy shirt and pants. Just the right outfit to go hiking around in a forest that could possibly be the death of him. The breeze carried the light hint of the herbs it grew. Mint. Lemongrass. Thyme. Even some of the flowers he could smell, but he knew they had to be much closer to him otherwise they wouldn't have been on the air for him to scent.

Deciding to follow the scent, he walked along the trails that others had created before him, loving the light and dark patterns that danced along before his eyes. As he came upon the flower in question, a loud crack sounded and had Jeremi freezing, hand on the hilt of his sword. His eyes quickly scanned the area, trying to pick out what would have made the twig crack so loudly. He figured it had to be something heavy and was not liking the possibilities that were running through his head.

Biting his bottom lip, he slowly knelt and did a quick study of the flower. Sighing as it was not the one he wanted or even really needed, he left it be. Turning his head once more in the direction of the sound, he ran his hand through his hair. He had two options here: Just walk away and pretend he never heard the sound at all. The pro would be he wouldn't be looking for trouble while the con would be that if whatever was out there had caught his scent, then he was royally screwed. The other option was to follow in the direction of the sound might have come from. The pro, if something was hunting him, the hunter just became the hunted. The con was he probably wouldn't be able to kill the unknown enemy which was a pretty big con in Jeremi's mind.

He finally decided that nothing ventured, nothing gained and headed off in the direction of the sound. This time, he was actually focusing on being as quiet as possible, but every now and then, he still cracked a few twigs lightly or rustled a bush. Not too loud, but anything with better hearing than a human could probably hear it.

Lilu continued on his walk, strolling through the forest. He began to notice that the woods were far too quiet, and found himself wondering how long it had been that way. He found it very unusual, and suddenly felt very isolated in the forest. He stopped walking, turning around and listening for any sounds that would give away anything strange. He jumped as a quiet, far-off, but sharp crack sound hit his ears, startling him. Breathing deeply to calm himself down slightly, he unfurled his wings from his back, ready to take flight should an immediate threat show itself.

He began to edge forward in the direction the noise had come from, being careful not to step on any sticks as not to make noise. As he moved onward toward the place the snapping sound had come from, he began to be able to make out a barely audible sound of voices. He immediately paused, stopping all movement as he tried to listen closer. When nothing came of it, still being unable to understand what the voices were saying, he stepped backward momentarily before another crack broke the near silence. Wings unfurling to their full wingspan, they gave a powerful thrust downward, sending him soaring up into the air, landing on a tree branch almost twenty feet off the ground. He sat silently in the tree, eyes keeping vigilant watch in the direction the noise had come from. Something seemed off about this. He could swear he felt a presence like a demon's, so silently he waited, wondering what could be just out of sight.

Seemingly out of nowhere, more sounds began to appear. The incubus's ears honed in on the sound of quietly snapping twigs and rustling brush, coming from the direction of the noise he had originally heard. Soon enough, a tall man emerged from the trees dressed in baggy clothing. Assuming this man to be the source of the original snapping sound, he winged down behind the man.

"So it was just you?" he questioned the man, a rather accusatory look on his face with one eyebrow raised. His hands were on his hips, his hips cocked out to one side. His tail wrapped around his right leg in an almost sensual manner despite the situation he was in, his wings once again folded against his back.
"Well that's kind of anticlimactic."

The elf began to walk forward along the path again, more careful now than ever to be silent. He had just taken a few steps when he heard faint crackling behind him, as if a creature were following him. He waded into the underbrush and hid off the path, sniffing the air. He scented something vaguely human and grabbed a vine, shuffling into the tree above him to seat himself beside Lominvorn, who presently found himself observing what was about to play out. Levainlain prepared himself to call upon the use of his magic to direct the passerby back to from whence he came, but as he watched the man pass from his spot hiding in the canopy, he noted that something was different about the man. He watched the man bend to one side of the path, and then the other, observing the herbs and flowers growing therein. I wonder if he's seeking something specific, he thought. He crept through the canopy to a bit ahead of the man along the path and sighted a spot. Focusing on it, he slowly wrought from the earthen patch a small, rare flower with certain uncommonly-known properties and then waited for the man to pass. He watched him stop, observe the flower, carefully cut it, and move on. Smiling inwardly, the elf turned to Lominvorn.

"How now, Lominvorn, that I should be in the company of a two demons in a day in these woods, and further in that of an herb-seeker?" He joked, clearly quite astounded by his discovery.

"Have you never been without of the forest, boy?" Lominvorn replied critically. He grinned mischievously at the elf-boy's lack of response and hopped to a nearby branch, and then another, on to see what was to come of the intruders, leaving the incredulous fairy to stride widely behind him to catch up, occasionally slipping and barely catching himself each time.

Levainlain began to slow and creep along when he noticed that Lominvorn had stopped and found a post upon which to sit and observe what he imagined was one of the intruders, but as he became closer he noted the scent of both the human-herb-seeker and the incubus. He stepped delicately onto a thick, strong branch above the two of them and listened.

"Well that's kind of anticlimactic," the white-haired demon said to the herb-seeker, his hands on his hips. The two of them looked as if they had not expected the encounter, leaving the elf to speculate the purpose of this grand exhibit. He took a step forward, paying little attention to the placement of his feet, and nearly stepped on a squirrel. It hissed at him, catching him off guard, and he jumped back, slipping on the damp bark and tumbling down into the underbrush just outside of the small clearing in which their guests stood.

"Blast," he cursed, lying on his back with his hair covering his face.

Jeremi had thought he was nearing the source of the sound, but actually could not be too sure. After that loud crack, he did not hear anything more. Maybe it had just been something walking and the sound had scared them as much as it scared him. Yeah. That had to be it. Nothing was gonna come get him or he had not wondered into anything's territory. Well...Any territory worth protecting anyway. In the words, everything belonged to something else and you could be certain you were almost always trespassing on someone's ground.

Just as he emerged from the trees and stood on a slightly wider path now, he figured whatever it was was long gone by now surely. He hadn't been aware that he was making enough noise to alert anyone to his presence, but taking out that fact, Jeremi thought he was fairly alone since no one or anything seemed to be in sight. He of course forgot to look up and when the Incubus decided to drop in on him from above, it nearly scared him to death. "By the Moon Goddess in all of her forms!"

Turning to face the voice that had startled him so, he ran his hand through his hair as he took a step back away from the male that had been behind him. The tail gave away this was something more than human and the healer had been raised up on enough stories to know that crossing anything magical was never a good idea. Cause you just did not ever know just what kind of magic they might possess. "I'm sorry to disappoint you so much then. And what are you talking about?"

Jeremi took a deep breath and let it out slowly as he took another step back away from the demon, feeling the plants brush up against him as he stepped onto the overgrown part of the path. He was trying to get his heart rate to go down, but was having little success at it. Did not help that he found the other attractive which just lead him to wonder the beauty of this male was natural or magical. He had seen glamours after all that could make the ugly irresistible and the pretty so ugly they were stoned nearly to death.

Before he could ask much more, the sound of a crash reached his ears and he started toward it. "What was that?" Taking a step towards the crash site, it never once crossed his mind that it might not be such a good idea. It had sounded like something falling and if that something was alive, it was most likely hurt and Jeremi wanted to help whoever it was. Moving carefully through the underbrush, he soon looked down upon the crasher. "Can you talk and if so, are you hurt anywhere?"

He was only half paying attention to elf (though he knew not what Levainlain was just yet) as he dug through his pack to look for anything that could bandage up a wound and was fairly sterile.

Fallen from grace, the elf shook his head as a wolf would, freeing his silky hair from his face. The thought suddenly crossed his mind that he should move before he was spotted, but, before he had the chance, he was approached by the herb-seeker, who bore questions concerning his state of well-being. He started and jumped halfway to his feet, pushing further to the rear until his back met a tree and he slid up it.

"N-n-n-no, I am well truly. Your concern is appreciated," he rattled speedily, wide-eyed and with a slight tremble. He disliked being in such a vulnerable position and considered running, but discarded the idea as he noticed the presence of the demon-boy standing a short ways off, great wings folded against his back. He then straightened, tugging at his sleeves, and donned a serious, formal expression, stepping forward and standing to his full height, his shoulders pushed back. He was put off to find that, while in this stance he was normally slightly taller than the average man, this human stood nearly two inches above eye level with him. He had always been short for one of the fairy folk, but now he felt minuscule. Nonetheless, with adjusted posture, he tilted his head up in a regal manner and looked the man in the eye, occasionally darting glances at the lascivious white-haired boy behind him.

"Now, then, I find that it is my duty to request of you both your reasoning for your presence is Krisnin Forest."

Lilu gave a small, almost melancholic frown as Jeremi stepped away from him, looking like he was a little taken aback. He couldn't blame the man though, he thought. He had just kind of come out of nowhere. Most humans didn't take to kindly to demons of any type anyway. He spoke regardless of the reaction though.

"You know, the noise. I assume you heard it too, it was pretty--" The incubus stopped mid-sentence, interrupted by the sudden sound of somebody crashing to the ground close by. He watched Jeremi immediately move towards the source of the noise, and after hesitating briefly, followed after him a short distance behind. He stood a small distance behind the doctor, wary of what or who might be on the ground. He almost hoped it was injured, it would be less dangerous that way most likely. He watched as Jeremi dug through his bag in an attempt to find something. He assumed it was medicine, but wasn't sure. After all, he didn't know the man at all, but judging from the possibly wounded man he seemed concerned about, it was likely.

Lilu's eyes followed Levainlain as he scrambled to his feet and adjusted his posture. He couldn't help but notice that he found the man attractive, but did his best to force that thought from his mind.

'How he appears to others seems to be important to him,' he thought, noticing how quickly he righted his posture and changed his demeanor. He took specific note of how the man held himself, and how similar it was to how the demonic royalty he had seen acted. It immediately marked the man in Lilu's mind as somebody to win the affection of. He started focusing on using his charm, looking directly at Levainlain's eyes to make eye contact at every opportunity in an attempt to get his charm working.

"Now , then, I find that it is my duty to request of you both your reasoning for your presence in Krisnin Forest."

The sentence caught him immediately worrying. In his mind, the statement meant he wasn't welcome without good reason to be there. He had wanted to stay in this forest, especially hoping to find where the elves lived, and possibly stay there. Even if it was just an improbable fantasy, he didn't want to give up quite yet, especially at an obstacle that would likely prove to be minor if handled well.

Looking at the ground, he spoke quietly, sounding sad and almost regretful. He was doing his best to get across the impression that he had no other choice, but he hadn't done anything wrong.

"I-Well... I came here to get a fresh start. I just needed to get away from some things, so I came here."

He hoped that with his combined charm he'd attempted on the man, and the way he spoke, he would garner some degree of sympathy from the man, possibly getting a better response.

Jeremi was still looking through his bag, only briefly glancing over as he noticed Lilu move closer to also investigate. "My concern is necessary. No matter what you are, falling out of...I'm presuming a tree, would still hurt." Coming up with a bandage, he swung his pack back on to his back. Fully study the elf in front of him, Jeremi had to force himself not to grind his teeth. Great. Royalty if the stance was any indication. He hated trying to treat royalty. If they did not like you you could get beheaded or even if you saved them you could get beheaded. Just his lucky day huh?

He started to edge around to the side of the elf, trying to get a glance at his back. He glanced quickly at the Incubus and almost wished he hadn't. While not aimed at him, the doctor still felt some of the charm. Firmly shaking his head, he decided to keep his eyes on the elf or the ground or the trees. Anywhere but on Lilu. "As for why I'm here. I'm a healer. I'm hear for herbs for medicine. If you don't like...I'm not that sorry, but good luck stopping me. I need the herbs to make medicine so I can help people. If it helps, I never take more than I ever need even when it isn't a enough."

Levainlain held his hand out firmly but gently to the healer, almost touching him but not quite.

"Worry not. I will be fine." He sensed that the two creatures before him were more tense as a result of his stance, and, finding them interesting, he was almost saddened by this, but he stood firm: they were strangers to the forest. They could bring it harm and it would harm them if they stayed long enough without the protection of anything short of the aid of the elves, he was convinced. 'Tis for their own good, he sighed inwardly.

"Now, as for why you two have come: demon-creature..." He began, but as his eyes met those of the white-haired boy, he felt a strong pull towards him. He found himself dazzled by his appearance and pitying of his circumstance, whatever it may be. His lips parted slightly, his head tilted marginally to the side. He almost took a step toward him when he noticed from the corner of his eye the healer glancing at the creature and then turning and shaking his head. Incubus. He pulled himself out of his reverie and straightened. He must be strong with them, he knew, especially now that trickery played a part in their interactions. Lominvorn's words ran through his head--You know, male sex demon. Just as conniving as you, and thrice as skilled." He began again.

"Demon-creature, I am misfortuned to inform you that you may not find residence with the inhabitants of the forest. They are creatures of magic and wiles, and do not but on the rarest of occasions take visitors. As for you, healer..." He focused on a patch of earth behind the strangers and quickly saw to it that it was filled with the variety of herbs which could be found in the forest. Though it was only basic magic, he felt somewhat drained from the action, most likely a result of the shock of having just plummeted from the canopy. He extended his arm toward it seconds later. "It seems as if you have missed your quarry."

He wished that he could read thoughts, so that he might understand the faces made by the men before him. He felt a distinct sorrow in his chest as he pictured them going on their way as he would send them, but he thought it for the best, and so he stood with an arrogant look on his face and watched the creatures' reactions.

The incubus stared st the ground, the reality of the dream he'd long wanted crushing to the ground. He'd spent several months preparing the perfect plan for escaping the demon kingdom. He'd worked so hard to achieve that feat, manipulating and seducing and secretly controlling at least fifty different demons. It was what was necessary to leave, as leaving was not taken lightly. The only demons that left the kingdom were either fresh exiles, or betrayers, which he now was. He could never go back now. Having performed treason just by leaving, he'd likely be killed on sight with no hope.

His eyes grew wet as he began to cry, feeling completely rejected from his dream. Despite his crying however, he was thinking hard about what Levainlain hado said, trying to find a worthwhile reason the elves might let him stay. Whether he found a way or not, he would use his crying to gain as much sympathy as possible.

"No... I.. I can't go back... I gave up everything to come here, what little I even had back there," he whispered, just loud enough for the others to hear him. He sounded utterly crushed. A slight hope filled him as he picked out something from what the elf had said to him.

"You said wiles and magic, right?" He spoke between sniffles, still crying.
"I have strong magic. I could try to teach it to you and the othe elves. Would that be reason enough to stay?"

While of course he couldn't teach them anything he could do naturally as an incubus, he could teach them divine speech magic. They already could control magic, so it shouldn't be too hard for theme to shape it with the divine words. He had a small amount of hope for his situation as he completely disregarded anything else happening, continuing to think how he could convince Levainlain to let him stay.

As he watched the young demon's tears flow, he felt the prick of his own tears welling to his eyes. He wondered what he had come from to make him so passionate about staying, and he was further intrigued by the prospect of what magic he might be able to teach the great elves--though he doubted not that he personally could be taught something, seeing as his skills in such were below-par for one of his kind. Nonetheless, he could not accept services for himself on behalf of the elven kingdom, nor could he deny services which might benefit them without their consent. Still, if he were to guess, he assumed that the elves would send the demon away should he ask--they were reserved and arrogant and did not often accept others amongst their wakes.

He held up his hand in a symbol meant to convey that he needed a moment to think, and he turned and took a few steps away, wiping the tears from his eyes as they formed. He thought about the home which he had wrought for himself over ages in the wood, far from the main city in which the other elves made their residences. He was a lonely fellow by choice and disliked being around such crowds. And yet, for some reason--preparation, he rationalised it--he had built a living space worthy to be comfortably inhabited by several others, should the need arise. He had designed it with aesthetic and yet it was functional enough that he could harbour the young gentleman, should he choose. Not to mention that it was well hidden. Pondering it further, he reasoned that he could take visitors there on a roundabout pathway to insure that they could not find it again by average means should they ever desire to for any reason to his misfortune. He sighed, straightened and turned back to face the demon and healer.

"Should you find yourselves in a position to accept my offer, I would like to invite you two gentlemen to attend my residence for an evening meal, and to rest the night, seeing as you are quite deeply entered into the forest and it may well be nightfall by the time you would return to your homes." Crossing his hand over his chest, he bowed gracefully and then resumed his pose, glancing betwixt them with an expression blank save for a delicate eyebrow almost unnoticeably raised as he awaited their response.

Telling someone not to worry usually had the opposite effect and it was true for Jeremi as well. Though he had to shrug it off. Fine. The elf not want to be heal and Jeremi could try and force but that always ended up so well. And by well, it usually meant that Jeremi was thrown into a dungeon for a couple of hours. The only up side to being one of the few people that could actually tell the difference between harmless ivy and poisoned ivy. It wasn't that hard yet apparently people did not understand the concept of three leaves on a vine means you do not touch it.

As the elf extended his arm, Jeremi tensed, fully expecting an attack of some sort until he realized the male had just been pointing to some plants he had missed. "Thank you." Moving off towards the plants, he bent down to study the leaves and stems. He mumbled to himself as he lightly yanked on his hair, jogging his memory. To pick the wrong thing wouldn't only cost him his life, but maybe many other's lives as well. The more he study it though, feeling his feet sink a little into the dirt, the more he realized that he really did not need any of these plants. Except for one and that one he couldn't directly touch anyway.

Digging through his bag again, he actually turned his attention away from the interactions of the incubus and the elf. By the time he turned back, the demon was crying and the elf was...Basically inviting them to dinner and to stay the night. That was different. Carefully bundling up the plant, he stuck it in his pack and slung it back onto his shoulder as he once more moved toward the other two. "That is awfully nice of you. What is the catch?" Normally, Jeremi wouldn't ask, but something about this place set him just a bit on edge. Maybe it was the fact that he was deeper into the woods than he had ever been before. In following the sound, he had not been paying attention to how far he was going into the forest. Not to mention the day was growing late.

"Forgive the rudeness of my question, but I just don't want to end up being feed to something in this place."

The elf tilted his head to the side, stunned by the healer's question. He was not offended, but instead rather caught off guard. But then, he thought, not all creatures were as subtle with matters such as this as he was, which was why not all creatures placed themselves into dangerous situations as he did. In this he respected the man, for he knew that he could not find the comfort to do the same in the situation.

He knew that the elves would not be pleased with him for harbouring strangers in the forest, but moreso he was afraid that they would send them back out of the forest, and in an act of selfishness he decided that he could not let that happen--he found these two interesting, and 'twas rare for him to speak with anyone from without of the forest. "The catch? The catch, young sir, is that you are reasonably quiet on our walk to my home and that you do not alert the other elves to your presence in this forest."

Wiping his tears, Lilu looked up, a wide smile on his face. He was positively aglow with happiness now, fully imbued with new hope. While it was only an invitation for one night, he was still jubilant. He practically tackled Levainlain into a hug briefly before leaning up to give him a quick peck of a kiss on the lips, which he hoped would leave the elf blushing at least a bit. He knew that while to him, a kiss like that could be taken as nothing more than a gesture of thanks, it was likely to be received differently by the elf.

The incubus stepped back from the elf, the same smile still on his face, but with a mischievous glint in his amber eyes. Staying the night and eating dinner wasn't all he planned to do, despite the innocent look of happiness he was portraying. Tonight, he planned to teach his magic to the elf, guaranteeing that he could be of use to the other elves. Hopefully they would allow him to stay.

'If I'm of good use to them, they can't deny me! Even if they do, I can still make this elf mine, then he'd never send me away,' he thought, planning his course of action for the night.

"I would love to stay the night at your house, thank you so much!. Perhaps tonight I could demonstrate the magic I would be able to teach you? Or possibly demonstrate some of my other talents~," he said, winking to the elf along with the innuendo.

'He will be mine,' he thought. 'I won't allow myself to fail.'

Jeremi thought over this for a second, even as he watched the incubus kiss the elf. Welp. This should be an interesting night to say the least. "As I'm sure he can attest," he paused to nod at the demon. "I apparently do not move as quietly as I think I do through the woods. That is how you knew I was coming was it not? I thought I was being quiet then since I did not hear any sort of sounds." He shrugged again, as he took one last look around the small clearing they were in to make sure he had not missed any of the herbs he was looking for. "I do not know if that would be considered reasonable or not, but I can be pretty sure that it might alert the other elves. Unless they are not normally on guard for such noises. I imagine you do not get too many visitors in this part of the trees. Am I right?"

He was merely making observations as his eyes searched the clearing. Not seeing anything of interest, he ran a hand through his hair before looking directly at the elf. "Lead the way. I'm Jeremi by the way." He held out a hand for the other to shake if he wanted too. He did not know elf greeting customs so he would just go with a human one. If he was embarrassed, he was embarrassed, but he saw no need to be rude. After all, he was going to be breaking bread and sharing a room and it was impolite not to at least know names. Least to him anyway.

With a little grin towards Jeremi, the demon confirmed what he had said about how quietly he moved.
"He's quiet for a human, at least. He's not entirely silent to sensitive ears, though one would probably have to be trying specifically to hear something to notice. I think he'd be just fine."

His hands were behind his back, his tail vining betwixt his fingers. He looked at Levainlain, then back at Jeremi before formally introducing himself.

"My name is Lilu Naamah, Resident of the Second Circle. It's been lovely meeting you." He bowed deeply and gracefully to each of them in turn. The greeting was the standard for demons of all kinds, stating their name then the circle of the kingdom they'd come from. This greeting was enough to tell a lot about a demon, some personality traits, and often what type of demon they were as well, if one knew the nine circles. The second circle, in which he had originally lived, was the circle of lust, inhabited primarily by succubi and incubi.

He turned back to Levainlain, waiting for him to introduce himself.

Levainlain was pleased when the demon accepted his offer, but was caught off guard by the informality displayed in the spontaneous embrace. The elves were typically serious creatures, especially in regards to him, being the sort of outsider he was, and they had never displayed physical affection or friendliness at all toward him. When the creature kissed him lightly, he blushed, covering his mouth with his fingers and sporting a look of utter surprise. He was accustomed from his few travels to adapting to the culture of those he met along the way; nonetheless, he thought it rare that this might be taken as a form of thanks and wondered if it meant something else to creatures not of the forest than it's very reserved appearance in elven culture.

The elf uncovered his mouth, forcing away the redness in his cheeks, but it returned ever more at the demon's suggestion to display to him his ...talents... that night. He straightened, lifting his head and turning to the healer as he spoke. "Worry not, Healer. The elves would indeed notice you on your typical walk were they patrolling these parts of the woodland, but these are my posts, and if we are of reasonable volume they will not hear us from theirs. My house is distanced from the city, in any case." He took the man's hand in a firm but gentle grip. Hand shaking, as the humans called it (though he could not quite figure why, seeing as the movement was not so characteristic of shaking in his eyes), was one of his favourites of their traditions, the contact seeming intimate to one of the elven race but formal to humanity. "Enchanted to make your acquaintance, Jeremi."

Then 'twas the demon's turn to introduce himself, and he did it quite gracefully, thought the elf thought that he could see traces of ulterior meaning in his actions. "And you as well, Lilu Naamah," he said with a bow in return. He wondered what Lilu meant by introducing himself with a circle, remembering back to when Lominvorn had done so on their first encounter. It must be a demon tradition, he reasoned, and decided to question the dark fox about it later. He looked betwixt Jeremi and Lilu, assuming that their expectant looks indicated their readiness to move onward.

"Well, then, on we go," the elf said with an incline of his head, turning and walking along the pathway through the clearing. He had taken only a few steps when he realised his mistake, stopping briskly and turning back. "Ah, where have my manners gone? Pardon me. I am called Levainlain." He then resumed his trekking as before and led them by way of circles to his home in a small clearing.

Lilu's eyes wandered around the scenery on their roundabout trek to Levainlain's house, surveying the show nature put on around them. The forest had seemingly returned to normal since their arrival, birds, butterflies, and other winged creatures flitting about the arboreal haven. The air carried melodies sang by warbling finches and sparrows, which were music to Lilu's slightly pointed ears. The sunlight came down through the branches of the canopy above them in constantly shifting spots, casting them in ever-changing areas of light and dark. The whole area seemed nice and peaceful, even the grass beneath the incubus's bare feet feeling softer and more lush.

"Levainlain, this part of the forest seems so much nicer. I assume this is the area you patrol? It's quite beautiful here, although not so much as certain other sights..." the incubus purred out to the elf.
"My offer from earlier is still--"
The incubus stopped mid sentence as they emerged from the treeline into the clearing, laying eyes on the single, enormous tree before them, and the house built into it. The boulders in the clearing were equally as gigantic, dwarfing the demon many times over. He looked to Levainlain before speaking, truly in awe of the area.
"This place is incredible... I didn't know trees could even grow that large. How long have you lived here?"
