The Forbidden Forest

A beautiful forest. Boreal of this region, and cherished by many ... especially her … for she had belonged to this forest … it was a wonderful place to be – the chorus of little birds in the colossal trees that tower all over the place, the rich light green that cover the trees and the vegetation everywhere – vines grow and drape over the many trees. It had rained a couple nights before – and now, the dewdrops that were left had made the meadow look and sparkle like a sea of emerald.

The giant, cool, and gentle zephyr blew the strands of red-brown hair out of her elf-like face, her pulled back hair in a single-tail braid moved gracefully from the breeze. She was standing on a stony cliff, and could see the remnants of the giant palace and castle far below and far before her. It used to be a civilization – these magnificent and brilliant dozens of acres of buildings homes, town squares, and markets, worked of decades and centuries of hard toil, just to keep up its own history of power. Now it is taken over by plants and animals – but it’s castles are still strong to live in.

She had come here, simply because she wanted to remind herself of how things came to this, how this kingdom and the other twelve kingdom’s demise had come to be, as well as to refresh her memory on how the boisterousness of the kingdoms today are oh so different from the past.

She turns around, and heads back into the other thick forestry of this place … this, ‘Eternal Forest’. She can tell that one of the Forest Gods is around, perhaps conversing with some of the critters, or heading to the rivers of the gigantic waterfalls for a drink. As she runs marathons through the forest like the swift supernatural demon that she is, there were giant wolves and big cats to avoid, a group of small floating fairies that were having their celebration in their own little, but widespread kingdom, and many ‘mythical creatures’ that she had to go around, or had to fight with. There were also many plants to avoid getting poisoned by as well as vines and places to avoid getting caught and stuck, and many fluffy and adorable creatures to watch out from stepping or harming them.

It took about two hours of running without stopping before she was finally able to arrive at the entrance of this great and vast forest. The huge trees grew in two rows, one row on each side of the great pathway that lead to more shrubs.

As she walks through the path, she transforms her demonic form into her human form – retracting her sharp ivory-white teeth and claws into normal human features, her pointy elf-like ears turned more human-like, her red-brown hair to brown, as well as her charming and red cat-like eyes into a calm and tranquil brown. All in all though, only her elf-like face remains the same.

Suddenly, something squeaked from behind her and jumped on her shoulder – it was a fox-squirrel (image: http://31.media.tumblr.com/076ab23b7e87 ... o1_500.gif ), Snow. It squeaked harshly in its animal language, “Leviath! You’re supposed to spend time with me ….”

Leviath replied, “I would love to, Snow. However, I have duties to do. There’re many things in this forest that you can entertain yourself with. I have to go now.”

Snow, the fox squirrel, jumps off of Leviath, and watches her leave. Snow then runs off, wondering where else that he should explore today. As for Leviath, she hurries out to visit the boisterous and great Kingdom Edalia once more.

A crystal clear lake sat quiet and undisturbed, guarded along its borders by the tall sturdy trunks of massive trees. The wind blew ever so gently through the leaves- it seemed to be whispering. Almost like a voice, whispering of the many secrets this forest withheld. There was not a soul around that would dare disturb these waters. But yet, one soul sat nearby, her hands cupped and dipping silently into the serene pool.

Small insects seemed to dance around her head, lighting up as did many of the small bugs in the more shaded parts of the forest. They illuminated her branch-woven crown and messy brown hair, which fell to her shoulders in tangled wavy strips. It caressed her face which was childlike and filled with a certain essence of youth. Unusual, to find one so young out here. She perched steadily on a boulder just beside the lake, gazing at it with calm but worried green eyes. Her eyes could have been mistaken easily for orbs of grass, for they quite literally resembled grass blades in color and inward texture. An intense and odd color for regular human eyes.

With her handful of water, the little girl released it over a creature which was right beside her. It was a small critter- but
unlike the many wondrous and strange inhabitants of this place, it was normal for its kind. The small brown hare jerked up from
what had appeared to be a rather peaceful nap. After it released a small squeal of protest- or was it of surprise?- the girl giggled
to herself and hoisted it up in her arms, running her hand over its ears gently.
"I'm sorry, dear Isabelle, I just couldn't help myself!"
She stood and held it close in her embrace, turning before gingerly hopping down from the stone. This lake was one of her
favorite locations to relax. But now it was time to leave, and make sure her friend got home as well.

This forest had always been home to her, and as such, she knew nearly every route to take to avoid different things. Somehow
she had survived despite the many dangers it presented to most. She knew a variety of plants and creatures, while also
yearning to investigate the regions she had never dared to venture. But that was an adventure she could wait for. For now,
simply being here was good enough. With the creatures as her friends and feeling the rays of the sun every morning, waking
to the sight of dawn while sitting on a cliff's edge or watching as water poured over the mighty slopes of a waterfall, she treasured this place like no other.
Even with its dangers, if one was careful, this forest was also full of beauty. Beauty was all she'd ever seen in it.

The young girl paused before a small hollow and set the hare down onto the ground, waving as it disappeared into the tunnel.
It was one of her many friends. Somehow, she'd always had a knack for befriending things. Certain spirits had always warned
her about some of the monsters that lurked in the shadows- she was careful to avoid those. Deep down she believed
there could be some good in everything, even these 'monsters' she may never meet. She continued on her way, skipping
and humming softly to the wind. What should she do now? Explore some old ruins? Check to see if anyone needed help?
Or perhaps some of her friends were free to play. The possibilities were endless! A wide, excited grin stretched over her face as she skipped off between
the trees in search of fun.

from the distance, some giggling echoed. as a hooded figured snaked his way up a tree, the blond male sharpened his blade watching all the animals. "heheh suuuch a beauuuuutiful day" he continues to watch a squirrel he smiled but then his smile grew as it was attacked by an adder, the snake squized and strangled the squirrel. the only responce from the guardian was "aww that was sooooo cuuute" he giggled once more as the snake harshly and with no time wasted swallowed the squirrel whole. it then returned to the hole it crawled from.

Scouting

‘More meadows to cover ….’ She sighs, ‘this is the never-ending forest’ after all.’

She was referring to the great plains of tall grass in front of her – rodents and insects still dash, flitter, and scamper about in this area. There’s a white and fading dirt path in this old field – she continues to run, jumping down a small cliff, and making great leaps on the giant stones of a great stream. Soon, there were less trees, and more open space. She could see the great traveler’s road, and follows it.

Eventually, she came upon the open entrance to Kingdom Edalia. The huge and heavily built iron gates were open, and knights stood at the sides of the entrance, keeping watch on any suspicion of any passersby that arrive. They stood still in their heavy armor, and made no movement. One can almost believe that they are statues made of metal. As the demon walks though the entrance with none stopping her, Leviath wonders if they have a sorcerer on the watch … they wouldn’t be wearing such a heavy apparel. There’s a chance that they’re simply watching from afar … but even if that’s the case, they’re not doing their duty effectively.

Humans, stray dogs and cats, children helping their family do work for business, markets – Leviath continues to move on, mindfully trying not to bump into too many in this crowded place. It was noisy too – everyone chatted about the little things in life, drama, calculations, concerns, and prices. She attempts to block out their trivial words. She continues to stroll around, seeing mask, food, drink, and herbal shops, most particularly eyeing the masks.

Finally arriving elsewhere more spacious, she no longer had to constantly think about or check her bag’s content in getting stolen in such a crowd. And now, Leviath’s clear mind and focus was supreme at this moment – she intended to make use of her concentration to gather as much information of the locations of this place so as to take note of what’s old and new in the ever-changing buildings of this place.

After a while of strolling, she finally sees the palace in the distance.

She remembers the first time on how she got in there, but had to escape immediately because a sorcerer was after Leviath after discovering traces of demon presence. Telling by the added enchanted protection crystals on the walls and gates surrounding the palace, more intellect will be needed in order to bust into this place.

… What’s this?

She felt something small, holding and tugging her hand. She turns to see a little adorable girl. Leviath wasn’t sure how to react … is this a sincere human, or another trick? The little girl looked scared, and was hugging a furry stuffed rabbit. It seemed a little dirtied.

“I can’t find Ma … will you help me?” The girl asked with pleading eyes.

‘Gah … I’m busy ….’

Leviath takes a deep breath. This is what you get when you decide to show yourself in daylight … humans just come up to you at the most unnecessary time. If only Leviath could sneak in the night whilst hide her presence just as well as the true demons – such was not her skill. She was more less on her demonic powers than the others in the forest.

Leviath replies, “What does she look like?”

Deep within the forests, Snow was playing in the small streams, splashing around and getting drenched. He quickly hops out, and shakes off the water. Suddenly, he heard a squirrel squeak in terror, the squeak of terror of which was quickly silenced, a hiss followed afterwards. Snow had his hairs up on his body, and quickly ran up a tree, getting away from the snake on the forest floors before it sees him. His little heart was beating speedily. He then lies on a branch, wondering how to get away from this danger without getting eaten.

the male tilted his head, as he walked over smiling. suddenly the tree reveals a giant smilie face leaning over him "heeellloooo there?" the tree then shot vines grabbing snow. "who. are. you." the male strolled over, his cute eyes lightly shinned in moonlight. "are you friend or foe..i got a stick" pokes snow softly in the stomach.

"Where should I go for that?" A small voice called from the bottom of the tree. Looming up above was a moderate sized branch, with the smallest of nests being constructed by her bird friend, Robin. He puffed his colored chest out and released a loud series of chirps, which somehow, the girl could somewhat comprehend.

As she had been strolling along in search of her friends, she'd noticed the fellow struggling to find materials for his new nest. His mate was out looking for food. Once he'd accepted her help, she was told to go find small twigs that were bendable- almost like small strips of vine. She wracked her brain for any memory of such things, then she remembered- high up in some of the trees, the little vines grew. They had to start somewhere, after all, before wrapping their way down. Her teeth almost glinted as she beamed brightly to her feathered friend, holding a hand up to signal that she'd heard, and was on her way now.

Quickly she turned and was off through the undergrowth, her feet tirelessly moving over the rough ground. Her feet had been conditioned not to care. Leaves were upturned, as well as small patches of dirt, staining her feet a dirty brown. But suddenly the air felt tense around her. The forest floor didn't feel too safe. Slightly panicked eyes glance around warily, before closing. In her mind's eye she pictured a simple bird- a blue bird, with fancy white plumage and feather crests. Then before she realized it was done, her body morphed into the creature, momentarily cloaked in a warm white light. The light soon disappeared and she flew off towards the cover of the treetops, keeping a keen eye out for the small vines she needed for Robin.

Her eye caught on a strange scene a little ways below her, and she quickly hid on a nearby branch, watching as a fox-squirrel was trapped by the vines of the tree. A stranger was approaching it. Inside, she knew this stranger was trouble. What was it going to do to the poor thing? Couldn't it see it was afraid?

Castian was laying in an open meadow, the sunlight reflecting off of his wings and creating patterns of light. The faerie had his eyes closed and a splash of glitter could be seen on his eyelids. He had his hands behind his head, one knee up; in other words he was completely relaxed. A faint breeze blew through the meadow causing Castian's already messy hair to look even messier and blowing faerie dust from the long grass. The silvery dust blew towards the thicker forest on the edge of the clearing, finding its way between the thick trucks and leaving a thin layer across most surfaces.

Trouble? Maybe – A Waste of Time

Someone that looks like me … braided hair and brown eyes … there’s many people like that. Hmmm … no, that’s not her … nope, wrong person … ‘scuse me. Don’t let go of my hand, nor of your little friend’s. Leviath attempts to make her way through the bundles of people in crowd. While going through the dozens of people, Leviath felt the girl releasing her hand. The demon quickly looked around herself, until she caught the sight of the same mask shop, with the little girl standing behind the business table. She was leaning over it, looking out at something. As Leviath goes over to the girl, she hears someone’s footsteps coming to the stand. The person was a woman – deductively reasoning, most likely her mother. As they reunited, they were glad and cheery – Leviath was about to leave, until she saw someone taking a mask without the mother and daughter noticing.

She looks around, and then goes over to bend over to pick up a very thin and broken-in-half wooden scrap board from the ground. She simply sneaks up behind the human, and then arches her human hand like she would when swiping at a rabbit – she quickly brings it painfully down on the man’s right shoulder. As he jumps and, in a split second, let’s go of the mask out of surprise, he turns around to see what beast has touched him. Already though, the demon had stood and bent low, and had swiftly taken the mask whilst placing the board in the man’s hands. The demon in disguise ‘slithers’ gracefully back into the crowd. Leviath goes ‘round the many humans and back to the mask shop to return it. By then, the mother was telling the girl something, the girl hands the mother the dirtied rabbit. The woman then goes back into the shop. The girl started lifting the many messily stacked masks on the table, looking underneath the many of them and seemingly a bit upset. Was she looking for a scattering evil roach to smash? With a deft movement, something was placed on the table. The girl sees it, and was pleased. She looks at the person in front of her, but sees only the ever-moving and noisy crowd.

It was getting extremely late … what will Leviath do now? She had underestimated her human abilities. As a human, she can only run so much before her body is filled with the pain of sores from her tiring muscles. ‘Sorry Snow, but it will take a while before I come back.’ The demon thinks to herself – at the very least, a horse is what I’m going to need in the morning. And then head to the towns – at least to Falloch, Crimora, and Foreston. One by one until I get back.

It has been a while that Leviath had to turn human, and had to look around for things to her use. She goes around the Kingdom once more, reminding herself as she bought, that as a human, she’s to eat things cooked, and not raw. She soon heads to the inn to rest.

“Squeak ….” Snow sighed in relief as he lied on the branch. Suddenly, vines moved suspiciously above and towards Snow. “Squeak? Squeak! Squeaaaak!” He was grabbed by the rope-like plants, and held in the air. A stick was poking him in the stomach. The blonde male had spoken, and Snow replied. “Squeak! Squeak! Squeeeaaak! Squeak squeak squeak squeak! Squeeeaaaak!” Friend I say! I am friend! Frieeeeend! Leviath! Save meeee! … No, I can’t be like this …. Snow becomes quiet. Maybe if he reacted less, then this blonde young male would lose interest in him. The fox-squirrel becomes as quiet as a leaf being blown in the wind.

Oh wait, the bird? Um, yes. She's with me ... right? "Squeak squeak squeak squeak? Squeak ... squeak?"

Confused as to what exactly she was witnessing, at first, she didn't respond when the strange blonde creature
spoke to her. The situation seemed to be a rather unusual one. She had never encountered something like him before. But then she
felt light fear coursing through her mini veins and she huffed aloud, eager to get away. However, she couldn't just leave the poor fox-squirrel on his own. Oh, what to do! Praying for the best, she looked to the fox-squirrel when it squeaked and chirped a response to the question she seemed to be able to understand.
"Yes, I am a friend, little one."

Suddenly the blonde creature that had been talking didn't seem so stable. His voice shifted, startling her greatly. What was that, just
now? That wasn't normal, she could assure herself of that. And why did he seem so... different? One thing was for certain, she couldn't stick around for too long.
This was more than she wanted to handle. Gracefully handling her bird wings, she glided to the fox-squirrel's
side and hoped the blonde man wouldn't make a scene. Her beak snipped at the vines quickly, trying to free the fox-squirrel from the binding. The small bits would also help with
the nest she was supposed to be helping to build for Robin. Inwardly her mind was racing.
As soon as the fox-squirrel was safe, she would take to the sky and head straight back to Robin- no exceptions. She had to reach somewhere secure.
Otherwise she may panic and be unable to return to her normal form.

A cloud moved across the sun, blocking the warm rays momentarily but it was long enough to cause Castian to open one golden eye and glare accusingly at the fluffy cloud. Propping himself up onto one elbows, the faerie cast his gaze around the meadow, rubbing his eyes with the back of one hand.

How long was I out for? He thought. It had been nearly dawn when he had laid down to rest for a moment. He had spent the night with a group of faeries as they raced one another through the forest other little games. Castian stood, fluttering his wings behind him, feeling a cramp in one of them where he had leaned on it.

Castian soon found himself walking silently around the old trees, one hand running along the bark. It was later then he normally would have slept but it didn't matter, he had no where to go today. As he wandered, Castian could hear the familiar sounds of trees creaking, animals making chirps and chatter, and his own soft tread on the forest floor. The leaves over head made a thick canopy that cast the lower levels into shadows. The faeries had nothing wrong with this, as long as they could feel the sun on their wings from time to time they rarely complained.

He finally found a tall tree with a crook in one of the branches, perfect for balancing on and watching the creatures (and sometimes a wayward human) below. Castian used his wings to lift himself to the branch before settling down with his legs dangling over the edge; sunlight peeked through above him warming his back and allowing his wings to lazily wave behind him.

As he sat, he thought about going along the long path that would take him to Edalia. The people there were always an interesting bunch. Closing his eyes for a moment, Castian let his mind wander.

((OOC: Sorry for taking forever to post. I'll try to post more early. Feel free to add conflict into the RP.))

Restless

In Leviath’s room, she rests comfortably on the wooden chair and lays her head down on the large wooden table in front of her, eyes closed. Already having the door locked, she gets up, takes her bag, and splays its items out on the table. ‘So, this is what they had before … and to avoid that here, I’m going to need these things ….’

~*~*~*~

Snow wanted to thank the bird, but he knows that he ought to not make the kind bird’s actions all for nothing. In a hurry, he takes this opportunity in order to jump down onto the tree’s length of bark. He ran into the cattails that lined along the stream upward, hoping to get away from the creature. Leaping out of the long grass, he runs across the stream in front of him, and runs straight into more trees. Arriving upon at an untouched clover field, he sighs in relief and assumes that he’s gotten away just fine. Trotting around in the luscious clover field, it was like grass snow – Snow paws over the field, its clovers were tall, right up to his neck. If any giant hawk was watching, they’d see a fuzzy head moving across a clover field.

He hops and jumps across the field – leaving flattened grass and weeds as his tiny weight compresses them, making oval shapes across the field. Smiling happily, he suddenly ducks, leaving only his tall and brown pointy ears showing above the tall grass. After burying and nuzzling his head in the soft grass, he rolls over, and stretches his legs. Relaxed, he looks up at the late sky – most truly, he believes that he should really be making something better out of his time; Helping, doing something for Leviath, explore more in the forest so that he tell stories to her. Become stronger … but what can a small fox-squirrel do? He’s close to the bottom of the food chain. What can some critter like him do in repayment of Leviath’s care for him?

‘Grow up, and become a strong fox-squirrel in mind and soul so that you can protect yourself, and others who’ve been in your place,’ that was what she had told him.

Snow hops to his side, jumping back up on his feet. He runs around in circles, stomping over a patch of clover, almost ripping it out of the dirt. He goes off to munch on some red and white clover flowers, sweet and fresh. I can help out, and it’s not a bad thing to laze around once in a while - but I should really get going.

Snow chomps down a couple more sweet clovers. He decides to go to the peaceful lake. For some reason, just coming to this place calms him like no other, for the never-ending glittering on the lake was just simply breath-taking. Following the waters of the lake, he finds another route of stream. He was searching for perch or minnows as he came upon the area of the forest that’s filled with bird nests. He saw a robin in a tree, trying to build his nest. Snow made sure to move away and keep a distance – it’ll be awful if his food was stolen.

He goes to stand on a flat stone in the middle of the stream, and constantly lightly dips his paw in and out of the water, imitating the movement of an insect. He soon fools a perch, and jumps after it and viciously pierces the fish's head with a strong bite to force it to still. He brings it to forest ground, and nibbles quickly to finish it before an animal takes it away from him.

A sigh of relief sounded out the bird's beak as the fox-squirrel bounded away, free and unharmed. Had she still had her lips, she would be smiling, or perhaps skipping after it as she wound the times she made new friends. But now wasn't the time- she still felt wary of the other stranger. In her beak she gathered the small bits of vine before turning and gazing towards the sky, remembering which way the wind blew. Typically, small things like that gave her a sense of direction. As other animals, usually scent would guide her, but as a bird, it was the wind and the signs in the sky that told her where to go. Her feet flipped her stance in a perky fashion as she finally figured out which way to go, spreading her blue wings wide to catch an updraft. Naturally, she didn't need the updraft, but it was fun to be carried away by the forces of nature. The same way it felt floating down a river.

Before she takes to the air, she casts one last glance over her feathery shoulder towards where the strange blonde had gone and then where a new tree had appeared. Who was this man-like creature? And what was his purpose? Something was different about him. Dangerous, yes, but at the same time, almost intriguing. She wished she knew. Common sense told her not to let foolish curiosity draw her close. It would be suicidal. Especially since she was just a little girl, whose only skill would be running away should danger catch her off guard. The uplift came and she dropped carefree into its embrace, the air flowing through her feathers and drawing her upwards back into the sky. In a heartbeat she knew what to do- it was in her nature. Well, a bird's nature. But hers nonetheless.

Her wings beat gracefully all the way back to Robin's makeshift home and allowed herself to glide to a halt on a nearby branch. Her long clawed toes gripped the bark easily and she perched, carefully sidestepping to the nest and placing the vines within. Weaving with her beak was not her expertise, so she would let Robin do it when he returned, wherever he had flown off to now. Then she glided swiftly to the forest floor and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to focus on her normal form. Thankfully her heart rate had calmed and she was able to concentrate. Her body enveloped in the familiar white light, her wings transformed back to arms and her scaled feet back to normal human legs. After steadying herself, she glanced towards the sky in wonder. Where was that fox-squirrel now? She had never seen very many of his kind. She wanted to see him again.

Nearby, she hears the faint bubbling of a stream- probably the one that she often followed back here to Robin's nest. She places the idea of spotting the fox-squirrel again in the back of her mind and makes her way quietly through the bushes to not disturb any creatures that might be enjoying the stream. Then she spots it- a calm flowing body of water, pure and undisturbed with small fish and a few tadpoles dancing around its edges. She skips over and kneels down, giggling at the small wriggling figures as she dips a finger into the water.

Isabelle looks at the entrance in front of her. Trees grew in two rows on both sides of the dirt path in front of her. This should be where the Eternal Forest would be at – the sorcerer had told me so. She was a bit scared, who knows what creature will want to eat her, but forces herself to stay in one piece or else her nerves will make her pay for her mistakes if she slips up ‘that word’. Entering the forest, she was soon greeted with a loud, strong, deep and low growl. Her heart was beating miles a minute no matter how much she told it to still. She walked slower, trying to identify the great shadow looming not so far in the forest. She could see two red dots in the distance. Freaking out, she slowly walked to the side, but then the great beast ran after her with a snarl.

It couldn’t be helped. She pulls out the great sword from its sheath, and goes into defense position, holding the sword low in front of her with both hands grasping it tightly.

As Snow finished up, he noticed someone nearby. He turns to see a girl - human-looking, but she had pointy ears. He continues to stare at her, wondering what kind of creature she is. He cleans himself by licking his paws, then using them to rub his ears, and then rubs his face. He moves closer and sits down next to her. He too was looking at the water with the many fish swimming about, wondering what's so fascinating about the fish. He then sniffs around, trying to get info. Even though she might not understand him, he cocks his head to the side and squeaks, 'Who are you?'

Castian was slowly following a winding path through the forest. The trees had started to thin out, being replaced with small shrubs, and long grasses. The path was more of a beaten trail made by the paws of animals running along it for many years. As the faerie passed, a rabbit darted from the grass and shot across the path, stopping once to stand on its hind legs and look around; Castian laughed softly to himself at the small creature. When he walked by his wings shed a small amount of sparkling dust, it settled around the rabbit causing it to sneeze and hop back into the grass. "Silly creatures." Castian smiled and shook his head slightly.

He had a long way to go before he reached Edalia but he had the time.

Still grinning as the tadpoles seemed to dance around her finger, in the corner of her eye she spotted another small critter approach. Her gaze turned to find a fox-squirrel, looking curious about her as he squeaks a question. And it wasn't just any fox-squirrel. It was the one she'd seen earlier, freed from the vines. Somewhere inside she was jumping for joy. The girl knew that being so enthusiastic on the outside was enough to startle some of the smaller forest creatures, so she did her best to stay calm in moments she wanted to leap about like the child she was. With a gentle smile, her eyes closed in glee and she spoke calmly to it, hoping she had understood the question correctly.
"My name is Leanne, little fella."

Carefully she reached a hand out to pet his back or stroke his ears, similarly to how she handled Isabelle- her rabbit friend. Her head tilted as she returned his question.
"What's your name?"

The big beast darts throughout in the shadows of the forest after her - but why? Isabelle thinks to herself, What does this creature want?

The beast thinks to itself as it charges, Another human … but something doesn’t feel right about her. I sense … something strange. It chases her straight on, and soon reveals itself to be a giant gray wolf. Isabelle thinks to herself, ’But … to kill it, I, I don’t want to! Her facial expression then turns serious, with the touch of sorrow. ’But it’s only fair that if such a beast strikes, that I am to strike back. Bring it.’ She turns the handle of the sword in her hand, making its blade’s sharp edges placed vertically.

The intelligent wolf opens its maw wide and growls, and feints a leap at the precise moment, making Isabelle lift the sword and charge towards the wolf to make a piercing strike, only to miss as the giant gray wolf simply dodges to the left, and goes after Isabelle’s side. Isabelle was unable to block, and so, the wolf pushed her down, knocking away the mighty sword by doing so.

It became surprised as it saw such a sword with its strange writings. He was certain that he felt a strange dark power emanating from it. The giant wolf growls in its language, unknown to Isabelle, but clearly a growl of warning:
’LEAVE, HUMAN! YOU’RE PRESENCE WILL ONLY BRING DISCORD! GRRR ….’

The heavy wolf easily kept her down by pressing one giant forepaw on her chest. Isabelle was having a slight problem breathing from the weight pressed down on her lungs.

“Get … off me! Heavy beast!” She tries to kick and scratch, but the wolf remains stern, stiff, unmoving, and strong in its position. She can feel her blood pulsing from fear. She clenches her teeth to not say ‘the word’.

The wolf continues to grow loudly. It was baring its large teeth.

‘No … I don’t want to get eaten ….’ Thought Isabelle. But it was strange … why isn’t the wolf dealing the death blow?

“Help!” She softly spoke, she’d yell, but the wolf’s compression on her chest made it hard to breathe.

~*~*~*~

He cutely squeaks, “Squeak!” Hey! Don’t ignore me ….’ He goes to bite and lightly tugs the shape-shifter’s shirt. As the shape-shifter pets Snow and replies, he let’s go. He wags his furry tail. He reminds himself of the name, ‘Leanne.’ Then, when she asked for his name, he knew that it was hopeless to reply, but does so anyways. “Squeak!” Snow. Will he have to show her somehow just so he can get his message across? But it most certainly isn’t winter right now, perhaps by another method if she gets his name wrong. But perhaps he can have Leviath tell Leanne once she returns.

~*~*~*~

A tired human was lying her head down, sleeping on top of a map. Other materials of small weaponry, tools, and bags of magic powder lay about. Suddenly, dozens of footsteps sounded outside of the once silent hallway, making Leviath jolt up from her seat. "Ah ...." I fell asleep .... She shivers. What a strange dream! She looks at her items, then an idea had struck her. She packs them up, then goes to her bed and back to sleep. A bit more rest shouldn't hurt.

Leanne giggles cheerfully as the fox-squirrel tugs at her dress. What a cute little thing! It made her want to scoop it up into her arms, like she did many of her smaller friends. But of course she would restrain herself for now. Sometimes her new friends didn't like being picked up- she'd learned that the hard way with Keeneye, the red fox kit. A small nip of the finger was all it took. She didn't want to startle anything again, by doing that. Intense focus strained her ears in order to try and hear its voice. And to be honest, she wasn't sure she understood. Even though she had been raised by the forest creatures, each species had its own complex language, some of which she had learned- others she had not, or her mind wasn't capable of understanding it completely. It was sometimes a game of guess.

"Hn, I'm sorry fella, I'm not sure I can understand..." Leanne murmured, almost sounding depressed. Fortune hadn't allowed her to see many of his kind in the past, after all, so she hadn't the time to learn their language as well. "But perhaps you and I could stick together, just for a little while?" She asked with a sweet smile. Remembering how he'd gotten tangled earlier, Leanne wished to ensure he got through the rest of the day out of harm's way. Strange things were always happening in this forest. What else could happen today?
