In this world, furries have become a reality after some freak accident, creating an actual humanoid animal. Instead of people just dressing up as them, they had become the real deal. But now that they exist and do things human can do, if not more, humans have become jealous and have segregated themselves from the humanoid animals. Separate bathrooms, water fountains, schools, you name it. The only place that is not segregated is the colleges and work place. So furries still have to deal with the hate everywhere they go.

Aja sighed as she walked to class, her books held tightly to her chest wrapped around her arms. She had her earbuds in her ears, blocking out the cruel words that humans would spit out to her. She ignored the glares and dirty looks that they would give her too. She ignored it all, she had too. These days, furries were seen as odd and hated everywhere they went. Aja was a short lynx with long blonde hair, big blue eyes and a very good personality. That however was always kept quiet, as she fears for her life on a daily basis from the humans who don't agree with the anthro's living among them. She was walking across the quad when a human she passed had stepped on her tail, making her both trip, fall on her face and give a soft hiss in pain. She held herself on the ground on her hands and knees. She looked behind her at the humans who spit in her general direction, she stood up, gathered her books and started to walk away. Aja tried her hardest to hold the tears in her eyes back from facing even more public humiliation.

Joshua was sitting at one of the tables around campus, his head laying on the cool table top as his white fur cought the sun, he was panting in the heat of the late summer warmth. He was looking around the campus as he waited for his next class to start. Though as he sat there, he noticed a Lynx walk across the campus, a few humans hurling insults at her. A boy about his own age then stepped on her tail, him and his friends laughing at her. This made him growl, the large white wolf then stood up and walked towards him.

As Josh made his way towards the boy and his friend, the one who stepped on the Lynxs tail turned towards him. "Hey, what do yo-" the man was cut short as Josh punched him. He was sent to the ground rather easily, he then softly kicked him. "That's what's it like to have your tail stepped on. Anyone else?" He growled, his fangs showing.

Aja had only taken a few steps forward whens he saw a white wolf storm passed her and directly to the humans that had bullied her. She stopped and turned, taking out her earbuds from her ears and watched the scene before her unfold. The human was on the ground in an instant and then kicked by the wolf. The human's friends gathered their injured friend from the ground and ran off, but not before spitting in the direction of the lynx. "Don't think this is over, girlie." One of the humans threatened to the girl before turning and running off.

Aja blinked softly as the humans ran away, it was incredible that this wolf stood up for her. Whenever she was being bullied, nobody stood up for her due to the furries being afraid of the consequences. She took a few steps forward and tapped the large wolf on his shoulder. She hugged her books to her chest a bit tighter as she spoke. Her blue eyes looked up at him but then they fell to her feet.
"T...thank you. You didn't have to do that. It usually happens all the time. I just ignore it." She reached behind her and rubbed her small tail that the human had tugged. It was a bit soar, but it would be better in a few minutes. "I'm Aja, what's your name?" She asked, once again looking up at the wolf that had helped her.

Josh watched as the group picked up the guy and walked off, he gave a soft growl when they threaten the woman who they were mocking a moment ago. He then noticed the girl walk up to him, she thanked and said he didn't need to do it. Though he just shook his head, sighing softly. "No no, the world is full of jerks like that. Though we shouldn't take just because they are human, we need to stand up for our selves.." he said, then nodded softly. "I'm Josh, nice to meet you Aja." He said, his yellow eyes slowly looking up and down her.

Aja smiled softly as he insisted to not be sorry for helping. She looked at the ground, blush coming across her face as he looked her over. He had a point that they needed to stand up for themselves, but she couldn't. She was just too shy and quiet to do so. She had only wished that she could be as strong as the other furries in the university who stood up for themselves, but she was afraid that if she did, she would get beat up. Humans are aware that beating a woman is illegal, but when it comes to furry women, they don't care and neither do the police.

Aja looked up at Josh and smiled, but it faded when she saw all of the looks they were being given. Her smile disappeared as she looked back to her feet and the ground. "Well, uh... I have to get to class. Maybe I'll see you around?" She wrote her number on a scarp piece of paper, tore it off and handed it to him. She would give him a soft wave before walking off into a nearby building to go to class. She sat in the back corner as usual to avoid nasty stares from the humans.

Josh took the piece of paper and nodded, then waved back as she did so to him. He watched her walk off for a little bit before he turned around and went towards the other end of campus. Where the trades and such where held, though many of the humans didn't want to work with him, which made some of the tasks a bit more difficult, but the teacher would at least call this out and force someone to work with him. So at least the teacher didn't hate him and his kind.

Once Josh got to the class, he went to his locker and pulled out his jump suit, zipping it up and heading into the shop. Walking down to the old Camaro at the end, starting his work, not paying attention to the stares that he got from those who didn't like him, or who he has already punched.
