Detaching from his hyperspace ring, Alastor Kaine guided his black and red Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor into the atmosphere of Coruscant. It wasn't the first time he'd been to the planet-wide metropolis, but he never liked being there. It was too expansive for him to really like being there. He preferred is homeworld of Corellia or Tatooine. Much more open for him as he'd been quite nomadic since he witnessed the blockade of Naboo 10 years ago.

He heard his astromech droid, R2-Z0, named Zeke, let out a series of beeps and twills. He nodded, letting the droid take control as he prepped himself for his meeting with Naboo's representative. His lightsaber, built after finding a jedi holocron detailing how to make one, was clipped to his belt as he adjusted his training armor's fit with the cloak over it. He lived pragmatically, going for practicality over flashiness when it came to his clothing.

"Got it, rendezvous at point 09 gamma." He said as he popped the canopy of his fighter and jumped out of it, free falling to a landing platform far below as Zeke hard-overed in a roll, "Catch you later, Zeke."

He landed with a shoulder roll, barely feeling the pain from landing due to him cushioning the impact with the force. Looking around as he started walking, his senses expanded outward. He was monitoring his surroundings, looking for possible threats. Something he taught himself to do as a means of force training. He'd gotten pretty good at it.

'Really can't wait to see Padmé again,' He thought, ducking into a public transport headed to the senate building, 'Haven't seen her since Anakin and I destroyed that droid command ship 10 years ago over Naboo, I hope she's okay.'

He made sure his lightsaber was concealed as he felt a ripple in the force, letting him know another force user was on the transport with him.

"This is unacceptable!" the woman shouted to an unreceptive council. Several contained, judicious looks were cast upon the Jedi Sentinel and her outburst.

"He's at a very critical point in his training! His understandings of balance could be swayed into... vigilantism! He has the potential to be a powerful sentinel and I can't afford to let his progress be-"

"Is this a shared value?" Master Eeth Koth quickly interjected from his place about the circle. The Jedi opened and closed her mouth several times as she tried to form words. Eeth Koth stood from his place with no urgency. His voice was calm but reprimanding as he scrutinized the Jedi before him with a cold glare "Your personal investment is notable and the progress your padawan has made is quite exceptional, but your attachment is... troubling. We understand your concerns but I forsee... corruption if your apprentice continues on this path. This is no longer in your hands, Iyo"

Yoda slowly shook his head as he looked between the two "Caution, we must have. Consume him, a great darkness may. A simple trial, this is." he said with a nonchalant manner. Iyo's face held a mixture of conflicted emotions and her hands were held stock still at her sides. Plo Koon placed his hand on his chin as he watched the situation unfold.

"This may prove to be a trying task, but for whom is the more important question," Plo Koon spoke with no ferocity or edge. To the contrary, his words were almost introspective; as if he were thinking aloud, but Iyo knew what the council was thinking. She took a deep breath and calmed her mind.

"I'm guessing I don't really have a choice here," she remarked with a sour resigned tone. "Fine" she sighed "He'll be at the senate building shortly"
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Mecohn shuffled into the transport, his head buzzing with his master's words and the concern he could see in her through the holocom. He'd never been to the senate building or much of anywhere save for the temple and a few trips into the lower levels with his master. He stood stark straight and held onto the railing of the maglev transport. He was wedged between two rather large Ithorians on either side, chattering about something. As the two became more excited, Mecohn began to regret his position choice. One of the two kept reaching past him to whack the other as they laughed about something. The position on of the creature's mouths flecked spit onto the fur of his cheek. That was the final straw. There wasn't much space to move but he quickly spotted a small open area near a human a bit taller than himself. With a quick pardon, he squirmed out of his space and slipped into the spot, only after nearly bulldozing through a group of Ugnaught scholars.

He met their displeased grunts with a rushed apology before smiling awkwardly toward the man in front of him, shuffling to the side and taking the unoccupied space next to him "I-is it always packed like this?" he wasn't really one for needless chatter, but he was nervous and something about this guy was familiar enough.

He was ready to use a jedi mind trick on the two Ithorians to get them to shut up when what he recognized as a jedi padawan bulled his way next to him. He was shorter than him but not by much. He was also a race he wasn't familiar with. He looked like a bipedal cat with human-like traits. This would be interesting test of his communication skills.

"Wouldn't know, I am hardly ever on Coruscant very long." He said, his mouth twitching in a frown, "Chances are very much likely they are. I however would like the ride better if those two Ithorians would shut up."

His comlink beeped as he got a encrypted message from someone as the transport arrived at the Senate Building. Checking it as he got off, he inwardly smiled as he recognized the wording of the text. She'd be on her way home to Naboo with two Jedi escorts. She wanted him to accompany her as a third. He would be happy to oblige her as long as she wanted him to.

Mecohn bit his lower lip and adjusted his expression to mirror the man's own as he looked back at the pair of Ithorians who seemed to be having the time of their lives. Something about the coldness coming from this man was almost as intense as the warm breath that had been in his face moments before. He shifted a bit uncomfortably in his new clothes. The outfit had been a gift and though jedi were supposed to be an austere lot with no worries about their appearance, he adored the clothing. The dark brown pants and complementary cherry brown boots and gloves contrasted well with the white belt and pale yellow shirt. The look was as tailored as could be to match the white and deep cream colored fur of his face and the auburn of his hair. The clothing must've just been stiff, it needed to be worn in was all.

Against his better judgement, he opened his mouth to speak to the man once more but saw he was busy reading and so went back to looking around the transport at all the people. Apparently, one of the Ithorians had said something the other wasn't too keen on and the pair had become very quiet.

"The force works in mysterious ways," he joked under his breath as the maglev began to slow to a stop.

The fuzzy intercom buzzed to life with an animated female voice Galactic City Stop: Senate district the doors of the transport slid open as the intercom sputtered out and people began to pour outward.

"oh- uh-um, 'senate district' this is my stop...," his voice shook as he addressed no one in particular. He gave an awkward half glance at the man next to him, before slipping through the crowd once more.

"Hello, I'm- no... Senator, miss- uh Padme.... ma'am? no-...hmm" he debated with himself nervously under his breath as to how to properly greet a Senator as he walked. Usually, his master did the introducing and all he had to focus on was the work. Being alone again, it still wasn't any easier.

"Senator Amidala, I can't tell you how good it is to see you again." He spoke, placing a hand on the jedi padawan's shoulder as the senator in question smiled at seeing him while approaching them, "Pardon this one, seems he wasn't quite gotten his feet on the ground when it comes to diplomatic relations."

"Ali, Its been too long," Padmé Amidala said, curtsying to him before embracing him in a warm hug, "I trust you have been keeping yourself well?"

"Of course, Senator, I would be remiss not to." He replied, returning the hug with enthusiasm before releasing her, "I trust you have been well yourself?"

Padmé backed away from her dear friend as she turned to the young Jedi next to him. She knew the Jedi counsel had authorized two Jedi knights to escort her to her homeworld of Naboo after the attempt on her life. This must have been one of them. She curtsied to the Jedi as well, bowing her head in respect. She hoped he was ready for protecting and escorting a diplomat.

"Hello, may I ask how you are and your name, Master Jedi?" Padmé asked, rising to look at the young Jedi with an encouraging smile.

He'd flubbed just as he'd rehearsed, opting for a "Senator um, pleased to introduce eh- me..." he was still beating himself up about it, but the woman didn't seem too bothered by it. In fact, she was quite nice about it. Almost patronizingly nice. His hair stood on end as a firm hand landed on his shoulder. It was the man from before, except he'd managed to say something smug instead of harsh this time around. Mecohn slowly relaxed as the two spoke. The casual but respectful tone the two set was different but not unwelcome. He smiled and scratched his cheek as he watched the two hug.

His heart pounded in his chest as the Senator turned her focus to him and addressed him as 'Master Jedi'. All the tension that had melted away tightened right back into place. He bowed stiffly before standing at attention and relaying his mission objective "Padawan Ma-... Mecohn Mi'iko under Master Iyo Teleesi, here and ready to defend with my life, ma'am," he looked between the two as they gazed at him with amusement. He relaxed a bit and meekly added "I-I'm fine,". He most certainly wasn't; he was expecting his Master to have been accompanying them, but he saw her nowhere... and this other man. Was he the other Jedi to be accompanying them? He didn't seem like he was of the order and he'd never heard of this man 'Ali' before now. Was this allowed? He wanted to ask, but he couldn't seem to find the right words.

"Master Iyo contacted me, I assumed she would be here," he didn't know why he said it but he did anyway. He felt wrong about this situation, like something bad was going to happen.

"Alastor?" Someone said, getting his attention, "Man, this is a surprise to see you here."

"Anakin Skywalker, looking good for someone who spent ten years training as a Jedi." He replied, playfully punching the younger man's arm, "Still think I won that N-1 starfighter race we had out of the command ship when we were younger."

Anakin, smiling as he returned the punch, talked to Padmé for a few minutes. He turned to the padawan as his two best friends reconnected. Studying him with a thoughtful look, he looked pretty young. Maybe a bit to young for an escort mission. He shrugged as he crossed his arms.

"Name's Alastor Kaine, force-sensitive person that became a nomad after the Blockade on Naboo ten years," He said with a sigh, shaking his head at how animated Anakin was talking to Padmé, "Born on Corellia to two force-sensitive diplomats that never trained to use their gift. Started teaching myself using holocrons I found in my travels. How about you?"

Mecohn looked between the two as they conversed. They looked so comfortable around each other that it was almost infectious. The boy registered Alastor's words and his guard had slightly lowered now that the focus seemed to shift once more. He shrugged as he thought over this information. So he isn't a Jedi, but he has a history with these two he thought to himself as he fidgeted with a claw through the poly-fiber cloth of his glove I can see how that would be useful, but still....

"Nothing out of the ordinary, slavery kid that got a lucky break," he said quietly "Master Iyo found us- me on Hutta when I was little and I've been at the temple ever since," he smiled for a moment before running a gloved hand through his hair "Lucky. Me,"

Something was seriously beginning to bother him. It wasn't this situation anymore, but something else. It just felt like something was off. His head throbbed with a dull ache. He looked at Alastor to check if there was any indication that the man felt something too. If he did, he concealed it well. "Do you know when this meeting starts? I'd like to make sure we get this done without complication." it sounded a bit like he wanted this to be over, which wasn't untrue, but more importantly, having a goal to focus on would aid him in clearing his mind.

The sound of a lightsaber activating followed by a blaster rifle bolt being deflected into the ground constituted Alastor's answer as Padmé recoiled from the sudden appearance of a red lightsaber blade arcing mere centimeters from her face. She found herself shielded by Anakin as Alastor became a blur blocking and deflecting blaster bolts. For someone who was self-taught, he possessed amazing skill as more attackers swarmed the group. Almost no bolts were let through him as Anakin ignited his own lightsaber. Stunned, she watched as some attackers were suddenly jerking and spasming due to Alastor using Force Lightning on them.

"Anakin, get her out of here!" He shouted, batting a bolt from one attacker into another right before twisting to Force Push three attacker that had tried to flank the padawan into the wall of the senate building, "We got this, go!!"

"Ali, Be careful!!" Padmé cried as Anakin dragged her away, blocking blaster bolts as he went.

'You know me, Ami, always do,' He thought, spinning his red lightsaber with a tight flourish as he recognized the emblem of the Velvet Fang gang on the attacker's shoulder armor plate, 'Time for the Reaper..... To start the reaping!!!'

He tore into the remaining attackers, leaving one to be questioned later.

Everything happened so quickly, there wasn't time for Mecohn to register anything, but that wasn't very important. He had an objective now; ensure the senator's safety. The group descended from the high arched rafters and some had crashed through the large windows up above. There were six on either side of them and another two charged toward him with vibroblades. Mecohn's face had become blank. The two struck out at him in unison, hoping to overwhelm with a united downward slash. Mecohn blocked the twin assault, the blades of his saber illuminated his intense glare as he looked at the two hunters attempting to strong arm him. He spun his body to the right side, forcing their momentum to their left as his blades made a swirling arc. A hard kick to the stomach of one doubled them over as the other recovered from their stumbling.

Three more had bolstered the assailants ranks and had begun their vibroblade assault. He should've been afraid. A coordinated strike from different sides. Mecohn slid on his knees, bent backward underneath the swipes from his sides and force pushed the blade out of his front asssailant's hands; causing it to tumble dangerously in the air as he slid underneath his attacker. He rose with a twist and caught the blade in mid-tumble using the blades momentum to slash through the bewildered assassin. It was the first time he'd ever meant to kill someone. The other two were unphased and continued their assault.

Mecohn's movements were fast and harsher than he intended them to be. The pair of assailants couldn't manage to stay upright when defending against his strikes. He didn't want to, but his body was on autopilot and as the pair both lost their defensive stance, Mecohn spun and sent a horizontal slash through the pair. One of the two looked at him with wide-eyes as the life drained from their body.

"Makali?" the word gurgled from their mouth before they tumbled to the ground. Mecohn's blood ran cold and he took in a panicked shallow breath. The world around him blurred. The feeling of wind from a force push at his side made him turn. Nothing registered anymore, the sounds around him had died into distant noise.

"Focus" a voice rung through his mind with a calm but commanding tone "You are here now. Focus". His breathing leveled out and when he came to reality, all of the hunters had been dispatched save one who sat on the floor hands cuffed behind him. Mecohn glared at the prisoner, his teeth bared in a flurry of emotions that mostly culminated in rage. He looked away and up at Alastor, his face taking a more concerned expression.

"I didn't sense anyone fleeing the area, but it's possible. We should make sure Amidala is okay, right?"

"If I know Jedi Skywalker, She's more than alright," Alastor said, deactivating his lightsaber as he force grabbed a sniper from a vehicle nearby and yanked him to the surviving member of the attacking group, "My more pressing concern is what why a group of exiled Mandalorians with ties to a group I'm familiar with just tried to kill a Senator right in front of me and two Jedi."

He crouched in front of the two Mandalorians, grinning darkly as he saw how they watched his lightsaber. His grin disappeared as he sat, his lightsaber on the ground in front of him as he studied them. They cowered slightly as he looked over his shoulder at the padawan. He could tell they wouldn't do anything. They were afraid of what he'd do.

"Alright, We got some of the assailants, what do we do with them, Mister Jedi?" He asked curiously , eyebrow raised slightly as he watched the prisoners out of the corner od his eye.

Mecohn avoided eye contact with the criminals and with Alastor as he tossed the vibroblade to the side and stowed away his lightsaber.

"We do our civic duty and place these two into the hands of the Coruscant Security Force for questioning. What else would we do?" he coolly relayed his response as if he were remembering the answer from a textbook. The two assassins immediately relaxed at the thought of a prison stay over an execution.

Just as he had reached the proper authorities, the first Mandalorian to be captured made a noise in disbelief "oh, ****! No way" he said before chuckling in disbelief. He knocked his shoulder into the sniper and nodded his head toward Mecohn "Ain't that a spittin' image?" he said incredulously "He looks just like 'M. Hunt' don't he?" the sniper confirmed but wasn't much for conversation at the moment. The other took let out a wheezing laugh at his partner's quietness "Oh, I get it, Yeah. I'd be scared shitless too if I almost shot him," he leaned to look past Alastor and address the padawan directly.

"You gonna make sure we go to jail right, no mention of this yeah?"

Mecohn put his comm away, not even bothering to speak to the receptionist droid on the line. He looked directly at the man, his eyes locked on him. The shaky confidence the man had built up, melted from his features at the padawan's gaze. A low rumble was emanating from the boy's chest as his features slowly morphed from cold daggers to a burning rage. His mind screamed at him to demand answers but he refused to let himself be weak-willed. He turned away and retrieved his holocom once more.

"Don't worry, I'm sure the interrogation officers will treat you right," and with that, he walked away to make the call.
___________________________________________________________________

There were security officers on the premises and so the pickup didn't take much time. Mecohn wanted to go back to the temple so badly, to just train and meditate and... forget, but he wasn't going to have that pleasure. Not for a while at least. His mind wandered to Master Iyo. Her message. The way everything had happened today. The attack within moments of Amidala's arrival. The red-bladed force user's methods. The Mandalorians. The name. Could this be some trial? He sighed and stood away from the wall to speak with Alastor.

"I spoke with Detective Obrim and he says he'd like our assistance in the interrogation and to contact him when we're ready." Mecohn looked up at the man expectantly "I wasn't sure if we should head there immediately or if you thought a different course of action would be better." he knocked the toe of his boot into the ground to slip the shoe back on correctly. He'd only noticed now that they were a bit too large.

"They're a part of a group of criminals for hire called the "Velvet Fang"," Alastor said, as he glared at the Mandalorians who shrunk as they saw him glaring, "Got a friend in that organization that I could contact and see if she knows anything about this."

He tapped something into his comlink, getting an request to report to the Jedi Temple with the padawan after immediately assisting with the interrogation of the Mandalorians in reply. Grunting in dissatisfaction, he called Zeke and notified him the rendezvous would be delayed. Waving the padawan to come with him after using a unnecessarily powerful mind trick on both prisoners, he marched to the Jedi Temple on the feeling the interrogation would be there. He wasn't happy about today's events as he knew Jedi master Yoda would try to convince him to join the Jedi Order. This had better be worth coming to Coruscant for.

The City lights over Coruscant filled the air with a buzzing array of color, showing that the night had only begun to so many of the citizens. The Council sat about their circle, a constant ponderance about their faces as the group entered followed by the constrained prisoners. The investigation was over quickly; too quickly. The two criminals were only grunts and hadn't been informed of anything other than their objective. The earnest nature of their responses was unnerving and obviously forced from them. Mecohn couldn't help but glance over at Alastor throughout the process. When the prisoners finished, they were taken away quietly.

"Unsettling, this is," Yoda remarked, showing no such discomfort "but implausible, it is not." his eyes slowly tracked between the two of them. Mecohn felt a tightness in his stomach at that gaze.

"Done very well, you have, Young Padawan," he said with a smile before looking over the man to his right with a more serious expression "A time of great strife, I see. Your further aid, we may need," he was about to continue when Mecohn managed to calmly interject.

"With all due respect, Mister Alastor Kaine's assistance is greatly appreciated, and I can see the benefits of having him, but his methods are unsettling," Mecohn was quiet for a moment. Yoda considered the child's words as he spoke.

"He is powerful, but his potential influence could spell disaster for the future of the Jedi Order... worse even than the sith, for atleast they follow a code," the Masters around him seemed to ruminate on such a claim before Mace Windu spoke in his even unemotional tone.

"It would appear you've given this a deal of thought, Padawan. As have we and we have come to the decision that his influence would be dangerous but his expertise is indespensible. Luckily, Skywalker has agreed to escort Senator Amidala until this situation is resolved."

"The Red Fang, you must find. Their purpose, you must discover," Yoda quietly spoke toward Alastor, his knobbed cane held in both claws. He addressed Mecohn directly now "You will follow him,"

"Your master has remarked that you are quite the shadow. You will work as our eyes, Mecohn, and ensure that the enemy does not know we are onto them." Mecohn nodded dutifully before responding with a quiet "Understood,"

Mecohn walked wordlessly behind Alastor, his mind buzzing with concerns. Mecohn broke the long silence with a meek, shakey "So... I guess we're working together now, huh?". He chuckled a bit uncomfortably before sighing "This has been a long day. a-and about what I said earlier-" he sighed again. He had been honest about his opinion but now it seemed like he'd just gotten himself tied up in some assassination plot investigation and personally attacked this man; this guy who done nothing but save his and the senator's lives today. He ran a gloved hand through his hair and pulled a pained expression.

"I've been messing up all day today, and now the Jedi council wants ME to be their eyes" he chuckled before looking back up at Alastor "Could we, maybe start over?" he asked almost apologetically "I feel like it would do us some good. Maybe get a drink and not have to stop an assassination while we talk?". Mecohn only had a few credits on him for emergency situations, but this seemed like a good use.

"The only thing you messed up was doubting your instincts." Alastor said, his words sounding just like a Jedi Master, "You should have more faith in your instincts, Master Jedi."

His comlink beeped as he got an encrypted message from someone in Mandalorian. Smiling briefly, he typed something into his comlink that he sent back to the person before Padmé called thanking him and the Jedi who'd helped him for saving her. The following conversation was short, but he found out from her that she was returning to Naboo with Anakin and she wanted him with her in his fighter as an escort. He'd agreed to as he needed to go to Naboo to speak with the person who'd contacted him in Mandalorian anyhow. Those tasks done, he turned to the padawan as he remembered he'd asked something.

"We can start over, but we'll be leaving for Naboo come tomorrow with Senator Amidala and Jedi Skywalker," He said, sending a text message to Zeke to alert him of the change in plans and the updated itinerary, "The Senator has unofficially hired me as a fighter escort for her trip home, as you are assigned to spy on me, you're coming too. You got a fighter and astromech?"

Mecohn winced at Alastor's response. It was so often that his master remarked on his lack of confidence despite his ability. He tried, but sometimes he couldn't tell if it was instinct or nerves or something else.

"You got a fighter and astromech?"

Mecohn cracked a smirk at the man. He was knowledgeable about the force, but he definitely wasn't a Jedi. "Purchasing a glass is splurging, of course I don't have a ship," he pulled out his comm-link and debated something for a moment before placing it back in his left pocket "but I think I know where I can get one,"

______________________________________________________________

The lower levels of Coruscant were packed with people and bustling. The bright lights of the market district dazzled and illuminated the area, giving the air an unnatural blue hue. Mecohn had stopped several times to stare at the large holographic advertisements and dancer feeds that permeated the district. The two found a place at a relatively calm cantina, taking a seat at the bar, Mecohn noted that the stool was too tall for his feet to touch the ground. The bartender gave the pair a sideways glance before idly cleaning a mug with a rag that seemed too dirty to be doing anything in the glasses favor. Mecohn had second thoughts about the place immediately, but he'd already committed.

Before even attempting to wave down the man for a drink, Mecohn made a noise "So, you have a Mandalorian friend? How does anyone come in contact with them and not get their head cut off?" it was supposed to be a joke, but it came out harsher than he'd meant it to.

"I'm not one to devulge information on my contacts," He said, minding their surroundings, "But she owes me a life debt for helping her get out of slavery due to her older brother selling her into it."

He felt a patron tap on his shoulder. Ignoring it, he found himself forcefully turned sideways by a male Twi'lek. He smiled politely, but he knew this would get ugly quick. He used the force pull a mug behind the Twi'lek far enough to shatter on the floor after tipping off the counter. The owner of the mug, a Gungan with one eye, caused a fight with the Twi'lek for supposedly costing him a drink. Alastor leaving enough credits to pay for four drinks for both him and the padawsn combined, took the mug he was given and bailed.

"Heard it from the back say, "Everyone Attack!!", and it turned into a cantine-room blitz." he said a suprised chucked as the whole Cantina went to hell as it turned into a free-for-all among the patrons, "Didn't see that coming. First time I ever vacated a cantina for something I wasn't directly involved in."

Just a heads up, my reply speed will be rather slow for now. I haven't abandoned any rps at the moment but my ability to reply at the rate i was before has diminished by a great deal. I will get to the rps that need replys but it may be a bit in the meantime. Thanks.

Mecohn winced as Alastor spoke about his contact. It wasn't completely apparent why but something about what he'd say was weighing on his mind. Mecohn sipped at his water absentmindedly as he focused in on the sounds of the cantina. The band was mediocre but passionate about each song it played, filling the cantina with an almost jolly vibe. Chummy inebriated conversations picked up in volume and sloppy romantic advances on the occasional server or dancer were met with amusement instead of harsh disgust or spurn. Even with all the noise, his ears caught something strange from a far corner. The voice was smooth and icy as it spoke to another patron. The one it spoke with held no such grace in its speech; slurring and sputtering words at varying speeds, obviously intoxicated past the point of reason. The conversation was possibly the farthest away from them and definitely on the quieter side, yet it pierced Mecohn's ears. It was clear that the more controlled of the two was inciting rage into the less inhibited one. His breathing grew rapid and he made his way to them within moments of their conversation.

Mecohn watched the next few moments unfold with something between awe and horror making its way onto his features. He deftly avoided swings, soaring bottles, crashing bodies and tumbling furniture as the atmosphere took a 180 in no time. He quietly made his way out behind Alastor, like a youngling following their chaperone.

"Didn't see that coming. First time I ever vacated a cantina for something I wasn't directly involved in." Alastor commented as they made their way out of the lower levels. Mecohn made a nervous noise in confirmation. It was hard to take instinct at face value sometimes, but Alastor had been right; he needed to trust himself more.

"I think you might be more involved than you think," he added in a small voice. He wasn't sure if he'd even hear him.

"I assume having strange allies also comes with strange enemies?" he said this a bit louder, but again it could easily have gone unheard in the commotion of the city streets. He was quiet for a while as they traveled. His mind was working hard piecing together what information it had while trying its damnedest not to implicate itself in the equation: it was failing spectacularly. Something kept telling him it was all too coincidental, a force-sensitive man outside the order with shady connections to an ex-slave ends up being his partner for some escort mission, that just happens to be the target of some Mandalorian crime ring?

Was this some sort of cruel joke? Was this a test? Something was starting to agitate him more and more about the whole situation.

"How did those grunts know my brother's name? Who the hell is 'M. Hunt?'"

He turned for a moment to face Alastor, something like frustration and sadness coloring his features. He didn't want this mission. He didn't want to be tested like this.

"I-I think I can make it back on my own now. See you in the morning," his voice shook only for a moment before steadying itself. He was just tired. It had been a long day.

"Whatever you say, Kid." Alastor said, handing him one of his spare comlinks, "By the way, What was your name again? I didn't catch it the first time."

He tossed the now empty mug back the way they had come. Flipping the hood of his black cloak over his head, he sent a message to Zeke saying it would be a slightly bit longer before they left. A rude bleat was his answer, which he ignored. Zeke was always like this when forced to wait. He was used to this from him.
