Sky was still daydreaming when he heard a sound from behind him. The square had been quiet today so he couldn't help wondering what the commotion had been. That's when he heard the first scream. His heartbeat quickened in response, sure that it was a Heartless attack. His hand itched a bit, anticipating the familiar weight of his keyblade. As he turned to face the potential threat, a long and cruel-looking blade buried itself point first in the ground in front of him. Instinctively Sky rolled backwards, narrowly avoiding the shockwave created by the impact. The Darkness that dripped from every surface of the blade coalesced before his eyes. Black bat-like wings stretched almost leisurely as a wicked looking tail flicked behind the Heartless Invisible.
Flames danced on Sky's fingertips as he cast his spell. The roaring fireball launched through the space between him and the heartless only to be snuffed out as, in a blur of motion it retrieved it's blade and slashed through the oncoming blaze and closed on Sky. There was a flash of light as sky summoned his keyblade just in time to block the Invisible's assault, muscles straining under the heavy blow. The monster's eyes glowed, yellow and soulless. Sky had to keep it away from any bystanders, although it's focus would predominantly be on him as a keyblade wielder. Sky's expression turned to a sneer. They were lethal but, in their mindlessness, many heartless became predictable which Sky could turn to his advantage so long as he didn't get careless. The combatants parted briefly, squaring up before closing in a clash of blades that sent sparks flying in all directions. They disengaged, the Heartless firing a sphere of dark energy that Sky deflected with his Keyblade.
Darkness massed at Sky's feet causing him to leap back just in time to avoid the attack of a newly appeared Shadow, apparently drawn to the fight. Six more Shadows took form in front of him. As always they remained completely silent, bodies pitch black save for the huge glowing yellow eyes that stared eternally. They twitched about eerily as their soulless gaze levelled on Sky, leaving him now with seven heartless to defeat in addition to the Invisible. The first shadow leaped at him, throwing a wild claw attack. The boy dashed forward dispatching the Heartless with a spinning slash and landed in a crouch before rolling to dodge the claws of the other Shadows. He dashed past, taking out two more with quick slashes as he passed, causing their bodies to dissolve into darkness. He frantically cast his gaze about, trying to locate the Invisible before it could catch him off guard.
His eyes locked on his target and the air filled with the smell of ozone as Sky cast a spell, calling lighting down on the Invisible. Before the spell could connect however the Heartless simply vanished leaving only it's floating sword surrounded by a dark aura. The tip of the sword slowly levelled at Sky before flying straight at him. Sparks flew from his keyblade as he parried, the blade flying past him before pivoting to rocket at him again. He jumped back to avoid it, having to throw off a Shadow that launched itself at him. More Shadows emerged, surrounding him and distracting him just enough to to be slow dodging the next attack from the possessed sword. Pain lanced through his face as the blade caught his cheek.
He threw his keyblade sending it spinning through an oncoming Shadow as he dodge-rolled the next strike from the sword, this time it rocketing skyward. He caught his keyblade as it came spinning back to his hand, destroying another Shadow on its return path and kept his eye on the Invisible's sword. The sword glowed briefly, before slamming into the ground. Sky threw up a quick reflect spell to block the shockwave eyes narrowing as he waited for the Invisible to reappear. There it was floating above the sword, briefly stunned. Sky took his opportunity while it was momentarily defenseless and attacked, unleashing a flurry of aerial blows. He could do this he ended his combo with a mighty vertical slash, hoping that it would be enough to defeat it. The Invisible exploded into dark mist that flowed around Sky as he landed, panting from the exertion. A wild claw from a shadow struck him in the back, causing him to bite back a cry of pain. The major threat was defeated but Sky was still in danger of being overwhelmed by the seething tide of Heartless that surrounded him.
