A man in a nice suit sat in the void his face seemingly made of the void around him. To anyone else who looked it would seem he was starring off into the void, when in reality he was searching over the vast number of universes he held domain over for someone. Someone to entertain this bored God, a plaything to mess with to end this nonstop boredom that had come after the fall of the major gods. After years of glorious war he now sat the lone victor, and victory was boring him out of his mind.

That is when he found him, someone who may just be able to relieve this endless boredom even if only for a short time. With a flick of his wrist a deck of strange cards appeared in his hands and he moved to set his plan in motion. "Lets hope this game lasts longer than the last," was all the God said before disappearing.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

An average middle aged looking man in a business suit sat in the corner booth of some run down bar in some run down part of town. He sat shuffling a set of strange looking cards some looked destroyed well others looked brand new. As you sit down in from of him he begins to speak well ignoring you in favor of his cards. " Care for a little game? Its quite a simple game really and the rewards are great." After saying this the man smiled looking up from his cards for the first time since you sat down.

"The rules are simple. First one applies more to me than you and that is no direct interference. I will not directly interfere in your progress through our little game. Second, You can not under any circumstances to reveal the game to those who are not playing the game. Finally, should you ever succeed and make it to the end of the game and beat the final task you will be granted one wish. Anything you could ever hope or dream of." As he finished speaking the man finished shuffling his cards, laying three cards on the table and asked one question, "Are you ready to play?"

Usually Lucifer didn't go to this part of town. It wasn't that he was a snob or anything like that. He just didn't see the need to go there. Usually. Today was different though. It was almost like a force was telling him to go to the less than elegant part of town. To this run down bar specifically. Entering the smoky atmosphere, he was almost drawn immediately towards a man in a suit in a booth in the back of the bar.

Not liking that one bit, Lucifer took his time making his way towards that man. Towards what awaited him there. The closer his came, the clearer it became to see what the man was doing. He was shuffling an unusual deck of cards. Some looked well worn while others looked as if they hadn't been used before now. Now that was curios. Why keep some cards and replace others?

Sliding in across from him, Lucifer laid his hand on the table. The rules were explained and Lucifer couldn't find fault in them. Nodding his consent, he looked at the three cards before him. "May I?" Without really waiting for an answer, he touched each card. The first two didn't jolt him. Didn't speak to him as an artist would say he guessed. But the last one. The last one sent shivers down his spine. The singed edge. The strange material. Not even realizing he was sealing his fate, he picked that card up and flipped it over to see what could possibly be on the other side.

The card bore a dragon that flew in a circle on the card breathing small spouts of fire leaving small burns in the card that seemed to disappear shortly after. As the dragon circled the man smiled before speaking, "Good choice, the card of the dragon. Not where I would have chosen to start but you do strike me as a man up for a challenge. Best of luck," The man stood before adding with an evil smile, "you'll need it." After the words left his mouth the dragon on the card stopped and faced Lucifer before breathing a mass of flames into his face.

Lucifer woke up in rags, his hands bound, being wheeled somewhere in the back of a cart with a group of men, who were also bound. The terrain around them covered in snow, the air chilling to the bone. one of the bound men in the cart spoke as they were wheeled down the road, "Finally awake eh."

Surely he was imagining things. He could almost swear the dragon depicted on the card was actually burning it. And flying in a circle. But surely it was just one of those holographic cards that changes when you move it. Yeah. That had to be it. There was no way the dragon was actually moving. It was just a trick of the lighting and such. But it was such a good lighting trick. He had never seen a holographic card with so many different positions. Lucifer would have to ask the strange man where he had gotten the card.

Opening his mouth to ask that question, a look of confusion crossed his face. "What do you mea-" The question wasn't even finished before the lack of movement caught his eyes and made him look down. Just in time for the fire to hit his face. The card was release on instinct as Lucifer gave a small yelp before blacking out.

Waking up had been a threat. His last memory was getting a face full of flames so the first thing he did was move his hands to pat at his face as he wiggled about. Which is how he found out his hands were bound. They bonked him in the face and he let out a groan as he finally opened his eyes to look about him. These were his clothes. Why were his hands bound? What happened to the bar? Just where the hell was he?

Hearing a voice, he looked over to look at the one who had spoke. "Yeah...Where the hell am I?" The rules echoed in his head. Was this a part of the game? Was this just some trick so the guy could put him on the human trafficking highway? Who were these other people? How was he gonna get out of this mess now?

"They must have hit you pretty hard if you can't remember where you are. Skyrim friend, or more specifically on the route with all of us to Helgen," the man spoke as the cart neared a gate. As they approached one of the guards on the wall yell, "General Tullius sir, the headsman is waiting." The cart moved through the town toward a tower with log and a large man with an ax in front of it. When the cart stopped next to the cart that was in front of them they were ushered out. "Step Forward when we call your name," the words came from a man with book and quill. They went through the list until they reached a the last name on the list. The man claimed to not be a rebel and ran when they did not believe him earning himself an arrow in the back. The man with the book and quill turned back to Lucifer and spoke, "Your not on the list..." he was cut off by the armored woman next to him "It doesn't matter add him in and send him over with the rest." The man seemed a little unhappy with the idea but spoke anyway, "name?"

"Yeah. Pretty hard." Skyrim? As in that silly computer game? But this...This wasn't a computer game. The feel of the rope on his wrists and the smells that assaulted his nose saw to that. Unless they managed to perfect immersion gaming between the time he entered the bar and now. Something he seriously doubted. He would have to tread carefully here. One wrongly asked question and he would be breaking rule number two of this little game he had started. He really didn't want to know the penalties of doing such a thing. Lucifer doubted they would be anything pleasant.

"You could say that..." He was about to ask why they were all here when he heard the guard yell. Headsman. That didn't sound like it was them being taken in for tea and cupcakes. Quite the opposite in fact.

Roll call list huh? He thought he had left that behind long ago. Hearing the names come off one by one, he wondered if his would be on there. Rule number one was no direct interference, but this wouldn't exactly be direct would it? He waited for his name to be called. He winced as the last name rang out into the air and the man protested his right to be there. Traitors huh? Not even a five minutes into this world and he was already a traitor? This would be interesting to talk his way out of. Or escape from as he saw first hand what happened when one did try to run away. An arrow to the back wasn't exactly how Lucifer wanted to go down.

Though as the man recording informed him that he wasn't on the list, Lucifer had a spark of hope. Until the woman all but dashed that to smithereens. "My mom taught me to be polite to ladies, but I do not believe that included rude ones such as yourself." Rolling his shoulders, he gave a half shrug. "As for my name...Most people don't exactly like it. Sure you want it?"

"Forget the name take him over with the rest," the female captain said with anger in her voice. An imperial soldier moved to escort Lucifer to the group. At the block a man dressed as a commander stood next to one of the men from Lucifer's cart. "Ulfric Stormcloak, Some here in Helgen call you a hero, but a hero doesn’t use a power like the voice to murder his king and usurp the throne." hatred could be heard in the mans voice. Ulfric growled before the old commander continued, "You started this war, flung Skyrim into chaos. And now the Empire is going to put you down and restore the peace." In the distance a roar could be heard but was ignored by the commander as he told the captain to carry on. She turned to the priestess and spoke "Give them their last rights."

The priestess was quickly cut off by one of the stormcloaks, "Come on! I haven’t got all morning!" The rebel moved up to the block and knelt before looking at the headsman and spoke, "my ancestors are smiling at me, imperials. Can you say the same?" The headsman brought his ax down on the man ending him quick. The Captain kicked the body out of the way, "You next butthole," was all she said as she pointed to Lucifer. The soldier from earlier lead Lucifer to the block forcing him to kneel in front of it. As the headsman began to swing the dragon that was on the card, massive unlike on the card, landed on the tower and began to attack people at random causing the imperials to panic. As the soldiers moved to attack the headsman moved for safety.

With the soldiers detracted a man in full black light armor ran up to the block and helped Lucifer up. "Come on we won't have long before they get reorganized," as he spoke he moved to lead Lucifer out of the town as the imperials fought the dragon and the stormcloaks scattered.

"Awwww. There goes my opportunity to learn yours my dear. Probably for the best. It might reflect what a sour personality you have." Yes, Lucifer. That was the way to get out of this situation. Smart mouth off to the guard. He didn't know what had come over him to make him do that. He just knew that the woman captain had rubbed him the wrong way from the first second they had interacted. It didn't help that this might very well be his last moments, might as well go out with a bang so to speak.

Hearing the commander, Lucifer just shrugged and mumbled under his breath. "Depends on the hero and how naughty the king had been." If he hadn't been worthy of the traitor title before, he sure as hell was now. As one of the rebel's interrupted the priestess, Lucifer threw him a glare. "Hey now! This could have been important for some of us." Turning to the priestess, he gave her a low bow. It would have been sweeping, but his hands were bound in front of him. "Forgive him. Some of us find last rites highly important and if not too late, I would like them to be preformed at least over my dead corpse." He then cast the female guard a glance that basically said, 'see? this is how manners are done you...'

He didn't even regret it as he was pointed out to be next. "Better than being a rude, interrupting, paperclip for brains captain of nothing. At least, by being an butthole, people automatically know I'm not nice. Unlike you." Being forced to kneel caused him to wince. "Hey! I know the drill. I've seen enough...of these to know what to do." He was about to say movies, but stopped himself in time there.

Laying his head on the block, he closed his eyes and prepared for the worst. What he didn't expect was to hear a dragon. Opening his eyes, he looked wide eyed at the massive beast. He knew that dragon! He knew it! It was the one from the card. Damn it all! Feeling a hand on his shoulder pulling him up, he stood up swiftly and looked at the man in the armor. "Considering this is something that probably happens a lot around here, I would say so." He followed the man in the black armor. Not really knowing what else to do at this point.

The sounds of battle could be heard in the distance as they ran out the front gate of Helgen, the guards distracted by the dragon. As they reached the woods just outside the town the man in black armor stopped and turned to Lucifer. "This should help you find your way around," the man handed Lucifer a map before continuing, "may the stranger guide you." After the man finished speaking he ran off into the woods disappearing into the trees shortly after.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The man in the void sat watching as the events in Helgen unfolded a smile visible through the void that shrouded his face. "And so the game begins. I do hope he lasts longer than the last one," the man was interrupted by a voice. "From what has been seen of his life I am sure he will succeed even if it is only for the first card," the man turned to the origin of the voice looking at the man from the bar. "I see you have finally found your way home," With those words the man from the bar faded changing into a shadow of the void around him and knelt.

Lucifer took the map and kept a bland expression on his face as he made comments to the man's retreating back. "Gee thanks. This will help me so much." Granted, this was all before looking at the map. Actually looking down, Lucifer realized this would be highly helpful. The only downside was he had no idea where to go. Other than away from the city he had just left. Helen something or another.

His eyes scanned it back and forth until he finally found it. Helgen. That was it! Seeing that it was nearly at the edge of map, he decided to go towards the sea. Surely that would be fair enough away from that cursed place. Then again, he suspected he could be in another world and it still wouldn't be far enough away.

Rolling up and tucking the map in a safe place, (or as safe of a place as he could manage to find among the rags he wore anyway) he set off heading in the general direction of the Sea of Ghosts.

He just hoped he survived the journey.

An individual in black similar to the man who save Lucifer followed from the shadows watching over him to lead him where he must go. It was their duty to guide the young man on his journey and help him survive. In an attempt to lead Lucifer to his true destination the individual in black moved ahead leaving a bow, a sword, and some new clothes for him to find with a note that read. Find Whiterun and tell the Jarl about the dragon in Helgen.

Unfortunately for their goals and Lucifer's luck a group of bandits were setting up shop a short way down the road to Whiterun. "You two get in the bushes and shut up will you we don't need them seeing you and running before they get to us. And will you please stop whipping off the blood how you supposed to look injured and in need of help if theirs no blood," the annoyed bandit leader moved for his own hiding spot near the road as he yelled at his compatriots.

Lucifer almost tripped over the bundle that was left to him. "What the hell?" Looking down, he found new clothes which he immediately changed into. They fit a lot better too, though he could have sworn the shirt had been a little too big when he first put it on. Shrugging, he strapped the sword to his waist and firmed his grip on the bow while holding a few arrows in his hand. Better to be prepare for trouble than not be. He had learned that already from the short time he had been here. That and he was pretty sure that female captain would track down his butt just to see his head on that block.

"Whiterun huh? Well. Why not?" It was still away from Helgen and better than just wondering through this place with no goal in mind. Setting off, it wasn't long before he came across the bandits and their scene set up so to speak. Pausing to look at the scene before him, he notched an arrow and drew back the bow halfway. Just in case whatever had done this was still lurking about as he moved to the nearest bandit to see if he was still alive and if he could offer any help.

"Just a little closer," the bandit whispered to himself as he waited for Lucifer to approach their trap. As he approached the fake injured the bandit moved out from his spot aiming his bow at Lucifer and spoke, "Drop your valuables and we may just let you live." The intimidation factor was however lost when the other two, who were hiding on the other side of the road, stood their bows also aimed at Lucifer. As they stood they, having been to close to one another and standing to fast, tripped over one another falling down the short hill toward the road. The two fools landed atop those faking injury leaving only the leader actually capable of fighting. Said leader merely sighed before speaking, anger apparent in his tone, "Just one time I would like you two idiots to not screw everything up."

Meanwhile in a dark temple somewhere in Skyrim the two individuals in black from before were knelt in front of an individual in a long black cloak that covered his face. One of the two spoke as they remained knelt in front of the cloaked figure, "he was given the tools and sent in the right direction my lord." "Good, good, hopefully he will do what only he can accomplish. Should he fail all of Tamriel will suffer for his failure." The cloaked figure began moving toward a map of Skyrim that hung on the wall before continuing, "You two shall be place in charge of his protection. Do not allow yourselves to be discovered by anyone. We can not have ourselves being investigated by the Empire at such a crucial time." At this order the two stood and said only, "Yes my lord," before leaving the room as the cloaked figure remained to study the map.

Lucifer looked at the bandit leader and then at his fallen followers. He couldn't help himself by what he saw. It was just too funny of a sight. Laughter bubbled up in him and pretty soon, he couldn't hold it back. Laughing for a few seconds, he shook his head and started to walk past the leader and on his way to Whiterun. "First off, you are now one on one. Secondly, I own no valuables so really I have nothing to drop. Thirdly..." He turned around quickly, shooting an arrow just past the bandit leader's head. "I do not think you want a one on one with me and archery."

No need to know that he actually shot that arrow a lot closer to the leader's head than he had meant too. It worked well for his bluff at least and he really hoped the leader didn't decide to call it. "I'm not really in the mood for this. I nearly got my head chopped off at Helgen. Was saved by a dragon showing up and then basically dumped into the woods. Not to mention, I agreed to something I'm starting to regret agreeing too earlier today in a bar. Really not in the mood to mess with you guys and I don't think I have anything worthwhile for you to even try and mess with me."

"Hey now no need to kill anyone here. It was a joke... heh.. yea a joke that's all," as he spoke the bandit dropped his bow and backed away with his hands in the air. "Maybe I should look into a safer line of work. One where I am not stuck working with these idiots," was all he though as he glared at the pile of idiots. Two figures watched the exchange as they returned to see the bandit backing away. "He's doing pretty well for someone who was in rags and about to loose his head not to long ago," one of the figures whispered. The only response was a slight nod from the other.

In Lucifer's head a small drum roll played as a strange screen appeared in front of him. With the screen's appearance the world around him seemed to freeze in place. On the screen were the standard stats from RPG games with a number and arrows next to them and the number 15 in the corner.

Well...That was the easiest thing he had face so far. The only down side was he did lose an arrow, but it was worth it. Considering he could have lost a lot more than just that. Though when the drum rolled played, he nearly jumped out of his skin and almost spun around back on the bandits. When the screen appeared, Lucifer quickly realized what had happened. Apparently he had leveled up. "So this is very much like Skyrim then. Not just a world, but like I'm actually in the game." Noticing he had 15 points to play with, he started to even them out as much as possible among his stats. He didn't know what he was going to face or what path he wanted to take so right now keeping everything even was a good plan. By the end of it, he had no points left over and everything else got five points added to them.

Looking around for the okay button, he hoped there was one. Or something that would let the game unfreeze. He would hate to be in this place for the rest of his life. Sure. He could move, but he doubted he could do what needed to be done if nothing else did.

As the screen vanished the world around him seemed to become clearer and details normally missed seen to stand out a little better. The sounds of the creatures and people around him becoming clearer well the his equipment began to feel lighter in his hands. As his physical abilities settled in their new level the world around him seemed to resume as it was. The bandit leader, assuming Lucifer was leaving he began to loot his unconscious compatriots, "Maybe I will become a mercenary or something.".

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

In the void the suited man watching the events unfold sighed. "I really underestimated this worlds violent content," he turned to the void figure before continuing, "For your sake I hope he runs into something interesting soon rather than a bunch of fools that a child could handle." If a figure that seemed to be made of nothing could look scared this is probably what it looked like as the figure seemed to sink back from the man, "I am sure with a world filled with cults to death gods, Demonic princes, and dragons their will be some entertainment to be had." The suited man scoffed at the statement only saying, "tell that to fools that tried to rob him."

Lucifer just shook his head and continued on the trail. It was a little easier now. Not everything seemed as heavy. Not that it was heavy to begin with, but he were to compare now to when he started, he could tell a small difference. His sight and hearing was something else entirely. Things had been a little fuzzy before now and now...Now it was like he had the right kind of glasses on. Least that is what he could compared it too as he continued on down the path. He could animals rustling about in the trees and grass a lot better than he could before and even as he turned his head back to look at the bandit leader, he could still make him out fairly clearly.

Should he invite him? It would be nice to have someone who knew the area. On the other hand, he didn't want to have to watch his back twenty four seven. As the leader proved when Lucifer saw him raid his own comrades. Yeah...He would find a better guide to this world. For now, he would just do the best he could without sticking out too much. He could do that, right?

Nazir stood over his recently neutralized target and was preparing to leave when a figure in black entered the room. As would be expected the dark brotherhood assassin moved to handle the figure only to be thrown across the room by a blast of magic. "Tell your leader the stranger needs to speak to her about your recent attacks on certain people of interest to us," as the figure spoke it pulled a letter from its jacket and placed it on the table. Nazir attempted to recover only to find the figure gone with the letter on the table. Grabbing the letter Nazir left to speak with Astrid about this "stranger" and receive the pay for the target.

As Lucifer walked he came to a split in the road. According to the map the path on the right lead to a valley farmland well the other continued on through the snowy forest. From appearances the left was shorter but had markings that suggested bandits frequent them. The right though longer would be safer due to the recent problem with crops in other areas making it important to the empire.

Lucifer looked at the map as he came to the fork in the road. On one hand, he did want to get out of this place pretty fast. On the other hand, he didn't like being attacked by bandits every time he turned around. There was also the fact that while guarded by the empire and thus safer, if it was the same empire he had just barely escaped from...Well, he didn't see them as welcoming him with open arms or anything like that. Not if that female captain was still around and had anything to say about it. At least bandits usually didn't hold too many grudges.

Or he hoped so anyway as that was the path he picked. The shorter one littered with bandits and such. He just hoped that it wasn't too cold now or that he found a cloak along the way. He really didn't want to get frostbite. Not way out here where anything could go.
