Kira the Blood Dragon

The clanks of chains and shackles beat and slithered along the stone ground Kira could only feel its smooth stony granite under her feet, as they had yet to lower her tired frame from the rope. Her eyes barred from light as the blindfold hung around her delicate brown eyes, her wrist were raw from the blasted rope that hung her in place. The air was dry and moist like mold it left a nasty after taste in her mouth as she tried to keep the moisture in as her mouth continually felt dry. The echo of feet could be heard across the granite ground Kira shivered at the thought again they would show there "product" god how she hated hanging there like a piece of meat. The pain in her wrist was becoming unbearable as she felt the warm blood begin its travel down her bare arm. The echo of feet stopped in front of her cage like cell she listened and waited to see what they wanted from her once again.

The room is dark cold and damp the sound of dripping water and metal is all that fills the room as the dark shadow of a young man slowly comes to. Visibility is darkness he puts his hands out searching for the wall he finds it running his hands along the cold damp wall he uses it to move around to help navigate through the complete darkness of the room.Until he reaches the end of the wall where his hand grazes what feels like metal bars. As the other hand leans over he realized yes he was in a confinement cell but why? what did he do he thought? more importantly as he tried to make sense of all of this confusion. The young man realized he didnt not only know why he was in this room but who he was all together!

The sound of shuffling along the granite floor could be heard by her delicate ears as she hung by her small writs. A light evil chuckle erupted the silence that hung in the air, Kira made a scowl with her pink lips as she heard the male chuckle. There was denying it was a male the smell of liquor wafted to her nose, he must have been smiling for Kira shivered not liking the silence that now clung in the dark air. "So the girl can sense me near can she" she man said as he began to reach within her cell. Hearing his voice creep closer to her she gathered her strength and kicked for the front of the cage successfully hitting his hand.

"AGH Damn ****ing kicked me" he yelled as he now held his broken hand Kira stood on her toes with a satisfied grin on her pink lips. "That will teach you to touch a lady" she said her smirk still visible on her lips. Another set of footsteps could be heard they came in a calm rhythm as the neared closer and closer. Finally the sound stopped at her cell "Now now Kira we have spoken about this time and time again" he said his voice like cool ice "You must not harm the guards or I will have to harm that pretty body of yours" he said with a wicked smile. She didn't have to see to know that was what he looked like she had only seen him once before dark hair dark eyes like a pit. That was what stuck out to her till they had blindfolded her, he was the Head of the Guard Crono was his name. "Well Crono if you keep your pigs hands off of me I'll make sure not to break anymore hands" she said trying to remain confident trying to show no sign of weakness.

Several what felt like hours had gone by but there was really no real way to tell all the young man saw was what seemed like black abyss.He was now on his hands and knees to what was the floor to maybe find any sign of item object or even light, The floor was as cold as the air around him if not colder the young man was sure if there was light he could see his breath being so cold.At this time the young fellow grows frustrated with the idea in his head it was hopeles to try and find away out the young man figured he was going to die in this frozen prison if not from starvation or freezing to death perhaps he would loose his mind. the one thing about this total shut out of darkness is the man felt as if he could hear everything but from which directions they were coming from and what was making the noises he couldnt tell.It seemed the more frustrated he grew the colder it got and just when he feels like the darkness is going to suck his mind away he heres a different sound a foreign sound not yet heard in this wretched ice box prison.The noise sounded as though someone or something was rustling through a cabinet or even some type of drawer as the rustling seem to stay in one place at the same tone it went on for a few seconds more until it silently went out and the mans shadowy face became even more glum when he wondered what was that noise and why did it stop is it another person perhaps another prisoner like him. He wondered and thought even harder now the silence became even quieter now with the perish of the rustling the man made his way to his feet now and found his way to the bars possible trying to spot a light or figure out what the noise was some clue as to what he just heard.But little did the man know all his questions were about to be answered sooner then he expected when out of the darkness came a cold direct voice ''Not quite used to the darkness are we?""

Kira shivered as she heard the creak of the cell door open "Lower her" Crono ordered he watched her small frame collapse along the floor. Kira looked up her eyes hiding as the fear coursed though her as she realized she had done it again. Torture rang in her mind as Crono's icy touch glided across her bare skin panic began a steady rise in her as she tried to fight back. But Crono was too strong and she had been without food and enough water to properly fight back. She felt like an animal brought to slaughter and knew it was soon to become dinner. "Please no no no" she whispered as Crono lifted her over his shoulders.

Her short hair hung over her face as she heard the guards snicker and gawk at her as Crono walked with her over his shoulder like a child. Crono patted her leg softly "Now now Kira I won't hurt you too badly you know I like you to much" he purred as he placed his cheek against her leg. At the shock of what he did she tried fighting him off again only having his grip become tighter around her small frame. Tears began to fall along the cold granite ground as he carried her along to where he would punish her. As the finally reached the area she could hear more voices nearby "He must be talking to one of the other captives" she thought as Crono placed her down on the cold granite floor. Her face held against the cold wall as the fastened her to the wall. As the shackles clinked and clanked as she now stood in place against the wall Crono pulled out a whip which cracked at its release. Kira shivered in fear at the sound remembering the other times of pain it brought "You brought this on yourself" were Crono's last words before the whip lashed out at the bare tender flesh of her legs and the hall was filled with her screams.

Immiediately follwing that cold direct voice the young man swiftly looked dead ahead directly infront of him is where the origin of the voice lead his ears with a pattern of vile smirks ..heh.heh.heh as soon as the last smirk hit his ear drum the room slowly began to light up it hurt the mans eyes at first they werent adjusted to the light after being left alone in the dark for so long but he covered and rubbed his eyes to try and cut down the blurried line of vision he notice the shadowy siloette of this blurru figure.. when the figure spoke again 'I said not quite used to the cold are we?!' the man understood what he said both times but for some reason couldnt find the words to answer back and kept to himself. 'Tsk' the guard annoyed with the silence coming from the prisoner' Dont get to comfortable your going to be getting a little company heh heh' the man didnt know what he ment and just as he was asking the guard what exactly he ment thats when he heard it.. screams of unbearably pain filled up the entire hallway and at that moment his vision seemed to have cleared from the adrenaline of those terrifying and horrible screams frozen in terror for just a second the man snapped out of it and immiedately realized he had full functions of his sight again he was looking around the cell he was in and feeling a sting of annoyyance when he saw that on the wall was a large metal table hanging used most likely as a bed if he would have known that he would have gladly used the metel bed instead of all those times on the damp cold floor.Just as he was still in his train of thought the guard smirked 'heh; one last time and started to proceed down the echoed hallway. The man snapped back into and and rushed the bars to the cell and unloaded a barrage of questions..''Who are you! What am i doing here?! What is this place!? as soon as he got to the end of place the guard lunged back toward the cell bars and the man took out what appeared to be some sort of lead pipe but by the time he noticed it was to late the guard had smacked him in the shoulder sending the man darting toward the ground in pain.the guard spoke one last time'' like i said dont get to comfortable''

Sweat and tears was all that Kira could feel as he face laid against the hard stone wall, small sniffling she made trying to clean herself up. Crono and his lackey's had left her her legs uncovered and bleeding slightly, she cursed Crono as her mind said his name. In a not so distant cage she could hear the sound of someone else. Kira moved her legs so that the cold wind no longer caress her wounded legs "Damn him" she said to herself as she moved trying to not cry out in pain. Another guard was nearby but his footsteps had became weaker and weaker as the seconds passed on. Yet still a rustling she could hear "Hello" she called into the darkness hoping to justify her ears and not be deemed insane.

It was several minutes after the sound of the guards footsteps fadded into the dim set hallway when the man heard what sounded like the faint greeting of a women. He didnt know whether or not he was going crazy or if he had actually heard a women and why would a women be in a place like this he wondered.He tried looking down the hallway as best he could but nothing but dim light towards the end of the dark hallway he felt like he was going crazy he thought to him self swiftly over and over maybe i should reply back? reply to what he wasnt shore if anything was there or not and he rememebers the last time he shouted he took a swift hit from one of the guards. Finally he thought to him self to hell with it he took a deep breath and responded towards the darkness down the hallway'' Helloo! is anyone there?'' But the replys were nothing but silent he said it 2 more times the the second just a little bit louder 'HELOO! anybody there!?''.. still silence he was just about to give up when something answered in the distant dark corridor..

A voice echoed through the blackness the reeling relief stunned her, had she really been that lonely? She thought as she laid against the cool granite wall. The flash of people crossed though her mind as the man called out once more. She could tell by the gruffness it was a male,raising her tired head needing the comfort of another she pushed herself to move from the wall. The guards had left some slack for the shackles after they let go of them leaving her room to move around.

The clink and clank of her chains scrapped and scratched across its surface as she gently pulled herself along its cold surface. Her legs screamed in pain as she moved silently to the voice that echoed through the darkness. "Metal!" her mind screamed as her fingertips touched its cold surface "Hello" she said weakly to the voice that had called through the dark.

At this time the young man jumped back as the weak greeting of a Hello entered the cold room of the cell. It was a women he was sure of it as he slowly but swiftly made his way to the cell bars, as he looked down across the floor there was a young girl about around the same age as himself he thought to himself. Black hair the clothes of a begger he thought but then his eyes got around to her lower half where he noticed her legs were badly wounded. He didn't know who or how this exactly happened but he could tell by the girls condition that it was taking all her strength just to call out to him..he didnt know what exactly to say in this situation. With that in mind he nervously and ignorantley said to the girl "..a a are you ok?".

Relief coursed through Kira as a small tear streaked her dirt smudge face as the comfort of company filled her. Just knowing she was no longer alone which gave her a small bit of hope as she peered into the bars. "I will be fine in time" she said weakly her breaths coming in small increments as she smiled weakly at the other prisoner. "My name is Kira, what is yours friend?" she asked gently as her small fingers gently rested against the cold bar. Crickets could be heard in the distant as her gaze ventured upward awaiting for the morning sun to erase the chill that clung to her skin. Kira rolled onto her stomach so that her tender legs did not become infected by the unclean grounds her head rested gently on her arm.

The man had a look of confusion from Kira's question and paused for several moments before snapping back into reality turning to her as he spoke'' I..I.. don't know I cant seem to recall all I remember is waking up to this nightmare'' with a look of dissappointment on his face not being able to respond to kira's question. With a look of confusion back on his face he then began to nervously outburst to Kira with questions. '' What is this place? do you have any idea how we got here?! and what the hell is this place?''. The man stopped there the outburst were clearly telegraphed from being afraid and not knowing, but right then he sighed an exhale of relief as it was nice to finally talk to someone after being alone in the dark for so long. He knew now all he could do was listen to what kira had to say.

Kira looked up at the man his words not surprising her she had known the effects of the foreign drug that pulsed through her system even now. She had regained some memories like her name, where she grew up but faces and people she had known in her old life were few and brief. "Shhhh...calmness friend" she whispered gently understanding his sudden panic, this place was hell if she had ever known it. "We are captive of the Unna there a group of bandits that make profit off everything from slaves to product" she explained her head was again resting on her arm. Her eyes were drawn to the roof of the prison that they now called home, light began to creak in through the pockets for air and light to sun shine through it was morning finally. Kira returned her gaze back to her frightened cell mate, "I will give you name since you do not remember your own how does Gaia sound" she said her voice relaxed as sun beams crept through and laid there light upon her warming her chilled body.

The man looked at kira thinking so many things not knowing what to ask, what to expect he didn't remember anything and so he just started talking. ''Gaia, that sounds good until I can figure out what is going on thank you Kira''. Gaia sat in silence as he thought to himself for a second looking around glancing up at the ceiling at the light not remembering even what the sun looks or feels like anymore. Gaia sighed and then brought his attention back to Kira ''Kira what do these ''Unna'' plan on doing to or with us and why did they pick us?! I don't understand any of this!" Gaia said in a frustrated tone. Gaia glanced over Kira once again her legs were badly hurt and he could tell by her expressions and movements she was weak and required some care. ''Kira how do you know so much about these ''Unna'' Gaia asked not sure how she would reply.

Kira looked up at a Gaia his expressions more calm as he asked her questions, questions she had answered many times she had no real idea at how long it had been since she arrived in this hell hole. Kira looked down to the granite floor her finger tracing circles in its dust and grains of sand that littered its floor.

''Kira what do these ''Unna'' plan on doing to or with us and why did they pick us?! I don't understand any of this!" Gaia had asked his frustration showing though as she watched him. Kira let out a sigh as she returned his gaze "We are there product we are sold of to the highest bidder" she explained as she closed her eyes grasping at the fragments of her memory. "And they want us cause were special were different a weapon to be wielded" she quoted something in her memory had remembering hearing someone say that to her but never a face to go with the words. A thick huff escaped her chest accompanied by a dark chuckle "I am known as the weapon no one can wield" she said as her gaze once again returned to the ceiling as she exhaled as if trying to push off the weight that she held so dear. "I have been many things to many different masters but luckily I remember it all the y can only dose us once" she said almost in a laugh.

Gaia looked at Kira very confused "Product of Unna? different weapons?!''. Gaia muttered to him self "How can that be Kira how can I be I'm me I'm norm.." And right there Gaia stopped him self in mid sentence he didn't even know who he was or let alone what!. For all he knew he could be this ''different kind of weapon'' Gaia knew one thing the only truly way to find out who or what he was, was to stick with Kira. Gaia thought about it hard for a good few moments and looked up at Kira and said'' Kira is there anything about the rooms you can tell me before the guards brought you in here?" He wasnt sure what to expect from Kira's answer but he thought if they could get a little more of an idea of what lied in wait inside this hell it may increase there chances of survival. And at this point teaming up with Kira would be Gaias only chance of survival after all he was in a cage and she was on the outside.

Kira shook her head at Gaia's question she knew nothing of the rooms outside only that of her former Master's. "sorry to disappoint but they knock you out before removing you" she said gently as she basked in the sun light. Suddenly her wounds started to heal them selfs slowly inch by inch bruise by bruise. Kira let out a sigh as her body looked refreshed and just a little dirty from the hard granite floor. As her gaze locked with Gaia's her eye's were no longer a soft brown but of golden yellow hue which slowly began to fade as the seconds faded. Kira took in a another deep breath as she blinked like she was trying to shake something "Amazing isn't it?" she said with a playful smirk. "Well Gaia its almost time for food, so they will most likely take me back to my cell but I will be back I always am ever night" she said in a sad tone. She tried to smile weakly trying to seem pleasant.

Gaia's eyes began to slowly widen when he saw that Kira's wounds began to slowly heal themselves, wounds that seemed could take her life if not properly treated for and they were healing by themselves. Gaia had no idea what was going on he had never seen anything like this or at least didnt have any memory of it."Kira!" Gaia shouted. "How are you doing that!" Kira's eyes suddenly went from brown to a bright yellow. "What was that? it was like like magic" he said in astonishment. Before Gaia's could ask if Kira was all right his attention was quickly drawn to her words, almost time for food?
He thought not remember getting food before and where were they taking Kira? Gaia thought to himself.

Kira watched Gaia's expression unfold from his face as she healed but she didn't have the time to tell him her story not yet. The footsteps echoed across the granite floor once again the guards no longer needing torches to see there way. Crono headed in there direction his always brilliant smile brilliant as ever as he smiled a million dollar smiled that Kira knew could be the smile of the devil. He motioned for her to stand and she followed his orders her body still as she looked down at Gaia. "Try and be patient and wait for mt tonight and stay out of trouble" she said in a hushed tone. Not wanting Crono to hear her words, his footsteps again started as the other guards re-chained her nearer and nearer her crept. Kira stood straight her eyes level with his even though she had to look up at him. The hilt of the whip moved to her chin lifting it up with little pressure as he examined her his eyes said he was amazed. "yo are such a treasure Kira how glad I am to have you with us" he said his voice pleasant like she was staying at an Inn she rolled her eyes as the guards pulled on her chains pulling her back to her cage. Kira looked back her eyes saying goodbye to her new friend who she hoped would still be there when she returned in the night. "Blindfold her again" Crono called as they reached her cell again she say the bleakness of night but not its cold embrace. "I'll let you rest some more my dear I may have to show you off again soon" he said with a wicked smile. Kira moved silently back into the depths of her cell as she waited again for the horrors of night to return.
