The time period is placed in medieval times, where dragons were something to be feared, found and killed. Now nearly all the dragons have been hunted and their skulls hung as trophies over the hearth. Luckily though, the remaining few dragons have learned to disguise themselves as humans, making life a little easier. Unfortunately, their human disguised don't last more than a few hours and will leave the user with a terrible headache or other side effect. The severity of these side-effects depends on the time spent in the human form. Let us join them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Jerrarekoth
Gender: Male
Species: Sand-Fire Dragon
Appearance: Jerarrekoth has a very distinct fiery orange and brown mane that runs from the bridge of his nose to the tip of his tail where it flow nicely into a long tuft of fur. But on Jerarrekoth's neck, about mid-way down is a very painful looking scar where his mane is absent. A bite scar that wraps nearly all the way around his neck appears to be quite a few year old, and yet still a tender spot. Thumbs on the two short forearms accompanied by four other digits tipped in sharp retractable claws. Pads on bottom of the hands and tough scales on the top. The rear legs are strong and long, four toes and the thick semi-dull claws do not retract. Tail is half the full length of him. Dark red-brown scales cover him completely, the color lightens as the scales flow down his legs and arms, while the color darkens up his neck and down his tail. Two large wings jut out from behind his shoulders, short and wide for soaring high. There is a dark red-brown on the top of the wing and a lighter shade of pale pink on the underside of the leather-like wings.
Magic: Can transform into a human for a short time. The longest is 2 hours with side-effects of having to barf after he has changed back into a dragon. It's not at all pleasant, but it's better than dying. He can also form magical yellow orbs that serve little purpose other than dim lights or target practice.
Other: He has a rare ability to use his magic in his human form, but doing this causes his disguise to weaken, cutting the remaining time in half and enhancing the side-effects.
Name: Kiriei (Kee-ree-ay)
Gender: Female
Species: Night Dragon (A race believed to be a merged descendent from the Shadow and Moon dragons.)
Appearance: Image
Human Form: Image
Magic: Kiriei's powers are strongest at night or in the dark, but either way, she cannot use them while in her human form. She has the ability to see in the dark, and to force dreams upon people. When forcing dreams upon people, it can have an effect either like hypnosis, or as a way to put people to sleep. It's also convenient for communicating messages.
Kiriei has a human transformation, but the amount of time she can hold it for varies. If she remains in the shadows or it's night time, she can hold on to it for about four hours. If she remains in sunlight, she has roughly half an hour before she either has to find some shade or transform. After a prolonged transformation, darkness claims Kiriei and she faints. The minimum time for being unconscious is thirty seconds; a sometimes precious amount of time.
Other: Some joke about the Night Dragons that they were originally the Knight Dragons. The clan has a natural talent for weapons, but none of the dedication to practice with them. It's said they changed the title because they were a lazy race and preferred to either sleep or stare at the stars.
Your result for The Fantasy RPG Class Test...
The Witch Hunter
15% Strength, 67% Bloodlust, 10% Intelligence, 37% Spirit, 22% Vitality and 13% Agility!
Savage and deadly, the Witch Hunters use their powerful dark magic to defeat their opponents. Masters of killing and torture, the Witch Hunters will seek out other powerful magic users to slay so that they can capture their souls and summon them in battle. These dark undead magicians will blindly serve them and obey their every command! Witch Hunters have also mastered both light and dark magic, which they can use to confuse and mentally torture their foes. Witch Hunters that have strayed to the side of light may be less proficient with their dark magic; however, they can use their mastery over light to heal and create powerful illusions. In fact, these warriors can use their light in ways that no other spellcaster class can. By combining their light with dark magic, they can trap their foes in worlds of illusion where they can torment and torture their foes. Oftentimes, a few moments within the illusion can seem like an eternity, and once an opponent manages to escape from the illusion they are broken and empty shells of their former selves. Controlling enemies and forcing them to do their bidding is no trouble for Witch Hunters.
Congratulations on reaching this high class!
A tall, lanky human figure hustled through a large marketplace. His fiery short hair hidden by the hood of a cloak. His breathe frozen by the cool winter air. Two cows followed close behind him, tethered by a rope. The figure was tall and his features were thin and delicate. A pouch of gold jingled lightly as he walked. He had one hand pulling the cows and another clutched across his stomach. As he neared the edge of the marketplace he quickened his pace, winding through the old cobblestone streets and alleys. He eventually came to the edge of town and tied the cows to a tree for the time being. He seemed to murmur to himself as he stumbled clumsily into a thick part of the surrounding woods. The figure soon collapsed after walking a few yards. He began to change, his clothes disappearing and his skin beginning to harden and form scales. He grew twice his human size and sprouted wings from his back and claws from his fingers. Within moments a fully grown dragon lay in silent pain on the woodland floor. The trees overhead and tall bushes was all that kept him separate from the village of dragon-hating humans.
It was winter in this part of the world. Oh blessed winter! This season by far had the least sunny days of any other, and the longest periods of darkness. It were the clouds covering the sun and casting shadows upon the ground that were the dark-haired girl's only salvation. She'd been on the streets of the town for an hour or two now, selling charms she'd blessed herself to help people sleep, or have sweet dreams. It was a rather meager way to make a living, but money was often a necessity in this world the humans had overtaken.
When she reached the three-hour mark, Kiriei wasted no time in packing up her things and going on her way. At this time, the most important thing was to find shelter; somewhere she would be safe from prying eyes for however long she slept. She chose the woods outside of town as her haven.
The trees were old and thick, with rough bark and much smaller growth surrounding them on the forest floor. Finding a small clearing, which was thoroughly hidden from the outside world, the blue-eyed girl dropped her pack and collapsed on the snowy earth. As her body changed, she gradually lost consciousness, until there was a majestic dragon of a deep-blue color, sleeping peacefully in the snow.
Her dragon form was nearly three times the size of her human one, and she'd naturally fallen into a curled position to fit comfortably between the trees. Her sleek, well-kept scales kept much of the cold and wet off, though her breath fogged as it left the dragon's nostrils. Her dreams in this state were usually empty, but this time, there was something of an image flashing through her mind. It was far too hazy for her subconscious mind to decipher though.
The red-brown dragon that had collapsed earlier awoke, dragging himself towards a nearby bush to vomit in. His short fiery orange mane faded to brown at the tips and stretched all the way along his spine to the tip of his tail, where it ended in a long tuft of fur. His aquamarine eyes watered with every spasm of his unstable stomach. After he had nothing more to barf up he stood weakly, wavering slightly as he walked through the snow.
Camouflage was not an option in this terrain. Knowing the consequences of getting caught by the humans, the dragon stumbled about quietly, making sure that with every step of his shaking, weak limbs he was hidden. "Cows." He murmured to himself on quick breathes. His vision blurred and he tried to blink it away, but to no avail. He couldn't go on without his sight for he might be seen and that was not a chance he was willing to take. His body pressed up against a thick pine, his head resting against another, his jaw trembling slightly.
Perhaps five minutes later, Kiriei rose, bleary-eyed and groggy. Sleep was always such a wonderful feeling, and she didn't mind the extra she got every time she transformed, but it could sometimes be devastating, like if someone were to stumble upon her while she was vulnerable.
The midnight blue dragon rose and gave a contented yawn. She looked around to see if the situation had changed at all since she fell asleep. At the very least, she saw no immediate danger. That was good. But it wasn't a good idea to stay put so long when in her true form. One could never be sure when a human would come by.
Delicately, Kiriei picked up her pack by the tips of her claws, setting it in a spot between the ridges in her back, so it would stay put. She shook herself a bit, partly to get the snow off, and partly to make sure the bag was secure, then trotted gracefully into the woods. After a moment, her ears perked up as she became aware of a pained breathing sound.
Kiriei hesitated for only a moment before changing her course to see what was going on.
This dragon with the fiery mane, by the name of Jerrarekoth, saw movement in the trees and panicked. He bolted with all his energy, with blurry vision and weak limbs he didn't make it very far. He tripped only a short distance from where he had been before. He landed, hitting the ground hard with his shoulder first and then his head snapped down afterward. He began to gag as if he were going to vomit again, but had nothing left in his stomach, not even stomach acids. He shook in fear and tried to protect his neck where a large jaw shaped scar wrapped around it. The tender spot stung with great pain from the fall and it began to freeze in the snow, for it was the only spot that had been cleared of scales. Jerrarekoth, having considered himself dead by now, began to cry. Humans would not hesitate to kill him and he only hoped it wouldn't hurt to much. But having seen humans up close, they seem to enjoy watching others hurt.
Kiriei came out of the trees hearing stumbling noises followed by a bang. Her teal eyes gazed down at the sight of another dragon cowering in fear. She saw the form and realization struck her. "Fear not my kin," she said in the dragon tongue with what she hoped was a soothing voice. "I am not your enemy. I suspect you've come here for the same reason I have? You ran out of time, yes?" Knowing that the person she'd become aware of was not her enemy, Kiriei felt herself relaxing. Her eyes began to shut and she had to shake herself back awake. It was so easy to fall back asleep after just waking up.
Hearing the familiar words of his own language surprised Jerrarekoth. He uncurled slowly to let his eyes fall upon another dragon. He stared for a long time before even registering that she had spoken. "Oh, er...more like ran out of my home." His voice was fairly rough and deep, but sounded young. "I'll let you know you scared the hell out of me." He added trying to hide the surprise in his voice. The brown-red dragon sighed and cringed as his stomach attempted to jolt again, but he managed to hold it back this time.
Kiriei gave a slight laugh. "I certainly didn't mean to startle you," she said apologetically. "But I suppose, in a world of enemies, one does not expect to meet a friend. The deep blue dragon gave pause for a moment, before her smooth, echo-y, feminine dragon voice went on, "My name is Kiriei," she said, tipping her head in a greeting bow. "I've been traveling among the human towns to sell charms and earn money."
With the humans, their enemies, taking over the world, dragons had come together and most almost automatically trusted each other. Occasionally there was doubt or conflict, but such things were rare, as they would only weaken the already dwindling race.
Jerrarekoth returned the friendly gesture. "My name is Jerrarekoth, but please, call me Jerrar." He averted his eyes to the side. "I am also trying to live among the humans in order to survive. The ignorant beasts invaded my home few years ago and I was forced to leave my family to look for a new home. I haven't met another dragon since I left." Jerrar thought for a moment before adding,"I bought two cows today, maybe we could find a safe place to chat more while we eat?" He offered the female dragon as he stood, not at all unstable as he had been before.
Kiriei turned her attention to her churning stomach and gave a curt nod. "I'll gladly take you up on that offer," After all, who would she be to turn down such a generous offer from a comrade? The female dragon let Jerrar lead the way toward where he thought a safe place to chat might be. She realized rather quickly that they were instead going to retrieve the cows he mentioned earlier. Kiriei waited patiently by the treeline as her new acquaintance retrieved said domesticated animals.
Peering out of the trees, Jerrar was alert. He had used a human trail for escape from the village and tied the cows in plain sight. Though the path was seldom used, there was still a chance to be seen by any passing traveler going into town. Seeing no one with his sharp vision he bravely retrieved the cows, taking the rope in his jaw and leading them slowly back to the thicker forest where he left his new-found friend.
Arriving safely, Jerrar glance back to see a horse in the distance with a human rider. The bright orange mane and red-brown body of the male dragon would stand out greatly. He looked to Kiriei and gestured toward the middle of the forest. "Follow." He spoke through the rope. The cows did not seem to mind the dragons and seemed more interested in any nearby shrubs. Jerrar made his way deeper into the trees.
No one spoke during the little journey and Jerrar continually glanced back to make sure Kiriei was following still. As the trees became denser it was difficult to help the cows over roots that bulged up from the ground. Here the tree cover was so packed that there was little snow on the ground, but that certainly did not mean it was cold. "Almost there." He told Kiriei a few minutes before they came to a semicircle of nine or ten trees all standing directly next to the other. The half-fortress was covered in winter ferns and frost moss.
Kiriei followed her companion dutifully, letting him lead the way to their safe place. She remained silent on the journey, not wanting to attract unwanted attention. Her colors usually helped hide her, but dark blue against white snow doesn't make good camouflage. The less noticeable she could make herself, the better.
Eventually, they arrived at what Kiriei assumed to be their haven. It was a semicircle of nine or ten trees, growing remarkable close to each other. "This is very convenient," the female dragon mused. "Is this a natural formation?" she asked, stepping into where the center of the circle would have been, had it been completed.
"Not sure." He said dropping the rope and letting the cows graze a little. "There is an old folk tale I heard in town last week about a wizard who planted these 100 or 150 years ago. He lived in this forest and actually built an entire circle of trees around his home so that only he was able to find the entrance. But he loved nature and helped the trees grow in harmony and taught them not to battle over water or sunlight, but to share it. It's said that there are many of these unfinished circles in this forest. I came out here to test the tale, and being as it was true, I made this my temporary home." Jerrar informed her. it was darker under these trees and the clouded sky did not contribute much of any light. Jerrar kept an eye on the cows as he patted down the ferns to make a large cushion for the both of them. "Oh, if you are hungry, then don't hesitate to fill your stomach." Jerrar smiled to her kindly.
Kiriei listened to the tale, her eyelids drooping slightly. It was a calm, peaceful story, like a bedtime story. She enjoyed it, but found herself fighting sleep.
When Jerrar next spoke, it did well to bring Kiriei back to the world of the waking. She was hungry, and she wasn't sure how long it had been since she'd last eaten. Kiriei gave a nod of thanks and grabbed one of the cow's ropes, leading it closer to her. Once it was close enough, she grabbed it, letting her claws dig into its flesh to keep it from running away. The female dragon was merciful and quickly bit off the head, letting the animal suffer no further. The other cow didn't seem to notice its fellow's distress. They were truly domesticated animals.
Kiriei savored the sacred taste of food in a hungry stomach.
Your result for The Fantasy RPG Class Test...
The Witch Hunter
15% Strength, 67% Bloodlust, 10% Intelligence, 37% Spirit, 22% Vitality and 13% Agility!
Savage and deadly, the Witch Hunters use their powerful dark magic to defeat their opponents. Masters of killing and torture, the Witch Hunters will seek out other powerful magic users to slay so that they can capture their souls and summon them in battle. These dark undead magicians will blindly serve them and obey their every command! Witch Hunters have also mastered both light and dark magic, which they can use to confuse and mentally torture their foes. Witch Hunters that have strayed to the side of light may be less proficient with their dark magic; however, they can use their mastery over light to heal and create powerful illusions. In fact, these warriors can use their light in ways that no other spellcaster class can. By combining their light with dark magic, they can trap their foes in worlds of illusion where they can torment and torture their foes. Oftentimes, a few moments within the illusion can seem like an eternity, and once an opponent manages to escape from the illusion they are broken and empty shells of their former selves. Controlling enemies and forcing them to do their bidding is no trouble for Witch Hunters.
Congratulations on reaching this high class!
Jerrar continued the story after he had made himself comfortable on the bed of ferns and moss. "Supposedly the wizard was very powerful and other humans wanted that power. That was the reason he grew the trees all around his house in a tight circle. They said that in his younger years he was a war mage and could battle put fend off an entire squadron himself. The humans want on about some war, I was about to leave because my human form was beginning to weaken. But I listened for longer because they mentioned that the reason he went from proud warrior to solitary nature lover was because of a dragon. One day after fighting he stood atop a blood red hill, bodies scattered, moans and cries of pain all around him. He didn't seem to mind, he was ready for anything. He saw a shadow fall upon him and prepared to kill whatever it was, but when he found it was a dragon, he froze. The dragon landed and looked him in the eye. The dragon spoke to the human in the human language and asked him, "Why do you battle your own kin for pleasure?" the mage replied by telling him that it was for a good cause. The dragon replied with, "No reason to kill can be a good reason."" Jerrar changed his voice when he spoke as the dragon. It was a deep, slow, all-knowing sort of voice. "Then, seeing as this dragon was insulting him, the mage prepared to kill it. But as he pulled his staff back to launch a powerful blast, the dragon moved his head to touch with the mage's head. After that the mage was different. No one knows what happened but soon after, the mage hid away in this forest. He was sought after by his comrades (who say that he betrayed them), by the enemy (in hopes that they can use him) and by others who wish to abuse his power." Jerrar paused to stand and retrieve the other cow. He kindly broke it's neck and began his feast with the shoulder. After swallowing he spoke again to Kiriei, whom he could hardly see now because of her dark color and the lack of light which was rapidly fading now as it neared evening. "Who do you suppose the brave dragon might have been?"
Kiriei chewed as quietly as she could so she could hear the story better. It was a rather enchanting tale, one she hadn't heard yet. She gave pause when Jarrar questioned her, swallowing before giving her answer. "I've heard several stories of brave dragons who would confront humans," she said. "But if I had to guess, I'd say the one in that story was Aldreth. Have you ever heard of him?"
When she received only a curious look, Kiriei went on to explain. "Aldreth was one of the six greatest elder dragons: fire, water, earth, air, spirit, and time. Aldreth is the elder dragon of spirit. He was said to be able to communicate thoughts, will, and emotions without needing any words. He was the second wisest of the elder dragons and strove for peace. If anyone could change a human warrior in such a way, I'll bet it was him. But no one's seen any of the elder dragons in centuries."
"I never really believed the elder dragons existed. I mean, I've heard stories when I was younger, but to me they were just stories." Jerar resumed his meal. After a few minutes he finished a mouthful and looked up. Now it had become completely dark and Jerar could see nothing but the white hide of the cow in front of him. Without saying a word he wove his hand in the air and conjured an orb of light. It hovered in place above him and emitted a dim orange light. He looked to Kiriei who seemed to sink into the shadows that danced lightly around them with the slow bob of the orb. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing here?"
Kiriei looked slightly surprised at the question. "As I said, I travel around selling charms and trying to make a living in the human world... But--" she stopped for a moment. Though Jerrar was her ally, she hardly knew him. She wasn't sure she wanted to share her next words with him yet. Still though, if you couldn't trust your allies, who could you trust? "Well," she continued after a moment, "I've been chasing a dream for a while," she confessed. "As I travel, I'm making my way to the northern mountains... It's said, that's where the wind elder lives, but that's the only place recorded where an elder is said to reside. I was hoping, he, or she, would know where I could find the time elder... It's just... there's something I'd like to ask them." Her voice died off there, sort of like how her body naturally died away into the shadows. She went back to eating and soon finished her cow.
