Picking up on the tonal shift, Harry straightened his posture, slightly turning his torso further towards Draco. It was clear that the other ment business, and thought Harry couldn't blame him, it did suck out some of the air in the cabin. "Yeah, of course."
Harry had parted the Manor with a long list of the made up facts revolving fake details of their fake relationship - a list, which he had done his mest to memorize prior to this evening - yet true facts about Draco himself were few and far between. Seeing the importance in disclosing trivial, yet fundamental details, Harry once again leaned into the backrest, needing a moment to think.
His eyes had unintentionally wandered out the windshield, lips parting a moment before actually speaking.
"If you could stand on my right -" he started, voice tentative as he once again turned to look at Draco. The easy smiles had been replaced by a sudden feeling of dread tied in with saying intimate things out loud. Regardless, he continued, softly but almost practical. "It's my left leg that's bad, and sometimes its good to have something to lean against if it starts getting sore."

Draco nodded softly at that, very keen on remembering details like that. If they absolutely had to do this, he knew that it would have to be as convincingly as possible, otherwise it was all very likely to blow up in his face and he absolutely refused to take the fall for something that had been his father's idea.
"Alright, right side it is," he stated, wanting to make sure that he got this right, also just so that he would be able to remember which leg was Harry's bad leg for possible future references. Interviewers always asked the most ridiculous of questions and Draco refused to be caught slipping. It had to be the most convincing act he had ever put on in his life and that was an awful lot of pressure to put on himself and on Harry.
"I'm lactose intolerant," he said, figuring that they were going to take turns in sharing. His lactose intolerance wasn't really that intimate of a detail, but it was definitely something his boyfriend of a year would have to know about him. "Like very badly. I avoid all dairy."

"Oh. Right," Harry said, visibly surprised, though not particularly on Draco's behalf. His pretend boyfriend's lactose intolerance was definitely an important piece of trivia heading into a dinner party, but it had been something else that had made Harry perk up.
"I'm allergic to bee stings," he said, the lightness of his voice making it sound like he had forgotten about that. Though his eyes remained on Draco, Harry's hand moved to his breast pocket, quickly realising it was empty. "I haven't brought an epipen, otherwise you could carry it."
As he once again lowered his hand, it became clear that Harry wasn't worried about his own safety. "I can get you a couple, that might help sell it."

Draco found himself dumbfounded as Harry spoke. Allergy to bee stings wasn't really uncommon, but knowing that you were very allergic to bee stings and not carrying an epipen with you was probably one of the dumbest things that Draco had ever heard. He knew exactly how bad reactions to bee stings could get to those who were allergic, so he couldn't help but feel a little outraged about it.
"You do not have an epipen on you?" He asked, unable to hide his surprise. Even if they were only pretending to be boyfriends, then Draco's care was very genuine. It definitely came with the territory of being a doctor. "Did you just count on your pretend boyfriend to save you? Or are you always this careless?"

Harry grinned at that, clearly not taking the harshness of Draco's words much to heart. There was something boyish about Harry's smile, more embarrassed about being caught than of the wrongdoing itself.
"I don't usually wear it when I'm in these uniforms," Harry admitted, the smile still on his face. There was still a definitive easiness to his being; a stark contrast to the gruesome nature of his anecdote. "Bees haven't been the most immediate threat to my life in a while. I wouldn't even know where to put it."
Once again, Harry's head tipped back against the head rest, the relaxed smile of a man who has earned the right to make fun of death on his lips. The smile, however, once again changed nature, to an almost teasing realisation. "Haven't had anyone to carry it for me either, so yeah, maybe I am gonna start counting on you."

There was something about Harry's smile that almost made Draco a little flustered. The boyishness of the grin made it clear to Draco that Harry wasn't used to people taking care of him and was used to being able to get out of thinking about himself with very little effort. In that moment, Draco decided that he was going to have to take care of Harry however much he was going to be allowed to, even if it meant overstepping what their things was supposed to be.
"Well, I am going to make sure that the most immediate threat in your life is going to be either bees or me beating you up for forgetting your epipen," he stated, not sure if that was too much, but he fully stood by it.

Harry was visibly taken aback by that, any definitive emotion washed away from his expression by a look of gobsmacked surprise. Then he smiled, wide and bright.
"You're really going to beat up a cripple?" he said, feigning appalled. Though he attempted to steady his expression into that of shock, the smile continued tugging at the corners of his mouth.
It felt like it had been years since anybody had talked to him like that; the tone between his friends having softened both after the war and his move to Scotland. Sitting here with a stranger, yet falling so quickly back into the familiar taunts of his boyhood made Harry's head spin.
"Your loving boyfriend?"

"I absolutely would, do not test me," Draco said in a stern voice, but the sternness of the comment was underlined by a soft smile that lingered on his lips. It felt so easy to talk with Harry and to have a light teasing going on. Draco had never even dared to think that it could go this easy between the two of them, but Harry was a kind guy and he seemed like he was just caught in this as well.
"Speaking of you being my loving boyfriend," Draco started, not really sure how to break into this conversation, but he found that they would need to get it over as soon as possible. "Sorry to be so bold, but I do think that we have to kiss before getting there."

This time, Harry's surprise was utterly honest. Flustered into silence by Draco's statement, Harry was just left staring at the other, a blush forming across his cheeks.
"Right - yeah," he just said. After all, Draco wasn't wrong. If they were expected to kiss in public, having the first one out of the way in the privacy of the car wasn't a bad idea. Without even forward, Harry was suddenly painfully aware of the presence of their driver.
Too out of his league, Harry didn't have it in him to initiate anything, let alone a kiss. He just let out another, choked up: "You're right."

It was strange to be this bold about it, but Draco did think that it was necessary if the two of them were going to have to pretend to be in love and having been in a long distance relationship for over a year.
Deciding that there was no point in dragging out the inevitable, especially after the two of them had already decided on what was going to go down; Draco placed his hand on Harry’s cheek, turning his head slightly such that they were facing each other. It probably wasn’t necessary, but Draco took a moment to get a proper look at Harry, trying to get into the headspace of having been his boyfriend over such a long time, before he leant in to softly kiss him on the lips.

Harry didn't think he had ever been so aware of himself during a kiss. Though Draco had been to the point, his touches and kisses were still soft enough to make Harry's head spin. Yet, Harry couldn't get out of his own head.
Awfully aware of the fact that not only was he supposed to convey almost two years of intimacy in a kiss - he also had to face the fact that Draco would be forced to kiss Harry at least somewhat regularly, even if he didn't like it.
Overly cautious of his movements, Harry barely tipped his head into the kiss before he moved to pull away, feeling his cheeks burn bright red the moment his lips left Draco's.

It was almost a relief when Harry broke the kiss. Draco could tell that the intimacy just wasn’t there, which shouldn’t really be a surprise, but it was pretty frustrating. They didn’t have long to get comfortable with one another, so this had to work out for the two of them.
“Relax,” he said in a soft voice, running a thumb over Harry’s cheekbone in an attempt to make him calm down and get used to Draco touching him. It was such an absurd situation and Draco could fully understand why Harry was tentative. “Just... don’t think.”

Harry felt ridiculous; like a teenager all over. The feeling of Draco's thumb brushing against his skin sent needles down Harry's neck, making his lips part out of sheer instinct. Draco was being kinder to him than he could ever have expected, and that alone should serve as some comfort. After all, Draco had higher stakes in having this work out convincingly.
With a little nod of his head, Harry decided to blindly follow Draco's advice of not thinking. His movements were still carefully tentative as he leaned in to yet again meet Draco's lips in a kiss. Despite his best intentions, there was still an unmistakable air of sweet and juvenile timidness about the kiss. Harry's heart felt like it was about to leap out of his chest, yet - almost by its own accord - Harry's right hand found its way to Draco's knee, allowing Harry to steady himself as he leaned further into the kiss.

It was only now Draco realised that this probably was the first time Harry had ever kissed another boy and that definitely helped explain a lot more about the situation. Draco couldn’t really vouch for the differences between kissing boys and girls, seeing as he himself had only ever kissed the former, but he could only imagine that there was some differences.
However, Draco decided to take his own advice and not think. Instead, he just kept his hand on Harry’s cheek as he returned the kiss, careful not to overwhelm Harry, yet still wanting to show him that Draco was in on it too.

The feeling of Draco reciprocating the kiss made Harry's heart skip a beat. He was so far out of his depth that all of his senses felt blurred helping to justify the boldness of his own actions. The kiss felt simultaneously fake and as the only firm grasp he had on reality.
Needing to ground himself, Harry's hand moved from Draco's knee to his shoulder, Harry's fingers curling around around the nape of Draco's neck, thumb resting under the lapel of Draco's jaket.
The seat belt dug into his shoulder as he leaned closer, and the belt of his uniform constricted his breathing, yet Harry still inched closer to the other, deepening the kiss with a confidence that could only stem from a blank mind.

Draco was completely taken aback by the sudden confidence Harry was showing in the kiss. He had never expected this to be a lot more than a brief kiss, but now that Harry kept kissing him Draco didn't see any reason to stop either. He couldn't stop his hand from moving to Harry's hair, wanting to have something he could hold on to to make this entire situation feel more real somehow.
Without even thinking, Draco found himself moving closer towards Harry, his seatbelt causing a natural stop to his movements, even if it didn't stop him from trying to lean closer anyway.

It was hard to say whether it was the feeling of Draco's hand carding through his hair, or the almost distant crinkle of the leather seats underneath Draco as he too shifted, that served to bring Harry back to reality Fact of he matter was, Harry found himself struggling to breath
When Draco had inched closer, Harry's own hand had dipped from the nape of Draco's neck to the curved between the other's shoulder blades. Not knowing how else to catch his breath, Harry yet again leaned out of the kiss. Though his hand withdrew, too, it only shifted around to Draco's upper arm.
When he, once again, came at a distance from the other that allowed him to fully take the other, and their general situation, in, Harry almost asked the driver to turn around. Draco, especially now, looked painfully beautiful and the realisation that he would have to feign interest in the other suddenly became dauntingly easy.
Not knowing what to say, Harry just silently parted his lips.

When Harry moved away, Draco’s hand slid out of his hair to instead land on his shoulder. Not kissing anymore made Draco painfully aware of the fact that that probably had been too intimate for what they were actually supposed to be doing, there was no way they were going to be snogging anywhere in public after all, yet Draco couldn’t find it in himself to move away, nor remove his hand.
It suddenly became painfully obvious to Draco that he may not have to pretend to actually be attracted to Harry, which did not make the situation any easier; in fact, he couldn’t imagine anything that could possibly complicate the situation more. It wasn’t real and Draco knew that it wasn’t real, yet his head was spinning and all he could think about was how he wished that Harry hadn’t moved away. He wanted to say something, anything really, but he came up completely blank, having no idea what he could possibly say to make this situation easier to understand.

For the life of him, Harry couldn't explain what had made him kiss Draco again. He thought he might have seen Draco lean in, but he couldn't be sure - he couldn't even be sure he had been the one to break the distance.
Kissing Draco was exciting in a way that could only be described as immersive; for a moment, Harry could almost have forgotten that this wasn't a normal first date.

Draco honestly had no idea who leaned back into the kiss, but he could honestly say that he didn’t really mind. It already felt far too easy to kiss Harry and he knew how easy it would be for him to get used to it. In fact, he already found the sensation familiar and even somewhat comforting.
Already, there was a certain ease to how they were around each other, even if there probably shouldn’t be. It made Draco’s head spin, either that or the kiss, so much that he was almost relieved when the car stopped and their kiss had to be broken once more.
