This body is a vessel for my mayhem and as long as I can perform bafoonery it doesn’t matter if this stomach is flat or not

The invitation surprised Draco, but the invitation suddenly made more sense when Harry dragged Chad into it. Draco knew that Chad loved having him at his games, but a part of him really wanted to be there for Harry. He quickly repressed that part of him though, seeing as it was in no way helpful to anything.
"I might," he said, and took a sip from his tea again. He should probably just return to his room and watch Netflix, but now that he is actually talking with Harry again, he wants to make the most of it. He enjoys talking with his flatmate, despite how different they actually are.

Harry nodded, relieved by the fact that Draco didn't comment on the stutter with which he had invited him. "It's next Thursday at seven," he continued, as he scraped the vegetables into the pot on the stove. "- but I'm sure Chad's gonna remind you soon enough."
The addition was spoken with a crooked grin as he once again glanced at Draco across his shoulder. The tension between them had subsided considerably, and Harry could not express just quite how grateful he was for that.

Draco only hummed softly at that, because he was fairly certain of that too. Chad always invited him to every single one of his games, and while Draco rarely showed, then Chad always tried. It was pretty admirable actually. Draco would have to hear Pansy if she wanted to go with him, otherwise it would be too painful for him to go. He really wasn't that supportive.
"I'm certain he will," he said with a shrug, as he took another sip of tea. "What're you cooking? It smells nice," Draco commented, mostly to get the talk away from lacrosse and Chad. He honestly didn't know what to do about the lacrosse player, only that he was feeling strangled in the relationship, and that he, most likely, were going to break up, sooner rather than later.

"Um," Harry hesitated, glancing into the pot. He wasn't really working after any particular recipe, and he was almost tempted to say that he had been paying more attention to the conversation than to what he was chopping up. A problem, seeing as he should actually be keeping an in depth food journal.
"I think it's going to be a make shift daal -" he admitted with a crooked grin, as he once again met Draco's eyes. There was a smile on his lips, as he shrugged, rolled his eyes and returned his attention to his groceries. "- but Coach wants me to eat more meat, so it's gonna be a weird daal with turkey situation."

Draco hummed and nodded at that, only all too familiar with the strange dieting their coach kept them on. Chad had attempted to cook for him several times, but seeing as their coach had specific ideas of what they were supposed to eat it was always a strange experience.
"As long as it tastes nice, I guess," he said with a shrug, taking another sip from his tea and realising that he almost has drunk all of it already. He didn't make a move to go back to his room though, and instead just kept watching as Harry cooked. "I am not certain that I appreciate you coach's dietary advice, but if it works."

Harry couldn't help but grin at that, as he unscrewed the cap of the glass jar of lentils he had soaked overnight. "If you think ours is crazy you should see the wrestling team's."
He glanced back at Draco with a smile, as he put a hand on top of the glass, draining the water into the sink. "You're more than welcome to make me a new one," Harry then continued, absentmindedly as he rinsed the lentils once again. "I'm supposed to eat round 4000 calories a day but only the right kind -"
His voice died out as he repeated the draining, putting the lentils aside as he began frying the spices. Once they were toasted, he added the lentils and finally regained the concentration to finish his sentence. "- and apparently I'm not very good at that."

Draco shook his head at that, having never really understood the point of pressuring your body to such extremes. He knew better than to comment on it to an athlete though, seeing as it had been the source of his and Chad's first real fight. Draco still didn't approve of all the dieting and other things Chad put himself through, but he knew better than to start a fight about it by now.
"I just might," Draco promised with a soft smile that only just barely pulled at the corner of his mouth. He finished his tea and decided to wash it immediately, rather than just leave it by the sink for later. "I mean, it's not my major but I know how to make a dietary plan for someone."

Harry turned his head, his eye's following Draco as he moved closer to him. The distance between them - between the stove and the sink - suddenly became minimal. For a campus apartment, the kitchen was uncommonly large, but that didn't change the fact that Draco, for the first time in weeks, was within an arms length of Harry.
This realisation made Harry's breath get stuck in his throat. Looking at the other on this short a distance suddenly felt intimate, and Harry lowered his gaze to the pot in front of him.
"I've started seeing someone," he suddenly blurted out, mostly in an attempt to remind himself of that. "- a guy."

"Oh?" Draco said, not looking up from the cup he was washing. It was nice to hear that Harry was getting out there and experimenting with his sexuality and all. At least that was what Draco tried to convince himself. There was no reason for him to be jealous of some ambiguous guy on campus, just because Harry finally was trying to figure out what it all meant to him. It was a good thing, and he should support him in it.
"That's nice. Someone I know?" He asked even if he wasn't entirely convinced he wanted to know anything about Harry's fling. However they were sorta friends by now, so he felt like he had to at least pretend.

"Um," Harry hesitated with a soft frown, as he opened a glass jar of skinned tomatoes. He poured the content into the pot, glancing at Draco as he did.
"I don't know, maybe -" Harry corrected himself, his tone changing parallel to his answer. He really didn't have a clue who Draco knew around college. "He's on the rowing team?"
Harry's eyes lingered on Draco in search for any reaction. Harry was, however, well aware of the fact that he had offered much clarification by saying just that, and while he tried to decide whether or not he actually wanted to name him, Harry once again looked down at the pot.

Draco grabbed a rag and dried off his cup, pretending that he was trying to visualise the rowing team, even if he had no idea what any of them looked like. He really didn't care about sports, not in any way shape or form, and least of all college sports.
"No idea, I don't really follow the sports around here," he stated with a shrug as he placed the cup back in the cupboard. "In fact, I didn't even know that we had a rowing team."

There was a twitch in the corner of Harry's lips, as he momentarily glanced at Draco. It didn't actually susprise Harry that Draco didn't know, and he had to look again as to not grin.
"Did you know that campus is located by a river? - and also, that we're British?" Harry couldn't help himself; both rowing and lacrosse were staples in English colleges. Once again, Harry couldn't keep his eyes off of Draco, and he looked at the other with a smile on his lips.

The questions made Draco roll his eyes, even if he actually had to stop himself from asking if they really did have a river close by. He didn't really leave the library much, seeing as he was here to get a degree and nothing else. He only ever went to lacrosse games when Chad insisted, and even then it was only when they had had a bad fight and Draco felt the need to apologise. He had no reason to be interested in sports.
"Sorry, I am busy trying to become a doctor, so I'm not really involved with student life."

"Uh huh," was all Harry could muster if he didn't want to accidentally laugh out loud. His eyes lingered on Draco for another few moments, before finally looking away, pulling out another pot from the cabinet beside the oven.
"Sounds lonely," he commented, only half a joke. "Sorry, can I -" he added only seconds later, as he nodded towards the sink.

"Oh yeah, sure," Draco said and moved away from the sink so that Harry could get to it. He didn't even know why he had been hanging around in the kitchen for this long, when all he really wanted was just a cup of tea. At least, he told himself he didn't knew. It was easier to deal with than the fact that he wanted to stay in Harry's company for as long as he possibly could. It was bloody stupid after all.
"I can socialise when I become a doctor."

"Hmmh," Harry once again dismissed the gravity of Draco's answers; Harry, however, glanced at the other with a soft smile to make sure his words weren't interpreted harsher than they were meant. He then turned his eyes towards his measuring cups and the bag of basmati rice, he pulled out of his back pack.
Harry stared pouring measured cups of rice into the boiling water, and by the third, he paused pensively.
"Do you wanna eat dinner with me?" Harry asked absentmindedly, once again glancing at the other.

The offer took Draco aback and it probably took him way too long to respond to the very simple question. He had honestly just been planning on returning to his room and maybe order some take away, however the idea of eating dinner with someone else for once seemed nice.
"If it's not too much of a bother," he said with a shrug, not wanting to intrude on Harry's time on his own. However, he did offer it himself but he might just have done it to be polite.

"Oh, it's none at all," Harry quickly and thoughtlessly dismissed Draco's comment. "It's gonna be a while before it's ready, tough; I just wanted to know if I should boil some extra rice. Do you want turkey?"
Harry chatted away as he continued puttering around with the pots and pans, and once he finally ran out of things to say, he frowned slightly, and picked four cloves of garlic apart and threw it on the pan with the heated oil.
"It's gonna be a while," he softly repeated, finally turning to eye Draco. The direct eye contact suddenly felt excessive and overwhelming, and Harry once again glanced away. "You're welcome to go watch your shows; I'll let you know when it's done."

Draco shrugged at that, not really keen on the idea of returning to his room and being alone now. It already felt strange to be asked to join Harry for dinner, but it would feel even more strange to be told that dinner was ready after watching series in his room.
"I could also help you out? Or just keep you company, if you want it that is," he offered. Their relationship was still a strange one, but Draco was willing to try and put some work in it and see where it would take them. It was probably never going to be truly normal again, but they could at least be good flatmates. "All that netflix isn't good for me anyway."

"Um," Harry exhaled as he turned to eye Draco, slightly surprised by the offer. "If you want, yeah, that'd be lovely," he eventually answered; however, the little pause between his stutter and answer was obviously caused by flustered surprise and not hesitation.
"This just really needs to simmer down," he continued, clearing his throat slightly over the first few syllables. He turned to look at the boiling rice water and simmering daal.
"Do you have any suggestions as to what I can eat for breakfast, though? - " Harry instead asked, not wanting the conversation to end, giving Draco a reason to leave the room. Once again, Harry looked at Draco with a crooked grin. "- I'm really getting sick of oats."
