I always had a what if idea of there being a team of humans that replaced Team ROSE in the game. When I considered it, I imagined it being three teens that knew each other but never had much reason to interact due to their lives not have a real reason to. It would be two guys, making up the speed and power elements of the team, and a girl who fills in the flight element of the team. Getting trapping in Sonic Heroes game, the two guys Initially butt head over who is the team leader as well as how to act around the female team member.
Over the course of the adventure they find themselves in, they learn about each other and eventually become true irreplaceable friends. They encounter Teams SONIC and DARK along the way, assisting and battling each team rerespectively. They encounter tean CHAOTIX, but only in passing as they are chasing after a chaos emerald at the time. Anyone interested, please pm me for more.
