Paranormal investigation (group)

Hello, hello!

Welcome to another Interest Check by Miss Shades!

I'll keep this short, as I haven't really developed this idea in writing yet. If this gathers interest, I'll sit down and detail things better.

A bit of backstory: I have been watching a lot of paranormal investigation shows on Youtube lately (Ghost Hunters, Dead Famous, Dead Files etc), and ended up getting the itch to do something like this. So, for this roleplay, I am planning on a small group - other characters, like relations and clients, will be NPCs, unless something comes up in the future that makes me feel like opening more slots for PCs would be useful.

The pace for this roleplay will be roughly once a week per poster, with people being skipped, but not removed, should they not post within this time frame. Exceptions will be made for prior communication via the OOC thread.

So, the characters I am planning on having are:

A Historian (to make contacts and research the story of the place/house as far back as possible) - Claimed, Sojourn;
A Psychic (to communicate with the spirits in the house and pick up any different feelings) - Taken, Shades - if this happens, will be using this character;
A Priest or Priestess (of which religion is open to the taker, to purify the house and help clients get rid of evil presences) - Claimed, Asterous;
A Doctor (to look after the members in case they happen to get injured and require first aid and also to confirm any physical changes that the supernatural presence may cause, such as changes in temperature) - Claimed, Bottlecap.

I will only start this roleplay once we get all of the participants for the team. If you want to claim one of the positions, or have any questions to ask, please post here!

Does it need to be a religion like what you usually see in shows like that (i.e. Catholic) or could I use some sort of tribal religion?

Any religion that has priests or priestesses, shamans, holy men/women, honestly, as long as it's a person who is able to perform blessings and cleansings, it can be any kind of religion or belief.

@Shades, my buddy and twin, I should really know better then to open your Interest Checks.

My husband is super into paranormal stuff and I watch it with him. I don't believe it all but it's still interesting. I'd love to play the Historian for this.

I'm wondering how intense the supernatural element would be. I would prefer a little more than the bumps and (slight) voices they've got in some of the shows

that being said, i'd like to join reguardless. Claim the doctor character maybe?

It will probably vary from location to location. But I do plan on having the whole nine yards - apparitions, audible voices, stuff moving, the whole deal.
And the Doc is claimed for ya, editing the first post!

If everyone is okay with that, I think we can start with these four characters, as we can have the Historian do all of the contact, and any of the other character be on the skeptic side and need to be convinced that things are actually happening.
