Thanks to my son, who is now done with football for the season and thus has given more free time, I'm inspired once again to try to create a Group RP based on the Titanic's maiden voyage. I tried this last spring in Alpha but it died off and I thought I'd see if there was any interest here. The IC would start with people getting ready to board ship of their dreams.

Rules:

-Beta Standards must be upheld.
-I want to keep this as historically accurate as possible. That means you must observe the time period setting. There were no cell phones, computers, etc in 1912.
-All the characters must be normal humans. No supernatural beings.
-The ship will sink. This will not be an alternative, "what if" story. Your character is free to have a bad omen but nothing will be done to change the Titanic's fate.
-All characters must be original characters. No one will be playing a real life, famous person who was on the real ship. That also means your character can't be related in some way to a real life passenger. At most, your character could be an acquaintance of theirs. Check with me in case your idea is for your character to be a closer acquaintance or servant to a famous person.

-I will use, as NPCs, any real life famous passengers and crew members as needed, to move the plot along. These people include, and not limited to:

Captain Edward Smith: Captain of the Titanic
Thomas Andrews: Shipbuilder and Head Designer of the Titanic
J. Bruce Ismay: Chairman of the White Star Line
John Jacob Astor IV: Wealthiest person on board the ship
Molly Brown: Socialite and activist

-You can create as many characters as you feel you can personally handle. This was a ship in which over 1500 people died and only around 700 survived, so the more you create, the more likely some will die. Especially if you create a male character. Let's keep that realistic, please.

-Your character can be from the following groups:

First Class
Second Class
Third Class
Crew member

All I ask that we get some diversity and not everyone be from the same class. Do keep in mind, that whatever class you take, will determine how much access your character would have to parts of the ship. Also, if you choose to be a First Class passenger, his or her wealth cannot be greater than what John Jacob Astor's wealth was. He will remain the richest person on the ship.

-Posting pace will be about once a week. With each person having one turn a cycle. No one will be asked to leave, but can be skipped after about a two week grace period to keep the story moving.
