An Important Letter | +
From the Office of Ganuel David Cartsman
Area 589
June 13, 2091

To Whom It May Concern:

We are sure that you are aware of the recent deteriorating state of our Planet. As a result of these recent events, the multi-government program IPIASS (International Program for Intellectually and Artistically Superior Students) has called upon fifteen individuals to help aid in studies in hopes of restoring the Earth to its previous state. The chosen are gifted in multiple areas, be it art, literature, mathematics, music, spiritual understanding, empathy, or any other subject.

After thorough evaluation of all eligible healthy youth in the remaining Areas, you have been selected as one of these select few. This program is optional, though it is highly suggested that you accept, as the rewards are great, and life after refusal will only become much worse.

Participation in this program ensures protection for your family, yourself, and security as the studies continue. You will have access to government food, health, financial, and research supplies.

A team will arrive to escort you to your new facility in a week. Any questions you may have will be answered once you arrive.

We eagerly await your acceptance

Govt. Employee 13
On Behalf of Prof. Cartsman

May our lives bless the brave and noble Dux, that all his future endeavors may be successful and bountiful. May we not squirm under his strong force, as it is only a shield. May he live forever, and may our existence further his glory. Haec est fides nostra.

The year is 2091. After an increase in the rate of decline, the Earth has finally fallen to pollution and overuse of nonrenewable resources. It started ten years ago, when the majority of the world's superpowers broke into war over what little fossil fuels and supplies were left. As the battles continued, they fed into smaller countries, killing off most of the populations in nations not involved in the war, as well as major fatalities in those fighting.

The conflict eventually led to nuclear crisis, resulting in widespread death and destruction, and eventually causing worldwide poverty and depression. The war ended as the countries no longer had enough of a population, nor economy, to carry on the war.

At this point, sickness had taken advantage of divided attention and plagues began to become common occurrences. Many more died as a result. Even when cures were found, the natural resources needed to create and distribute them became unavailable, resulting in storehouses of vaccines reserved for government officials.

Riots broke out, and eventually the majority of world governments were torn down, replaced with total anarchy led by citizens who wanted nothing more than access to the government storehouses. The world fell into total chaos.

Years later, a man by the name of Gregory Chancel took charge in his small town, gaining the support of citizens across the world. He called for all remaining civilizations to join together in hopes of sharing their resources and restoring the Planet. The people did so, eventually gathering their small population into one new country by the name of Pheonic. Gregory named himself Dux, a title equivalent to supreme ruler, backed out on the majority of his promises, and ruled in secrecy. Any attempts at riot were violently quelled under his iron staff, by use of military personnel. His officials were put to work to create more weapons and advanced technology. More diseases were placed into society, though this time by someone's own hand, in hopes of killing off potential rebels.

Each child, at the age of four, was sent away from their parents to attend one of the many government schools. Students were evaluated in many skill areas, observed, and, at age twenty-one, or earlier for very exceptional students, were assigned a work post. They never saw their families. Work conditions were harsh, and workplace deaths were common.

Now, a program by the name of IPIASS, which was a newly emerging program before the start of the war, has revived itself in hopes of restoring the Earth. It disguises itself under the pretense of a government initiated program, though it is really a training ground where 15 or less members of the youth community will train and be transformed into super-soldiers, in order to destroy the totalitarian rule.

This will be achieved by enhancing each student's personal talent through a new method of biochemistry studied by Dr. Ganuel Cartsman. Stimulation of brain activity in already-highly-active areas of the brain is made possible through needle injection of a specific serum. Through this process, many hope that the Earth will be restored to its previous state of peace.

RULES:
  • I would LOVE suggestions on how to make this plot better or more realistic, and maybe even some ideas on the type of technology or things like that. However, seeing how I'm the GM here, I do ask that you respect that I would be the final say in some things.
  • No super OP characters. Please.
  • Relatively long posts, if you can. I expect more than four or five lines.
  • I know some people don't very much enjoy using pictures as well as a description when writing about something (say, an outfit), but if you have picture reference of something you're describing, please share! It makes some things much more easy to visualize.

It was practice, and yes, some of us fell. But I want to tell them that all of this is just debris left over when we finally decide to smash all the things we thought we used to be, and if you can't see anything beautiful about yourself, get a better mirror, look a little closer, stare a little longer, because there's something inside you that made you keep trying despite everyone who told you to quit. This seems pretty cool. Right up my alley actually. It has a similar dystopian feel to some of the stuff I write, as well as some similar elements to my own RP Division 46. I'd be down.

Sounds great! I'd love to have some people actually join instead of this just being an idea floating around my head =D Really, though, I'd love to have you on board for this. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Thank you! She really is an amazing role model, and I'm all about using life as one big opportunity. While other people wonder about the meaning of life, I just figure that if anyone ever does figure it out, it really won't be worth it, because they've spent their whole lives trying to answer one question and neglected the entire possibilities of life itself. But I doubt you want me to get into one of my Psychological rants, so I'll just leave it at that.

I'd say yeah, though you might want to do something slightly more broad.
