OOC: Ripples in Time

I have an idea to start an RP that starts in some innocent, slice of life/realism setting and then goes off into something very different altogether. There will be no need for a Character Sheet, but I would like you to describe and develop your character within the RP. As you develop in character, begin writing the CS based on what you are writing, not necessarily on what you wanted to write in the first place; if that makes sense.

Essentially, I will start the RP by describing a setting, my character and some activity. The next person describes their character, their perceptions on the setting and their reaction to the activity. The rest follow suit. I would like to aim for three or more people making it a 4-5 person RP.

We may start in a realistic Modern setting somewhere in the USA; a grocery store, a bank, a department store; or a 12th century European Castle; or some fantastic realm involving unknown creatures. But we all begin as humans on the planet earth and go to wherever our imaginations. You just need to carry the story forward from wherever the poster before you left it. That means, you just can't drop some random unrelated event that has nothing to do with what the others wrote before you.

One more thing, we all start in this same place, wherever it is and we all know one another. We all have a vested interest in making sure we all survive. Maybe we all work at the same place or were classmates in HS. Let your imagination run free and make it up as you go. Who's with me? I want to limit it to four + me if that is possible.

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes. "

Color me interested, I love free flowing settings and starting with a common, mundane reality its a great idea. How much of our connections should r work out ahead of time? Or should were start writing and let inspiration move us? Should were agree upon how light/dark we're starting our characters as? I totally accept that we know each other and care what happens to everyone, but what if I decided I am playing the bully from high school or a shop lifter in the department store?

Don't know why, but my vote is cast for the bank setting.

Damn, Old Man.

I like the idea. I have no suggestions for the setting, though. '-'

That is exactly where I was heading! =)
Light or Dark is up to you.
Modern Fantasy, magical abilities? I'm not going to say, no. It is an open ended free flowing thing.
If you want to be the bully in HS, go for it. If you want to be the reigning Chess Champion nerd, go for it.
Prostitute or whatever your heart desires. I'm already thinking of my character. I don't want to say what I am doing so as to influence anyone (yet).

((Casts as admiring glance at Shadow Lady's

Yah that's what he's looking at...))

Ok, Gunther, I'm definitely in. I've so many ideas, my perennial problem. This will be fun. We need a couple more people before were can set a posting order, no?

And so far we're saying we'll be starting in some sort of bank, no?

((Why did Sperm Bank pop into my mind?))

I would like to join this. I think this sounds like it could go places. I think that each of us should personally chose light/dark, magic/realistic etc. and see what kind of weirdness happens.

Donatien, Shadow Lady and Jack; are you all willing to start this with just us four? If so, I'll set up the OOC. We may even recruit another in the OOC.

Works for me. No idea what my character will be like yet, but I'll come up with something.
