"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes. "

This goes as a general writing tip I found pretty useful: click here.

NaNo is almost done, but nothing stops us from keeping writing, so prepare to see a few tips pop up here every now and then. I might change the title for this once the month's over, but I'll definitely keep this alive and I encourage everyone to do so as well.

I validated the novel today at 52,432 words. This is the video on the validation page....

I also ordered a T-shirt.

...but I'm not done! I've got so much more to do. It is filled with inconsistencies and I never organized it by chapters. I've been updating the Chapters all week. I'm about halfway done and assigned Chapter XV. It needs a lot of TLC before it i ready. I figure I have at least the month of December, right? Or is there more to this novel writing thing?

Man, I really cut it close. My story is completely done, and I just make it over 50k by 159 words! Whoot!

However I did just write basic dialogue, action and emotions throughout most of my novel. So I'm sure once I flesh it out it'll be a nicer length, closer to what a novel should be. Plus I want to add a few more elements to the next draft.

Going to take a break though, lol. I'll start revising near the end of decemeber, but no later than the beginning of January.

So where is everyone at with their novels? Those who didn't finish, how far are you now? Those who did, how's the second draft going?

I let it simmer while the holidays passed, so I'm just starting up the second draft now. Reworking some of my characters, Reworking the outline, and rewrote a chapter that really bugged me.

Oh didn't congratulate you fain. Congrats!

I ended up dropping that concept, as things didn't work out as far as having time and peace to write went. I'll pick up something else, eventually

I got distracted by another project I felt the sudden need to write for. Interestingly, it was a failed NaNo project from years ago. I still plan to go back to the other project at some point though. I'm going to make it a goal to finish what I start.

I seriously failed at this whole thing. I never got past like 2k words or something. But maybe over this year I can maybe get something going better. Congrats to all of you whom managed to get to the 50k mark though, and even get stuff finished ^_^

@Shades, haha! Maybe one day... no pressure huh. xD I think I need to start finishing what I start first. You know like, the novel I've been working on for just over 6 years now, and doesn't have one solid concrete chapter it's all just an glorified plot outline xD and of course the one I started for NaNO lol xD
