[WIP]
Name: Aeris Leneer Age: 24 Rank: Sith Lord Species: Human Abilities: Aeris has always been extraordinarily strong in the Force, even at a young age. Of particular note is her strength in the use of Force Empathy and Telekinesis. She is also an exceptionally skilled duelist, although this is second to her strength in the Force.
She has an innate ability to use Force Empathy, which allows her to read the emotions of those around her, as well as allowing her to perceive motivations, hidden feelings, and even deeply guarded secrets. This ability also allows her to perceive things around her with great detail and clarity. She is even capable of using this ability on a planetary scale by enhancing her senses. This ability makes her exceptionally perceptive to the things around her, even allowing her to sense things that others would not or locate people, even those who may be cloaked or whose presence may be hidden, provided that her ability to sense them is stronger than their ability to hide themselves from her, or provided they are within a close enough proximity to her.
She is an exceptional duelist and is capable of dual-wielding lightsabers. She has two white lightsabers but she does not always dual-wield. She changes her fighting style, including her use of single or dual sabers, depending on the situation and her opponent.
Beyond her Force abilities, she has a near perfect memory and rarely forgets anything. Particularly things she has seen, or those memories tied to emotions.
Appearance: Aeris is tall for a woman, standing about 5'10". She has a small, lithe frame but is toned. Not overly muscular, but in shape. She has long almost blood red hair and piercing green eyes framed by a beautiful face.
Personality: Aeris is a complicated individual. She is guarded and trust does not come easily to her, which is something that has served her well in her time as a Sith. When someone does manage to gain her trust, respect, and loyalty, however, she is as loyal and protective a friend as one can find. She would do anything for those she truly cares for, even if such individuals were hard to come by nowadays.
She has a fiery temper at times and can hold a grudge. Yet she is calm and collected most of the time, something she learn during her time as a Jedi Padawan. Her anger usually takes the form of cold, calculated actions rather than random bursts of heated anger. There are times, however, where she lets her emotions get the better of her and unleashes her rage. This was quite rare before she joined the Sith, but a little more common now, even if it isn't her most likely reaction. If someone pushes the right buttons, her temper is unmatched.
She is a very intelligent and ambitious woman. She strives to be the best in anything she does, without compromising her core beliefs. She also seeks knowledge, more for its own sake than for power, although if anyone asks she would never admit this. She is very logical and calculating, preferring to step back and look at things logically and rationally when possible and then act, rather than reacting emotionally without thinking, as many of her peers tend to do.
Despite what one might think, given that she serves the dark side of the Force and is a Sith Lord, she is not, at her core, an evil person. Angry and troubled, perhaps, but not evil. Truth be told, she has always preferred a more balanced approach. She doesn't believe that the world is quite so black and white that it can be neatly divided into light and dark. But, given that it was rare for anyone to truly remain grey, including her old master, she serves the dark side for the freedom it gives, as well as the strength and power it offers, although the latter were never what was most important to her.
Despite using the dark side of the Force, she does not like to resort to violence as her first option, preferring a diplomatic approach when possible. She will not hesitate to use violence if necessary, but she doesn't like unnecessary cruelty or brutality, nor is she in any way sadistic. In truth, at her core, her morals and beliefs still align more with the light, even if the dark side offers her the freedom and strength she desires, and power that is, admittedly, rather tempting.
No one really and truly understands her or her motivations. Most people just guess. If she is honest, she may not even understand her own motivation all of the time. But that is, perhaps, due more to her unwillingness to accept certain parts of herself rather than her truly not understanding. By the same token, she also doesn't really know where she belongs. She's on the fast track to becoming a successful Sith, and yet she still doesn't feel as though she belongs, that she fits in. She plays the part well enough, but deep inside she knows that it doesn't feel right. And yet she also didn't feel as though she belonged with the Jedi, either. In her mind, the Jedi, while well-meaning, were too strict, too controlling. On the other hand, the Sith were often too quick to violence, cruelty, and brutality. Even those who hadn't been Sith long often gave themselves over to the dark side so completely and followed some of the more cruel Sith teachings so zealously that they had become sadistic, impulsive, violent. It was quite the conundrum, trying to find where she belonged, the grey in a world set on the idea that there was only light and dark, no in between.
There was a time when she felt less out of place, more at home, when she was with the Jedi. But that wasn't so much because of the Jedi as much as it was a certain person. But even that was long gone now.
History: Aeris had a troubled childhood. Her father was a failed Jedi who tried to drown his failure in alcohol. His mother wasn't a force user and wasn't very strong in any way. She let him walk all over her and did nothing when he beat her, or their child. Aeris, on the other hand, was strong in the Force from a young age. She had no training, so she couldn't really control her powers, which meant that she still couldn't really help. She could protect herself to some extent, but she could do little for her mother.
One day her father took it too far and ended up killing her mother and then coming after her. She reacted to his attack, lashing out with the Force and unintentionally fatally wounding him. After that she ran to the town nearby where she was treated for her injuries. Once her parents were found it was determined that she would be placed in an orphanage, but a Jedi who was in the town requested that he be allowed to take her to the Jedi temple instead. She was taken to the temple where she began her training as a Jedi.
She did well in her training, excelling even from the beginning. She struggled somewhat with some of the principles, such as their views on emotions. Emotions were a large part of who she was, they were something she dealt with daily, not only from within, but from those around her. This made it exceptionally hard for her to distance herself from emotions. Although, this same ability allowed her to connect on a much more personal level with those around her.
She had mixed feelings towards the idea of not forming attachments. On one hand, she longed for the love and affection she hadn't gotten from her parents, yet on the other hand she feared attachment because of the potential pain that may follow. Despite her mixed feelings, she did her best to follow the principles.
She also struggled with the idea of light and dark, believing that balance was ideal and the world wasn't so black and white as most believed. Regardless, she chose to remain in the light and do her best as a Jedi. She never really felt like she belonged because of these things, but she did make many friends, one in particular, who made her feel more at home than she otherwise would have. Her strength in Force Empathy made it easier for her to connect with those around her, made her more understanding of their feelings, and allowed her the ability to know who she could and should trust. Because she was able to connect so well with others, she was well-liked and had many friends.
Despite her previous decision to follow the principles of the Jedi regarding attachment, she grew closer to one person in particular, her closest friend, Dren, even eventually falling for him. She thought he felt the same way, but any real relationship was forbidden by the Jedi. It wasn't long after this that her Master decided to leave the Jedi in favor of a group of grey Jedi who believed in balance. He knew that Aeris had always favored a more balanced way of thinking so he extended an offer for her to join him when he left and after a little consideration, she decided to join him.
She approached Dren and told him that she was leaving and asked him to come with her. He refused, as somewhere inside she'd known he would, and they ended up getting into a fight about all of it. In the end she still left and he stayed. Leaving the Jedi hadn't be as hard as she'd thought it would be, but leaving her friends--leaving him had been hard. It was even harder because somehow, for whatever reason, she'd thought, or at least hoped that he would try to stop her, or fight harder to get her to stay, or even come after her. But he didn't. She didn't hate him for it, but she hated that he hadn't tried.
She and her master joined the grey Jedi as they had planned, but they weren't there for long before the group discovered an old Sith holocron. For a time they tried to balance the teachings of the holocron with the teachings of the Jedi, hoping that somewhere between the two teachings they could find a balance. But it wasn't that simple, it wasn't that easy to balance light and dark, and the dark side was strong on the world they'd chosen to inhabit. One by one they each fell to the dark side. In the end, even Aeris and her master joined them in forming a new Sith order. Most were tempted by the power and the strength it offered. Aeris, more than anything, just wanted freedom. Freedom to express herself, to do as she pleased. But she would be lying if she said that the power, or at least the strength weren't at least tempting. She wanted to be strong, so that no one could push her around as her father had done to her mother.
The group eventually created a new Sith academy within the temple they occupied. This was done in secret, as was their recruiting, but the group steadily grew, recruiting force users from across the galaxy to join them in their quest for power in the dark side. They established a hierarchy similar to that of the Sith Empire of old, establishing ranks such as acolytes, apprentices, Lords, and Darths. There was even talk of forming a Dark Council, or something similar, once their ranks grew large enough to require such a thing. For now they worked with what they had, slowly building their power and seeking new knowledge and power around the galaxy. Aeris had made it to the rank of Lord and was on track to become a Darth in the not too distant future, if she kept it up. She still didn't quite feel like she belonged, but she did her best and worked hard to succeed where she was until the day when she did find her place in the galaxy.
For Reference: Other characters
Cain Asto: A 30 year old, tall, muscular human male with a light complexion, blonde hair and a beard. The darkening of the skinof his face and his pale red eyes tell of his devotion to the dark side. The strongest duelist of the group. He is strong in the use of the dark side of the Force, but far from the strongest in the group.
Jax Eros: A 26 year old, dark-haired human male with cybernetic implants and yellow eyes. Jax is well-built and a strong duelist, but his strength in the Force is greater than his dueling abilities. He is one of the more moderate Sith, probably due to his Jedi training. He prefers intelligent conversation to a fight, but will not hesitate to strike down an enemy if it becomes necessary. Of the group, he is the most reasonable and calm, next to Aeris.
Saila Kilvaari: A young, short blue twi'lek female. The blue skin of her face is slightly darkened because of her use of the dark side and her once brown eyes are now a yellow, almost gold color. She is a skilled duelist with strength in the Force. Her greatest strength lies in her dueling and her Force sight. She appears relatively calm on the outside, tending to hide her emotions better than most Sith, but inside she is the most restless of all. She is intelligent and, unlike some of the others in the group, prefers at least a little planning before jumping into a battle head first.
Rixar Thane: A tall, medium built Miraluka who wore a dark cloth over his face where his eyes should have been. The skin on his face is darkened slightly. He is the oldest of the group. His strength in Force Sight is the strongest of the group and his perception is second only to Aeris. He tends to be more calm than most of the group, but he is cold and calculating, ruthless, even. He cares little for most others, save a select few who have gained his respect.
Titus Reyal: An average-height, white-skinned Rattataki male with dark tattoos across his face and his bald head. His face is darkened to a blue-ish color and his eyes are a deep red. He is strong in the Force and a skilled duelist. He is ruthless, aggressive, and holds back no emotions. He loves nothing more than a good fight. He borders on cruel and sadistic and tends to jump into a fight without hesitation or planning.
