Long ago in a kingdom long forgotten, A huge war broke out between the five Nations.
To combat this threat, the wise King of Brokwyrd gave instructions for five magic imbued swords to be crafted, one for each Nation in hopes that the nations would keep from battling each other in favor of these gifts. These Knights were dubbed the "Knights of Five"

And for a while, his plan worked, and the Nations were at peace.

but soon the Nation of Kravenfriht Suddenly turned it's back on the treaty, and attacked the others, with several ambushes that were strategically placed enough to cause Kravenfriht's King to rule with an Iron Fist. The people cried out under the King's rule for the other four knights, whereas all but one had been slain, and this knight was no match for a full nation of men who serve their King with the utmost respect.

Eventually he too was captured and locked away, then hanged in full view of the Nation of Kravenfriht's court, as a testament to the King's ultimate power.

Oddly enough, none of the knights who were slain seemed to have a sword on them...


strange....


Here’s the Setup:


The Nations are as follows:

Kravenfriht- The Central Nation of Trade. without the King's say, nothing gets through, which means without servitude, your nation will suffer.

Fravkoan- the Western Nation of gold mining. Many thieves reside here due to the amount of gold found coming and going.

Harocrint- The Eastern Nation of Farmland. Miles and Miles of grain and vegetables. and admittedly not the best populace for swordsmanship

Brokwyrd- The Southern Nation of Smithing. the best weapons are always found here, most of them magic imbued, but none so powerful as the Blade of the Knight of Five whom resided there.

Drevmort- the Northern Nation of livestock. People need meat. 'nuff said

RACES:


Terrans: The standard human populace.
Elves: Separated into two vastly different factions, Light Elves and Dark elves.
Light elves are noble, and practice healing magic. Their skin is pale, and they are a diplomatic people. In contrast, Dark Elves are dark-skinned, practice the Dark arts and are destructive and stealthy and usually bandits or Rogues
Orcs: While not a playable race, these creatures are known to be quite violent and brutish.
Fairies: These beings are wise and can live for millennium, some are rumored to be immortal. They can travel by air and land, most of them are afraid of water.
Dragons: These small creatures are loyal and will usually obey their owners. Depending on their outward appearance and lineage, they breath different elements.
Goblins: A menace to the Terrans, these creatures are usually traveling in groups and are another unplayable race.
Dwarves: Miners by profession, these bearded midgets hate being stereotyped more than they love getting drunk. Which is a lot.
Halflings: These are a shunned people that are usually part Dark Elf and part Light Elf, however Dwarf halflings Fairie, and Terran halflings are not unheard of.

THE SWORDS

Each sword has three special properties imbued within the blade, and has also been given a conscience that aids it's wielder. I will list the five swords and, seeming as this is an RP and I don't want to limit creativity, I will leave certain abilities up to the RPers and their preferences.

Sword 1:
Sword of Multiple minds:

This sword can do the following:
Ability 1: Split the wielder into ten copies of himself.
Ability 2: Experience gained from each copy is accumulated as they re-join the host.
Ability 3: Unknown at present.
The sword's conscience is in the form of a beautiful maiden, whom can materialize at will as long as the sword's abilities are active. She is mysterious and seems to know more than she lets on.

Sword 2:
Sword of Time's Defiance:

This sword can do the following:
Ability 1: Can create a personal “Timeline” that can be altered in speed and be used to make the wielder so fast they appear to stop time for them while everyone else sees them moving at Hyperspeed.
Ability 2: Renders sword and wielder invisible
Ability 3: Can freeze time for up to two minutes
A giant panther that has astral origins.

Sword 3:
Sword of Elements

Ability 1: Wielder can shoot elements such as fire, ice, water, and lightning WITHOUT Runes
Ability 2: Wind conjuring and control
Ability 3: Healing abilities. As long as someone isn't dead they are able to be healed given enough time.
This sword's consciousness manifests as a raven with the ability to allow the wielder to see from a literal bird's eye view

Sword of Mastery

Ability 1: Can morph it's appearance and function to any medieval weapon
Ability 2: Can disguise itself to look like any other sword in existence
Ability 3: Improves the physical abilities of the wielder
A wise old man that advises almost as if everything is a premonition.

NOTE:No one has a sword at the beginning of the RP. these are just placeholders for who finds which sword during the adventure. the point is that the king's army is trying to find the swords and has failed so far, and our groups of characters somehow come across them.

I'd like a sword of the Elements please. Though If any other has a better use of it - I can work with any other of the swords.
If i get the element sword I'd pick some healing abilities, and levitation - wind magic for 2nd and 3rd :P and it will be an elf . .. maybe even an elven group? I'll leave that open.

Oh, well lets see.. healing and wind ... manifestation.. if i can have a normal pet like an animal pet I'll give up on sword pet, and lets make the manifestation something natural..
hah! how about a Bow? *grin* .. well *cough* if thats too much, since one of the other swords has the transformation ability..

*thinks * *ponders*

okay I'll say three two and you choose what you prefer *grin* might as well roll on it..
1. Bow (talks and can fight instead of sword --> might stay as bow in the end? who knows)
2. Raven (cause of air and wind control you know)
3. A plant a talking and walking plant! (Aloe vera or a cacti, can hide itself in greenery, pretty useful for concealing)

I thought the Raven idea was the best one even though you crossed it out.

That said, the plant would be fine, but the bow is a bit much.

May I have the sword of Defiance of Time?

Abilities requested: Invisibility of the sword and it's wielder. Ability to freeze time for two minutes or less.

Also, for pet, can I have a giant panther like the one D'rizzt D'uorden had? (A dark elf's totem that transforms into a panther from the Astral Realm.)

Name: Astral Chase
Age: 20
Race: 1/2 Terran 1/4Light Elf mix 1/4 Faerie
Appearance:
She looks mostly human, with black hair and obsidian eyes - and she has a slightly different form of ears, though it is only seen by a keen observer. While she is a tad taller than average females ( 1,73m) she is not of elven height.

Likes:
- training her abilities, money, helping people, travelling, nature, wilderness, her friends
Dislikes:
- noisy and nosy people, money borrowers, persecuting halflings, being dragged into danger, rivalry, being 'used' by others without compensation (due to her healing or gold locating abilities)

Location: Fravkoan - western nation of gold mining.

Astral Chase is currently mingling with the thieves of Fravkoan, masking herself as a wandering medicine girl.
She is highly appreciated due to her abilities, as well as her luck in finding treasures and gold, and while she has yet to show any kind of prowess with fighting, she is open with her use of runic magic - it may be weak, but its very useful.

Abilities:
- luck & instinct (in a way 6th sense)
- a bit runic magical power (Wind, Wood/Plant magic)
- well-trained with the sword
- knows treatment methods of injuries
- knows how to surivive in the wilderness

Not unlocked yet:
Abilities with Gale:
- can control all elements without Runes ( Wind and Wood being most powerful )
- powerful healing abilities
- capable of flight & controlling wind to maximize her speed and dodging abilities
- can use Gales magic to 'track' gold veins (Metal element)


Addition:
Gales special ability: Storing Astrals valuables inside his stomach (it has a large space inside!).

Personality:

Astral Chase is an amiable person, usually, and she has two strong driving factors, that may be due to her heritage or upbringing. While she believes that helping people is a good deed, she will only do so with sufficient compensation. While the term 'sufficient' is quite flexible, one of her favourite phrases would be "You can't make something out of nothing."
Astrals second driving factor is her personal training. She enjoys getting stronger in both magic as well as fighting, and while she usually trains alone in secret, trusted aides/friends will be serving as punching bags now and then, beware!

History:
While Astral is a daughter of two halflings, her father was a half-elf while her mother was half-fae, she posesses more human than other traits. She explains her wind magic abilities with Fairie heritage and her healing abilities with Elven heritage, though, she has only a fraction of those very same abilities due to the weak magical lineage of a "quarter"

As a small child she experienced the persecution of halflings - when her parents were killed in a purge. Ironically, she herself was never persecuted because of her roots, and while usually elves and fairies would ignore her heritage, only some strange(?) individuals might be interested in her low abilities. However, she can put up a decent swordfight, and her friends may or may not appreciate that.

The only 'useful' abilities, as she would secretly emphasize, is her fairie luck finding treasures and elven affinity with nature and animals - which led her into meeting, helping and bonding with Gale, the snow Owl. Wandering around, the child found an injured white Owl, which she treated. Later Gale, as he introduced himself in her mind, helped her bear the loneliness of her parents death, before she met her friends/ teammates.


Not unlocked yet:
While Gale has a lot of power to give, "The Sword of Elements" abilities do grow and depend on the wielders fighting and magical capabilities. So, under Gales' advice and tutelage, the girl trained and practised her abilities from an early age.
While possessing only average talents in the major elements of Fire, Earth, Water, Metal*, the girl quickly developed her talents in Wind and the minor Wood** element.


Travelling through the wilderness she met a few friends along the way, before settling down in Fravkoan, because Gale was not fond of the Kings doings.



For the others from the team: You may be a bandit/gold scavenger of Fravkoan or any kind of elf/fae/ other being, that travelled with my character. It may be a childhood friend she met after becoming an orphan or somebody she met later along in her travels.
If you have a special idea drop me a line what you want to do.




EDIT: Gale being a Sword of Elements is only OOC knowledge. Please keep it as such. Due to a misunderstanding I already added him, so he will remain a 'magical pet' and Astrals abilities with him are closed.

*Analog to Chinese believing (but not quite the same):
Fire, Earth, Water, Wind and Metal(other name: Gold) are the five major Elements, while minor Elements like Ice , Lightning are a sub- element under the other five.
Example : Ice is sub element of water+wind, Lightning is sub Element of Metal+ Wind.
The difference between major and minor elements is that major elements boost your overall magical power as well as abilities, while minor elements are more specialization towards a special ability.
**Wood is sub Element of Earth+ Water .
For example while Earth is an element that can have nourishment, growth as well as attack and very high defense abilities, Wood focusses on growth and has a regeneration focus.

@FawnChaser That's fine as long as there is something like a cooldown on how long it can be giant, because it isn't a pet. it is a sword spirit that guides the wielder on their journey.

Appearance: Dark brown hair that is always spiked up, greenish blue eyes that change color slightly based on his mood. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and skinny but rather muscular.

Birth Nation: Brokwyrd

Sword appearance: (Sword of Mastery) The hilt is dark colored, the blade is black and appears to be liquid. There are gold accents on the hilt to contrast how dark the rest of the sword is.

Sword's Consciousness and abilities: The sword's consciousness is that of a wise old man who advises the owner of the sword. The sword's other abilities are the ability to change color and improve the physical abilities of the owner.

Backstory/History: Scamandius was born to Dark Elf parents who taught him much of what he knows. Unfortunately, they both died at the hands of a band of Orcs. At first, Scamandius made a living selling things that he stole from people on the streets. As he grew older, he left petty thievery behind and moved on to fulfilling contracts for other people which included murder and thievery. After making sizable amounts of coin from contracts, he moved into his own house and started a business giving and fulfilling contracts. Since his parents' deaths, he has been searching for the band of Orcs whilst taking on contracts.

The left half of the hilt and guard is pure gold. The right half in stark contrast, is an obsidian black. the blade itself is a different hue of silver every time it is drawn from it's owner's sheath, sometimes even appearing rusted over. however even when it looks rusted, it can withstand an enormous amount of pressure
Sword's Consciousness and abilities:

Backstory/History: Being a livestock farmhand all his life, Shane is not a very good fighter. His father has always said he could be "so much more if he just tried!" but Shane is content with just being average. It isn't that he is weak or non dedicated. It is simply that he doesn't see the need to improve his fighting skills. He is more interested in scholarly things and knowledge in general but hides it as Drevmort's citizens are not very... interested in learning, and view brute strength and boar wrestling as a better passtime than reading.

Three is ideal so that all groups have something for you all to post. That being said, if you can't do that I won't make you, however as Ari mentioned, it would limit your post frequency
