"You can't expect to wield supreme power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!” -- Monthy Python and the Holy Grail

The world in which we will enter is made up of three super powers Kaelath, Cadoania and Creria. These kingdoms have been at war for as long as almost anyone can remember. There are three large plots to kick start The War for Kaelath.

The death of the king of Kaelath has left the kingdom in the hands of a child king and his mother as regent. The seven councilors are vying for power. Cadoania seeks to take control from Kaelath it's rich neighbour and Creria is always attempting raids. The borders are weakening and war is brewing. Creria is planning an invasion. Cadoania is trying its hand at infiltration. A large war is commencing at the center point of the three kingdoms at the heart of the world.

Meanwhile on the islands there is trouble for the dragon riders. A few dozen years ago a great White Dragon egg was discovered and quickly hidden by the Dragon Riders a secret they have kept these dozen years. Only one morning the caretaker of the precious treasure found that the egg was missing.... Where has it gone? Who stole it? Since so little knowledge is know on the White Dragons this egg was everything. The oldest and strongest of the Dragons in this world these great white beauties haven't been around for more than a million years. Extinct some believed. To have an egg found and now suddenly gone is a great loss to Kaelath and a great gain to whomever took the egg. In the wrong hands this Dragon hatchling could end the world. Reshape it... It is only a matter of time before it hatches. WHO shall control that power.

Uncertainty arises in Cadoania as the king sickens and no heirs apparent have been found the internal politics begin to crumble the war with Kealath takes its toll as the civil war for Cadoania's Throne breaks out.

The World

The world is a strictly human realm. With a King Arthur esque feel to the setting. Where castles and hovels exist. Horses and wagons are the most common mode of transportation besides one's feet and swords are the primary weapon used. It's a low tech world so outside of siege engines like catapults and such there isn't any gunpowder.

The majority of the 'known' world consists of the main continent and a few outlier islands to the far south across the sea. Map will come soon... The main continent is separated into three main 'kingdoms'.

Kaelath
The southernmost kingdom includes the four Islands of Fortuna. This kingdom is run by the child king Najja Nexeu. The child king inherited his kingdom after his father was brutally murdered by unknown assassins while Najja was only one and two (12). Najja was the fourth child of the king, but he was the kings only son. Ruling by his side until his majority is Najja's mother Salihah Nexeu and the council of advisors who basically runs the kingdom while the child king is more of a figurehead.

Kaelath is a closed kingdom with few trade and less socialization outside it's borders. They have a heavily fortified border and have a strong dislike for the 'northern barbarian' who share the northern border of the kingdom. To the east of Kaelath and south of Creria is Cadoania.

Names are taken from the female when they are wed. Since the bloodline of a house can be traced through a females children it is considered an honour to take the females name once they wed. A male will lead the kingdom and the armies, but females are the holders of the bloodlines.

Example:
  • Roshian Xeurash became Roshian Nexeu when he married Salihah
  • Slihah Nexeu
  • Najja Nexeu

Titles are taken from their class standing and their father. To do the title for a Kaelathian you list the class then their full name then Anah and their father's first name.

Example:
  • King Najja Nexeu Anah Roshian
  • Merchant Romarch Darji Anah Dorsh

Creria
The kingdom to the north of both Kaelath and Cadoania, Creria is the largest of the three kingdoms. This kingdom is ruled not by one leader but by a series of chieftains and warbands. They are often referred to as the Northern Barbarians by the two other kingdoms as they don't have a solid system of government or any 'definite' settlements. A lot of war goes on in Creria and raids often come out of Creria for resources.

Very little trade happens between the other two kingdoms and Creria. Crerians don't get along with each other very much each. Each tribe is independent and independently at war with the other over territory and resources. Though they do meet twice a year for a very uncomfortably tense peace meet of the chieftains which usually always ends with someone dying...

The names in Creria are always descriptive in meaning. It isn't uncomon to find names such as: Ironfist, or Thundersword as last name and often times their referred names. Last names are taken at maturity two and zero (20) and chosen by the chieftain to honour the child for their deeds.

Example:
  • Bardawulf Ironfist

There is no titles used in Creria beyond Chieftain when the member of the tribe is a Cheif.

Cadoania
Cadoania is the southeastern most kingdom ruled by king Elucrian MaDiáchan of house Diáchan. There are six noble or aristocratic families that are known as houses or highborns. They are as follows:

    Highborn Houses
    • Diáchan
    • Callaghan
    • Dhuibh
    • Phàidien
    • Aonghais
    • Coinnich

There are five lower houses known as the Noble Houses. They are as follows:

    Noble Houses:
    • Aoidh
    • Ìombhair
    • Ceanadach
    • Mártainn
    • Bhàin

The Highborn Houses have always held the kings and their royal family. Sometimes a highborn will marry into a noble house and sometimes a nobleborn will marry into the highborn houses. Though if a male marries a nobleborn female he will retain his highborn status if a highborn female marries down into the noble houses she will loose her highborn status.

Inheritance is passed on through the male lineages thus making the culture vary monarch based. A queen cannot rule is generally just a figurehead. She has no place in politics or in military unlike Kaelath and Creria who do have female warriors. Creria is also monarch ruled where as Kaelath has females in politics.

The highborn and nobleborn houses will use six given names and then have the Ma before the house name if they are male, Ni if they are the female and Moal if they are a servant of that house. Be they handmaidens, servants, or slaves. Any time there is a formal event their full given name plus house name will be announced along with any title they are given. However, most of the noble and highborn will use one of their names as their more common name.

Example:
  • Coraline Angusta Monique Amoria Soliance Roseta NiMártainn
  • Andarion Gorshian Nordian Talaran Morquian Harnish MaAoidh
  • Rosia MoalMártainn

The peasants will have only two given names and will be named Mc before their family name or surname. They won't have a house name and usually the family name is their oldest known ancestor or a famous ancestor.

Example:
  • Rosia McArthur

Titles in Cadoania are perhaps the most complicated system in the world. I will break it down to make it easier and use King Elucrian MaDiáchan as an example for the males and Coraline for the females.

  • Males
      Your title
        Highlord King of Cadoania
      Your full give names

Dragons

Species
There are four known species of Dragons. Only one of them is a sentient species that allows mortals to bind to their young. A jealously guarded secret of Kaelath and her kings. However, over the last few years the dragons have begun to attract far more attention from outsiders then the Kaelathian's would like.

    Golden Dragons
    • Perhaps the oldest of the dragon species. The Golden Dragons are the most sentient of Dragons capable of telepathic communication with their bounded servants.
    • These dragons are the most docile of the Dragon species, they are also the easiest dragons to kill. These dragons don't tend to be useful in war.
    • The Kaelath people have trained these dragons for generations, only 4 of these dragons ever remain with the Kaelath people in their capital city as part of the 'army', however, they are more a badge of strength then actually used for war and rarely do they leave the capital city. A few outlying towns often have dragon tamers who raise dragons they capture as infants, the female dragon mother will follow her baby into whatever camp he or she is taken until that baby is old enough to survive on his or her own then the mover will leave abandoning her young. While she is in the camp however she will kill anything that threatens the baby.
    • Not all babies remain or accept a human bound and most return to their island home.

    Red Dragons
    • Perhaps the most wild of the dragons the reds are untameable and view humans are food.
    • Out of all the dragons the Reds are one of only two species that breath fire or acid and have poisoned fangs that will cause instant death to a human if they happen to survive being bitten.
    • Not much is known about the great red giants. These are the second biggest dragon species known. And they are the most feared species.

    Green Dragons
    • The greens are not as wild as the reds, but they are also quite wild. These dragons are more beast then monster. Unlike the reds they don't kill everything they lay eyes on and don't burn the world to ash if it pleases them.
    • Greens do not breath fire or acid and they do not have poisonous fangs.
    • Greens are perhaps the rarest of the dragons and little if anything is know about them. They are very hard to find and only one has ever been seen in living memory.

    Black Dragons
    • These are the biggest dragons and they are semi-sentient. They will accept a human master, but only if that master is strong enough to dominate the dragons will.
    • These beasts breath fire and acid, but they do not have poisoned fangs.
    • These dragons are really hard to capture as they are fiercely protective of their young. Currently none reside in Kaelath, but a few have resided there in the past. They are often known as the war dragons.
    • Since they can be controlled, barely, they do tend to make great assets to warriors strong enough to control them and not get fried by their own beast.
    • Since they are only semi-sentient they do not understand complex thoughts or concepts but they do have telepathic communication abilities with their bounded humans. These are simple and very weak. Usually simple things like hunger, anger, destruction, ext.

    White Dragons
    • These are an unknown species that haven't been seen for a millennia.
    • Rumored to be the most powerful dragons known.
    • Fully sentient.

How Dragons are Viewed

In Kaelath Dragons are viewed as the children of the gods and thus worshiped as the visible essence of the four greater gods. Every one of the four temples has one golden dragon inside it's depths.

In Creria Dragons are unknown and thus no one gives a **** about them. They are seen as a stupid story their weak neighbours use to scare children.

In Cadoania Dragons are seen as a myth that may or may not be real. Some believe they are real, but have left this world and live amongst the mysterious isles they have never seen. Some believe they are children's stories told by the Kaelathians to make them seem more powerful then they are. Some have seen the great beasts and have gone gibbering mad. Some have seen them and believe them to be hallucinations. Some have seen them and believe they are very real.

The isles of Kaelath

These are a series of isles that Kaelathians discovered int he nineteenth year of the fourteenth kings's reign. Since Kaelath is the only kingdom that backs onto the sea with a bay that is easily accessible and not towering cliffs that make the sea unaccessible as is the case in Cadoania or wastelands of unending snow and ice with even more ice out in the sea as is the case in Creria.

The isles are uninhabitable lands that have been the homes of the dragons for generations, mostly they are all sharp rocks that rise in towering mountains that can be barely seen through the mists that cover the isles. There are a few oasis's of paradise like pristine wilderness on the isles, but beyond that and the dragons nothing else lives there except wildlife and such to feed the dragons.

The dragon population has slowly been dwindling to almost nothing as the years progress. Their numbers are a fraction of what they once were.

Current Political Information

Kaelath
It's current king is a child and the regent his mother. Looking to take more power for themselves the council of seven. Seven rich and noble lineage males are attempting to gain favour with the child king and lead in his place.

A little bit about the breakdown of classes in Kaelath and how they function inside the society.
  • Royal House
The royal house is chosen from amongst the noble houses and is the house in which the current ruling King and his Queen are from. Thus that would mean there are two royal houses, or so one would think, but no this isn't the case. There is only one.

Since the King takes on his Queen's name when the two are wed the house of the Queen become the Royal House. Thus when her son marries the wife of the next king will bring her house up to the Royal House and the current queen's house will fall to Noble House.

It is for this reason that none of the Noble or Royal lineages marry outside of Kaelath homes. Or if they do they are disavowed from their Noble Lineage and not allowed to marry into the Royal family.

At this time the Royal House is Nexeus this will change if/when the king Najja Nexeus marries and accepts his wive's name.
  • Noble Houses
There are 12 noble houses across three varying levels.

    • Upper Echelon
      • Xeurash (as it is the house of the former king Roshian prior to his marriage. The family of Xeurash is considered the top of the Upper Echelon)
      • Massri (as it is the house of the former queen Slihah's father prior to his marriage.)
      • Sawalha (as it is the house of the former king Roshian's father prior to his marriage.)
    • Middle Echelon
      • Dhaki
      • Raihaan
      • Omar
      • Awn
      • Beshara
      • Naasif
The middle Echelon families are those who currently carry favor with the king and his mother.
    • Lower Echelon
      • Nu'maan
      • Aadil
      • Sayed
The Lower Echelon are those families who have lost favor with the king and his mother.

The divide of the houses across the Echelon varies depending on their current connection to the throne of Kaelath. The list that is currently included up here is based off the current King of Kaelath Najja Nexeus and his mother Slihah Nexeus and their connections to the noble houses.

As you can tell there are always more families in the middle echelon then anywhere else.
  • Merchant Class
The merchant class is the only class outside of the guilds that can be bought into. It is on par with the Noble class as far as social status, but a member of the merchant class will never amount to the Royal house unless they first marry into the Noble House. This is the only class that Noble Houses are allowed to marry into.

A middle class or guild member wishing to marry into a Noble House can easily afford to own the Merchant licences and papers. However, they must pay the fees which are extremely extravagant and make it harder for anyone of the lower classes to attain, but not impossible.

The Merchant Guild owns all trade routes and agreements in and out of Kaelath and therefore anyone wishing to sell goods beyond the borders of Kaelath must belong to the Merchant Guild or pay their hefty fee for temporary safe passage.
  • Guilds
These are all the 'businesses' inside Kaelath territory. Think of them like 'trades'. Anyone who belongs to a guild has licence to sell goods, provide services, ext. They are also consider on par to Middle class citizens and can be bought into if you pay their fees.

Though their fees are high they are nowhere near as hefty as the Merchants.
  • Middle Class
Considered the rich, upper echelon of society, not noble or merchant, these are the wealthy citizens of Kaelath
  • Low Class
These are the most popular class in the cities of Kaelath as they tend to have large families and moderate to low wealth. They tend to be hurried by Merchants and Guilds members in order to perform the menial labours.
  • Peasents
Anyone not residing in the main city is considered a peasant regardless of wealth status. Usually the Peasants own the farms or other large industries and have rather amazingly LARGE families.
  • Servants
Self explanatory. These are anyone living in the city who are hired to serve a household and paid for their work, given residence in the home and generally ignored as non-existent.
  • Slaves
Anyone who is not a Kaelath citizen who resides and serves a houses hold doing whatever their lord/lady/owner demands. Regardless. They are not paid. AND almost never get their manumission papers.

Creria
Always at war within it's own borders a few Chieftain seeking more lands for themselves see the weak child king of Kaelath as an opportunity to subjugate that land into it's own territory

Cadoania
The king is gravely ill and has no current son. The six highborn houses hinge on the brink of civil war as they scheme and plot to take his place on the throne and become king thus raising their family into the royal house.

The Four Gods of Kaelath

Maisofiat
The Goddess of the Harvest months. She is one of the kindest of the Goddesses her presence is actually felt amongst her followers. She is the Goddess of the Hunt and thus favours any who hunt.

Ashorn
The God of the Winter months. He is a cold and harsh god who doesn't interact much with his followers causing them and him to be cold, distant and far removed from the regular populace of Kaelath. He is the God of Death

Lorin
The Goddess of the Planting months. She is neither kind nor vengeful she is passive. She doesn't care one way or the other. She is the Goddess of pleasures. She enjoys anything that is pleasurable, from sex to drinking. She favours any mortal who bestows upon her the honour of experiencing in their fleshy pleasures by granting them boons of favour.

Rown
The God of the Summer months. He is the kindest of the gods. He keeps in regular contact with mortals and bestows great knowledge upon his disciples. He is the God of Knowledge. Tending to favour scholars over warriors.

The same can be said for the Leaders such as Elucrian and Najja. The list above is those most important characters to the story. However, that doesn't mean you can't be something else. Feel free to create any character not above listed that fit inside the world.

You can have as many characters as you like. Please follow the naming conventions I have listed in the information and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask either here or via PM. Combat Specific Rules

  • No magic... It doesn't exit!
  • No GodModing... like anywhere else it kills the fun for everyone. On that same note don't kill a PC unless the other person agrees that this is allowable. There is only one PC who must die and I will discuss that information with the player who takes on this character.
  • Use logic. This applies for everything in general but more so for combat. Make your attacks and blocks realistic and within the realm of the possible for your character.
  • Have fun... that the whole point. This isn't my story it's our story and it's meant to be fun and exciting

General Rules

  • NPCs -- don't play another person's NPCs that includes mine, unless you have permission to do so. You can interact with other peoples NPCs including mine whenever you want.
  • NPCs will die during combat, however, unless they are your NPCs leave the death scene to their owners to write and decide. Don't 'claim' to have killed the NPC without having first asked permission from the owner or leaving it up to them if the NPC's wounds are fatal or not.
  • Everyone is human. There are no aliens, no magic users, no half animal people. The only creatures available for play are Dragons and only through a Dragon Rider character not as a stand alone character. Only Gold Dragons are sentient fully, Blacks are partially sentient and Green/Reds are beasts periods.
  • I am holding this to Alpha standards, it is in the cave, but I'm going to make this clear for everyone. What I expect.
    • Good sized post that meet the Alpha requirements
    • Good Grammar, please us a spell check or a word processor or whatever. I don't expect perfection, but if I can't understand your post I won't be happy. I'm french and I work hard to use spell checks and word processors so my posts have a decent level of grammar. I only ask the same of you as I myself am doing.
  • I expect the same level from your character sheet as I would from your post, because of the complexity of this RP I do want a detailed character sheet. This is as much for you as for me. It'll be much easier for you to interact with the environment and partake of the plot if you know your character then if you just do the bare minimum required for the char sheet. I've added in a few prompts into the char sheet to give you a hand with this. It's not mandatory to use the prompts, but they are there to help you out. I'm not asking you to write a novel. Just that your history and personality be like an Alpha Level post (15 sentences with 5 words each). Which is really easy to do if you answer the prompts.
  • Have fun... that's my most favorite rule ever. Just have fun. Enjoy the story and make it your own.

I'm actually very interested in this. It's late here so I'll post my interest and get to you with character ideas alittle later.

Cadonian Character:

Full Name: Jonathan Brond Gordon Connor Ray Mahntel MaCallaghan

Name: Johnny Ray

Nicknames: Grey Wolf

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Appearance: White, 180cm Height. Brown eyes, black hair. Well-Built. He likes to keep his hair short. He likes to wear classy...(I don't know medieval clothing type :D) He is charismatic.

Personality: Cold-blooded, rational, strategist, smart, sarcastic(even he is high-born), pragmatist. He doesn't act with his emotions most of the time. People think he is charismatic-and he has to deal with many ladies even he is married. His primiary motivator is: He is alive. He is going to use his great mind to continue living with power. He is flexible, not stubborn. He is a hater. He hates many things. But keeping it to himself. He loves his wife. He is loyal to his Father.

History: He was born in House of Callaghan, in his Father's Castle. Both his mother and father is highborn. He is fourth child of the family. He has two elder brothers, one elder sister and one younger sister. His eldest brother raised as heir and he become good warrior and commander. Second son raised as... Well, he wasn't raised well. Father tried too hard, but he become someone always sleeps with hookers, likes to show his power and being proud like an ass because he is high-born. While Johnny raised as to be a great mind. Father and his right-hand saw the potential in this kid. He was going to be true heir of this family. Johnny raised as military tactician-strategist, a commander, a plotter, a leader, someone can do important things, someone always have a plan. They teach him how to fight-but they also teach him how to rule a land. Unlike his elder brothers, he become cold-blooded and smart man. Always pragmatist. Now, he is advising his father in King's Court and helping him to be safe. And he is unofficial heir of his father. Both his father and Father's right-hand knows Johnny going to be head of the house one day after his Father.

He is married to a girl(I need name), 4 year younger than him. They married one year ago. The girl was from House of Diáchan. They love each other. Johnny saw the young lady at a festival. He met with her with direct approach. It surprised the girl, Johnny supposed to do some royal things, like other Highborns do. But, he was honest and Johnny earned her love in few months. Then, they got married.

Johnny's childhood was good. His oldest brother was a normal but angry dude. But he liked his young brothers, so Johnny was good with him. He was good with his sisters too and he always loved his sisters. But in the other hand, the second elder brother was pain in ass for Johnny. Johnny always hated him. He was ruining everything Johnny do. And he was only 4 years older than Johnny. The family wasn't forcing them to obey many rules. All they wanted was to raise their children well and give good education. This one missed it, and Johnny hates him. He hated to play simple games like other children do. He prefered to play on maps, develop strategy and rule armies. Many children around him didn't like him much. He never succeed to act like great noble and butthole. He was mostly normal, direct and jerk guy who is very smart. No problem, he is Advisor now while others are sitting in castles.

After 13, his father realized that Johnny was truly a smart kid and found best people to teach him how to rule, plan, develop strategy, make tactics, plot, economy, politics, diplomacy and etc. They also teach him about art of intelligence, using spies and assassins.

He become closer to his Father in time. Between 18-20, he helped his oldest brother to rule their land. At 21, he got married and assigned as Advisor of Third General, by his father. Father heard Johnny did very well back in there, and was ready to get in real politics and business.

No-one knows, he assasinated a Lord from House of Aonghais because he heard he started plotting against his father. No one knows who did this assasination-the Lord killed by a normal knife could be found anywhere. Lord's four guards were also dead-other guards found the body one hour after murder.

Johnny likes his oldest brother and trust him a little-won't share secrets with him.
Johnny likes his Father and completly trusts him.
Johnny hates his second brother and hates him again, never trust him.
Johnny likes both sisters and trusts them very much.
Johnny likes his mother and trusts her ver much.
Johnny Loves his wife so much and trusts her completly.

Johnny's wife is 165cm, white girl with hazel eyes and black hair. Her hair is long(get's below her breasts). She is thin and very beautiful. Also very smart-actually as smart as Johnny. May be more. She is always supporting Johnny. They want to have a son-but they think it's early.

He is living with His Wife and staying at same place with his Father, in Kingdom's Capital.(If RP going to start at battlefield, he is going to be at there with his father.)

Weapons/Armour: Carries a sword and wears light armour for normal time to have more agility. And he always carry a knife with him. He can use bow very well, even on horse-back. At battlefield, he will wear heavier armour but not the heaviest one. He will use sword, bow & arrow and hand-axe. Also a shield. He prefers to fight on horse-back.

Title: Highborn Lord and Advisor of the Third General Jonathan Brond Gordon Connor Ray Mahntel MaCallaghan son of Highborn Lord and Third General Martin George Canoet Jorgon Nighar Durden MaCallaghan, of House Callaghan.

Full Name: (only if noble/high born or applicable)
Name: Naida Alaura Lastalt
Nicknames: Naddie
Age: 29
Gender: Female

Appearance: 5’6, 110lbs, average build. Not that muscular, curvy but not a perfect hourglass figure, and stronger than she looks. Shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes, thin eyebrows and about average lips. She has a beauty mark on her chin, and freckles.

Personality: Naida is a very gentle person with a big heart, bold and courageous, and loves nature. She can be stubborn as well. Very patient and mild-tempered overall.

History:

Mother: Fira Edith Lastalt
Father: Carlisle Ramsey Lastalt

Since Naida was a little girl, she has always loved dragons and longed to work with them.

She grew up as an only child a in a Low Class family. Her mother was supposed to give birth to a second child, but it ended up being stillborn. The family was very strict, always keeping an eye on Naida. Naida followed a very ‘all work and no play’ lifestyle, but was hardly ever unhappy with her situation. She was a child who had a wild imagination and always seemed to make the best of things.

Her first encounter with a dragon occurred when she was around ten years of age. Because her family worked with a powerful merchant family who worked for the king, it was rare for her to know exactly what her parents were doing. She wasn’t even allowed to touch certain things, and the merchant man pretended she wasn’t there if her parents left her with him. However, one day she was curious and sneaked into a back area. There, she saw a beautiful black dragon being handed to the king.

Naida received a heavy scolding, but it was worth it. The image of the dragon had been burned in her mind. She made it her goal to study and learn more about these powerful beasts.

Eventually, she managed to get a merchant license. Soon after that, she began dealing with the dragons and worked her way up, becoming recognized by the king, and moved to the ranks of the dragon riders. But that was not enough, she wanted to do more than just be a rider. She wanted to train the dragons as a way to understand them.

So, Naida did become a trainer for both dragons and humans alike. She wished to share what she learned with other aspiring soldiers, or anyone who wanted to learn more about dragons.

Weapons/Armour: Standard, yet cheap, lightweight leather armor, shin guards, helmet, leather boots, and gloves.
  • Dagger – Six inch dagger with an ivory hilt, carried for defense more than combat.
  • Sachel - For carrying extra things she might need, depending on the situation. She likes to stay prepared.

Full Name: Aleria Eos Raihaan

Name: Aleria

Nicknames: Allie (Al-E)

Title: Dragon Rider Noble Aleria Eos Raihaan Anah Kalith

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Marital Status: Unmarried

Appearance: Eyes: Dark Green
Hair: Dark Brown
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 142 lbs
Aleria has a lanky appearance, but is over all balanced well. She has high cheekbones, tanned skin, and enough muscles to add weight, but not a lot of fat. She had long hair that reaches just past her shoulders that she often wears in a partial braid, leaving the under part free to move about. Her clothes tend to be made of a thick dark leather, a tunic, and breeches when she is dragonriding (her preference) and finely made dresses when at court (if she absolutely must).

Personality: Aleria likes to stand stupid (what she feels is stupid) ideals/standards on their heads. If she knows anything, it's that the way things are now, is not the way they should be, she hates the gender inequality. Balance on both sides of the line, equal in all things. Her greatest fear is marriage. Well, more specifically, marriage to a man who is an imbecilic bigot. An intelligent one, or one who can see her point of view might make her change her mind. She is also afraid of losing her ability to fly with her Ellon. She dislikes mead, idiots, and louts. She is intelligent, capable, and has an unbendable (mostly) will, extremely good at flying with dragons, able to train the tempermental Blacks from the wild, well at least ONE. She has an amazing ability to aim while in flight, and is well known for her prowess with a Longbow. Her greatest weaknesses are the inability to see that sometimes things aren't in black and white, her Ellon, Ellon's clutch, and listening to her older brother, whom she will do most anything for, and bittersweet chocolate. She wants to change how the genders are viewed, even if it's only a little bit, for her a small change is a big victory. Her most immediate goal is to impress her Commander in Ilisnor. She is well known as the fiesty Stormblade, and that she should not be crossed, or face a severe tongue-lashing, she thinks of herself as a confident, capable, and clever woman. Most of her friends, the few she has anymore, just think of her as odd and eccentric, while her family is constantly shaking their heads at her antics. It seems that this defiance runs in the family's females, but they always settle down after marriage.

History:
A fiercely independent woman, Aleria finds her own path in life. She doesn't listen to others about what a woman or man should do, or what is possible. This was cemented into her understanding when, as normal for a noble household she was “sold” to the temple for training. Resenting what her family had done, and the continual expectations placed upon her because of her gender, she turned away from the belief that gender roles were for the best. It was there, while at the temple, that she learned the skills to work with the dragons. A new love was born within her breast. But the interactions with the Golds left her unfulfilled, as the challenge of working with them was minimal. Her family’s military background had her sent out to Ilisnor, to receive the basics in dragon riding. Her commander Roshderk, blew her off as a soft weak woman, and paid little attention to her. Knowing that she was far better at the task then the others she had met there, she devised a way to prove her worth to the man and them all. As a consequence she left for the isles months back. There she made her way inland and found the rarest of the rare... a Black Dragon. Or Rather a weakened Black dragon and her clutch. She took it upon herself to use the opportunity to heal and train the Black, using a modified saddle and harness to learn how to ride her, and now has a full clutch with which she can help train for other riders. She calls her Dragon Ellon, and finally weary of life without other humans carefully placed the clutch into a large warm sand filled bag, before setting out to fly with Ellon back to Ilisnor, and her homelands.

Weapons/Armour: Studded leather armor, a dagger, and a Longbow, all finely made, and a satchel that was modified to carry a large clutch of dragon eggs.

What is an RP? An RP is a creature that is frequently found on the net... ARPEE! is the natural call of the online species, of the subspecies "roleplayicus".

Easily identified, the species flock to online chatrooms and place on various displays of brilliance to attract rp mates. They are not monogamous creatures, bouncing from room to room, some being so bold as to 'court' other rp's simultaneously!

@Sounds_of_Silence approved. I loved your character Sounds really awesome job!

@Louloubelle approved. I loved her Loulou! Great job!

If you guys have ideas for things you want to see included in Kaelath don't hesitate to shoot them my way. If we can get a few more we can get this ball rolling. Ideally I'd like at least three more people to round out the group. I'll wait a few more days and then if not well get this ball rolling with more NPCs ;) I can totally throw NPCs around bahhhahhh

Name: Iora Hearthkeeper
Nicknames: She-wolf
Title: None
Age: 24
Gender: Female

Appearance: Iora is short and compact in build, perhaps 5'2" without being stocky. She is immensely strong
in a wiry and weather-beaten way, with a slightly thicker than average layer of fat due to her icy upbringing. She keeps
her wild black hair tied back in a rough, waist length braid, which, coupled with her arched eyebrows and tendency to not smile
lend her a severe look she does nothing to alleviate. Her nose descends in a straight edge of forty degrees to a finely pointed
tip, and small, thin lips and a strong but small chin frame her typical frown. Her eyes are a dark blue, large and slanted in
an almost elfin quality, probably her best looking features. Her high cheekbones are spattered with a light coating of freckles.
A thin and ragged scar crosses from the middle of her right eyebrow, skips off of the bridge of her nose, and continues down
her left cheek, matched by two smaller, parallel ones that cross just beneath her nose and on her chin. Her voice has an almost
musical quality to it, soft and lilting even when she's angry, but her accent gives her away as a northerner instantly, if her
clothes hadn't already.
She never, ever pretends to be anything but a warrior, and carries herself as such, standing with chin up and chest out in defiance
of anyone who questions her. Typically, she dresses in leathers, hides, and furs, though she wears a chainmail hauberk under an
unadorned breastplate into combat. High, fur-lined leather boots and several bags and pouches, as well as a haversack, complete
her travelling outfit. She moves with the well-carried grace of a born fighter, tensed and ready to spring into action at all times
even when she appears to be relaxing. Her mannerisms resemble those of a snow leopard waiting for the prey to make a bad judgment call.

History: Iora has no family. None that she acknowledges, at any rate. She grew up the only daughter amongst three brothers, all
children of a small-time warchief known as Hrolfgir Stonetooth, high up the the alpine reaches of Creria. While Stonetooth was not one
of the legendary cheiftans, he certainly commanded respect amongst most of his peers due to his ferocity in battle and shrewd tactics.
Unfortunately, they were not flawless. During one of the chieftan moots, he and the two sons he had brought with them were slain in a
staged argument, while the clans of his two biggest rivals swept down on his settlement. Iora's last brother was killed in the defense
and she herself only escaped because she had been bringing supplies to one of the wisemen further up the mountain on her father's request.
She returned to find her entire family and all of her friends murdered, her mother missing and presumed enslaved or killed.
Instead of seeking immediate revenge, as most who heard her story expected, she struck south, and continues to do so. She extracts
oaths and fealties from those she doesn't kill in challenges, and has amassed quite a few questionably loyal followers. Unbeknownst to
those who wish to finish off her family once and for all, she plans to carve out her own kingdom in the warm and fertile southern lands.
Only a few very trusted subordinates even know a hint of this objective.

Personality: Iora is a born warlord, and she knows it. She inherited her father's ability to understand her enemies, and a keen
understanding of the average man's motivations. She had been taught to fight by her brothers and father from the time she could swing
her fists, and is comfortable with all manner of combat, including from the back of shaggy mountain ponies. As you would expect from such a
childhood, she has no time for those who cannot fend for themselves in some manner or another, though she, unlike her father, understands
that mental acuity can be honed and wielded as well as a weapon, so she does not begrudge scholars they're due respect. She is cold and aloof
to any she doesn't know, preferring to hold back and watch how they act before she opens up. When she does, she is as strong and fierce as
a mother bear in defending what she has claimed as hers.

Weapons/Armour:
Armour consists of a padded leather jerkin and leather pants, overlaid by a chainmail hauberk that covers her to her mid-shins and elbows,
where it is tied to keep it from flapping about. A breastplate and steel elbow and thigh guards also help with this. A leather and steel gorget
protects her neck, and her boots have steel plates sandwiched between the layers of leather to protect her calves and shins. Thick leather gloves
with small plates across the backs of the hands and fingers complete her armour.
Weapons include a two-handed bearded axe, longsword and shield, a thick-hafted boar spear, and a shortbow with a dozen arrows. As for
the not-so-obvious, she has a dagger in each boot and two tucked into a belt on the inside of her breastplate, along with her long-bladed skinning
knife.
She keeps all of these honed, almost obsessively, and maintains her armour so that not a speck of rust shows up.

Yes this is a huge list. The two players character that I have are my mains. The Gods will come in from time to time depending on what's going on in story so I have made them applications and the White Dragon that is the linchpin for this particular adventure. Within the next week I will put up the IC.

The seven advisors can be adopted if need be. They are important to the story as they are going to affect the political atmosphere of Kaelath, which will affect how everything comes about. Since this RP mostly focuses on Kaelath I have done up the remaining important players that were not claimed as PCs as NPCs.

My IC posts will contain some if not all of these. It's dependent on what's going on.

Thus Najja never had a proper childhood, due to war and strive the family knew that at any time Najja could inherited the throne and they wanted him prepared to be a leader.
  • Upbringing: Najja was brought up knowing that he could inherit the throne at any minute and that he must learn all that he could before he was given the responsibility of running a kingdom.
  • Early years: From the very beginning of his life Najja was the treasured male child of his family. The only son of the Nexeu royal line. Through him the throne can be paced, but through his sisters the bloodline continues. All except Bes who was nearly his age.

    • Beshara (distant relations through mother's side)
    • Nexeu (distant relations through father's side)
  • Parenting: His father was harsh and demanding on him. He wanted Roshderk to go into politics like him, but Roshderk didn't feel it. He wanted to fight and to win. He would often sneak away to go out and play with wooden swords. Spending more time with his swordmasters then his instructors. His mother was kind and doting on her son and always intervening on his behalf.
  • Upbringing: Roshderk was brought up hard and trained from an early age to be his father's heir, however it wasn't what he wanted so he didn't much listen to his father. His mother was always kind and doting on her son, always spoiling. Roshderk was brought up in luxury and though he doesn't live that way now, he didn't know what life was really like in the early years of his life.

  • Childhood: With siblings to get into trouble with and friends aplenty Roshderk didn't lack for adventures and mischief as a young boy. Preferring to run away and play war in the fields or on the lake he didn't spend much time at home or with his studies. This caused a rift between father and son that his mother often ended up interfering with.
  • Adolescent years: As soon as he was old enough Roshderk joined the military and rose through the ranks quickly and with relative ease. He met his wife in a campaign in a remote town and they soon fell in love and were wed when Roshderk was coming of age at one and eight (18).
  • Adulthood: Roshderk had joined the military at one and six (16) years old and worked hard to reach the level he is now at. When he turned twenty he ended upon a mission to the Isles of Fortuna and ended up bonding a Black Dragon there. He trained hard with the dragon and the dragon legion until he finally became Commander of the Legion at three and zero (30). Roshderk was a harsh master and tended to be even more so with his under-commanders. This made him unpopular, but it also made him one the best commanders. He was promoted to Prime Commander when he turned three and three (33). This is still the job he performs.
  • Coming of age: Roshderk's coming of age was a simple thing. He was bestrode Amanariah Nu'maan and within a year he was married to her. Together they had two daughters, Rodigarah and Alorianah who are his pride and joy.

Hopefully it's worth the wait.

THE IC

I would like either everyone to be in the throne room or the temple of Ashorn, it is up to you guys where you want your character to start out, but that is where the scene starts out and where the majority of the action at this time will be.

If you want help figuring out how/why/what your character would be doing in the throne room or temple or if you want to collaborate on something just PM me, or skype me, or poke me here.

If you're still accepting people I'd be interested in joining. I already like the idea of barbarian warlord, fits me perfectly. Just a few things;

Humans I take it? Just double checking :P

And where would you like those in Creria to start should I join?

Oh I know. I read. I'm using a character I've created before for this, it's from another roleplay so feel free to knitpick what you don't want in it to make it fit.

Full Name: Chief Labhruinn Stonejaw
Name: Labhruinn Gilios
Nicknames: The Bear
Title: Chieftain
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Standing just shy of six foot four and built like a bull, with the strength too. Labhruinn is a beastly Crerian man. Thick, dark features with heavy set eyes, a thick plaited beard, an imposing red-dyed mohawk and red and black tattoos covering almost every inch of his body in various designs. Often seen wearing furs of varying colours and thick cloaks. The most notable detail about his person would be the human skull he wears on his face, masking his features from the lower lip up.

Personality:
Due to his frightful temper and blood-lust, Labhruinn is a difficult individual to get along with, often seeing any other's as weak and useless to his cause and will sometimes turn on allies just to get his fix of combat. Overtly aggressive and brutal, he's seen as imposing and not very approachable, but definitely someone you'd want on your side when the blades come out. Not much of a religious man, Labhruinn prefers to write his own fate and believes anyone who offers their praise to 'Gods' is worthless and without courage, which often causes issues with the more zealous clans.

Overtly aggressive, nonsensically brutal and without most moral standings, makes Labhruinn easily hated and distrusted. Making him hard to work with in a group, his stubbornness will often leave him taking a poorer first choice than a better second. However there's very little that can survive Labhruinn's wrath and still walk afterwards, his strong-will and stubborn-mind make him unwavering even when faced with impossible odds.

Having never really settled for one woman, he has no children and has likely never even thought about the prospect, too fueled with rage and the need for battle to be content with sitting down once more.

History:
Labhruinn was born to a Crerian clan in the far north, who at the time mainly warred with itself. Being the second most powerful clan among the Crerian warbands, the Gilios clan controlled a vast majority of the Crerian territories, spanning the far Northern provinces; The Varcrag as it as called. With this, Labhruinn was always content and was brought up with the finest furs and materials one could ever need.

As he grew up however, he became restless, often getting agitated with sitting in the hall's and remaining within the palisade walls of his home and as such, he was taught to hunt, often joining the men in parties and learning quite a few valuable lessons in survival and tracking, by the time he was thirteen, his skill with the bow could rival even the older teenagers who had been training far longer. This was about the time he started training for real with sword and shield, however his quick temper and restlessness had him destined for a much different style.

Five years later, after the death of his mother, the Gilios territories had fallen into disarray due to the incompetence of his constantly intoxicated father, suffering depression from the loss of his lover. This sparked a new side of Labhruinn that would seal his future for years to come, taking charge, he lead a coup against his father and slayed him on the throne and executed his Lords. At the age of eighteen, Labhruinn became Chief of the Gilios territories and not two months later, lead a successful attack on his neighboring Chieftain's territories, sealing five under his domain and another two contested, including a long abandoned stronghold on the Crerian borders.

Growing progressively more aggressive and greedy, Labhruinn waged a bloody and brutal war with his neighbors for the next three years, known to be some of the largest warbands ever massed by the Crerian Chieftains. In this time he'd also taken minor skirmishes to the other nations borders, pushing back any advances on his lands and often raiding settlements at the same time, however his rising dominion could not last and a year after the three year feud, a peace treaty was signed and lands were handed back, dropping Gilios back into second of the largest clans, however his leadership and ability in war had made him a feared opponent and had found him respect that would last a lifetime.

Weapons/Armour:

A great two handed bone and wood mace which he primarily uses to brutal effect. Though he has been known to carry a short sword and dagger, two heavy throwing axes and very little armour bar his cloak and furs.
