Are looking for any new characters? If so, I'd like to join but I have one question first; is it O.K. for other people to be traveling with/a part of the main hero group even if they are not one of the first five conduits?

new characters are always welcome. and i don't have a problem with it. An extra character to the main group is sometimes helpful and makes the progression of the story more interesting. So go ahead and put up a sheet Spotsie and we'll see how it goes from there

Name: Diamond (Koko) Akua

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Abilities: Although Diamond is not a conduit, she possesses a solid, Earth-like personality that keeps her and the people around her calm and together; although, this is not really a power, just a personality trait. Also, she is an extremely fast runner, and is quick on her feet after years of playing soccer and running track. She also knows a lot of first aid.

Weapons: A light, short metal sword that is sheathed on her right hip is her main weapon. In her rucksack, Diamond also carries a slingshot and a small bow that she each carved herself.

Appearance: African American, with ear-length braided black hair and brown eyes. She is not tall, but not short either, and has an athletic build that has been further hardened by the post apocalyptic environment. While she used to wear earrings, they were stolen quite a long time ago by bandit conduits. Her face looks gentle unless she is confronted with danger, and she tries to smile even when the situation is somber.

Brief Bio: Diamond was born Koko Akua in Ghana, but her family moved to the U.S. when she was only a small child. Although she carries no significant accent, she can still speak Twi, her first language, and often resorts to when she is not thinking. Having participated in many sports, Diamond finds socializing something natural and easy. She is also naturally kind and nurturing. Since she turned fifteen, she had been working at a local pool near her hometown, first as a lifeguard, and eventually as a manager. Before the catastrophe, she was learning to become a biology teacher, but her dreams ended abruptly. Soon after, she met Ken, whom she has been traveling with since.

Name: Ken/Kenny Rogers

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Element/Abilities: He is a natural puzzle solver, and enjoys things like riddles and jokes. Often he has deja vu, sometimes so intense that he can predict what will happen before it actually does. Whether or not this power is linked to the solar flare is unknown, but it works best after he has had a good night's sleep. His upper body is quite strong, given he has been living in a wheelchair since he was 17.

Weapons: Two knives that are each individually sheathed on a chest strap individually tailored to him. There is also a holster for a pistol that he knows he was lucky to have found and kept. He shares this firearm with Diamond when necessary.

Appearance: Caucasian with short, raggy brown hair, blue eyes and a little stubble every now and then. While he tries to keep his deviously childish face decent for Diamond's sake, it's sometimes hard in the new environment. His legs are both severed at the knee, and he travels in a fairly new brand of wheelchair--lightweight and silver, one that Diamond has an easy time pushing on abandoned highways. His upper body is well toned, and his biceps and triceps are exceptionally strong.

Brief Bio: Ken looked forward to a bright future--getting good grades, excelling in music and theater, but his life took a weird turn 4 years before the solar flare when his legs were severed in a car accident with his older brother. Strangely enough, he found happiness in his new life, strengthening his upper body so that he could someday live independently as a music composer. After the creation of the mutants and the conduits, Ken was separated from his family and everything that he knew, and was left for dead until Diamond came to his rescue.
