*She walked still and shook her head slightly as he asked if she was okay, she still felt light head. She was awfully puzzled about why she was had used so much what she did wasn’t that major and shouldn’t have made her faint. She looked and without thought clinged to him as he lifted her off her feet. She nodded slowly as he said me in the council. Looking at him she blinked and pondered his meaning of what he had said and forced a strained giggle the only problem she might have with that is when the others arrived the werewolves and mostly likely the vampires and with the condition she was in she couldn’t fight them but she did have enough mana to restrain them but that might end up killing her that was the last thing she needed to happen. Being that no other mage had surfaced and she was the only one able to meet with the elder spirits due to the fact that she was the Moros mage.*

*She smiled softly as she was placed in her seat she almost collapsed in it as he did but snuggled to the soft velvet back she watched Dherris wondering what he was doing. She watched him leave and go to the inner sanctuary and thought nothing of it she trusted him and new that he would not try to attack, he was not that foolish she could tell by the concern in his voice that he would not harm her. She knew that he knew that she had no reason to harm him either. She watched him hurry back into the room and could feel the life mana oozing off of him. She watched and felt the life mana flow into her body she took a deep breath in allowing it to fill her body. She felt the light headedness go away and she felt less drained then she was. She looked down at him and nodded she wasn’t fully recovered but she was enough to conduct the meeting and take care of any problem that may come up. This time she meant business and no force was going to stop her this problem would be resolved. She then took out her phone and called the Lycan leaders along with the vampires and left a message to come to the meeting hall as soon as possible she wanted to get this meeting over with and get this problem resolved. The meeting was to be set for the next night at midnight, she would have had it that night but she thought that it would be too soon and she need rest. Her voice was strained as she left the message as she snuggled the his hand softly they were and odd combination death and life together as one.* “Thank you Dherris.” *She smiled out shutting her eyes and breathed slowly allowing sleep to take her for the moment.*

Enoch nodded at the man he turned towards Memnoch and gave a curt nod.

"Memnoch do me a favor and go to the lower floors, I want to make sure that our little groups are obeying."

Memnoch raised an eyebrow but obeyed without a word, which was a blessing in it's own. He slid from the room without a noise, the door closing softly behind him.

Enoch leaned back and sighed, "thank you for your assistance Romstrahd, it should prove invaluable. Nonetheless you are by no means to mistake the calm of this city for reality. Its too true that by the end of this ordeal, all will turn on one another once again, some ties cannot remain bound."

He perked his head up slightly, something had caught his attention, he sighed again, it took long enough "Even within our own kind, my own authority is questioned, but nonetheless, one does what one must."

With those words having left his mouth, the familiar crashing sound of glass filled the room as a group of three vampires burst into the room, various weapons drawn.

Enoch rolled his eyes slightly as he stood up to face his intruders with an air of disdain around him.

"It took you long enough Yuri, I would have thought you would have come for my head much sooner than this."

The blond in the middle merely grinned as he spoke, "yes well, one most be prepared, and timing is everything you know."

Enoch cocked his head, "In other words, when Memnoch was not around?"

The vampire to the left hissed, "easier when your guard dog isn't around, eh?"

Enoch shook his head, "sad...Memnoch would have loved to take care of you three, but even so it's my job to deal with traitors, especially considering you have insulted our guest," he spoke motioning towards Rom.

"Screw your guest!" the one on the left hissed, the last words he was to speak again as a blur flew across the room with a flash of silver and the singing sound of a sharpened blade mixed with the air. The blade sliced with ease through the young one's neck, a kick to the body sending the seperated head to the ground.

The other two leapt into action, one with his own sword, the other with a battle axe in each hand. Enoch spun with ease, his foot connecting with the axe wielder, sending him flying backwards into the opposite wall, leaving only Yuri in front of him. Enoch spun, meeting Yuri's blow with grace and spinning around after throwing the blow back and brought his sword down into the oncoming axe blow. The clang of the metal's reverberated through the room, swiftly Enoch's foot came up again, with noticeably less power into the vampires chest only reeling him backwards as Enoch's sword sliced down the vampires head.

Coldly he turned to Yuri who had dropped his sword and bent to his knees, a smirk on his face, "you will not harm an unarmed man, right?"

"You are a traitor, no?" Enoch asked coldly.

Yuri nodded, knowing the fate of traitors as his eyes gazed at the sword in Enoch's hand, "I would be, but only if my actions were towards a recognized leader, and you proved that to me today."

Enoch's lip curled in disgust as the sword disappeared in his sheath, but his hand sent Yuri to the ground roughly.

"I have no need for your personal acceptance, and for that you will have your punishment traitor," he began as a handful of loyals all but flew into the room, he pointed down to the bodies, "clean up this mess, nothing proper, traitors deserve none of that, as for Yuri...restrain him and leave him alive for Memnoch to deal with."

Yuri's eyes went wide in complete terror and panic, his cool facade lost instantly at the thought of being left to Memnoch's hand.

"No!"

Enoch waved them out without another word, turning towards the broken window, the wind gusting in, he sighed again and glanced down at his clothing, a red line showing on his clothes from the blood of the vampires.

He groaned as he grabbed ahold of it, "It never ends!" (reference check?)

He suddenly remembered that Rom was still in the room as he turned, clearing his throat. He gave a polite smile, and bowed to him slightly.

"I apologize for the interruption, you are free to use this facility as you see fit, other than restricted areas, I'm sure you understand. Any aid you require will be given within a reasonable amount...that is all." His tone giving a strong sense of dismissal.

He turned to notice a message on his machine, it seemed the council of mages wanted a meeting, so be it, just have to leave a message requesting the date and time.

The dinner with Jack's family went fairly smoothly, though she was concerned when he left the room on such a hurry. Shey had an inkling as to what it was that was bothering him, she had felt it too the disturbance in the natural order of things. Then again lately the whole damn city was starting to feel that way so she was almost beginning to get jaded by the feeling. Saying good night to his family at the door with a plate of food in her hand Shey left with Jack with a false sense of normalcy when they got into his car. Shey yawned a bit feeling the effects of the turkey settling in, making herself glad that he did have a car and she was not forced to hoof it all the way back to the den. Sitting in the car in silence for a moment as she looked out the window, watching the scenery go by before finally she spoke, "We need to talk." she said simply now turning to study his face as she spoke, "About what happened last week and the things that I said and I am now doing...." she spoke softly actually afraid of upsetting or hurting him. "I told you before that there would be a war between us and the humans. I meant it and I'm still planning on getting revenge for those of my pack that were slaughtered by those humans." she took a deep breath as she looked away to the window, "I understand if you wish to have no part in my fight and I will make sure that your family is safe guarded should the fight go that far, but please understand that this is something I feel I must do. Not just for my pack, but the others out there who have been harmed by the ignorance and foul tempers of humans." she glanced over to steal a glance at Jack from the corner of her eye to gauge his reaction and wait for his response.

Sasha lay in some dirty hotel bed, the bodies of the two human males lay cold now beside her. They had not lasted as long as she would have hoped, but then again her appetite had been very strong and she had found it hard to hold back and really make it last so she could enjoy it. All well, she was nice and fed now so she would be better able to control herself come her next meal. Thinking of which she needed to be out and exploring this fine city instead of laying in this dump with a couple of stiffs. "Sorry boys its been fun, but I have to get going now." she said aloud to the dead bodies as she gets out of the bed and heads into the shower. Emerging sometime later wash and looking like a beautiful human female, with smooth honey colored skin, chocolate brown eyes, thick luscious black hair and a body that made men leave their wives. Using a bit of her magic she conjured herself up some clothes, consisting of a white button up shirt, black pleated skirt and matching heels. Giving herself a once over in the mirror she smiles and winks to herself as walks out of the room then down to the lobby. Once there she uses a bit more of her magic to make the desk clerk completely forget about her as nothing more then some beautiful woman as she steps out into the night, breathing deep the scent of the humans who were her prey.

Jack absorbed Shey's words passively as he pulled up to a light, depressed the clutch and rolled the stick shift back to first gear. He squeezed the wheel as he contemplated just what she was saying. He let out a breath before he began speaking.
"Listen Shey....5 years ago my dad died. At the time I was still with the Arrows. A lot of things were bad and pushed me but my dad's death took me right over the edge. The real reason I became a private investigator was so I could follow up leads and track my father's killer legally. It took me a year but I found the bastard and.....I killed him. Shot him dead for what he had done to my father, my family......But, when he was dead it didn't give me the satisfaction I wanted....it left me feeling empty and hollow. I haven't even told my family this, but I'm telling you because...I love you Sheyera West, I have since the moment saw you and I don't want you to feel the emptiness I did. When you live for revenge, what've you got left after you take it? When I left the alley on that cold, brutal night I didn't feel any relief, I didn't feel any better. I just took the life of a man I didn't know. But, I'll be there for you, no matter what you decide, I'll be there for all the cold nights and stormy skies, I'll be there. Just like I promised. But, please, remember that there are innocent people still left in this ****ing up world..." The light changed and the car thrummed to life as he came off the clutch and let his foot depress the gas pedal. He looked up at Shey and felt his heart soar, along with something he hadn't felt in a long time: hope. He reached over slowly and gently lifted her chin up to look in her eyes.
"We're going to be ok. I promise." Lost in the infinite expanse of her gaze, he let thoughts of demons and bloody shadows fade to the recesses of his mind and focused only on the one he was madly in love with.
We're going to be ok.....

Dherris sighed as Cutra passed over into sleep. He got up from his kneeling position and looked at her for a long while. It wasn’t how he planned to end the night, he was hoping for something a lot more… fun. Another sigh escapes him as he grabs a pen and tears off a piece of paper from a pad by one of the council desks. *Call me when you need me* was all he wrote along with his number before folding the paper so it stood up on the desk in front of Cutra. Finally he left the council hall thinking that he at least he got his foot in the door.

He couldn’t stay with Cutra asleep, if he was discovered by some other mage he would have been in serious trouble. Even more so if an archmage caught him since he is after all supposed to be in exile from the city. It was best for him to just try and avoid trouble until Cutra could piece together her plan for keeping him in the city.

He walked quietly through the warm air and the bloodstained streets to make it back to his apartment. There was little else he could do that night, there wasn’t enough time really to go out and find new entertainment for the night. His hand came up and covered his eyes as the headache from earlier started to return though much less than the migraine it used to be it was still strong for the moment. With his hand over his eyes and the headache, Dherris failed to notice two critical things. The first was the fact the hairs on the back of his neck were standing up telling him a supernatural he had never encountered before was near (mages have the innate ability to sense other supernaturals but only Prime practitioners are able to identify them by their aura). The second was that he wasn’t watching where he was walking…

Brian*********************

Brian groaned as he picked himself off his bed for the moment required to look at the messages on his phone. The first saying the new prince wanted to speak with the Alpha’s and the second by Lady Cutra telling the leaders to show for a meeting at midnight the next night. He resolved to go to the mages meeting and if the prince didn’t show for that then he’d call the prince… Besides he was going to be busy that day (actual daylight hours) spending time in the Shadow again trying to slow the progress of the Wound.

No werewolf in their right mind would spend time inside a Wound. Most that go in don’t come out again or come out insane. Brian though was doing his best for the city. He didn’t care about his life so much as the lives of all those who lived in the city and it grieved him that he dragged his pack into this… They though decided to stay and help the city as best they could despite Brian’s warnings. Brian hoped that they made some progress soon though; he wasn’t sure how much longer he could take the mental/spiritual abuse… It felt now as if something was trying to force its way into his head but he couldn’t let it get to him… He wasn’t going to let the city or his packmates down…

Romstrahd's eyes never diverted from the view of the city. Its lights glaring out and forcing the cold darkness away giving false hope of security to the humans that dwelled within. He knew this false sense of security all too well, for when that night his beloved became a victim to the war of the clans, he was her false sense of security. There is nothing in this world can offer complete security, one may think so but the cold reality is there is none.

His gaze only left the view momentarily when Enoch gave Memnock some orders; a small smile crossed his face as he looked upon the angered face of Memnock, the baby sitting orders didn't coincide with him to well. But we all have a job to do and some just isn't as glamorous as others. As the prince continued to address him, his gaze returned to briefly before moving back to the city view. Giving a slight nod of his head as he understood what the prince was telling him.

Shattering glass brought his gaze upon the three crazed Vampires that entered the office with weapons readied. Turning slightly to face the intruders Rom's hand found the pommel of his sword but refrained from pulling it when the prince's words streaked by. A slight smile formed over his face as the two sides squared off with words.

The speed of the prince and his fighting ability put Romstrahd's doubt in check for he was good, but being a fighter isn't all that is necessary to run a society. It takes diplomacy as well as a strong hand, but in time all will be reveled. He only hoped that it was sooner than later. He turned back to the view of the city once again as the last traitor fell and the prince resumed his posture.

“Thank you.” replied Romstrahd as he was welcomed and given permission to use the facility. “As you wish.” He moved toward the door upon the princes waving him off. He knew what the Prince wanted but before he was going to jump in without feeling around a bit was not going to happen. He wanted to scope the city out more, get the feeling of what is really going on and get the other side of the story before making his presence noticed.

The city night's air was refreshing as he emerged from the building. His destination was unknown at the time so he just began to walk the streets, taking in the atmosphere as he moved away from the Vampire haven. “So it shall begin.” he muttered as his figure faded into the shadows...

*Cutra had awaken sometime later she clutched the chair as she did and woke up form a cold sweat and winced slightly looking around. She woke hearing the chilling scream of a dieing soul, on that died prematurely. *“Dherris…Dherris…” *She whimpered out and blinked several times. Seeing him nowhere she turned and saw the paper on the desk. She frowned and was deeply sadden that he had left her there asleep. If anyone that was against humans or mages, the could have easy killed her in her sleeping form. She pulled out her phone and put his number into your phone and then on her speed dial. Yawning softly she looked at the clock on her phone it was about 2 am. She arose and headed out she was about a mile from her hotel room.*

*She stood slowly and wobbled slightly and walked toward the door she could still feel Dherris present that would be a problem if any of the other mages showed before the meeting. She walked out and shut the doors behind her and walked off. She was worried about Dherris, she didn’t want to call she didn’t know if he would be asleep so she didn’t call. She walked and leaned heavly on the wall as she did, she was awake but still not have all her normal senses back. The war troubled her, she heard more and more screams everyday it was getting out of control and it needed to be stopped. Even if it meant she had to kill again which was something she didn’t want to have to resort to. She thought to herself. She had wanted Dherris to be there during the meeting. She doubted she would have enough mana to do much but she would call him if she needed to. She had made it through her first date kind of…well till she fainted. To bad that had to cut her night short. She looked and felt the present of the new supernatural in the city, he was faint from were she was but she would probably see him or her at the meeting if they decided to attend.*

*Finally reaching the hotel she collapsed against her bed looking around she sighed gently to herself. Why was it that war and death was around her were every mages showed up. She wondered if Dherris was okay and was tempted to call him but did not she soon fell back asleep. Only to be awoke later that mourning by an underlings giving her information about the new signature in the city. Yawning she got up and figured she would have to be getting ready for the meeting. It was still early but she wanted to get there early. She did have something she wanted to take care of. Getting up she took a shower and got dressed in a long black dress with long sleeves to cover her still pale skin. They didn’t know that she was weaker then she was letting on and she would use that to her advantage. She moved collecting what she need and moved back to the council hall, to mediate for the mourning so she could speak to the elder spirits. She would stay like this from most of the day.*

Shey felt a single tear fall down her cheek as she heaved a silent sob, suddenly the thought of getting revenge on the humans did not seem so important now. All she wanted was to believe deeply in his words about them being ok and everything working out, but some part deep in her knew that this would not be the case. There needed to be blood for the blood that was spilled by the humans, it was a matter of honor. Still she closed her eyes as she swallowed back the lump in her throat, then softly "I love you too." finally voicing it aloud and admitting it to herself. When they pulled into the clearing that lead up to the newly relocated pack territory, she went into his arms once they were both out of the car. "I know there are good people left in this world or else you would not be here with me. There is just so much pain going on now and I just want to hurt those who hurt me so bad." she growls as she buries her face into his chest. After a few moments for breathing deep into his comforting scent she inclines her face to his own a sudden need coming over her as she kisses his lips deeply and passionately.

Sasha was strolling along the city streets just enjoying the feel of the mortal world against her body, not really paying attention until she bumped into someone. "Excuse me...." she began when she suddenly felt his aura and the taint that was on it. When his eyes met her own she knew exactly what she had been sensing was demon taint, making her lick her lips slowly with sudden desire. Going to his arm, "Hey they honey....you don't look too good. Are you ok? Need some help?" she asked as she let a trickle of her magic leak into him stirring his desires and needs just a bit.

Forgotten Wolf 11-16-2008 06:43 PM
“Sorry…” Dherris said when he walked into someone but when his eyes swept upward to look at the person. He found his gaze wandering upon a near perfect female form before meeting her eyes and suddenly he knew his night might not be a total lost. With a quick mental flick, he glanced upon her emotional aura and was almost blinded by the lustful red coming off of her. That find confirmed one thing in Dherris mind: the night was not going to be a lose.

Going to his arm, "Hey they honey....you don't look too good. Are you ok? Need some help?" Sasha asked as she let a trickle of her magic leak into him stirring his desires and needs just a bit.

The trickle of the succubus’s magic served to stoke already smoldering desires inside the mage and it just drove him to move things along a bit faster than normal. In his own way, Dherris reached out with his magic to make the woman’s desire burn brighter. “On the contrary, I’m starting to feel better already since running into you but I don’t mind being your escort tonight. After all, this city has become a dangerous place. Is there anyplace in particular you were headed?” Dherris spoke in his charming voice as his red irises shined in the streetlight.

As she buried her face in his chest, he squeezed his eyes shut and stroked her hair comfortingly.
Way to go butthole. Why don't you tell her that Santa isn't real and that the rabbit was inside the hat the whole time? He rested his chin on her head and murmured soothingly into her ear.
Its never this hard in the stories. Boy grows up, boy finds out that everything he ever knew about anything was a lie, boy gets powers, boy fights monsters, boy meets girl....How do we get to the 'happily ever after' part? God, Gaia.......Easter Bunny...... I could use a little help if you don't mind. As her lips sought his, he gave a silent thanks to whatever had listened. He kissed her back just as intensely running a hand through her flowing auburn locks and tracing her delicate curves with the other. A fierce sting stabbed into his head and he jerked back momentarily, groaning. Jack coughed, embarrassed and annoyed.
Dammit, whatever it was its getting stronger.....maybe....maybe I should just tell her. No. That.....thing...was made with magic, and it falls to magi to get rid of it. He gave her a nervous smile and caressed the side of her face lovingly.
"Well, its up to you, but do you think you could keep your clothes on long enough to get to your place? Cuz theres some stuff in the back, and I don't feel like competing with the shifter for your.....attention..."

Sasha smiled as she felt a kindred power from within him calling to her own making her lean a bit more into him, her hands stroking up and down his chest "Well how far is your place from here?" she asked sending more of her magic into him, though something told her that it was just icing on the cake at the moment as she could sense his need almost as much as her own.

Shey felt him jerk away and groaning making her wonder if perhaps she had hurt him somehow. His smile was a nervous one and made her worry for him, though his touch and words made her smile. Leaning into him she shrugs, "Well that all depends on whether or not you can offer me more then the shift nob?" the smile on her lips teasing as she ran her hands up and down his chest feeling the muscles there making her smile broader as she leans to kiss him again. Once the kiss was over she slipped out of his arms and started toward her home, "I wonder if that body of yours is fast enough to catch me?" she calls over her shoulder before she takes off for her den, her mind welcoming the fun distraction from the current stresses of her world. Especially since the mages had left her a message on her phone wishing to have another of their infernal meetings that were pointless and led to her being ****, with nothing accomplished but wasting valuable time. Still she pushed this to the back of her mind as she ran easily through the woods with her heart will of love and some hope for perhaps a peaceful future with the man she loved.

"Well that all depends on whether or not you can offer me more then the shift nob?" Jack blinked and let a devilish grin spread over his face and a raunchy tone into his voice.

"Alright, thats it. I hope you weren't planning on walking anywhere for the next couple of hours cuz baby, your in for something now!" He hastily freed himself from the constraining seat belt and staggered past the car door to see that Shey was already halfway across the clearing.
Sooner or later, I need to buy her leash... He called up the power of Force and began muttering a rote as he started running after the woman he loved. To anyone observing, Jack was covering more ground than he should've with the odd canter he had assumed, as though he was gliding over the ground rather than running. As he chased after her he let fly several small scale spells, using them to tickle and tease as he slowly gained in the chase. When they cleared the tree line he caught up with her, dispelling the traveling spell and wrapping his arms about her they toppled to the ground, rolling and laughing in a spray of leaves and dirt that were caught in their path. Nestled beneath the intertwining boughs of towering trees, he positioned himself on top of her before leaning in and pressing his lips to hers.

"This is usually the part where I say something stupid but you laugh anyway, but I don't think I'm willing to wait that long. Are you?"

eferhilda 11-16-2008 11:43 PM
Shey had felt him running behind her, feeling the power of his gift as he used it to run faster then a normal still she did not slow her step wanting him to earn this 'prize'. Then he began cheating and she felt the magical pokes and caresses from his hands making her laugh and run even harder, when suddenly she felt his arms about her waist and they were both falling to the ground. Rolling and laughing till they came to stop with him on top of her, the heat of his body was comforting as he leaned down to kiss her.

"This is usually the part where I say something stupid but you laugh anyway, but I don't think I'm willing to wait that long. Are you?"

Smirking she looks into his eyes as she wraps her arms about his neck, "I don't know....is the shift knob back on the table of my options?" she asked with a smile before she drew him down into another kiss, this time producing a moan from her lips as she pressed against him. For some reason the fact that they were out in the open under the stars made the moment even more romantic to her, appealing to both the woman and the wolf. With only the stars as witnesses to their act of love for one another Shey felt complete and for once in her life normal. Not a werewolf, not an alpha she just felt like a woman who was in the arms of her lover who happened to be the only person that loved her for the woman and not the rank she could grant them. Jack loved her and that fact alone made her want to just run away from it all, to just turn over the pack to another and run away with him get a house some where start a family. These were all hopes and dreams that she never realized she wanted till this very moment and she wanted them with Jack and no other. As they reached that blissful moment she cried out his name to the heavens with out a care in the world other then the man who now lay panting beside her, whose arms slowly wrapped around her drawing her into his warm and comforting embrace. Then without even a second thought she closed her eyes and drifted off contently to dream of a different world, during a different time when they would be waking up in one another's arms. The only care they would have would be to make love all over again, not the current crisis in the city, nor with the mages or vampires. Just their naked bodies becoming one throughout the span of the day until once again the stars shone to witness the act all over again.

The night was still young, reaching near midnight, Enoch was prepared for the meeting that had been set. He stood before the chaffeured limo behind him, looking at the council building before him. Memnoch slid from it as well, albeit begrudingly he had come via the vehicle, Enoch had insisted they look as formal as they could, it seemed the only proper thing after all.

For the second time in a short period of time, each species of the preternatural were coming together again. His gazed turned back towards the four other SUV's, black of course, that slid from behind the limo. Groups of five immortal vampires rose out from the cars, their own respective weapons at the ready.

He turned to them, "alright, remember my bretheren, you are here to guard this place and keep a watch for any of the human's that are causing problems. You are not, and I repeat NOT allowed to at all show any disdain or aggression towards any of the other members of this meeting, no matter their species, understood?"

All of the armed guards nodded and were gone in a flash. Memnoch snorted in disgust, he had hated the idea of not having any confrontation tonight, but he kept his comments and ideas to himself.

Enoch took a deep breath, he had chosen long white and crimson attire, resembling robes for the occasion. He more than planned on telling all that attended the meeting that the guards were on post, not that those who entered wouldn't notice, more than likely they would.

He shook his head, he wished he had more than just manpower and skills that only his species could have to offer as aid in this, but with the later arrival of Romstrahd, information to be offered would have to come last.

He nodded towards Memnoch and walked within the halls, marvelling at the look of the building and from the vibrations he had felt from it itself. He smiled slightly to himself but proceeded till he spotted a mage.

Upon getting closer he realized who it was, being as he had been second in command, and for many good reasons, he knew who it was.

He gave a warm smile and a polite bow, "Lady Cutra, it is an honor. To be blunt, I must offer up that I have a handful of men around these premises to guard and watch for any of the problems for which this meeting was meant for, I hope that is not a problem?"

As Jack pulled his lips back from hers, he took in the comment about the shifter.

"Ohhh no, you don't get off that easy."
He hurriedly discarded the jacket he was wearing and nearly ripped his shirt over his head in the frenzy he felt towards the woman that lay beneath him, doing the same. He let his hands run down her form, clothed only in starlight and night air, admiring the perfection and beauty that was the object of his fierce desire. With each passing second he felt an intense heat build within him, screaming with delight and satisfaction as it burned higher and stronger. He felt Shey's body respond with the ferocity and intensity of his own and he plunged himself head first into the intoxicating and addicting presence that made up the woman he loved. He wasn't sure how long they had laid there, enraptured by uncontrollable desires and untamed instincts, pleasure both physical and spiritual intertwined and sky rocketed higher and higher until he could bear it no longer. Throwing his head back, he let a wordless moan erupt into the night sky, fusing with Shey's and creating a chorus born of passion and desire. He collapsed to her side, satisfied beyond anything he had ever known before that singular moment. Wrapping her in his arms, he nudged closer and whispered in her ear.

"And you wanted the shifter...." He ran his hands along her delicate curves, over her chest, tickling and arousingly before allowing it to drop tenderly to her nether regions. He was unsure how the physiology of a werewolf in human form compared to its human counterpart, but he was fairly certain she would be sore for a while. Pulling himself closer, he kissed her tenderly on the cheek before letting his eyes close. Though his body was tired, his mind was abuzz with thoughts and wonderings of what lay in his future. He could move away from the city, take his uncle up on his offer of running the pub after he retired, maybe go to the countryside, use the magical engineering he learned to build a house, start a family with the woman he loved. A smile came to his face as he thought of himself old and gray, rocking in a rickety old chair with Shey at his side and bright faced children racing about. Sighing contently, he pulled Shey a little closer and half murmured into her ear.
"We name the boy David...."

Brian groaned as he awoke sometime during the day and slowly pulled himself out of bed. He felt like he had barely slept… probably was the truth too but he had a job that he had giving himself to complete and he wasn’t going to forego it. He removed the Kevlar vest as well as his gun and its holster because they would be able to come with him when he steps sideways into the Shadow.

He walks heavily over to the cross that hung on the wall and looked at it for a long while. “You don’t need to do this, Brian… You’re tired take a break.” He Who Watches From The Leaves whispers to Brian from across the Gauntlet. “I’ve taken my break and I can’t stop. This city is in too much pain and danger… I need to do something.” Brian responds in tired determination as he pulls himself across the Gauntlet into the Shadow… Now little more than a festering wasteland of death and hate that was slowly expanding from the city. Not a safe place for any creature especially a werewolf…

The sun was starting to go down by the time an exhausted Takara finally returned to the church. She had been working none stop to help those on the streets and try to somehow hinder the violence… Unfortunately there was always more out there than the little she could handle. Finally though she needed to be home, away from it all, in one of the only places that felt at least somewhat safe in the entire city.

…Only the feeling of safety and hope never came. Something was wrong in the church, she could feel it and she got out her trusty pistols. “Brian?” She called out knowing that the alpha should be around the premises… but no answer came as she moved cautiously through the darkening church. It wasn’t until she got near the cross that she noticed the crumpled body if Brian on the floor. “Brian!?” Putting away one of her handguns she rushes over to find that he was still breathing. She breathed a sigh of relief as she started to turn him over to inspect him for injuries when a clawed hand grabbed her… The screams that escape that church that night would haunt the dreams of all who heard for years to come.

TFV*********************************

“Sir, we have reports of a possible class SW ENE being sighted down by an old church… correction confirmed sighting and a maximum threat level has been confirmed as well…”

“Well don’t just sit there! Dispatch a team all ready!”

“Understood sir, also we have received word from HQ. They are sending us a few more agents as well as some new gear the R&D department have perfected and ready for field testing…”

Iggy**********************

The precinct was swamped with calls and activity as the law of the city tried desperately to keep it from turning completely upside down. It wasn’t working though it seemed. Iggy was feeling the stain as well as he just stayed and was well into overtime pay now. He felt like the only thing that was keeping him going at that point was the coffee… and the determination of not wanting to let Brian down.

He was actually getting another cup of the blessed, black, caffeinated drink when he heard a call come in over the radio that stopped him dead in his tracks. There were actually two, the was about some sort of disturbance at the church (people that called in said it sounded… the couldn’t even describe it really) and the second that came in minutes later as Iggy tried to calm himself was worse… There was a report of that a fire a broken out at the church.

He didn’t wait a moment longer to rush out to his car and drive over there with lights going. He tried calling Takara and Brian on their cells but got no response. His worry grew about what might have happened and knew it had to be something really bad… They would need help. He quickly dials Shey’s number (Brian had given him and Takara the number earlier that week) but it rings… and rings… and rings until finally the voicemail picks up. “Shit! Listen Shey if you get this something has happened at the church. I can’t get a hold of Brian or Takara and there’s supposedly a fire there as well… I don’t know what is going on but I don’t think it’s something I can handle alone if Brian and Takara are in trouble all ready… bye.” He spoke quickly before hanging up and tossing the phone to the side in the car.

The car came to a screeching halt a few blocks from the church (the traffic got to thick) and Iggy was out with his gun ready as soon as it was at a complete stop. The fire and police departments hadn’t arrived yet due to the fact that they were overloaded and were trying to find the men and equipment that they could send. He ran the rest of the way to the church, seeing the smoke rising up above the surrounding buildings confirmed that a fire was burning… It was the fire though that brought Iggy to a dead stop once the front steps of the church came into view. Iggy’s gun lowered in shock and horror at what he saw. He couldn’t… believe it… “Brian!?!?” the words escaped his lips carrying with them the confused fear that was coursing through him… The sight was just too much for him to comprehend...

Shey rolled over sometime the next day, in fact the sun was on its way to sleep once more as she turns into the warmth that was the sleeping Jack beside her. Breathing deep his scent she smiled wondering if she could get him ready for a round five, though as she shifted a bit she wondered if she was really ready for another round herself. Seeing how the pack had been wise to leave their alpha alone while she spent some alone time with her mate, they had been able to enjoy one anothers company through the night and into most of the day. Even went for a nice swim in the small lake that was in their territory, that was where the third round of fun had occurred. Thinking of this the thought that laying there beside him was good enough she snuggled a bit closer kissing his chest gently when a vibrating noise coming from somewhere near her feet made her sit up slowly. Her phone had been in her pants pocket and her pants had ended up somewhere down there by their feet......she thinks, though she can not really remember for sure if that was where they were. The previous moment was fairly intense and how her clothing got taken from her body was a large blur to her which made her smile as she remembered once again just what had happened once the clothes had been removed. With the smile still on her lips she carefully slipped from Jack's warm embrace as she fumbled around looking for her jeans until finally she hit pay dirt as she fished out her phone from the back pocket. Sitting there on the grass as the night air caressed caressed her body she listened to her messages. Hearing first the one for the meeting tomorrow night at the mages hall made her snarl as she hit the delete button then continued to her next message.

“Shit! Listen Shey if you get this something has happened at the church. I can’t get a hold of Brian or Takara and there’s supposedly a fire there as well… I don’t know what is going on but I don’t think it’s something I can handle alone if Brian and Takara are in trouble all ready… bye.”

The panic and terror in Iggy's voice was not something that she was use to hearing from him, he always seemed so confidant and collected. The voice on the phone worried her especially with thoughts of her former packmates coming to harm. The alpha in her was up and pulling on her clothes as she nudged Jack rather rudely with her foot, something she regretted but promised to make up to him later right now she needed him up and moving. Once he roused she filled him in, "There is trouble at the Church with Brian's pack. I need you to come with me into the city." her voice had that authoritative tone to it that she used when speaking to her pack, something that she could not help at the moment. Once she got his response as he began to get dressed she threw back her head and howled, calling her pack arms telling them to go into the city. That there was trouble and they were needed. Once this was done she looked to Jack taking comfort and strength just from looking into his eyes, then feeling compelled she stepped to him and kissed him deeply then just stood in his arms for a moment before sighing and pulling away from him to head for his car.

As they sat in the car Shey could not shake this feeling of dread she was getting the closer they got making her somehow wish the car could go faster, yet knowing that Jack was already driving way above the speed limits. Finally they could drive no more and they had to get out of the car to run the rest of the way to the church, Shey going at top speed knowing that Jack could easily keep up. Finally she came to the scene of the Church burning and she could not believe her eyes, nor her heart as she felt so much pain and suffering coming from Gaia. It was like some last vital part of the world's soul had been ripped in two, then from the burning shadows stepped something or perhaps someone that was once a friend to her, "Brian?" she gasped.

Forgotten Wolf 11-19-2008 10:30 PM
Brian and Takara were actually outside the church, she was lying on the ground with Brian over her… Well at least what was left of Takara was lying on the ground as the large garou form of Brian feasted on the corpse. When Iggy yelled to him, Brian’s bloody muzzle snapped up and started with feral eyes at his packmate.

Brian’s mental battle was lost in that last jump into the Shadow and the dark spirits jump at the opening. Spirits of pain, death, and rage possessed the tired alpha and were now controlling his actions. He was an instrument to their sustenance and all the alpha’s consciousness could to was watch. He was suppressed and until the spirits were driven out he had now hope of gaining his body and sanity back.

With an incomprehensible howl, Brian launched himself to his two feet and snapped a ‘no parking’ sign free of the ground. Iggy brought his gun up but he hesitated at the idea of shooting his friend… The hesitation cost him. The spirit driven Brian threw the sign like a javelin and the pole speared through the cop’s chest. Being a werewolf didn’t matter as the blow was fatal anyway; the body was knocked back by the force, and Iggy’s gun clatter to the ground close to where he had been standing. The inhuman beast lumbers over to the corpse that was now fresh meat for its stomach.

Another voice reached the werewolf’s ears as it started to feed on its latest kill and he spun to see Shey standing there. His lips pulled back to bare his teeth, a threatening growl escaped his throat as blood still dripped from the muzzle. With a vicious bark, he drops to all fours and charges his friend to inflict more pain and death for which the spirits controlling him could feed on. He left the bodies of his dead packmates behind, without any seeming regard or respect for what it just did to them… it didn’t care so long as it got its blood.

Jack slept comfortably, feeling Shey's bare soft flesh beneath his hands and filling his mind with some of the stories he could tell their make-believe family about some of the things he and their mother had done in the past. He heard the dull sound of her phone, somewhere off in the forest, where it had been thrown in a frenzied rush to stand bare in front of him. As she broke his grip, he sighed and rolled over, wrapping his arms around himself in a futile effort to dispel the night's chilly grip now that the other hot body had risen. He caught bits and pieces of the panicked message but, he was too tired and too satisfied to bring his hazy mind to bear. A foot to the ribs changed that and he opened bleary eyes before shaking his head and rising slowly.

"Can't ever leave the office at the office can you?" He joked as he scrambled about, brushing the dirt and leaves that clung to his back with one hand, searching for his misplaced clothes with the other. His boxers slipped on easily , but as he tried pull his jeans on and keep moving towards his shirt, his right foot hit a solid lump and he fell hard to the ground. Grumbling he kicked his shoe out of the right leg before tightening the freshly mangled leather belt about his waist. His shirt unfortunately had a scratch across the front that matched pretty closely to nails and he sighed as he did up the buttons on his coat.
Dammit, that was my only formal shirt too...This had better be serious. Finally, with all his clothes assembled and mostly intact, he sat down in padded seat of his car, heeding Shey's wish for speed and trying not to hit anything on the bumpy road leading back into the towering metropolis. With a steady hand and a heavy foot, he drifted through turns and burned past stop signs, his free hand working the shifter and hand brake with equal parts skill and experience. Finally, the church loomed in the distance, but the road was clogged with other cares, several among them police cruisers. Looking up, he saw that Shey was already dashing at her feel speed towards the burning soon-to-be ruins. He chased after her, unwilling to use his magic in front of so many witnesses. He arrived a time after Shey had, short winded and breathing in rasping gasps.

Definitely....need...to get back to the gym.. His eyes caught sight of the grisly abomination in front of them as it proceeded to devour some poor soul impaled on a road sign. He glanced up at Shey, but she had eyes only for the terrifying spectacle ahead. She knew the creature, and as such, Jack knew that she wouldn't be able to bring herself to harm it. But he, on the other hand, had no such inhibitions. Reaching out with powerful tendrils of Force, he roughly seized a strong hold on the murderer, lifting it several feet off the ground and proceeding to try and crush it. It was stronger than most and soon greasy beads of sweat were coursing down his face with the strain to contain the beast.
Gotta focus.....or I'm next on the menu!

Shey stared for a moment in disbelief at the thing that had once been her friend, her packmate and was now no more then a slobbering monster that had destroyed the church; he had even begun to feast on his own packmates. The state of shock that Shey was in was enough to allow Brian to get the drop on her and had it not been for Jack she would most certainly been dead. Though as she watched Jack snatch Brian up from the ground, the blood thirsty fiend struggling to break free and something in her snapped. "Jack! Don't!" she shouts as she goes to his side, "Don't kill him, he is tainted possessed by evil. This is not Brian doing these things but demons from the Shadow. We have to help him.....please." she pleads with the man she loved, whom she had accepted as her mate to help her save her friend.

Sasha awoke the next morning feeling amazingly satisfied and content, looking over at the slumbering male beside her she smiled remembering the night and thinking that she must have been very lucky to have stumbled across him. Dragging a nail slowly down his chest she realized that he had so much potential hidden within himself that he had barely begun to tap into, with the right guidance and lessons he would had the makings of a fine demon. Seeing how she had no intention of leaving this world anytime soon she nominated herself to be his teacher in all the things pertaining to lust and desire. Helping him become a flawless predator that would be able to seduce any female with nothing but a few words and a winning smile.

“Here will be fine.” Ariel said as the taxi pulled up outside the entrance of the Prince's domus. Leaning over, she handed the required fare to her pale faced driver. Since having slid into the back seat an hour earlier, the driver had been stealing glances at her in the mirror when he thought she wasn't looking. She could visibly see the sense of relief that overcame the driver as they arrived at their destination, the blood draining back into his cheeks as she handed him the cash.

Ariel stepped out of the vehicle and paused for a moment. “A new city…a new beginning.” She mused to herself as she ran her hand through her hair tying it back from the gentle breeze that was blowing. Wrapping a full length shawl over her shoulders, and carrying only a single piece of luggage, she headed towards the guarded entrance of the Prince's domain.

“My name is Ari'eil Nashiram. I am new in this city and as custom dictates, I am here to present myself to the Prince.”

She paced about in the reception area, while her arrival was announced to the Prince. She knew she would have to make an concerted effort in order to make a good impression. Like many others of her bloodline, she found it hard to interact on a social level. A few of her peers told her it was a flaw of some kind that developed due to them being bred as killers. An instinct for it, so strong, others could sense it. She however believed that it was also partly due to having to avoid recognition. If making an impression could get you killed, then you would naturally avoid those situations. She thought back to what her Sire had once told her...

"Our bloodline contains grains of power sifted from the diablerized souls of countless extinct bloodlines. In essence that, which now gives us strength, also makes us weak."

She took a moment and tried to clear her mind of these thoughts, instead concentrating on the there and then. “If I am lucky, the Prince will still be able to see me tonight...”

Rowan stopped for second next to an emergency exit nearby the staircase: “This would be as good a place as any I guess.” Taking a quick look around through his mind’s eye, and finding nobody in the vicinity, he performed an initiate level spell that enabled him to see the lay of the land. Rowan preferred the subtlety of initiate spells as they drew little attention, and few, if any at all, would notice. Through his mind’s eye, he could see every sentient being in the vicinity of the Council building, and even a few from the surrounding block. He focused his mind on these persons, looking for anything out of the ordinary. He then continued up the staircase, as he could see Lady Cutra was approaching one level below and didn’t want to miss the opportunity to catch her before the meeting commenced. He was quite interested to learn if she had gathered any unusual intel on the new Prince or perhaps even the full reason behind the meeting. Females had a subtle way at getting their hands on bits of information that even the most intelligent men would struggle obtaining, and Lady Cutra was no exception. Without breaking concentration, he headed up the flight of stairs to catch her as she passed. If it wasn’t for the fact that he was skilled at multitasking, he might have had to forgo the opportunity.

Rowan exited the staircase a moment before she was about to pass by. Dressed in a pair of comfortable black pants, a dark blue collared shirt and a well tailored dinner jacket, he met up with her as she rounded the corner: “Good evening Lady Cutra, I trust you are well?” he spoke softly, so not as to startle her. He continued alongside her, hoping to gleam any information that he could, but not utterly intent on wasting the entire conversation on business.

(O.o double post.)

*Cutra jumped at the voice as she feel out of her meditation. She looked over to him and tiltd her head slighlty.* "Good Evening Rowan, Its nice to see you again...." she looked down as she unfolded her legs and smoothed out her dress. Looking down she slipped off the desk and looked over at him.* "Depends on what you think is well. But I am okay for the most part, and yourself?" *She looked over at him her eyes cold, as usualy she felt betrayed by dherris she should have know better.*

Jack channeled all of his energies, all of his focus into the all out magical assault on the beast, planning to collapse it in on itself using the extreme force of his spell. But, it was strong and resisted the magic with extreme force, not gaining any ground but not losing any either. He felt the odd tunnel vision suffered by a mage who was channeling too much into or at one target but he didn't care, all he knew was that the thing was a very real threat to he and Shey and to him, that was all that mattered. He felt the beast begin to cave beneath the constant, crippling force that was magic. He renewed his assault and felt the monster's defenses drop substantially, and he knew that it was only a matter of time at that point until the creature was nothing more than a bloody clump of flesh and fur. A sudden pleading voice at his side ripped him away, and as the tunnel vision faded he heard Shey's plea for her friend and the request to spare the beast's life. He froze, not knowing how to act and unable to fully think through the consequences of either choice. Whatever he had snared in his magical death trap was obviously a creature of intense and indisputable evil, but she spoke of it as her friend and he could hear the desperation in her voice. Reluctantly, he released the strong bonds of magic but he forgot to account for how much and how directly he had been channeling the cable thick weaves of Force. One tendril shot off to the side, crashing into the street and sending chunks of concrete flying, another smashed through a tiny street kiosk and uprooted a fire hydrant, filling the air with tattered newspapers, snacks and water. The third and by far the most powerful shot backwards, towards Jack and Shey and he saw the mammoth strike coming. He shoved Shey aside and threw up the best defense he could before a gigantic hammer smashed into him, shooting him through the air and into a nearby apartment building, the thin shield of protective magic leaving an almost exact imprint of his body in the brick wall. He hurtled to the ground, slamming squarely into the concrete.

"No worries......my neck broke my fall......I think I'm just going to....lie down a while....See what you can do about.....shaggy over there....." He groaned and tried to push himself up into a sitting position, but his body wracked with agony and he sagged back to the ground.
That was......excruciating....Well at least if I made the wrong decision, I won't be around long enough to regret it....

Shey was about to shift when Jack pushed her out of the way of something that she could not see but feel, the air being moved with such force as her beloved Jack went sailing through the air to impact very hard with a brick wall. The need to run to him was great, but the innocent people who were at danger from the crazed beast that was beginning to recover from being crushed by Jack. Her eyes glowing bright as she sent a silent prayer to Gaia to watch over Jack and keep him safe till she could be at his side once again. Throwing back her head she howls as the change takes over her and she is soon standing before Brian in her large Wereform, the muscles rippling beneath her thick rich auburn fur as she snarls brandishing her claws at him. Without wasting another moment she launches at him.

The creature that was Brian fell to the ground quickly drawing in snarling breaths as its eyes locked onto the nearest target. Shey launched her self at him but clouded by rage and driven by spirits the huge wolf-humanoid was able to push the pain to the far side of his mind. It swipes one of its large claws upward in a deadly version of and uppercut to attempt to catch the throat and/or jaw of the midair Shey.

Shey drew a forearm up to block the vicious attack, howling in pain as his claws dug deep into her flesh. Still she impacted with him using her increased weight and momentum to drive him to the ground, her claws at his shoulder as she struggled to hold him down. She did not want to kill her friend and wanted to try and save him; still she was not going to let him kill her either.

Brian yelped and growled angrily as he was suddenly knocked to the ground. He struggled and barked in rage for a little a moment before it finally found something it could really do… Turning his head suddenly he sank his teeth into the forearm of one of the arms she was using to pin him with. He started lashing out with his claws as best as he could too to try and rip her throat out.

Shey jerked her head out of the way from his onslaught of claws, her human mind slowly losing any grip as the beast within began to fight to survive. As his jaws clamped down harder on her forearm she snarls her head thrusting forward to bite down into the now exposed neck and shoulder area.

Another growl exited his throat as she bit into him and his bite just grew stronger putting more strain of the bones in that portion of the arm. With her so close now, his claws came back up to grab her throat and start tightening possibly to either crush her windpipe or snap her neck under the force. While the sharp nails made shallow punctures into the flesh under the fur as the grip was initially made.

Like a rabid dog Shey bit down harder into his flesh despite the pain from his jaws and claws about her throat. Her claws dragged down his body before thrusting into ribs, hopes of puncturing a lung or something else that would weaken him enough to force him to change back.

It was then that his jaw finally loosened as a howl of pain escaped him from the claws running down his body. The intention of killing switched briefly to trying to get the ****ing off of him. His claws shifted position to try and grab her upper and lower jaw to loosen her bite and then use his arms and legs to toss her away.

Shey struggled to keep her grip resorting to now shaking her head vigorously as she meant to tear a big chunk of flesh from his shoulder. Her claws moving back to his arms now, digging deep trying to keep him from opening her jaws.

Another howl of pain exits Brian as she tears the flesh of his shoulder. And then she was moving to immobilize his arms and prevent him from opening her jaw. With unable to fully move his arms as he would like, Brian did the next best thing and tightened his grip on her jaw. Inside of him, the spirits started to worry about losing their tool for sustenance and started contemplating other options…

Her vision had clouded over with red as she shook her head again, feeling the tearing of his flesh. His hands on her jaws prevented her from shaking her head too much but still she would not release her hold on him. The human now in almost as much a rage as the beast wanting to force him to bow before her stronger form, to submit to her alpha authority.

After that last shake, there was barely any usable muscle left and one arm lost a good portion of its strength in trying to resist the force from her arm. If he was consciously able to focus his regenerative powers, he would have been able to do something about it but now his arm lost its shoulder strength and movement. Blood was pouring from the wound and pooling on the pavement beneath them. He was growing weak from the blood loss and the spirits knew that they couldn’t win with this toy anymore… They would have to find a new vessel to continue… Luckily one lay nearby and so they flooded out of Brian…… Lunging to invisibly enter the barely conscious mage… They wouldn’t be able to control this one like Brian both because of the stronger mental state and lack of bestial side but at least they could influence him to try to accomplish their goals… With the spirits gone, Brian’s struggles lessened and weakened quickly without the drive of the spirits pushing him forward. Soon he stopped entirely, falling limp as his body started to shift back, and he struggled to maintain consciousness from blood loss.

Shey released Brian the moment he stopped struggling, reigning in her beastly rage as she sat back on her haunches looking down at him as he shifted to his human form. Slowly she matched him and returned to her human form chest heaving from exhaustion and the after effect of the adrenaline in her system. As her wounds slowly healed themselves she pulled out her phone she called in her pack, needing them to get Brian and treat his wounds as well as give Iggy a proper burial. While she waited for them to arrive she tore of a section of her shirt to bandage his wound to at least slow the bleeding, "You're going to be ok Brian." she said to him gently before moving to check on her mate.

Getting to Jack's side she knelt down checking him, even she could tell he was hurt pretty bad. "Jack baby, I'm here I'm here now. I'm so sorry for having you come with me, you should have stayed back in the woods or gone to your apartment." she sobbed softly realizing just how much it hurt her to see him in such a state. "Please be ok..." she prayed to the spirits to watch over him as she waited for her pack to arrive or even an ambulance whose sirens she could hear faintly in the distance.

"I'm fine Lady Cutra, just fine thank you for asking." he said with the faintest of smiles. His green eyes studying hers for a moment before continuing: "Since I have already disturbed your meditation, would you mind walking with me?"

Motioning for her to lead the way, he walked along side her staring at the ground before him. A frown formed on his forehead as he contemplated his words: "I was eager to inquire whether you may have discerned any fresh details relating to the new Prince or perhaps any reasons behind this meeting. Boasting two Princes in a such a short time is surely not unheard of, but it’s also not something that occurs very often either.”

Crossing his arms, he continued, this time looking directly into her eyes as he spoke: “The instability that has occurred over the past few months is not beneficial and may soon even attract unwanted attention. Violence between the Vampires and Werewolves will only escalate unless strong leaders can secure their positions and control their subordinates. I don’t have the benefit of seeing the future, but if this new Prince cannot bring about that control, and I sincerely hope he can; then I believe the possibility of a hard line approach should be discussed.”

{ok, seems like it all got switched around...*shrug*}

Memnoch swept through the hallways of the compound, the elaborate marble designs and hanging chandiliers seemed a bit much to him, but seemed oh so fitting considering the previous Prince. The other vampires that crossed his path created a wide berth for him to walk through, it seemed to him that the fear of his name was well spread, no matter.

Strolling up the stairs, twisting and turning through more hallways he reached the reception area. A new scent flooded his senses as he walked, his gaze turned towards the Vampire that seemed to be nervously pacing the reception area. His gaze narrowed as he watched the woman, but continued on, opening the doors to the "throne room."

"Enoch," he drawled out, "you realize you have someone waiting for you?"

***************************

Enoch glanced up at the entering vampire and sighed, he wondered when he was going to finally show his face since he disappeared the night before.

He nodded, "I'm quite aware as a matter of fact I was about to let her in, God knows what she wants right now, but we're about to find out."

He knew they didn't have a whole lot of time, but he was going to see what the newcomer wanted. Leaning forward he pushed the intercom button, "Sean, let our guest in please."

*Cutra looked over at Rowan and stood up streaching as she looked over him. Her feelings were mixed about Dherris, feeling betrayal that he had just left her with out saying good bye. She knew full that Dherris wasn't the one to stay with one person just over a random fling. She could you say be a one night stand. She wasn't expecting to see the man again.*

*She sighed heavily, and nodded.* "I'm glad that your doing well Rowan. It has been a long time since we have last spoken or seen one another." *She leaned on the table to gain her balance again. She closed her eyes and gave out a deep held breath. Looking she nodded slightly at Rowans request.*

"Aye, I will walk with you Rowan, since you did indeed intruppet my meditation." *She pushed off the table and stood up and shuddered soflty, having a bad feeling. Maybe calling this meeting was a mistake, what if somethig happened like it had before. Looking over at him she took what he had said into deep consideration.*

"I belive what you said is right but the council can do so much. And it seem that secret society knows to much about the supernaturals, and the mages. We need to band together, and help each other not fight amoung each other. This only leads to more bloodshed and death." *Cutra walked forward and spoke again lowly this time heading for the doors needing fresh air the confrence through her meditation had not go will with the elders of the ghostly mages. Shaking her head at him slightly.* "I do not know what this new prince may boast or may do, I have yet to meet him. So I have yet to observe what he may bring. Seeing that the old prince only cuased decit and more fights. Maybe he is what is truely here to end the war between the werewolves and the vampires. My concren is the werewolves rampages on the humans, its getting out of control they want revenge. The question remains if they will attack the mages, considering we are human as well." *She left him to ponder over what she had posed, and wondered of his opion she waited as she left the building and took a breath of fresh air, and shook her head trying to get the smell of Dherris and his image out of her head. Why was it so hard for her to push him away like she had did so many others.*

Ariel got the feeling that someone was watching her and cut her gait mid stride to turn and face the onlooker. Turning she caught only a glimpse of a very powerful looking vampire entering the Prince’s ‘throne room’. It wasn’t his large bulky shoulders, or even his forceful demeanor that gave her the impression he was powerful, not that that in itself didn’t speak volumes. No… it was the feeling she got deep within herself as she laid eyes on him. The beast within her began to stir, aroused by a beast more powerful than her own. The sensation would have ordinarily made her pulse rush, if she had one. Even so, she could feel her blood begin to boil, the Beast’s need to satisfy its lust for destruction. She smiled to herself. “Just how strong you are big boy…”

This wasn’t her scene, and socializing certainly wasn’t what she had been trained to do. But seeing someone who she could not yet best, gave her a feeling of defiance, the strength she needed to regain control of the Beast. She thought back to something her Sire had told her: “The Beast is power. You can control it, but you cannot contain it.”

She almost laughed out loud when she realized that for the second time that evening she had dwelled on the past: “I never knew I was so sentimental…”
An underling approached her: “The Prince will see you now."
She smiled: “Thank you.”

Leaving her suitcase where it was, she entered the Prince’s “throne room”.
Bowing her head and eye's downward, she recited what she had been practicing while pacing the last few minutes: “Good evening Prince Enoch. I am Ari'eil Nashiram. I seek permission to remain in your city. And I wish to make it home.”

She looked up for a moment, to see if the message had been delivered effectively, and once again she felt the Beast begin to writhe.

braioch8201 11-26-2008 04:57 PM
"Memnoch, keep yourself in check..." Enoch murmured as the woman walked into the room, Memnoch only gave a half shrug and turned towards the window, gazing out it.

Enoch's brow perked up as the woman stood before them.

“Good evening Prince Enoch. I am Ari'eil Nashiram. I seek permission to remain in your city. And I wish to make it home.”

Enoch's eyebrows threatened to shoot upwards but they didn't as he listened to the rehearsed sounding line. He sat back in his chair, his hands close together, fingertips touching each other.

He sighed finally, it seemed that this new rush of vampires into the city was proving to be neverending. Whether or not it would prove to be auspicious had yet to be shown, he'd yet to hear from Romstrahd as it was.

"Your request comes at a...turbulent time. If I were to consider your request there would be a few...requirements. First not only do I need to know why you left wherever you came from, but why you chose this place. Second I will need to have your undying devotion to my lead, and will acknowledge it as such as obeying whatever I lay down as law. Finally you are obliged to know that you have come in at a time when the city is besieged by chaos, so take that into your considerations..."

Memnoch snorted to himself, he didn't understand why Enoch was dealing with all of these inane and asinine things. Plus Memnoch could sense the bloodlust pouring from the girl, and it had him intrigued, perhaps she mihgt have a us after all.

Brian laid there on the ground in a haze trying to focus. He only barely heard Shey’s voice but the tightening of the makeshift bandage on his shoulder broke through the haze. The bandage gave him something to focus on and soon his shoulder started to fix itself. A few moments longer and he could sit up though a bit light headed and dizzy still. He attempted to stand but promptly fell back to his knees.

There was heat… coming from somewhere, and as he looked to see the source his face fell in terror. The church was on fire but how he couldn’t remember and as his eyes searched for answers they produce more anguish. He saw what was left of Takara’s body lying in the middle of the street, and as the memories started flooding in he was able to slide his gaze to Iggy’s body as well before completely losing it. He doubled over and started heaving as his body started trying to expel the flesh of his friends from him. Tears streamed down his face in pain, sadness, and despair as his stomach continued to empty itself until there was nothing but bile left.

He wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, tears still coming from his eyes, and looks over at Shey tending to her injured mate. He could still barely make out some of the now faint bruises around her jaw and neck where he had tried to kill her. Even her mate was hurt because of him.

He crawls over to where Iggy had once stood moments earlier, gazing around at the blood, the bodies, the burning church, and now he could even see innocents cowering or running in terror of what they just saw… The Wound was just growing stronger. He picks up Iggy’s gun; he needed to do something…

He had failed… failed his pack… failed the city and its people… failed his friends… No, he had done worse than fail… He destroyed everything he was fighting for… and it could happen again… he wouldn’t be strong enough to fight the influence of the Wound again. The gun came up. “I’m sorry…” He said quietly. A shot rang out and echoed through the city louder than any before it. Everyone who heard it shuddered as they somehow instinctively knew something horrible had happened. The gun clattered to the ground with the body of the man once known as Brian… One of Solace’s last true protectors was dead……… and the Wound grew with new found fervor.

TFV****************

”Sir, we can’t get close… The police and fire departments are starting to show… To get involved would expose our existence.”

“Understood… What can you gives us over here?”

”We have one S-type ENE and one A-type ENE… If there are any others… then they are dead now….. It appears like a fight happened.”

“Keep covert observations on those two… They might lead us to some answers.”

”Understood, sir.”

Dherris************************************

Dherris woke up alone in early evening, not realizing he had slept that long… Though from what he could remember of the night before he wasn’t entirely surprised. The word ‘inhibitions’ seemed to completely disappear from existence with that girl. With some effort, he finally is able to get himself out of the bed and make his sore self over to the bathroom to relieve himself and shower.

Emerging, he caught his reflection in the mirror and noticed his new eye color was back. He wondered if the woman he had been with last night had noticed them… but even if she did she didn’t seem to care too much about his eye color. With a little magical effort, Dherris returned his eyes to their former brown color temporarily knowing again that the magic would last only 4-6 hours. Satisfied with the renewed disguise, Dherris gets dressed and prepares to return to the Council Hall.

He found it odd that Cutra hadn’t tried to call him and it made him worry a little as he closed in on the building. He spotted Cutra as she exited and smiled as he walked over. “Cutra, I’m hurt that you didn’t call me. I hope I’m not too late to assist you with anything you need before the mee….. ting.” Dherris’s stuttered at the end as he noticed the Mastigos archmage leave the building and make his way towards them. Dherris felt a lump form in his throat as he was now face to face with one of the four archmages that had placed his sentence of exile upon him… He looked to Cutra for support cause if she had changed her mind about having him work under her… then he was completely screwed.

Ladypuppet 11-26-2008 08:19 PM
*Cutra looked up and saw Dherris, and sighed soflty as she looked up her eyes swirled to life slightly as she gave a faint smile.* "Dherris dear, I'm suprised to see you came back. I didn't call becuase I was in meditations talking to the ghostly, council." * She looked over at Rowan wondering what he may do seeing that Dherris was here. If he so much as tryed to hurt Dherris she would attack even if it ment taking all her energy she wasn't about ready to let somebody take away the one person she cared for. Looking she walked over to him and lighlty opened her arms as in asking for a hug, she forced a smile slightly looking down. Having seeing him brought up all the emotions she thought that she had pushed behind her.* "I'm glad to see you once more." *The tears strated to form around her eyes. Cutra still supported him.* "And yes Dherris I still want you to help." *She smiled fully as she moved in and hugged him anyway, weather her wanted it or not.*

Forgotten Wolf 11-26-2008 09:17 PM
Dherris’ attention was distracted a bit by Rowan’s presence but when Cutra hugged him he relaxed and hugged her back. “I’m glad to see you too.” He says softly to her before changing to a teasing whisper for only her to hear. “And of course I came back… You still owe me a dance after all.” He moved back slightly to actually be able to look at her, “So, what do you need me to do milady?” He said this loud enough that Rowan might be able to hear and a small smile was etched on his face as he looked at her. Rowan though sill unnerved him, not only because he was one of the members that voted him out but also he was a Mastigos. If there was ever a type of mage not to trust it was the Mastigos because they were masters of secrets… Both hiding them and finding them…

Ladypuppet 11-26-2008 09:23 PM
*Cutra smiled soflty and looked up at him she was the head council mage after all she doubted Rowan would be stupid enough to try and attack her, even more so since they were in public. she looked and giggeld soflty as his breath taunted her ear and looked up at him.* "Nothing gets past you does it Dherris?" *She played back and giggled again she could tell that Rowan was putting Dherris on edge and she didn't like the fact that he was. She looked fully aware that Rowan was one of the council that hadn't like Dherris and had kicked him off the council after much protest from herself. But the event that her and Dherris had encountered early had still troubled her dearly and she wasn't sure what was going to come of it. Something had to be connected to it, but what? She pondered this before Dherris words brought her back to the present. Leaning up Cutra whispered in his ear.* "I need at least one person I know and trust to be by my side, and your just the person." *She spoke to him soflty and smiled.*

Okay.....deep breath......deep breath.....Can you wiggle your toes?......Yeah....so maybe when whatever the hell that thing is gets around to tearing my throat out, I can flail a little bit. A slight chuckle escaped his lips before he groaned and curled a little tighter. His body was wracked with pain and his muscles refused to respond to whatever he told it to do. Jack inhaled sharply, dragging in the cool oxygen in short, rasping gasps. He could hear the sounds of intense fighting in the distance and sharp yelps and snarls that were Shey's and the other's permeated the air. He willed his battered body to rise, but no matter how he tried he stayed rooted to the ground. Tired and dejected, he let his body sag back to the cracked concrete, trying in vain to twitch aching limbs into some semblance of comfort. He let his head slip back to rest haphazardly on the pavement as glazed eyes flickered up and down the street, taking in fleeing pedestrians and flashing lights with half-interest. He began drifting off, into an odd creeping darkness that had intruded on the edge of his vision and was now threatening to claim him, when a sudden cold grip locked his mind in an icy choke. He struggled in silence for several seconds until the feeling passed. It left him shaken and scared, having never experienced anything of the sort before. He turned his hazy, cluttered mind towards figuring out what the hell had just happened to him when he felt Shey's hands on his face and the worried words coming from her. He laughed before coughing and shifting his gaze to rest on her.

"Wait...wait...before we get started on me.....is the building O.K.? I...I think I hit somebodies patio and.....it looked kind of expensive....." He gave another weak laugh before a sharp crack pierced the air followed by the clatter of metal on concrete and a dull thud.
Something tells me that wasn't a car backfiring......

As Rowan was still concentrating on the spell he had cast prior to meeting up with Lady Cutra, and having moved to the front of the building, his area of affect had changed. He sensed Dherris before he actually laid eyes on him. But more importantly he also sensed a few others in the area, the most critical being the Prince, who's arrival was only a few blocks away. He dismantled the spell in his mind before exiting the building and applied one of his attainments – the ’subtle dance’ as his peers had named it. Since he wasn't doing any magic, sleepers and mages would not notice anything auspicious, like a glowing aura or even having his nimbus being revealed, something he tried to avoid whenever possible. His attainment allowed him the benefit of manipulating the minds of those around him, so that they would only see him as someone they would expect to see. To those on the street, he would simply appear as a passer by, a guy delivering a message or just another nobody. To Dherris and Cutra however, he still appeared as Rowan, the Arch-Mage of the Mastigos. Another benefit, and one he indeed prized himself at having mastered, was the ability to detect subtle changes in fate, such as whether someone was telling the truth, or even reading unconscious behavior. This allowed him to sense small changes in things and people around him that others might miss or mistake for the ordinary.

Rowan walked towards Dherris and Lady Cutra, and a smile appeared on his face as he saw Dherris standing in front of him. A momentary glimmer of dread – or possibly frustration - showed for on Dherris's face for not even a second before he was in complete control once more. Lady Cutra seemed fiercely besotted with him, yet having said that, she was a women and Dherris was a life mage after all. The benefits of which anyone could see, Dherris had made full use of. If one’s body was a temple, Dherris’s was a cathedral and even Xavier's battle hardened body had nothing on him. Rowan wondered if the feeling of ‘love’ Lady Cutra was feeling had been 'induced', but he couldn't sense any residual magic effects on her. For now he accepted their little Romeo and Juliet dramatic piece, and smirked as he pondered if it would end the same way.

“Please follow me.” He stated calmly and softly as he returned to the protection of the Council building. Once inside the confines of the building, Rowan knew that wards had put in place which would prevent any prying eyes and ears from learning anything that was said on the inside of its walls. Something himself and Xavier had deemed necessary since the last meeting had gone so horribly wrong. Even listening devices would stop functioning and once in the meeting chamber, even magic would almost cease to work. Turning to Dherris, Rowan gauged the mage for a moment.

“Good evening Dherris. I see your bravery knows no bounds. Having almost killed the last Prince, you show up moments before the new Prince is to arrive. Far be it for me to tell you what to do, but may I suggest you find some place to remain until this meeting has adjourned. Since you have blatantly defied the council, I am going to ask the council to convene afterwords to discuss your future in this city once again, with the hope in finding some middle ground. Perhaps your luck will change and a new outcome will be decided. Unless you of course have any objections to this that is…?”

Nebb 11-27-2008 07:49 AM
“Prince Enoch, my Sire has taken the 'long rest' and I have served the Ordo Dracul for 10 years since. I have completed every task they have given me and, on request, I have been given leave to follow whatever path I deem necessary, until my Sire awakens."

"Turbulence, war, struggle. These are my reasons for being here. News of this city has reached many a dark corner throughout the world. The stories tell of a constant clash between humans, lycans, mages, and vampires. There was one story however that did stand out more so than any before…the destruction of Elysium… and the countless killed by a new threat. This is also a reason for my being here.”

A hunter of hunters, a killer of killers. Dragonslayers were embraced with one goal in mind. To take down the most powerful vampire of it’s time. Dracula. Even though Ariel never put too much value into emotion, she felt it wrong that a predator be killed by its prey. And when so many predators perish by the hands of so few prey, then it disturbs the natural balance of things. It was so much more fitting for a predator to die by the hands of another predator.

“As for why I am here. I am Azerkatil.” Her inhumanly green eyes staring up at him as if he should know the deeper meaning behind her words.

“You have my word that I will follow and I will obey until the day I leave your city. And if you so wish, I’d like to request to serve you directly until that day.” As she finished these words, she felt the Beast within her subdued. Whether it was her desire for servitude, her need to protect a master, or lust for an enemy to destroy, she felt it was the right way forward and her Beast felt the same. Perhaps it knew something she didn't...

*Cutra looked over at the man of Rowan and hissed at him through clentched teeth and held onto Dherris arm as the slowly leaned on him and closed her eyes beforeing opening the nice and loving Cutra Rowan had just witness was gone and a more dark cutra replaced it. Walking back into the room she could faintly feel remants of magic use and looked she then stood protectivly infrom of Dherris. Her eyes stared deeply into Rowan almost boring into them.*

*Growling out of pure rage.* "You know just becuase I'm an utter ****ing to somepeople doesn't mean that I don't have a heart and it sure as hells means that I can still love one." *She stated as she looked his feet sinking into the floor and being held ther and some vines spourt and held the man's hand in place she wasn't going to take an chance.* "Rowan he not stupid I was the only what that didn't want him to leave the council and your to F***ing stubborn to change you mind." *She hissed out the vines cutting of the circluation to his hand.* "He is hear because he is my new understudy, like it or not he is staying and there will be no second council meeting about weather Dherris stays." *Raise a brow she waited for the man to object.*

Nebb 11-27-2008 12:05 PM
Rowan didn’t need to use magic to see the change in Cutra’s psyche. She wasn’t acting herself, emotionally she was taking strain and what’s more, she wasn’t behaving as one as with the responsibility of being a Council member should.

Rowan knew Cutra could lose her position on the council if any mage decided to press the issue of her aiding or embedding an exiled mage. On that premise alone she should have displayed more control.

Attacking a council member within the confines of the council halls… requesting the cooperation of an exiled mage that was known to have gone against Council wishes, hers included, not once, but twice.
Attacking and almost killing the Prince at meeting at which the visitors safety should have been assured, and disrupting the only chance they had at resolving Solace’s blatant problems.

The situation could have be far worse, and from Rowan's perspective, she was getting off lightly. But it didn’t seem as if she cared. She didn’t seem to have a grasp on things, or if she did, it seemed to be only just. He could change that of course, but he would not directly assault a council member unless the council decided otherwise. She had earned that right from Rowan's perspective. However, if her erratic behavior did not stop, he could possibly be forced to defend himself. And unlike most mages however, Rowan only rarely used his magic on other mages, and when he did, it was as a final resort and rarely with good consequence. He felt a touch of anger flair up. How could they not see he was trying to help?

“Cutra, if you truly feel love towards Dherris, then you must know that this is NOT the way to convince us. Do you really think you can get your way by attacking and killing all the mages who don't agree with you? Wipe away your blind hatred and see clearly that my intentions are not ill intended. I am not your enemy.”

Tied up as he was, Rowan gave Dherris a cold calculating look, which spoke volumes of what he was capable of should the need arise. He then looked back at Cutra waiting either of them to respond.

Ladypuppet 11-27-2008 12:17 PM
*Cutra looked at him, maybe she wasn't acting herslef she wasn't going to lost another person she cared about. Her Mind swriled around as she shook her head trying to clear it her hands went and sliped through her hair she fell to her knees as she felt the tears slip from her eyes and down her cheek shaking soflty. She closed her eyes and whimmpered to herslef. Had she truely lost who she was all over this man, this exiled mage? Would he be the end of her?*

*Cutra had not attacked the mage, she had only made it so that he could not attack her or Dherris, she wasn't going to let another fight happen in her council hall. She wasn't excatly ebbeding the man, she had took him under her wing, if he went anywhere he couldn't work after his repuataion being trashed, he had no were else to go. She keep her eyes tightly closed and shivvered scream out of frustration, tense and pain. A pain that peirced her heart on that she had never felt before. What had happened to her. It all started after the night she fainted she seemed off, but why? *

*Soon the vines released him as well as the floor her mana faded and retruned her swirling around her make a visiable black orb around her. She couldn't find herself, she couldn't clear her mind, it was almost as if she had changed into a new person. She spoke in a softy raspy voice a wishper.* "I don't want to lose, I don't want to hurt." *She spoke out not making much of any sense, she was fine untill Dherris came and then its like she completly changed. What controled did this man have over her.(Not literaly.) * "Yet you voted him off with no remores, no caring, I know your not an enemy." *She looked she riased her hand and grabbed the clothing above her heart feeling it hurt with every heartbeat. She was having another mental break down. She looked feeling weak and pathic and arch-mage reduced to this, a sob blob on the floor, shivvering again. Her tears it the floor making softly plattering sounds trying to regain her composer*

Shey was smiling down at Jack as he answered her in that humorous way of his, "Don't worry about all of that you need to save your strength." she spoke softly to him as tears of relief filled her eyes. A movement to the side of her where she had left Brian to tend to Jack made her turn tensing in preparation for another fight that she would probably not be able to survive. Though as she saw Brian sit up and move about under his own power she smiles as she relaxes, glad to see him moving on his own. As he proceeded to empty his stomach she was torn between comforting him and staying at Jack's side, deciding in the end to stay with Jack though she kept an eye on Brian as he moved closer. "We are going to get you an ambulance to the hospital and before you know it you will be chasing me in the woods once more." she says talking to Jack mostly to calm and comfort herself then him, giving herself something to focus on other then the pain she could feel coming from him.

Brian was closer now as she turned to look at him once more, only her eyes opened wide in shock as she saw him holding a gun now.....

The gun came up. “I’m sorry…” He said quietly. A shot rang out and echoed through the city louder than any before it.

"No...no....no...no." she began to mutter over and over again as she ran to him her mind not registering what had just happened. Getting to his body she fell to her knees her eyes telling her it was too late but her mind being unable to accept it. "No....Brian......Brian.....Get up Brian....Brian...." her hands reached out and touched his shoulder, making his head roll to the side his lifeless eyes staring up at her. "NOOOOOOO!!!!" she cried out, the pain and anguish in her scream turning into a howl as she fell over his body pulling him to her, her mind having gone somewhere else as it tried to deal with the shock and mental anguish. Just as she was in the process of shaking his corpse to try and make him breath again her pack arrived materializing from the shadows. They stood there around her in a small circle unsure of what to do as they gazed upon their usually strong and seemly unshakable alpha an utter mess over the body of Brian. That moment of uncertainty was about to cause the pack to break apart as they were already teetering with the uncertainty of their future. Ethon, Shey's second in command stepped up as he felt the bonds of the pack begin to loosed. "Bear pick up Sheyera and take her to her apartment, she needs a moment to collect herself." A large brown skinned man with a bald head and a hard look in his surprising light brown eyes, nodded as he stepped forward and picked up the sobbing alpha cradling her in his massive arms like she was nothing but a child. As the man turned to leave Ethon laid a hand on his shoulder, "Make sure you are not followed. All of this destruction and chaos is liable to draw some unwanted attention." Bear nodded and continued walking away, Shey now mumbling over and over again something about she how she had saved him and he could not be dead.

Ethon turned his green eyes back to the scene at hand, "Lexy and Ira take care of the bodies. Ensure you gather all of them leaving no evidence and take them back to the forest for proper burial." A young man and woman stepped forward with matching blue eye and sandy blond hair, seeming to be twins. The pair went to work doing as Ethon ordered though it was a hard job to collect the dead bodies of former packmates and friends, still the did as he told without complaints. Looking to the rest of the pack, "Spread out and check the area. I want all survailence equipment is located and destroyed, we need to do some damage control with this one." they nodded and disappeared to do as he asked.

Sighing as he covers his face with his hands, exhaling a deep breath before he went over to Jack's body. He did not particularly like Jack thinking that he was not good enough for Shey, still he would not leave the man here to suffer and die from his wounds. If for nothing else then for his own love for Shey, he squats down beside the broken man and sighs "Well it looks like I'm going to be your escort to the hospital while Shey is away getting herself together." he offered a weak smile before he stood pulling out his cell phone he called 911 asking for an ambulance immediately, because a man got caught in the explosion at the church and was through into a building. By the time the ambulance arrived, the pack had done their work and were gone back safely hidden in the woods once more. When asked his relation to Jack as they raced away to the hospital Ethon smiled softly, "He is my brother in-law." is all he says as he sits in the back of he ambulance with the EMT's as they stabilized Jack and raced him to the emergency room of the hospital, though they were all optomistic that he was going to recover it was just going to take sometime. Later Ethon stood in the wind of Jack's hospital room looking out over the city as he listened to the steady beeping of the monitors, wondering if he was witnessing the beginning of a hell on earth.

Dherris stood stunned at Cutra’s suddenly and almost violent reaction to Rowan. The way he looked at Dherris for a second made Dherris nervous at what he might be planning. He knew a mage of his caliber could easily rewrite a person’s mind, personality…. Everything that made up the person. Dherris couldn’t only produce a moderate mental shield (he was unusually strong in Mind magic for a Thyrsus mage) to protect himself and others but the archmage could easily batter through it.

Cutra’s breakdown startled him even more and at first he thought Rowan had retaliated against her with some mental attack, but Dherris saw no such thing with his Mind magic to suggest that. Now it was Dherris’ turn to step up and hug her whether she wanted it or not. He didn’t have anything to say… He wasn’t sure there was anything really that could be said. So instead he was her shoulder or chest to cry on and a solid anchor for he to clinging to as she tried to pull herself together. Dherris wasn’t paying attention to Rowan anymore, his concern completely directed to Cutra at that very moment.

Ladypuppet 11-27-2008 09:30 PM
*Cutra looked and clinged to his shirt her head was in the crook of his neck as her body gave another volient shudder. Almost like she was cold even freezing but the room was filled with a comfortable warmth. She felt Dherris warm his arms around her, she felt safe, and content like nothing to harm her. She whimmpered soflty to herself as she looked up at him and tilted her head up her face red and tear stained the tears had stopped but the pain still remain deep in her heart she had no clue why it had suddenly flared up like flames burning and licking at the soles of ones feet.* "Dherris, Thank you." *She whispered out to him she could only think what Rowan though of her now.*

Nebb 11-29-2008 12:25 AM
Rowan for one of the few times in his life was speechless. He half expected Dherris to intervene a lot sooner, but seeing Lady Cutra break down in front of him did send a wave of emotion through him. He was not very comfortable displaying emotion, and when you had to guard your secrets as close to you as the Mastigos do, then displaying them was assuredly a sign of weakness. Lady Cutra, however, had a lot on her mind it seemed, so Rowan forgave her the outburst. As much as emotion tugged at his heart, the Prince was about to arrive, and they didn’t have the convenience of having this conversation.

“Lady Cutra, Dherris. The next move is yours.” He said softly, his voice just above a whisper. “My only concern right now is the Prince’s reaction to seeing you Dherris. My offer still stands, however, if you wish to accept it.”
Rowan turned to leave. He needed to find Xavier and ensure that the protection wards had been cast to prevent anything similar to that which occurred at the Elysium. Also he wanted escape routes determined beforehand. He had very little information to go on regarding the new threat, and he already had his contacts working on it. They have until now however, uncovered very little…

Enoch smirked inwardly at the woman's speech, he turned his gaze slightly towards the restless Memnoch.

Memnoch turned with a dark smile on his face, "Is that so?" he spoke, his voice drawing out like silk.

Enoch's eyes widened slightly, he knew that tone all too well, "Memnoch..."

Memnoch waved half-heartedly at him in dismissal, "no, if she wishes to serve than she needs to prove herself worthy of being able to fight in your name Enoch."

Enoch sighed, at this point he knew there was no arguing with the "man," he apparently had been starved of a fight for too long, but this was not the time nor the place for such behavior.

"Memnoch, I cannot-"

Before he could even finish the sentence Memnoch was off in a flash, his claws raised, slashing towards her with fierce strength.

The scene passed through hazy unsure eyes as Jack let his head roll back and let the heavy lids positioned above those eyes droop shut. He heard voices, felt touches, but they were all distant and insubstantial, trapped behind the screen of pain and anesthesia that kept him firmly trapped in a half state of sleep and awake. He thought he heard Shey's voice at one point and he called out for her weakly but there was no response. After an eternity, Jack could no longer fight back and the darkness over took him. He was unsure how long he had been unconscious when he came awake in a hospital bed, battered and bruised but alive. He moved his arms and legs in subtle motions, thanking whatever god existed that he was still able to do so. He propped himself up on an elbow, sliding his legs up under him and resting his back against the wall behind him. He took notice of a figure standing by the mirror and his heart soared when he thought it was Shey, but his mind spat out the name Ethon and killed his mood. It was no secret that most of her pack thought of him as just some punk magi who took advantage of a desperate time in their Alpha's life to get into her pants. His fist tightened beneath the sterile green dotted sheets as he glared at Ethon's back, feeling white hot rage coursing through his veins.

So, you think I'm not good enough huh? **** you Ethon, I know your game. Everyone knows that you want Shey for your own damn self but you only want the promotion that comes with it. I swear if you so much as touch her.....I'll kill you...The last thought had come unbidden, slamming, feeding the already raging torrent of anger that had flared within him. Ethon stood near an open window, looking out. Jack hadn't been awake when they brought him up, but from the skyline he could see through the window, they were high up.
The janitors that work here need to be more careful...leaving the floor wet near a window where someone could fall is pretty....dangerous....Rotes entered his head and he shoved them away before doing his best to douse the heat of his anger.
That blast must've shook me up more than I thought. He sagged back into his pillows, feeling tired again. Jack turned his head to face Ethon and spoke in hushed, quiet tones.

"Is she alright?" He didn't think there was any need to elaborate, and there really wasn't. His heart burned with an ache to see her, hold her, make sure she was O.K. Then again, he wasn't really sure that he was O.K. but that didn't do much to quell the fierce ache. Looking out the window, he gazed half dreamily out onto the city he loved, while pillars of smoke stretched lazily towards the sky, as an omen of evil or evidence that nothing and no one last forever. He squeezed his hand into fist, feeling the bite of his nails but not paying them any attention.
We'll get through this. I don't care how many monsters, demons, vampires or whatever the **** else comes our way, we will get through this. I promise.

Ariel was not yet as powerful as Memnoch, and the only abilities she could user to her advantage, was the element of surprise and her aptitude at stealth. Both of these were hard to employ when one’s opponent was in the standing right in front of you. All things considered, this was a fight she was destined to lose.

"No, if she wishes to serve than she needs to prove herself worthy of being able to fight in your name Enoch."

Ariel's hands moved quickly and silently beneath her full length shawl as Memnoch began to close the distance between them at lightning speed. In one fluid motion she sidestepped; wrenching the shawl from her shoulders and pulling it up like a shield in between her and Memnoch, as his clawed hand came crashing down. Even though she had managed a sidestep, it was not enough to avoid the blow and Memnoch struck her, tearing first through the shawl and then the flesh of her head and shoulder, the momentum from the attack sent her sprawling to the ground and into the doors she had just entered a moment earlier.

A sheath clattered below Memnoch’s feet. He looked down to see the shawl hanging from something in his chest. Tearing off the shawl, displayed a finely crafted blade stuck into his chest, a inches from his heart.

Ariel’s head hurt and her ears were ringing from the force of the blow. Her shoulder had taken the brunt of it. She could taste blood and the Beast fought hard for control over her. She knew she another hit like could do her serious harm.

braioch8201 11-29-2008 11:02 AM
Memnoch raised his hand for another blow, prepared to knock the woman through the wall if he could, then another blur appeared, that materialiazed into Enoch, his hand gripped onto Memnoch's arm, fury in his eyes.

Enoch swung his gripped arm back, swinging backwards, throwing Memnoch backwards, slamming into the wall.

"Enough Memnoch!" Enoch commanded.

Memnoch stumbled away from the wall, glaring at Enoch, but snorted and turned back towards the window. Enoch turned back towards Ariel as he turned towards her with a smile, apologetic in nature.

Enoch spoke, "forgive my idiotic subordinate, his vice is bloodshed and steel, and he does not contain much self-control. He'll behave himself now, and you're are free to do as you please. Excuse us, I have an important meeting to attend."

Nebb 11-30-2008 05:08 AM
Ariel picked herself up off the ground, blood still trickling from her shoulder due to the loss of muscle and skin tissue in her shoulder. Her normally calm and collected self-composure was gone, and instead anger and frustration brimmed at the surface. It was partially directed at the Prince's hospitality at allowing her to be attacked in his own throne room and partially at herself for not having been fast enough to respond to Memnoch's attack. What made her even more upset was that this meant Memnoch was right. She wasn't worthy enough to protect the Prince, since she couldn't even significantly damage the vampire, supposedly something that was her forte.

She collected her short-sword, scabbard, and torn full length shawl which lay on the ground. It barely had any blood on it. "He is quick." She thought to herself. If she couldn't become faster, then she'd be more cunning. She healed herself as best she could, but her wounds were serious and it would take at least another night or two. Immediately after, she could feel hunger start to set in.

She didn't have anything left to say, so she merely responded to the Prince's order to be excused.

"Yes my Prince."

Leaving, she picked up her bag and removed a clean shawl, wrapping it around herself. She headed out the building and into the streets; using various backstreet alley's she headed off into the night to hunt. She would need to be quick as she still needed to pay her respects to her covenant. They would undoubtedly want to question her for some time. She let out an audible sigh as she stepped into the darkest of shadows and disappeared from everything.

braioch8201 11-30-2008 10:07 AM
After the woman left, fire all but blazing behind her eyes, Enoch turned towards Memnoch, fury dancing on his expression.

"Memnoch, in no shape or form will you ever do something like that again!" Memnoch shrugged in response, "NO," Enoch continued, "you will never do something like that again! If it were not for the fact that you are invaluable to me then you would immediately find yourself within the confines of the Hold for as long I deemed necessary."

Memnoch turned towards Enoch, obviously enraged, furthering Enoch, "for that matter, you are no longer to do anything without my permission again! You have also been reduced to feeding only on humans now!"

Before Memnoch could utter a retort at the indignanty Enoch waved him silent, Enoch turned back towards the room.

"For any matter, you will find that woman and you are to bring her this," he turns handing an ornate sword that had been laying upon his desk, "this is to show that not only is she welcome but she is to accept this as an apology for YOUR behavior, and free to do whatever is necessary to aid us, Go!"

Enoch turned back around as Memnoch walked from the room in a rage to find the woman. Enoch sighed as he sat down, third day and everything was going to hell, it was of no concern, if Memnoch pulled something like that again, Enoch would throw him in the Hold, no questions asked.

*********************

Memnoch found the woman in no time, his eyes hard as he grabbed her attention. He brought the sword up, he was seeing it for the first time really, considering he never gave it a real glance as it sat on Enoch's desk. It was a long and sturdy sword, it seemed to be made purely out of silver, rubies and emerald's adorned the gold handle. It was a sturdy and viscious weapon.

"My master, Prince Enoch would like to send his apologies for......my...behavior," he manged to spit out through gritted teeth, obviously having a hard time with the sentence, "As well, he would like to extend this gift as a show of good faith in whatever it is you plan to do within the city limits."

He gives her a quick peck on the lips without hesitation. “Your welcome.” Dherris whispers back to Cutra as he pulls her in a little tighter. Rowan seemed to have cooled down a bit as well; he might even be close to shock judging from his look. Then Rowan had to ruin the moment again with mentioning how the Prince might react to Dherris’ presence. Dherris had to sigh at this truth and worked to come up with a solution.

It actually didn’t take more than a second for Dherris to find a solution, “You know… He’s right that the Prince might not like my presence at the meeting but he must not be very smart if he thinks I’m going to leave you alone… Especially when I can do this.” He said quietly for her to hear as he started to manipulate his tapestry of Life. He became a little shorter and less defined. His hair turned jet black and also shortened. His facial features shifted as well so he wasn’t completely noticeable as Dherris anymore though his eyes stayed the same color.

“Now I can stay with you and not insult the Prince when he comes.” He says calmly though cautiously being unsure in how she would react to the appearance change. He got up and held out a hand to help Cutra up if she so chose to accept the assistance. “Are you strong enough to still conduct the meeting milady?”

Nebb 11-30-2008 01:05 PM
Ariel caught Memnoch’s gaze as he approached sword in hand. She half expected him to cut her down where she stood after their earlier dance, but he appeared to have restrained himself. It wasn’t hard to read the irritation in his voice as he spat out an apology. But it was an apology none-the-less, and she was not going to forgo any manners in accepting it. Knowing how hard it must have been for him, she simply nodded as he handed her the sword. Slipping it under her shawl, it seemed to blend it almost magically beneath her outfit.

“You were right. I am not yet worthy to protect a Prince.” She said swallowing her pride. “Thank you for testing me and showing me my arrogance. If the Prince asks, please tell him I say, ‘Thank you, and that I will not disappoint again.’”

She half turned to leave then added: “I hope that was only the first lesson...” She managed a quick smile before disappearing into the night.

Ladypuppet 11-30-2008 01:28 PM
*Cutra watched him and smield soflty and looked at him, she smiled at the new featured. Looking up at him as he stood up she took, his hand and stood slowly. Looking at him slightly she shivvered.* "You know i don't have a choice weather I'm ready or not it must be done." *She said quickly and then sook her head slightly. Shivvering she looked over to Rowan. He had with his display quickly been put on her **** list but she didn't saw a word.* "Come Damion we must be off." *She called Dherris this to keep his identie a secret and moved passed back into the mage's chambers and sat down waiting for the meeting to arrive.*

Nebb 11-30-2008 02:17 PM
At seeing Dherris change his appearance, a smile came to Rowan’s lips.

He gave the slightest of bows as Lady Cutra and Dherris headed off, then turned and headed down the passage. As he rounded the corner, ensuring no-one was around, he reactivated the spell that assisted him in detecting those in the vicinity. Rowan continued walking through the passageways, creating very small detection wards in area’s where breaches in security were likely to occur. Weaving initiate levels of mind and space, he created wards that would alert him if someone or something breached any of the secured entry points in the building. Since he could see the entire layout of the building in his mind, no area that could be breached would escape his notice.

At a point where two passageways converged, he was joined by a very large muscular man, with a shaven head, wearing full white kung-fu attire. Without breaking stride, or lifting his head, Rowan spoke softly and with a hint of authority in his voice: “Good evening Xavier. We need to talk.” A frown had formed on Rowan’s forehead.

A warm smile broke across Xavier’s face as they both continued to the front of the building. He would ordinarily interrupt Rowan, simply out of habit, but as Rowan was playing the serious card, it was usually worth hearing him out: “Evening Rowan, what’s on your mind?”

“These meetings are too close to one another for my liking. A group of supernaturals gathering isn’t something to take lightly. Do I need to get into the dynamics of the opportunities this meeting provides those intent on doing our kind harm? Again, I might add.”

Xavier placed a strong arm around Rowan’s shoulders and pulled him closer as if they were best of friends: “Things have a way of working out brother. Yes, we could draw some attention, but if this prince has called a meeting, I for one would like to hear what the fuss is all about.” Xavier ended off with a gentle pat on the back which Rowan shrugged off.

Xavier found it amusing that intimate gestures had always seemed to make Rowan uncomfortable, hence the fact he never missed a chance at taking any of these opportunities whenever they arose. Rowan had a surgical level of self control that never wavered, so even the slightest dent one could make into his facade was a priceless reward in itself.

“You are oversimplifying the situation Xavier.”

“We all have our flaws Rowan.” Xavier said with a smile.

Together they walked down the stairs with Rowan leading: “You should know that Dherris is in the building.”

“Oh.” Said Xavier, seemingly not too interested. “Does Tobias and Cutra know?”

“Lady Cutra and Dherris seemed to have formed a… relationship. It appears to be real.”

“What? The great Mastigos leader believes they’re in love!” boasted Xavier seeming disbelieving the fact that Rowan could even fathom real love.

Rowan continued, ignoring the jibe: “Tobias on the other hand doesn’t know yet. I’m not sure how he’ll react to the knowledge that a mage that supposedly was exiled has been taken under the wing by a member of the Council who exiled him in the first place.”

“I see…what’s the use of a punishment if it doesn’t get carried out hey? Mmm... do you think he has learnt his lesson?”

“Right now I don’t think it matters. I have offered him the chance to ask the council to reconvene in order to discuss alternative ‘punishment’.”

“So you’re playing devil’s advocate.”

“We all decided it best that an example were made. The Council did not take the decision lightly, but we all knew the risks of what could happen if no punishment was given. There was pressure from all sides since the attention Dherris drew only seemed to spur on the younger mages into performing similar acts in the public eye.”

“We were young too Rowan and need I remind you about…” Xavier was smiling from ear to ear.

“Yes Xavier, I remember those days, but the risks are even greater now. The Elysium was destroyed, and if any of it was linked to the attention Dherris attracted, it could have serious consequences. To add insult to injury, imagine how it would look if the Council endorsed that kind of behaviour.”

Rowan’s frown disappeared, and a look of relief came over him as he let up the concentration from the spell he had been performing.
“Find what you were looking for?” Xavier asked.

“I’ve surveyed the entire building, and I can’t find anyone or anything out of place, aside from the Prince and a few of his men that is. All my wards are in place. We should go, we are expected.”

Silently Rowan was hoping this was going to be a quick affair, but when one was dealing with the supernatural, you could never say for sure.

braioch8201 11-30-2008 02:40 PM
Memnoch blinked in suprise at the woman, humble yet proud, there was something unheard of in any day and age, let alone this one. A quick and faint smile and then she was gone. For the first time in a long time he found himself utterly bewildered by another person.

Perplexed he watched with his senses as she sped off, he stared at the empty spot where she had once been, an odd sensation tugging at him, she had an odd ... "smell" about her. He shook his head slightly and turned, speeding off towards the Prince's office.

******************************

Enoch shook his head as he watched the city below him. He couldn't fault Memnoch too much, it was too much like him to be like that, nonetheless his actions were inexcusable, but the woman did seem to pull an odd sensation from himself. There was more to her then met the eye it seemed.

He had dressed himself in what he hoped was proper attire for the night. His normal black and red was replaced with a long cloak of white and silver. Rubies upon his hand, he glanced down at the rings on his hand. It seemed so odd that even after centuries an immortal couldn't escape their human lives, as was evident by the ruby rings that were once his families jewels passed from generation to generation.

This night was going to be a new one in the history of the preternatural, vampire, mage and lycan all working together, he hoped. Perhaps even an amicable agreement could be found for after this threat had been dealt with, who knew?

The sounds of the doors opening behind him brought his attention back to the room.

"Deep in thought again my Prince?" Memnoch's cold voice cut through the quiet of the room.

Enoch's eyebrows raised, now this was a tone he knew, but he hadn't heard it in centuries, interesting, "tonight is a big night, hopefully I'll be able to do what the previous Prince could not achieve, and in the same move be able to bring a sort of peace to this city that it hasn't seen before."

Memnoch smirked and strolled up behind Enoch, "Exciting is it?"

Enoch turned towards Memnoch, he must have found a kill while he was out, for his bloodlust seemed to have been satiated, and he seemed to have a different hungry glint in his eyes.

"Memnoch," he began, a slight smile on his face, "I do believe I haven't seen that look, nor heard that tone before in centuries, what is going on inside that head of yours?"

Memnoch snorted, "what? One does what can..."

It was Enoch's turn to snort, "trying to relive the old Roman days?"

Memnoch took the sign and stepped closer, "I always do."

Enoch smiled, "I know"

Intersting indeed, how one can never quite forget the past.

:nervous:

Shey had not stopped clutching at Bear's chest as he carried her through the streets of Solace, taking care to avoid busy streets and witnesses. When they finally got to apartment he set her down on her own two feet where she unlocked her door. Her movements were jerky and mechanical like her body was operating on auto-pilot and there was no one at the helm at the moment. Bear ushered her into the apartment, checking the hall to make sure that no one was watching them before closing and locking the door behind them. Shey just stood in her apartment, not moving her body seeming to be rooted in place. Bear's silent steps came behind her and placing a large hand on her shoulder he guided her into the livingroom where he sat her down on the couch. Without saying anything he began to remove her boots, his movements gentle and careful as he handled his alpha not wanting his actions to cause her anymore pain. Once her socks were removed he sat back for a moment before his hands moved up to undo the button on her jeans, Shey's eyes unmoving as she stared at a spot on the floor behind him. Taking extra special care he pulled at the bottom of her pants legs slowly tugging the blood stained jeans from her body, his eyes only lingering for the barest of moments at her smooth soft thighs. With the jeans off he stood and went to the bathroom soon the sound of running water could be heard though Shey gave no indication that she heard anything or even that she had been partially undressed.

Bear returned a few moments later, the sleeves of his shirt rolled up as his he reentered the room once again guiding Shey to the where he needed her to be, this time the bathroom was the destination. Once in there Bear waited a few moments to see if there was any reaction from Shey, "Shey..." he called her name gently though her eyes still did not seem to register anything. Sighing he then helped her out of her shirt, being careful not to touch her anywhere that was not necessary though as his eyes fell on her near naked form he could definitely see why Jack stayed around, and why Ethon was often cross about that relationship. With the greatest of care of the gentlest touch he removed her bra and then helped her slip out of the boyshorts she was wearing. Once she was completely naked her guided her into the bathtub filled with hot water, making sure she was comfortable and was not going to slip beneath the surface to drown. Taking a wash cloth Bear began to wash his alpha back with the utmost care and respect, remembering how she gained the title and knowing that she rightful deserved it. Thinking no less of her because of this or how she was behaving, everyone had a breaking point and from what he saw there he was not sure that he would actually be any better off then she was at the moment. The only sounds that were heard was the slow dripping of the water as Bear washed her body, though slowly there came a soft moaning like sound that turned into sobs and soon Shey was sobbing openly as she drew her knees to herself and cried. Without even thinking Bear reached in and hugged Shey while she cried, allowing her a shoulder to cry on. Later Shey was dressed and moving on her own, though she still felt drained she was better her mind and soul dealing with all the hurt and pain she saw and felt. She said nothing to Bear other then hugging him once more, both seeming to know that this was not something that needed to be spoke of in front of the rest of the pack. Stress of having to go to the meeting was still heavy on her mind, though she choose to ignore that at the moment as she phoned Ethon to let him know she was on her way to visit Jack for a moment before she went to the meeting.

Ethon turned to Jack upon hearing his question, "She is good as one can be after what she experienced." he says turning to him then walks over to the side of the bed taking a seat at the chair. "How are you feeling?" he asked knowing that the well being and care of this human was one of Shey's top priorities. They chatted back and forth a bit both trying to be as pleasant as possible till Ethon's phone rang and he answered it nodding and asking a few hushed questions before hanging up. "Well it looks like Sheyera is on her way here to see you." he said with a forced smile as he sat back in his chair to await the arrival of his alpha.

Getting to the hospital Shey got Jack's room number and with Bear as her shadow she made her way as quickly as possible without running to get to him. Once at the room she at the door way a moment looking at Jack her body tense as she controlled the urge to run to him and throw herself on him. Ethon came to her, his posture telling her that he wanted to hug her though he knew better then to do that. "Are you alright?" he asked. Shey met his eyes and nodded, "I'm going to need you to go with me to that stupid meeting later. After I have spoken with Jack." Ethon nodded standing there a moment then looking like he was going to give in and hug her before he continued out of the room to leave the two lovers alone. Shey walked to his bed smiling as she held back the tears that wanted to fall, "I'm so sorry." she whispered out to him as she stroked the side of his face before leaning in to plant a gentle kiss on his lips.

braioch8201 12-01-2008 05:18 PM
The attendant walked into the room, speaking but stopped and blushed and sputtered for a moment when he spotted Memnoch and Enoch. Enoch stepped back and stared at Sean for a moment and then gave him an unabashed and expectant look.

Sean shook himself, if it didn't affect his leadership, his Prince's personal life was his own business.

"The groups you ordered are prepared to leave at your command."

Enoch nodded, "So be it, I want them waiting for me, I'll be down immediately."

"Yes sir," and with that he was gone.

Enoch sighed he turned to Memnoch, "well I guess it's time, going to put on anything appropriate?"

Memnoch gave him a sideways glance which was more than enough of an answer. He sighed and grabbed the ceromonious sword on his mantle. It's blade was made of a tempered steel, it's edge was surrated all along the edge, his families seal was emblazened beneath the large and very expensive ruby on the hilt.

With that they were gone.

*******************************

The long white limousine followed behind the two large SUV's, and it was followed by two more. They stopped outside the mage's council, with that, the driver of the limousine walked from his spot in the limo and opened the door. Enoch slipped from the car silently, he glanced to each side towards the SUV's as his subordinates leapt from the vehicles. Enoch pointed to each side and with that his men were gone in a blur.

Memnoch followed close behind him as he walked to the doors. He pushed them open and strolled inside. He glanced around at the architecture with an admiring eye. He smiled softly and then spotted a nearby mage, he immediately recognized her as Lady Cutra.

He bowed in respect with a smile on his face, "Lady Cutra, it is an honor. I do hope it is not an imposition, but I have placed my men at different locations all over to watch over and guard for any threats."

Ladypuppet 12-02-2008 07:48 AM
*Cutra looked over as Damion aka Dherris stood at her side. Looking up she tilted her and wipe the tears out of her eyes. Looking up and shivers soflty looking at the Prince. He was a lot nicer and cleaner cut, then she had expected. She looked, she didn't like the guards, what would it cause the werewolves to think, she could not favor one over another. She smiled as Memnoch gave his respect of a bow she wouldn't be suprised if the Prince did not. Looking she narrowed, her eyes.*

"What of us, do you think the Mage Council not suffeicnt enough to protect your Prince?" *She questioned him and loked at him, she raised a brow turning she walked back toward the council hall motioning for him to follow her she shook her head slightly.* "I do not wish for the werewolves, to think I'm favoring one over another. So I must ask to you remove your guards." *Cutra said curtly.* "And if you don't remove them I will." *She said in a dangerous whisper, she chuckled soflty and and moved out her mouth twisted into evil grin, she winced softly as she heard another soul, depart its body but she pushed it to the back of the mind waiting for the others to show up.*

braioch8201 12-02-2008 11:10 AM
Enoch brushed from behind Memnoch, he cursed himself for his lack of manners. He knew all to well of this mage, Memnoch amongst others had informed him of her, manner. That and she had a great amount of power behind her hands, and he could do nothing but respect that.

He smiles as he too bows respectfully, "that will be of now problem," he cocks his head towards Memnoch, "Call off all patrols, tell them to regroup at the safehouse a couple miles away, immediately."

Enoch turned with a smile, he had anticipated such a reaction. After all, Lycans were all to known for hating their species, a widespread guard of them could definitely cause a stir.

Politely he gave a furitive glance to each side, he too hadn't failed to notice the beauty of the Mage's home. He smiled again, "I do hope that this meeting can reach a better point of peace and understanding then the last one."

Ladypuppet 12-02-2008 11:48 AM
*Cutra smiled softly, as she gave a soft sigh moving father back and around the councils desk. Looking down she saw she had a text message saying that Jack, had be injuryed and that Shey would possible be delayed. Cutra kept her shock held back, but she raised a brow to him.* "Such a noble many not as arrogant as the last Vampire Prince that entered this room and failed to leave." *Her voice was softy yet hurting. Looking down to the Prince and Memnoch as she took her seat.*

*Grumbling soflty she looked around.* "Figures, Rowan and Xavier took off." *She mummbled out to herself. Looking down she leaned her elbows on the desk and then interlaced her fingers together leaning forward onto her hands.* "Well after all i would hate to have a fight on my hands, it would be nasty if a mage would have to step in. " *She raised her brow tauntingly...*"I'm glad it wasn't a problem, I don't want blood on my hands." *She then slowly leaned back into the chair feeling the soft velvet.* "As do I mister? " *Looking at him she blinked.* "And your name is? " *She gave a soft laugh. * "Forgive me were are my mannors, I'm Cutra, or Lady Cutra as everyone so calls me." *Looking she rolled her eyes not liking the title at that much. She crossed her legs and sighed again looking at him.* "But you may call me just Cutra, Lady is only a title, one that I don't realy like it. But they all seem to call me...but its your choice..." *She fell quiet and looked down at him with a silent look.*

Enoch chuckled, "You may call me Enoch, I am not the Prince to you after all. I will admit my prior's failings in the fact that his arrogance was great, I always told him it would be his downfall, and it seems it was, alas that is of little consequence now."

Enoch glanced around the room they were situated in, various artworks and the like decorated the room. He glanced back at the mage in front of him, Cutra was indeed as they said, powerful, and rough around the edges. The woman's personality was a little abrasive, but nothing he couldn't deal with hell, hell he'd dealt with Memnoch.

"Though I do hope that Memnoch's presence is of no consequence. Like my predacesser(sp?) I would prefer an armed escort. It is to be of no threat, but he is my personal guardian, advisor, amongst other things."

Memnoch behind him snorted at the thought, Enoch gave a barely noticeable warning glare before his gaze shifted back to Cutra. Their personal matters had no precedence in this place, before others.

Ladypuppet 12-02-2008 04:21 PM
*Cutra nodded slowly.* "He is fine." *Suddenly she burst into laughing as he said among other things, she got some very wrong ideas. >.< She quickly pushed them out of her head, and the laughter subsided quickly. She growled harshly. Snapping her fingers.* "Damion get me those other mages, I don't not wish to be kept waiting." *She then snickered she enjoyed bossying around Dherris seeing he could do nothing about it. She leaned back and relaxed slighlty. A vine came up and pushed Memnoch backward.* "That is no way to treat a supoir to you now is it?!" *She raised a brow to questiong his actions, she would not have arrogance of this man in her council for a second time.* "Oh and keep your nasty drity feet off, of my funiture."* She said looking at him with a narrowed glare.*

braioch8201 12-02-2008 04:39 PM
Enoch pinched the bridge of his nose, perfect, now that that was out in front of other people. Leave it to Memnoch to further take a situation from the professional arena straight into innuendo filled gutter talk. Some people it seemed preferred to trample over their own and others dignity.

A vine came up and pushed Memnoch back suddenly, his eyes filled with fury.

"I-"

Before he could even begin Enoch turned a full gaze to the man, "enough Memnoch, we are in her house so to speak, and as thus we will abide by her rules. Also any personal friendship or otherwise we may share will not have any bearing on the respect you are to show myself and others while in a respectable situation. Now stand up straight, I believe both myself and Lady Cutra should have other matters to attend to other than your own disrespect and disregard of rules and etiquette."

Memnoch snorted and rolled his eyes, but said nothing and obeyed. Attitude or no, it was a show of compliance and good enough for Enoch. He turned his attention back to Cutra.

"Of a different subject matter, I would have others accompany me, but it seems that the man I placed on finding out more has yet to return with any information. So other than manpower I have little else to offer as aid, along with my own thoughts of the matter, which will be of little consequence I'm sure."

Ladypuppet 12-02-2008 04:49 PM
*Cutra eyes flared with anger suddenly she stood up and hit the table with both hands.* "You called for a meeting you have nothing to ****ing show for it?!" *She said angerly, she hissed in frustration she had other things to be doing then put up with this innoclence. Growling soflty to herslef her mana flared to the point it could almost be seen as it swirled around and whipped our from her body.* "This is foolish you have nothing to add but thoughts, that just wonderful." *She hissed out in and sarcastic tone, she wasn't in the mood to be nice anymore. Looking to Memnoch how she would love to rip him limb from limb, to teach him a lesson but her eyes glimmered in the light glimmered with rage.*

braioch8201 12-02-2008 05:05 PM
Enoch's eyebrows raised slightly, it seemed the mage was also a little unstable. It seemed rumors in this city were more than that, they seemed to hold some truth, now he wondered if the rumors of her and the exile were true as well, interesting.

Enoch raised his hands, "now, now, while I may have little to offer in the realms of information. I do have many connections in which to reach out too, if my man should prove to be untrustworthy or a waste of time, it will be dealt with accordingly. If so I will reach to other sources. For that matter, should the Mages or Lycans have their own information, nonetheless I will be able to offer manpower. I do guarantee that we will be more than able to aid in whatever measures are to be taken."

He was slightly miffed at her reaction, vampires were deadly fighters and more than able to take care of themselves.

"It is not as if I came here with nothing, we too are willing to fight for this city, that is why I have come. A gesture to show that we are none to willing to lose this city, nor our lives."

Ladypuppet 12-02-2008 05:39 PM
*Shaking her head she looked at the man.* "Your informants are worth crap you would know that Jake and Shey both may not make it."*Looking down to the man.* "This better be worth my time, or you won't have any left to spend." *She breathed out before collasping back into her chair and looked down just waiting for on of them to **** her off worst. She again shook her head trying to clear it. Before speaking again.* "Forgive me I have had a bad week, and last couple of days. I just want this taken care of once and for all." *She hoped that the Prince could help accomplish that.*

Rowan felt Dherris approaching as he rounded the corner, and stopped to introduce him to Xavier, making sure they were out of earshot of anyone: “Xavier, may I introduce Damion, otherwise known as the exiled mage, Dherris.”

Xavier’s face lit up as he saw Dherris and extended his hand warmly: “Damion is it… Well please to meet you Damion.” A smile started forming on his leathery face. “I surely hope you’re a lot less trouble than that guy Dherris. From what I’ve heard, he was quite a handful last time round.”

He had a good chuckle before he took Dherris’s hand between both of his combat hardened mitts and gave it a good squeeze. Spending a moment he held Dherris’s hand and looked him over like a father might look over his son. “Good to see you my boy. Well best we not keep anyone waiting.” He motioned for Dherris to take the lead, and then grabbed Rowan around the shoulders and even though he never needed the spurring, he dragged him along to the Council Hall.

As they got to the Council Hall Rowan shrugged off Xavier’s arm and upon entering immediately singled out the Prince. “Good evening Prince Enoch and welcome. I am Rowan, Mastigos Council.” Rowan said extending his hand in greeting. “May I introduce Xavier, Council Mage for the Obrimos, and surely the finest member they have yet acquired.” Xavier simply beamed with admiration for Rowan’s introduction. “Good Evening Prince.” Xavier extended his hand much like Rowan did but with a slight bow.

Seeing Lady Cutra at the table, Xavier walked over to her and almost lifted her off the table as he gave her a hug. “Aaah, Lady Cutra. Forgive my enthusiasm, but it has been a while since I’ve seen you last. May I say that you look as beautiful as ever.” Xavier gave her his award winning smile as he seated himself down on the table next to her. “So is it just us, or are we still waiting for someone…?”

“Tobias asked that we proceed without him, as something important has come up, that could not avoid his attention. I’m sure he’ll be able to give us more information once he gets back.” Rowan was slightly displeased about the fact that Tobias was missing another meeting, but couldn't help wondering what was keeping him from his duties.

Rowan found a seat on near both Cutra and Xavier and took a moment monitor the wards for any breaches. Satisfied that everything was okay, he focused at the task at hand.

Ladypuppet 12-03-2008 06:32 PM
*Cutra looked and half way rolled her eyes and began to drum her fingers on the desk. Sighing soflty she shook her head slighlty as she looked over to the two mages, and raised a brow she was never big on either of the men, on any terms. Yawning soflty she leaned back again and sighed once more.*" ****ing Tobias, he never shows up when you need him." *Hissing she hit the table out of frustration and growled out.*

*She then calmed herself quickly and sighed.* "There maybe a slight delay with Shey it seem Jake has been admitted to a hospital. I know she would rather be by his side then her, at the moment. So we will began without her, if and when she shows up she will be infromed of the happenings of the meeting." *Then after which she truned to Xavier.*
Thank you for you that even thouh we haven'ts seen each other in a while.

braioch8201 12-04-2008 01:10 AM
Enoch watched the two new mages enter with a watchful eye, they were respectful enough. He would give the same respect, but personally he hoped they were less trouble than Lady Cutra, she was proving a handful.

He bowed to the two of as he took each of their hands, "Lord Rowan, Lord Xavier, a pleasure to be sure," he said with a polite smile, maintaining eye contact the whole way through.

Cutra began to speak as the earpiece in his ear crackled to life, it's volume to low for a human to hear, but perfect for his own vampiric hearing. "Sir we've got a few reports on the Lycans. Apparently one has been injured severely, in the hospital. Also the one mage known as Damion is none other then Dherris, the one who took out the former Prince Aviose. Following as such none of the mages, aside from "Damion" and Cutra seem to really get along with Cutra herself, or suffice to say, she doesn't like them. Seems the mages have their own internal strife, as well as some romance issues as you know. Lastly we've known or seen nothing of the humans, but for all we know they are all around you. Your instructions to back off were followed, but as far as we can see, nothing is going on."

Enoch didn't even give a nod as he listened to it, as he listened to Cutra, he realized his "ears" weren't giving him a whole lot on the Lycans that the Mage wasn't already offering up. The only real help was the "Damion" character around, not to mention that the humans were nowhere to be seen. One of his hopes were to have their meeting well known, he figured as such, no one had placed too much secrecy on it, so he knew that wretched group knew of it. He hoped to draw them out, if they should take this bait, his men would be ready.

Catching what Cutra was saying he bowed his head, "then if we are to begin, I believe it only polite to allow the hostess to begin the proceddings," he spoke motioning to Cutra, sitting himself opposite of her.

Ladypuppet 12-04-2008 09:44 AM
*Cutra smiled softly at the representation of the prince this time around. This impressed her but not enough to let her guard down around him. Looking she smiled at the thought of him finding out more information then he really need to know. She motioned Dherris over, and leaned and whispered in his ear. But it was low enough for only him to hear.* “Seems that everyone knows your dirty little secret and that you and I have romantic relations. If you don’t want to keep this from go back to your other more handsome one if you wish…” *She giggled softly in his ear her warm breath teasing softly as she pulled back and away.*
*Looking she motioned her hands for Xavier, and Rowan. She smiled as she watched the gentlemen sit her eye looked to Memnoch before she spoke once more.* “You can sit Memnoch, long as you keep your nasty feet of my tables and chairs.” *She raised a brow and then smiled her eyes drifted over to be the old prince had taken. His body still lay in the room; she still had to take care of the body. She didn’t want that arrogant butthole back if she could help it.*
*Her eyes then looked back to the new prince, sighing softly she nodded to the man.* “Well, I agree let us get this over with it. Start with introducing yourself and we will go from there.” *She then waited and leaned back into her chair and shut her eyes to listen.*

Enoch sighed, it seemed that it had begun. In this city it seemed a little redundant to repeat their names, everyone knew everyone as it was. Though he knew better than anyone that formalities were important..

He had once been a Senator for Rome after all, he was more than used to this kind of thing. Leadaers who were a little too worn from their position like Lady Cutra, rogues who couldn't get away from their duties no matter what like "Damion" aka Dherris, and amongst the others. Eventually he prayed that the Lycans would show up, he needed them here for his other plans.

In the meantime he would play the part of the amicable leader. He stood up, head held up, shoulders held firm, his voice even, he was prepared for anything he was going to have to face.

"As of late I am now formely known as Prince Enoch, leader of the Vampire covens within the city."

With that he gave a slight bow to the others, and then resumed sitting, his upright position resumed, his eyes watching the others warily.

((Short background post since I have nothing for Dherris really to go on at the moment))

TFV**************

“Sir, we got new equipment from HQ.”

“Anything new that I need to be aware of?”

“Yes, the lab sent some new devices for field testing that are meant to help deal with these ‘mages’… They call it the AFD.”

“Is AFD supposed to mean something or did they just label it that because it sounded cool.”

“Abnormal Field Disruptor… Apparently it acts like some sort of shielding device to protect against direct use of a ‘mage’s magic’… In several instances, they have even noted the make the ‘magic’ even go out of control possibly injury the mage themselves.”

“Sounds good… Too good, what’s the catch?”

She reads over the sheet for a second, “… Users tend to develop temporary paranoia, insomnia, and even if they get some sleep they have incredibly vivid nightmares. It is recommended that after any missions where the devices are activated for that the users be put in confinement for a week to prevent injury to themselves or others.”

Commander rolls eyes, “Great… How many did receive?”

“Fifteen total sir…. As well as five modified body armors containing confiscated Thaumium… That material that appears to have magic resistant properties that some mages seem to craft… Though their effectiveness only lasts so long, it is much more effective while they do work is still greater than the AFDs.”

“All right, set up five teams of four men each with the new witch hunting gear… We might be needing it soon depending on how soon we can track these mages down.”

“Sir?”

“Yes…”

“I have an update about the Type A and S ENEs that were being tracked… One seems to be injured and the other was lost but contact has been reestablished at the hospital that the Type A was sent to.’

“Good…. Make sure the teams keep both of them under surveillance now.”

Scambo 12-05-2008 08:42 PM
Jack let himself lie back in the soft hospital-mattress, his own pain and wounds temporarily forgotten in lieu of Shey's. A flash of pain and Jack stifled a groan, reminded of the extent of his damages. He coughed as Ethon spoke, fighting down an urge to be snide and unapproachable.
"It's not me I'm worried about. This, these bumps and bruises, will be fine in a couple of weeks. That.....thing....out there, that monster, was someone important to her. I didn't know him, but whoever he was....I dunno, call it a hunch, but somethings' telling me that this is just the damn beginning.....I mean.....Its just that, I can't do anything about it, and its driving me crazy. My whole goddamn life, I've always been in control. When I started going to the pack territory, my decision. When I left, my decision. I figured my whole life would be that way and y'know what? I was fine with that. Then, a week ago, that all changes in 5 minutes." He let a slight chuckle escape, grinning at the memory of those first few moments when he and Shey had let their feelings take over, standing beneath the stars with nothing but the gentle lapping of the lake waves and the rustle of wind in the trees to distract them.

"And now, here I am. Lying in a hospital bed with three cracked ribs and a hair line fracture. But....I'd do it all again. So, thats my life. Whats up with you?" The conversation was bearable if not pleasant and the time passed quickly enough when a the door clicked open to admit the person he had been wanting to see. As her lips touched his, a sense of well being and vitalization shot through his body and he let the dull ache in his chest fade into the back of his mind.

"Just what the doctor ordered." He squeezed her hand from his prone position in the bed, bringing his strength to bear, showing her that he was going to be alright.

"I'm.......sorry about your friend. I know he was important to you.....But..I know that this isn't over, and I know you know it too. But, I want you to know that whatever happens, no matter what, I'm going to see it through to the end." He stared hard into her deep impenetrable chocolate eyes, stoking the fires of determination and love in preparation for what lay ahead.

eferhilda 12-05-2008 11:45 PM
Shey fought back the tears that threatened to flow as she felt herself looking deeply into his eyes, seeing all the love and determination in them made her feel stronger and more sure of the future. Sighing she leans down kissing the back of his hand, "Together we will make it through all of this, though seeing all that has been happening to the city, what happened to Brian...." she felt herself choke up at his name making her take a deep breath to steady herself before she continued, "I realize that all I want in this world now and forever is to be with you some place else some place away from all of this...." she says as she leans forward suddenly excited with expressing her thoughts and feelings. "A place where we could live in peace and maybe raise a family. I know that this must seem perhaps like its moving too fast, but I don't think I have it in me to continue here in the city. To watch my friends and family die around me....in my arms...." her voice trailing off as she looked down at her hand holding his own. "I don't know about how you feel about me, I think and feel that you love me. I know that tonight when I saw you get hurt my soul cried out in pain for you." Now her free hand was gently stroking the back of his hand, "Tonight I accepted you as my mate, which if i was human would make us basically married...."her voice soft though there was a smile in her tone as she looked down at his hand held in her own. "What I think I'm trying to say is that I don't want to be the alpha anymore, all I want is to be your mate and to move away with you somewhere start a family and live out or lives in peace together." she spoke a bit shyly as she looked up tp meet his eyes.

Ethon could not help but growl as he listened in on their conversation, **** beyond words that Shey was willing to turn her back on the pack for a human. Bear standing near by spoke up, "We can't deny her her happiness. She has suffered more then most of us have realized." he says speaking softly looking to the door, "Her parents, the pack members...Brian and almost her mate. If she wants to leave before she loses him I don't blame her, in fact I support her and wish her the best." Bear said as he laid a large hand on Ethon's shoulder, "You would do well to do the same my friend." he said gently before giving him a gentle squeeze and then moving to lean against the wall to wait for Shey to emerge from Jack's room.

Ladypuppet 12-06-2008 01:40 PM
*Cutra smiled softly but could tell that something seemed to be on the vampires thought cycle as she watched him closely, and smiled softly. He was polite enough when it came down to introductions. He wasn’t stuck up he was kind and sweet, she looked down now wasn’t the time for her to get all emotional again. She looked and opened her eyes as he bowed, to them. She looked back to Memnoch with a cocked brow, seems he was just going to be arrogant like the old prince. This didn’t surprised in the least, she never really did like him to much. She looked and stood up slowly as she looked down pulling her robes around her slightly more. *

*She then looked down to her hands as he brought her arms up and crossed them across her chest. Then she began to speak, “I’m Cutra De Argos, the Moros mage, and head mage of this council.” She said quietly looking down to him, then allowed the others to speak as she bowed her head respectfully to Enoch, and sat back into her chair. She also wished that the Lycan‘s to show so that this could be resolved once and for all so she may retire.*

Rowan flicked his eyes at Xavier, who shrugged and motioned as if to say, ‘I don’t know, you say something.’

Rowan stood up from where he was seated and said with no uncertainty in his voice: “The times for pleasantries are over. We can spend the rest of the evening prancing about with social etiquette, but our city is under attack by an enemy we know little about.” Without giving anyone an opportunity to interrupt or agree, he continued: “It is no coincidence that these attacks are highly successful. Elysium was destroyed with one premeditated attack. That tells us our enemy is smart, they’ve had time to study us and they probably know our weaknesses. We don’t know much about them however, except that they are co-ordinated, well trained and well informed, and this leaves us unprepared and possibly unmatched for their next attack. Our first priority is simple…we need intel. We need to know who they are, what’s their agenda and most importantly, who are they working for.

Turning to face the Prince, yet speaking with no disrespect: “I agree that publicizing this meeting, as has been done, does have a chance to draw out the enemy, but the risks are too many and too high to have made that decision without consulting all parties involved.”

Rowan didn’t think he’d need to explain to the Prince how the council would have found out about the fact that he was subtly laying bread crumbs for enemy to follow in the attempt to lure them out. Mages are part of every aspect of society, so it was only foreseeable that one would eventually find out that the vampires were preparing for a meeting with the possibility of a large scale attack. Perhaps that was even the Prince’s intention, so as to lure out an individual who could be providing the enemy with information regarding the inner workings of vampires, mage and lycan society. For a moment his mind wondered about the why the Fey weren’t involved, but he brought it back on track again quickly, focussing at the task at hand. If there were any doubts that the Prince had a hand in spreading news of their meeting, the sizable force with which the he arrived, confirmed all Rowan’s suspicions. He was not sure why the Prince did not trust them enough to divulge such information. Maybe he figured he could destroy the enemy without any other involvement or maybe he just didn't trust the Mages entirely. Instinctively, Rowan again checked his wards with a flick of the mind, before continuing.

“Furthermore the fact that we have not been attacked as yet shows us that our enemy is cunning and will wait for only the most opportune moment to strike. I don’t believe brute force is going to settle this battle, and the attention it would draw, if something were to happen, would not be acceptable. If we are to continue as allies, we all need to be in agreement that meeting like this is unacceptable. Prince, you have the ear of the council, and that right is granted to you by your stature, just as the council’s voice has the ear of the Prince by the same accord. I ask only that in future you don’t keep your agenda hidden from us when dealing with this new enemy. The council having foreseen such tactics have made preparations in the event an attack was to happen, but this is simply not the way to initiate your allies into battling a common enemy.” With a smile he added: “As you know, we are a little more prone to dying than you are.”

braioch8201 12-07-2008 02:07 PM
Enoch's brow raised, the corner of his mouth twitched for a moment. He stood slowly and gazed around at the others for a moment, his face thoughtful as he spoke.

"To counter what has been uttered so insofar, I will merely state that I never intentionally let loose any information of the meeting. My intention for this matter was after I learned that it had been leaked to take advantage of such. A base strategy though it may be, it has shown us more and more about what we face."

He turned to his accuser and gave a slight bow of respect, he quite frankly had taken no offense to the man's words. Turning back to the rest of the council, he began to speak.

"It is true that this group is obviously clever, and cunning. Their forces are organized, efficient, and extremely well armed. Throughout my time in this city, I have heard of various different technologies which are effective in creating a field to repel or destroy magicks, replicate sunlight, etc. I think only logic and common sense should dictate that this group will be using this. Secondly it is also well known that this city has been in inner strife for as long as the preternatural have existed within it. The rivalry, hatred, war, whatever you want to call it has been enough of a gap in this cities resistance to this group, that they have taken advantage of it. Sadly the Lycans are not here to hear this at the moment. In all honesty, all with information, part of the greatest preparation for this attack, and for all future one's from future potential enemies, is an alliance. An alliance will allow each group to cover the weakness of another, and heighten their own strengths, as is what hopefully can be met tonight."

With that he cocked his head in the direction of Memnoch for a moment, who was staring up at the ceiling, almost bored. Enoch sighed to himself as he kicked backwards, catching Memnoch's attention. Enoch turned back to the council room and bowed again and sat down.

"I leave the floor open to any who wish to speak up."

*Cutra looked over at the mage and growls softly at Rowan, and shook her head slightly she would deal with the man later. She listen to him going on and on. He always seem to make good points even if the man did seem to talk a lot. But that was beyond the point at the moment. She had more things on her mind that worried her. She carefully listen to Rowan. Then she began to think if the Prince had told anyone and they had told someone that was treasonous this could result in them telling someone about were the Mage Council missed. That could also lead them directly to them, and would result in a fight.* “This is very good information Rowan, always loved you for you observant side. Always keep your flare up.” *Cutra stood slowly as she moved pacing behind the row of chairs.* “It is quiet a shame the Lycan’s are unable to make it but as I said there had been some problems that have came up.” *She then down moved down to in front of the desk.*

*She then turned her eyes to Prince Enoch and gave him and ice cold stare* “How many people did you tell about this meeting? How many did you tell, that you were going to meet the mage council here?” *She questioned him her voice as cold as a chilled wind. She then looked at him and bared her teeth slightly.* “Frankly we don’t need to have a god damn enemy coming after us, you know how dangerous a battle with us could be in the city. We could completely destroy it, causing it to fall, how many Lycan’s, vampire’s and human’s would die. From these new founded people. My own servants , or minions do not know were I come for these meetings, and they have to contact me by a secure phone line. We take are safety to the highest level. It seems that you have no regards for you own.” *This was just out of frustration of what Rowan had said she still had yet to address what the dear prince had said and this know it is time for her to digging her longs nails laced with poison into his cold dead heart.*

*Cutra looked at the prince and narrowed her eyes as she moved toward him till she was inches from his face.* “You think that were uttering am I speaking clear enough for you know or do you need your ears to be cleaned out as well?” *She hissed at him loudly. Looking back at Memnoch she growled in frustration once more.* “I’m glad you so laid back and lax and take you and your princes safety so seriously.” *Her voice caring a heavily sarcastic tone.* “She raised a brow taking what he had said into consideration and laughed.* “Basically you indicated that we should, team up with you cause you know more about this new threat then we do?” *She hissed out. She narrowed her eyes slightly.* “Said alliance would exploit the mages, we would have to make are selves know to the human’s this could cause problems, that might cause a panic, think that others could be like us, it could cause panic, and un-needed death. Or did you not think of that?” *She looked and raised her brow slightly as she waited for a reply she then moved back and looked at Rowan. Before she spoke angrily at him.* “Never ever again disrespect my customs on how I run this council, there are reasons behind having this put in place it is to show that you have respect for them and get it in return.” *She moved and hissed loudly at him.*

“This is very good information Rowan, always loved you for you observant side. Always keep your flare up.” Rowan bowed thanks to Lady Cutra for the compliment.

He watched her approach the Prince with her accusing manner, and although Rowan thought her methods ineffective at time, ever so often it would reap results demonstrating that there truly was some kind of method to her madness. He watched as she toyed with the Prince and his charge, wondering secretly how much patience the Prince had left in him. A lesser Prince would have angered a lot sooner. Rowan, however, was used to her outbursts by now, and even though she wasn’t the most powerful council member, she had a mouth like a viper and a temper to go with it.

When Lady Cutra reprimanded him for forgoing social etiquette, Rowan frowned inwardly. It was vital to show a united front to their guests as well as solidarity in standing behind their leader, so Rowan bowed respectfully to Lady Cutra: “My apologies Lady Cutra.” He rarely questioned her motives, partly due the fact that she always spoke her mind and partly because she always seemed to put the council first. It was this same dedication to the Council that had each councillor voting her to the title of Head Mage of the Consilium. Rowan wondered why she had taken up the position. He didn’t have the time to deal with all the responsibility that came with being the Head Mage, especially since being a member of the Veil meant having to stay on top of more important issues. Since he wasn’t going to take up the position himself, he would respect her ways until protocol dictated otherwise.
He watched and waited to see what the Prince's response would be.

His eyes blurred and he felt the warmth of tears surge into his eyes as his soul cried out in a want and need he had never felt before. To just pick up and leave the city.....He had given it some thought, but always in humor or plans of retirement and now....He knew the only choice he could make.

"Shey.....I don't think they'res' anything I've ever wanted more than that....We could give uncle Ronnie a call, stay at his old farm over in Ireland. Hell, maybe I could call in some favors and get the Adamantine Engineers together for a little project for the two of us. Yeah....a cozy little place, somewhere where there are no vampires, no ghosts, no crazy witch hunters or demons. Just us. And our family." Straining against his wounded ribs he kissed her then, knowing that what he had left to say would be there.

"The last time I talked to a girl about moving in and starting a family after a week, she changed her number and told me get out of her life. Funny how much things can change in just a few short years.....But, I'm willing to leave this life behind if it means I can be with you. I would do anything for that." He stared up into the dark depths of her eyes, and she into the deep blue of his own. He squeezed her hand and let a smile come over his face, reassuring her of his conviction and love.

Shey could only take a steadying deep breath as she heard his words, the feel of his warm lips on her own. Looking into his eyes she returned the reassuring squeeze of his hand as she reached up stroked the side of his face, "The second you are able to leave here we will leave this city. I'll talk with the pack tonight about it after the meeting, I'll even make a formal announcement tonight at the mages meeting that I will be stepping down as Alpha and putting the pack into the capable hands of my second Ethon." her tone and face displaying her obvious excitment about the whole plan. "If only I was not expected for that worthless meeting....." she grumbled though she knew the matters that would be discussed were vital to the pack's long term well being and she had to make sure they were represented properly and that they did not get shafted in the deal. Sighing she smiles feeling a lot better now that she had made her decision to leave with Jack, it was like a huge weight was off of her shoulders and she could breath easier now for the time being. Standing up she leaned down and kissed him on the lips first then smiling as she looked into his eyes, "Get better fast. I'm not sure I will be able to sleep to well without you, seeing how I have gotten so use to your warmth." she smirks then kisses him on the forehead. "Bear will be here with you. You remember Bear right? The one who looks like a bear when he is transformed....." she chuckles a bit, "He will watch over you and make sure no one gets to you. He will also make sure that they feed you and take care of you for me." she says as she gives his hand a final squeeze then slowly reluctantly she pulls away from him heading for the door. Getting to the door her hand resting on the knob as she looked back at the man she loved, "I love you." she says simply and truthfully before she opens the door and steps out into the hall.

The moment she was with her pack the alpha kicked back in and Shey took one look at Ethon and knew he had been listening in on her conversation with Jack. Eyes narrowing in anger, "We will discuss this later Ethon..." she growls stepping to him as she stares him hard in the eyes, "Unless you want to settle this here and now? Because I am really not in the mood to deal with your bull ****." she snarls out to him her gold eyes never leaving his green, until finally he looked away and to the ground. "I'm sorry Shey." he says simply not looking up from the ground. Leaning in close she whispers in his ear, "Watch yourself Ethon or I will find someone else to take my spot when I leave. Understood?" her tone deadly. Ethon nodded his head and his body language changed enough that she knew that he would be more careful and had relented to her dominance. Snarling a bit she stepped away her features softening as she looked up at Bear who smiled happily for her. He had listened too, but he was happy for her, "He is a good and brave man. A good match for you and strong enough to take a beating and keep going; something that he is going to need if he intends on staying with you." his deep chuckle making Shey smile. "Take care of him for me will you?" she asked him. "Did you even have to ask?" he replied pulling her into a warm hug, "Take is easy on Ethon....its hard to know that the thing you love the most will never be yours." he whispered to her. Shey only nodded against his chest in answer as she pulled away, "I should not be too long, the meeting is probably half over by now anyway." "No worries you are leaving Jack in capable hands." Bear says with a smile as he goes to open the door, "Ethon..." his deep voice calls out to the small man who looks up meeting his eyes, "Make sure she does not get into too much trouble will you?" he says to him with a smile, then giving her a wink he steps into Jack's with a hearty "Hello!" Shey looked to Ethon and nodded, the pair moving quickly to exit the hospital to make it the meeting before it was over.

About ten minutes later the pair walks into the Mage council chamber Shey going to bow before the three mages, "Forgive my lateness but there was an incident down town and...."she took a deep breath, "Brian of the Chameleon pack will not be joining us. He passed away this evening." she said solemnly before standing up straight and going to take her seat. Ethon her silent shadow following and taking a sit beside her.

Enoch watched Cutra with a cool gaze, his level emotions staying true in his eyes as he stood slowly to meet with the enraged mage face to face. He took a moment before he spoke, allowing the silence that filled her rant stretch for a moment. Her reaction had been little more than predictable.

"My Lady I believe there has been more than one bit of miscommunication. What I meant to insinuate is that in fact I know that this meeting was spoken of, and afterall, one cannot bring the preternatural leaders of the city together without the whole of the city knowing, I have personally compromised nothing."

Memnoch smirked as he watched the two, Cutra was going on one of her famous temper tantrums, and Enoch was playing the calm and collected Senator as always.

Enoch continued, "Furthermore, I had assumed that by any logical means of thinking that one could divinate from what we know about this group, that once they had dealt with both the Lycans and the Vampires, they would turn on the Mages. Afterall they have shown a hatred for all forms of non-human or should I say anything of the preternatural or supernatural."

Suddenly the Lycans had swept into the room drawing Enoch's attention, he bowed to each of them respectfully, addressing each by name and title appropriately.

Ladypuppet 12-13-2008 01:08 PM
*Cutra watched him and narrowed her and looked it seem that he had just insulted her as if she didn’t know how to hear correctly. The council was her main reach to make sure that the other mages were not dragged down into this war. She herself did not wish to get involved in this war it was pointless for the mages, to get involved.*

*She listen to what he had said, and thought about it. She then slowly began to speak.* “I see you wish to have a compromise, and what would the mage’s benefit from it?” *She asked coolly, she looked at him.* “The mages know little much about this new threat hence why we didn’t want to get involved this meeting was to make a pack between the vampires and the lycans, not to try and get the mages involved with and unseen enemy.”

*She looked past seeing that Shey and another were wolf she didn’t know had walked in.* “Shey I’m glad that you could make it.” *Cutra bowed respectfully to her. Seeing Memnoch face she could tell he was clearly amused by this argument then she thought cruelly.* “Sorry to ask this Prince Enoch, but I would like Memnoch to I would like him to leave, he is not giving any information and would clearly not wanting to be at this meeting.” *She then looked over to him.* “But we are humans, and they may or may not know that we have powers.” *Cutra heard her phone go off she reach down and looked.* “Well, well, we could all be in danger once more. Lord Rowan, Lord Xavier, Dherris, I believe that some source has leaked, we all maybe in danger tonight, more so then anyone else her.” *She looked her lips curled with rage.*

*She moved past the Prince and to the Lycan’s.* “Shey who is this other man accompany you and how is Jack?” *Bowing her head she gave a moment of silence for the death of Brain, it was sad that he had passed but they had more important things on her mind.* “I’m sorry for the lost of Brain, but I hope that we may reach some sort of agreement to take down this enemy.” *She turned and headed back letting her magic flare slightly around her. The doors creaked slightly as spikes covered the floor, at the door frames and sighed softly.*

Enoch's lip twitched slightly at the Mage's sneering attitude, her constant need to have an attitude coupled with her unecessary aggression was becoming a problem. How a woman like that was given a position of leadership was beyond him.

He turned to Memnoch and shrugged slightly, he spoke quietly as the Mage was distracted, "do as she says, there's no need to irritate her any further than she already is. Wait within a close distance of the building should you be needed. I sense this night will not end well for some of us for some force or another."

Memnoch sneered but left the room without a word, casting an evil glare in Cutra's direction, leaving Enoch to sigh, the man would never change. He turned back towards the Lycans, he knew that this was going to be the real challenge.

He bowed again, "I am deeply sorry for you loss..." not knowing where to continue from there his eyes drifted over to the spikes flying up everywhere and turned back to the Lycans, "as Lady Cutra stated I am here on the matter hoping that at the very least both the Vampires and Lycans may find an amicable agreement in which we can fight off this new threat which seems to be causing more than one unnecessary death."

Rowan watched as the pack leader of one of the head lycan clan made her way to where the meeting was being held. He watched her carefully as she told those gathered of the death of Brian, another pack leader in the city, and the sadness on her face was evident for all to see. The pain beneath her demeanour however, was not. From the subtle movements of her hands, to those of her eye’s, Rowan could tell she was hurting. It took a strong individual to set aside the feelings of loss that accompanies one after loosing someone close to one’s heart. However here she was, ambassador for her clan. A touch of admiration crossed Rowan’s face for the briefest of moments, before an annoyance grabbed at his attention. Cutra’s phone was ringing. Seeing the look of disdain on the Prince’s face, made it clear to see that Cutra’s remarks were getting under his skin.

Rowan looked over at Xavier as Cutra announced:
“Well, well, we could all be in danger once more. Lord Rowan, Lord Xavier, Dherris, I believe that some source has leaked, we all maybe in danger tonight, more so then anyone else her.”

Rowan checked all his wards again. Reaching out with his mind he found the mind of one of his pupils in the building. “Check the perimeter to see if this building is under surveillance. If so, I want to know where they are, and if they are in contact with anyone. Eye’s and ears only – no spells. If you come up empty, make use of the rote ‘detect the watcher’ and report back to me with your findings.”

The rote, one of Xavier’s designs, made use of subtle yet powerful space and forces magic, to turn the looking glass of the onlooker, back onto himself and expose the would be spy. The use of this spell, harder in the daylight, was considerably easier at night, due to the fact that most state of the art surveillance equipment that functioned at night, utilized only certain invisible light spectrums, alike or similar to infra-red, which were easier to detect and filter at night. Due to this fact, one could pinpoint such devices with ease, just like tracing the infra-red light from a sniper gun back along its trajectory.

Xavier leaned to whisper to Rowan; “Why here, why now?” seemingly not believing that such a cunning enemy would be stupid enough to attack a mage – or a collection of the most powerful mages in the city - in their own domain? Sure, as the Prince had spoken about items that repel or dispel magic, but here in the Council building, the energy lines were powerful, and magic flowed almost uninhibited by the sleepers disbelief. Casting magic would be easy, almost effortless, and even through the use of materials that could dispel magic; it was hard to dispel an indirect attack like a door flying at the speed of a bullet from across the hall. Rowan didn't respond, thinking Xavier's question rhetorical.

Rowan stood for the briefest of moments, followed by Xavier.
“Our thoughts are with you and your pack for your loss." Announced Rowan as they both bowed, then took their seats.

Rowan's mind was racing with calculations. If this new threat was only attacking vampires and lycan’s, then they we're already involved. Sure Cutra was right that this may not directly concern them right now, but he understood what would happen when this new enemy grew stronger and decided to turn their attention to the magi of the city. It was time to activate counter-measures. He twisted the ring on his finger and it activated with a subtle vibration. "I can't believe you still use that old thing."; whispered Xavier, feeling the subtle movement of prime coming from the device.

"And I can't believe you still wear a kung-fu suit..." retorted Rowan.
"Touche, little brother." smiled Xavier. "Touche"

On the other side of a city Andre was sitting in a stakeholders meeting. According to the chairperson, their numbers were down, expenses had doubled and shares were loosing out to a weakening economy. The word retrenchment hasn't been thrown around as yet, but there was still a half an hour to go and he was sure that it would come up soon. The ring on his thumb vibrated ever so softly. Placing his hands beneath the table, he twisted the ring and opened the 'message'. It was from Rowan; "one hour" was all that came through. He knew the others must have received the message too. They hadn't met in weeks and he was more than a little excited.

On their way out of the hospital, a TFV agent was able to tag Ethon with an etheric tracker allowing them to follow without actually the possibility of being spotted. Eventually it paid off to as they were led right to the mage building, stopping only briefly to take a reading on the building before pulling back to observe from a safe distance.

The Solace base was contacted, blueprints acquired, and a plan was drawn up in a matter of minutes. The all ready suited teams grabbed some extra equipment from the armory before moving out. Under the cover of city road work, they entered the sewer several blocks away and double timed it to an area just under the council building.

Outside the building, the archmage’s man wouldn’t find a trace of the place being watched. The agents and teams kept switching off at different and random intervals as well as blending into the normal civilian crowd. They didn’t use any of their fancy surveillance gear since where they were operating held the high potential of being caught by an ordinary person. They were after all black ops, and so they kept the building under visual surveillance only.

Back in the sewer tunnels, the group slowed as it approached the approximate location and one pulled out an etheric tracking device to pinpoint the exact location. Stopping pretty much right under the council chamber, another man pulled out some kind of scope and peered upward. “I count four type Ms here, here, here, and here.” He says pointing as another marks the locations in the ceiling. “Two type Ss here and here… and one type V here.” He looks back to the squad and their demo man in particular. “Okay we take out the Ms first before they can get organized… You’re up.” He point to the demolition expert who steps up, take out his own scope to examine the ceiling/floor to determine the proper placement of the charges. Giving a thumb’s up that it looked good; he went to work putting a few holes in the ceiling to hold the charges. He made sure to be extra careful with the amount of explosives he used… Especially since they were using Semtex.

Everyone worked quickly wanting to get out of the stinking sewer as fast as possible and to a cleansing shower. Once everything was all the charges were in place the next phase went into action. “Ok, Bravo you set up over and Alpha will set up over here. We’ll catch them in a crossfire. Check your weapons and watch out for friendly fire!” Everyone gave their SMG or shotgun one last check before setting up a safe distance from the area they would bring down. Once everyone was set, the CO gave it the once over before nodding to the demo specialist… He pushed the button.

*

Dherris was nervous to say the least during the whole ordeal. Firstly Cutra seemed a bit overly aggressive and hostile towards the Prince. Secondly she slipped and mentioned his name rather than the cover name she had given him, fortunately the Prince either didn’t pick up on the slip or didn’t care. So far though, it appeared that this Prince was much more willing to work out terms between rivaling supernaturals.

Things took a turn to the dark side though when Shey walked in… and announced the death of Brian. Dherris had though he had felt a shift in the Shadow earlier but suppressed the shiver that wanted to go through him then. His face did darken though at the news and shot Cutra a concerned look. That meant one pack was down for the count… Were those human hunters responsible for this as well? Dherris shook his head at the thought. Things were only getting worse and wors…

The floor underneath the archmage’s seats suddenly lurched upward with a rumbling explosion only to swiftly be fall back down into the dark sewer tunnels dragging the mages with it. Dherris groaned pain from his landing, his ears ringing and his sight foggy from a blow he took to the head in the fall as well as dust that was kicked up. He got up to look for Cutra when bullets started flying around him.

His attention now drawn to the nearest armored black soldier, he focused on attacking the man’s life pattern… only to crumple to the ground in pain as the Abyss lashed out at him. His disguise spells unraveled and his red eyes returned… His hands developed into claws now, bringing him one step further along his demonic decent. The TFV agents didn’t care though and shot to try and kill the mages as soon as they collapse stopped before the mages could get oriented enough to actually retaliate… To take them out before they could use their magic if they had survived the fall and rubble that is…

*Cutra had saw that the her actions had began to get to the prince this brought forth a smirk and she turned back toward her the other mages. Moving back she shivered she felt something was extremely wrong. She shook it off as she saw Dherris express his concerns, she shivered again greatly. She felt the floor buckle underneath her and she felt a falling sensation. Cutra winces as pain shot through her body she had fallen on something. She gasp for breath and out of pain. Looking up she saw Dherris stand and his demonic bonds take over his body. She tried to move but she couldn’t something was resting on her body something heavy. Her vision was to hazy to tell what it was and she felt her head was pounding hard, lifting her hand to her head she heard bullets ringing out about her. She looked seeing black soldiers down the sewers from them. How had the found them, so quickly. Why had nothing gone right, she cough and saw blood speckle her hand. Looking she felt a bullet nick her she wince and whimpered in pain. As she gathered her magic through all her pain and lifted the heavy piece of flooring and sent it flying toward the armed soldiers, she knelt on one knee panting softly. Cutra hand went to her aching side, she had fallen on something sharp and it had punctured her. She felt the warm blood on her hand, she coughed again trying to stand but could not. The situation had gone from bad to worst. She looked and saw no other mage around.* “Dherris…Dhe..” She managed to stand weakly as more of the floor had fallen around her some of it hitting her. Coughing hard in the dust she looked up able to see them, but felt a sharp pain pierce her leg, had she been shot. She looked seeing several laser points on her, she suddenly looked and hissed loudly, before yelling.* “I WON’T DIE THIS WAY!” *Her voice roared as several of the men had been taken under the water, she was having difficulties holding her focus she wouldn’t be able to keep this up for long. Her vision blacked as she shuddered with pain barely able to breath as she gasp again and her body slide down the wall, her body looking eerily her skin as pale as death, her eyes fluttered as she struggled to help in the fight, but her body wasn’t able to hold up in these conditions.*
(Didn’t know were to go with my post, so this will have to do.)

Enoch couldn't help but feel a rising anger in his chest at the Mage's attitude, this whole thing was spiralling out of control. They had little to no time to be constantly at each others throats over such trivial matters. He opened his mouth to speak but suddenly felt a shudder go through the building as the floor gave way beneath them.

His eyes widened slightly, his reflexes taking hold of him. He fell to the sewers below, the splash of his landing outdone by the sounds of gunfire. He could smell gunpowder and magic. He whipped around without hesitation, three blades flying from his hands into three different soldiers. He jerked to the side when a bullet came within an inch of his head.

This place was too dangerous, everything was falling apart and they were caught unaware. He knew they had to get out and fast. He turned quickly to see Cutra falling against a wall. He narrowed his eyes and dashed towards her, grabbing her up in his arms and carrying her down the opposite tunnel. As much as he despised the woman for all of in hostility, they would need her. Hoping that all of the others would follow his example he dashed away from the fight, knowing others lay in wait elsewhere in the labrynth.

**********************

Memnoch turned instantly when he felt the rumble of the ground and seen a large chunk of the Mage's hall collapse.

Sewers

He pressed the button on the device in his ear, "all units, available or otherwise, make an immediate haste to the sewers near the Mage's hall, the Prince is in danger, immediately, prepare for a fight boys."

With that he was down in the sewers via a manhole. He landed between two different startled soldiers, he snapped their necks with ease before they could react and was gone, hurrying towards the sounds of fighting.

Since everyone had now gathered, Xavier secretly wished that the meeting would not be delayed any further. He had a lesson with a new student on the basics of hand to hand combat in 20 minutes. More importantly however, was the fact that he had a lady friend who flew into town earlier the evening for an important board meeting, and he had promised to take her out for a drink before she headed out again the following morning.

“Thank my stars I took a vow of poverty, and not one of celibacy.” He smirked to himself.

He leaned over to Rowan: “Rowan, would you be able to loan me…” he stopped mid-sentence, a concerned look forming quickly on his face. He had picked up a ‘sensation’ through one of his spells that could only be described as an electromagnetic disturbance, followed by a vibration of sorts. He barely realized what was happening, when the ground lifted beneath his feat and sent him crashing down to the level below. He managed to grab onto the side of one of the ledges, and hung there for almost a full second before it gave way under his weight. Spinning his body around with the agility of a cat, he landed on his feet, stumbling however on the loose cement and slicing his arms on shards of cement as he tried to stabilize himself. As soon as the dust had cleared, bullets started whizzing past his head and he lunged toward a large outcrop of fallen cement and wedged himself against it, using it as cover. Feeling someone behind him he turned to find Rowan. He had one hand on Dherris’s arm and was trying to pull him back to where they were hiding. Rowan had a gash on his forehead and blood covered his face in a ghastly fashion. Xavier grabbed at Dherris, who was writhing in pain, and helped Rowan pull him closer. Rowan shouted over the gunfire “I felt him try to reach out with his magic, and then he just crumpled up…” “We have to move.” shouted Xavier as a bullet flew past his arm grazing him. Rowan’s hand suddenly flew to his face as he grabbed his head in pain, blood coming from his nose. “Aaaaaaagghh” was all me managed to say as he spat out some blood in the process. “Something is obstructing our magic.”

Rowan had an idea… “Xavier, I know you have that little spell of yours on at all times. We need some help down here!”

Rowan knew immediately what he meant, and utilizing his connection to his students, Rowan translated in seconds what would have taken minutes to translate in human speech. His last attempt to control the minds of one of the TFV agents had recoiled and backfired, so much so, it actually shut off his multitasking spell, so he’d have to broadcast his message to all of his students instead of assigning tasks individually and simultaneously as he normally would.

“The Council chamber has been breached, we are one level below in the sewers and the enemy is using some kind of magic resistant field.” Rowan noticed that everyone was standing ankle deep in the water, everyone except them who were on top of – and between - the rubble. “Get a few of the Arrows into the Council Chamber and do it fast. Tell them we need a serious jolt of electricity into the water. The rest of you, find the underground passages the enemy used. They must have an escape route with help standing by. You may find that they don’t appear at all on your scans, as they seem to be resistant to our magic. That’s how you will find them, look for dead spots. I want them caught, tracked, or killed. In that order otherwise all of the above. And remember, magic seems to bounce off them, so indirect magics only. And alert the vampires and lycan’s of ours situation.” “Yes Master Rowan.” came the simultaneous response from his students in the building.

“It’s done.” Shouted Rowan as he turned to Xavier, who looked like he was about to make a dash for one of the soldiers. “Hold on, they’re on their way.”
Moments later 3 mages appeared through a portal into the Council chamber. Immediately two of them took up safe positions, so as to not expose themselves to enemy fire.

“Close your eyes.” The words appeared in Rowan’s mind in a flash. Placing his hand over Dherris’s eyes, he shouted to Xavier over the gunfire. “Flash!”

An energy burst of light materialized with such intensity, Rowan could see it through his closed eyelids and even feel the warmth of it on his skin. It lasted for a full two seconds before it stopped and both Xavier and Rowan opened their eyes and waiting for their eyesight to adjust to the darkness. Giving the agents almost no chance to recover the first mage, with the help of the second, redirected an arc of intense blue electricity from one of the power conduits through one of the holes in the floor and into the water below. The third mage, one of Rowan’s students, joined him and using Space magic, cast a ward over their exposed position, banning any new kinetic energy from entering the Council Chamber and canceling out the possibility that any of them get hit by an aimed bullet. More mages started appearing through the portal.

"We need to find their leader and revive him if he's still alive. Dherris may be able to help." Rowan whispered in Xavier's ear. "I'm not sure of the Prince's methods, but as you know, mine are by far more effective."

*Cutra felt something or someone touch this frightened her she didn’t know who it was. She went to hit them, but stopped seeing it was the prince. The one she had tormented so much, the one she had accused. He was helping her, she was surprised. She looked and winced looking back tears streaking her face.* “I won’t leave with out Dherris.” *She managed to gasp out, she looked pushing some of her weight onto the prince. She wasn’t in any condition to fight and she knew this all to well.* “I won’t leave not until I know the other mages, are safe and following us or fleeing.” *She tried to fight the Prince to get back to them, but couldn’t she winced, as she looked up.* “Thank you, I’m sorry…for my behavior.” *She managed to sputter out before she started coughing again, blood coming up again, she had to get out of here…or she would die, not from the fight but from the injuries she had already acquired. She looked and shivered and managed a few signs out, bringing a flurry of dust around the mages and through the hole giving them a chance to get away.*

*Her mana was as exhausted as she was, she grabbed him and started coughing.* “Prince Enoch, go…I’ll hold them off.” *In effort to get back to Dherris, but before she could say much of anything else her mind slipped to black, and she was out cold…having lost conscious, her body slumped in his arms. Her fate was in his hands until she came to.*

Shey took all there words of remorse and condolences with polite nod of her head as the only real acknowledgement her mind already filing away the whole incident into the back of mind. Some place where she would be able to deal with it all later if she ever got around to dealing with it, at the moment she was trying to be polite and not snarl at those who kept giving their condolences for the lost of Brian and talking about coming to a peace with the Vampires and the Lycan. As far as she was concerned that peace was reached at the last meeting she was forced to attend and as promised she had her pack cease and desist all vampire hunting and attacks. If they were just going to be going over the same bullshit as before then she was not going to stick around for the end of this meeting either. Jack was back at the hospital waiting for her, as well as all of the damage control that had to happen with the incident with Brian and his pack. Basically what it came down to was that she had a lot better things to do then to sit here and listen to this stuff all over again. As her patience was just about to wear thin she felt the slightest bit of tremble beneath her feet, causing her head to snap up from where it had been resting within her palms her gold eyes locking with Ethon’s green when the floor beneath the Mages table gave way as a shockwave shook the entire building.

Shey’s rage was so total and all consuming she barely had time to prepare for her change as she shifted completely to her Wereform. Poor Ethon was not prepared for the power of her change nor her range and found himself dragged along in a transformation his snarls mingling with that of his Alpha’s as they leapt in unison and landed down in the hole where the humans were firing at the mages. Blurs of furry mass moved and soon they were amongst the humans slashing at them and tossing them around like they were nothing but rag dolls, their rage allowing them to ignore the bullets that assaulted their flesh. As the mages reinforcements arrived Shey and Ethon jumped to the ceiling clinging to the stone as the waters was electrified, still both lycans knew what the hunters were capable of and also knew that such an attack would slow them but not stop them. Releasing from the wall and stone and landing on top of one of the soldiers she snarled out, “They are not so easily beaten!” as she watched in a mixture of rage and horror as the hunters began to regain their footing.

Sasha had grown bored with her wandering of the streets, none of her recent conquests seemed to entertain her as much as that male she had last night. She still shivered a bit from the memory of all the delicious lust she was able to draw off of him as he seemed to have an unlimited supply. It was almost more then she could take in one session after so many years spent without it. Now though she had begun to crave his essence and his touch once more making her home in on his life signature that was like a fingerprint for her and allowed for her to navigate the busy city streets, her step light with anticipation. It did not take too long before she found him amongst something that was very interesting, humans were attacking the mages and using Abyssal energy to boot. Grinning from ear to ear she made her way down into the sewers using the extra amount of power to boost her own till she was able to mask completely as one of those mage people allowing her to get to her prize, “Here master I’ll take him for you while you check the area.” she spoke simply to the mage who seemed to be in charge who seemed too preoccupied at the moment to really think as he handed over the object of my obsession. Slowly she began to with draw from the chaos as the two large werewolves in the chaos continued to assault the human soldiers, calling out “They are not so easily beaten!” which was when the humans began to get back up slowly but they were getting back up and they were firing again.

Jack sghed contently and sagged into the hospital bed, unable to really comprehend just what he had committed to. There was nothing he wanted more than to spend his years with the object of an esoteric love. He grinned ruefully as he recalled the age old story of Romeo and Juliet. Their love had been pure and yet look what had happened to them. A sudden knot forming in his stomach shoved Shakespeare's famous tragedy from thought and he felt cold resolve settle and mix with the fire that made up his feelings for Shey. He sighed. The mere nuance of fate and the intervention of that strange creature had changed his life forever and he wasn't sure what to think about that. Jack let his mind slip back, before he met Shey, before he discovered the strange unseen World of Darkness and the Bloody Shadows that stalked it. He was young and naive but proudly so. He had graduated from the Solace police acadamy with flying colors, just like his father before him and the rest of his life was looking great. There were always the little oddities, people being found dead or decapitated, bitten and mauled or hell, in some cases even crushed by a 'An unidentifiable influx of extreme force' all hidden from the public by rumors of serial crushers and and wandering psycho paths. Then, that one fateful day when the carefully constructed world he lived in collapsed to the squeak of a marker on a bathroom stall, he started a whole new life, one filled with danger, fiction turned flesh and everything that was supposedly untrue about the world he lived in now breathing down his neck. And....Just then, years after the foundations of his being had been shaken down, he wondered where he would be if he hadn't Awakened, if life had continued as normal, no Witch Hunters to avoid, Vampires to fight, Lycans to make peace with, Magi to watch or Demons to kill, just an ordinary, normal life. But, for all the **** he had been through, all the scars and wounds and pain were worth what he recieved. The people he'd helped, the friends he'd made and the love he'd found, they made up the new life he had created in the ****ing up world that hid behind a facade of normality and prowled just out of view of the ignorant masses. A huge crack and the shaking of the ground beneath Jack snapped him back to the present. Sliding down from the bed, he peered out the window to see a pillar of smoke and dust rising in the distance. He turned to the towering lycan known as Bear.

"I get the feeling that whatever the hell caused that blast has something to do with that meeting Shey was talking about."

Enoch sighed as Cutra all but babbled in his ear. He smiled to himself slightly at her apology and gratitude. Her last wish before she passed out completely was that she needed to help Dherris. Once he was a reasonable distance away he set her down on a dry spot of the ground. He placed her comfortably, or as much as he could.

He sighed again and turned back down the way he came and rushed down it quickly. Within no time he was at the battle, werewolves, magic, and all manner of weaponry shrapnel was flying every direction. Enoch grabbed the first human he could find and slammed him into the wall with brutal force. He twisted around, his sword out in a moment and brought down through the neck of another one. He kicked the next assailant, sending him backwards into a large group of other humans.

Memnoch was there suddenly, a large grin painted on his face as he stared at Enoch. Enoch nodded towards him as if to say "go right on ahead." Needing no more enticment, Memnoch drew his weapons and was immediately in the throng of another group of mortals. Within seconds the sounds of screams and bodies being torn into mixed with the other sounds.

Enoch glanced around, he was doing what he could, breaking all the humans up into manageble groups for the others to dispatch. Nonetheless he knew that this was a losing battle for them, they were overtaken by numbers and the humans suprising arsenal. H

He turned to Dherris, yelling over the din, "Cutra is a half a mile down this tunnel, out cold, possibly dying. Her last wish before she passed out was for you to live," he turned and cut down a mortal and grabbed another by the throat, "shouldn't you be leaving by now?"

With that he tore the man's throat and stepped back, he knew they would have to push all they had for now to be able to even get out of here. The only advantage he had at the moment was the large amount of shadows in the place, he would have to take advantage of that.

((sorry it has taken me so long... My RL has been a little messed up as of late))

Dherris could have sworn he heard his name in amongst the roar of gunfire and clattering debris but his world seemed so hazy he wasn’t sure. He continued struggling to stand against the pain (and better judgment considering the gunfire). He so Cutra… but only for a moment before a human-like form blocked his sight of her and then both were gone, the figure and Cutra. He felt himself being dragged and then the garbled voices of the archmages as they tried to formulate a plan. A hand covered his eyes and the edges of a bright light seemed to shine through but after the momentary shock Dherris quickly pulled the hand from his face.

The agents hadn’t been so lucky and found themselves partially blinded thank to their goggles but it didn’t save them from the electrical jolt they were given. They fell to the ground for a moment as motor control of their muscles was lost but they were quick to recover. Fighting through the pain and tingling that the electricity left behind. Unfortunately the vampires and werewolves seized upon the situation and started wreaking their own havoc.

The TFV agents did their best to retaliate; one turning to shoot the werewolf that had pounced a nearby soldier while another man covered him, and the one mage that hadn’t taken cover at the hole’s rim was riddled with a few rounds. However, things were getting too chaotic, to out of control and too many men were being lost so the CO made a call. “Fall back and regroup!” He shouts as he pulls something free of his vest and tosses it towards the supernaturals. “Flash out!” He calls out as the solar flash-bang sails through the air before going off. Against vampires the light would prove highly damaging if not fatal (since it mimics the sun’s EM signature) but against everything else it would act like a normal flash-bang grenade.

Dherris was being helped to his feet and led off by someone though he wasn’t sure who (his vision was still a bit hazy)… They felt vaguely familiar to him but he couldn’t place it. His mind though focused quickly when Enoch came before him and told him where Cutra was… and more importantly her condition. Dherris pulled away from whoever was aiding him and went into a staggered run in the direction that the Prince had indicated, a bright flash and resounding bang erupted as he entered the passage.

He was worried about the idea of Cutra might be dying and as far as he knew he was the only Life mage who might be close enough to save her. He caught himself against the wall for a second as he almost fell over but he pressed on. It was only a matter of time before he found Cutra’s bloody form. He could all ready tell she was in a bad condition and wasted no time going over to her. He prepared a healing spell but when he reached out to touch her and send the spell coursing through her, he faltered. His clawed hand surprised him and made him nervous but somehow he retained the spell and found the courage to finishing casting it. “Cutra?” He said nervously unsure of whether or not he really made it in time. In the darkness, his red eyes seemed to glow slightly and add in the dangerous looking claws it made him look a lot more sinister and dangerous than he actually was…

*Cutra felt her body touch the cold stone she had been placed down. She was out of the princes arms. Her body laid slumped on the wall. She was away from the battle, at least for now. Her eyes fluttered under her eyelids. Her mind then fell into a fit full dream. *

*Cutra awoke, in the sewers, seeing a bright white light at the end of it. Was she dead she thought to herself, that wasn‘t possible was it. Looking down the tunnel she saw her family and started running from toward them but with no success, they just keep getting farther and farther away. Soon she heard a voice hearing her name. Turning she saw her dead brother, shivering slightly. Soon the white light turned blood red. She looked as her brother lunged and tried to tackle her to the ground. She pushed him away, she looked as he feel back in a hiss. But his eyes weren‘t his but that of one of the demons that haunted her dreams. Soon it was completely black, and flames shot up around her hearing the screams of dieing men, women and there children. The demon keepers laughing and beating them. She felt the hot flames licking at her body.

*She was woke from the dream by a healing sensation, rush and course through her body. There was a sweat across her brow, and she was unsure, what the feeling was. She coughed, her body still battered and bruised. Her eyes fluttered, slightly under the sensation. Shivering she grasped her arm, and gasped for air almost like she had been deprived of it. Looking she whimpered softly and grasped her side, wincing softly in pain. Looking up at him, she grabbed his claw like arm and twisted hard.* “Dherris, Dherris is that you?” *She looked up at him through the haze and blinked. She tried to pull him and shook softly and pulls her body to him and hugs him crying as she coughed once more, still coughing up small amounts of blood.*

*Though the healing spell had worked, it had not fully healed her body. She felt the tears streaking down her face, as she pulled back and kissed him softly and looked into this reddened eyes.* “Dherris, I’m scared…I know that I’m the head mage, and I know that I’m supposed to know what to do, but I don’t…We weren’t meant to fight. I didn’t want the mages, in the war…And who knows how many people are gonna, die because I refused, to listen.” *She spoke out quietly and hung her head in shame as she tried to push her body up slowly and winced in pain. Soon the healing spell took affect and began to heal most of her wounds though her body still ached in pain.*

*Looking to him she blinked, and collapsed to him, breathing slowly she couldn’t keep her balanced, and she did know were she was.* “How did I get here?” *She slumped against the wall, once more and took in a long drawn breath.* “We should get going before we get found.” *She looked and leaned onto his shoulder and head in the direction of the fight.*

Rowan looked around at what was slowly starting to become a bloody battlefield. The water was stained red in places, as Enoch cut down soldier after soldier, dispersing of them with unnatural ease. He smiled to himself as he saw the Prince’s bodyguard lunge into half a dozen men without even the slightest hesitation. Rowan had foreseen the inevitability of an attack at too clearly. If he had to be completely honest with himself, the probability of the attack went through the roof right after the Prince allowed rumours of the meeting to escape his control. Something the Prince evidently did not seem to regret. Silently Rowan was content his instincts had been spot on. He conceded however that he had underestimated the human’s will to succeed. The force, speed and tenacity of their attack, had dealt them a blow they all would be remembered for a long time. But things as they were could not longer proceed in this way.

Rowan communicated mentally to his students:
“Susceptors, I want all cells to report in immediately. You will remain in hiding and track the enemy using everything that is available to you. As always, Susceptors report directly to me and only to me. No communicating between each other even if it means another cell could be in trouble. I know I'm repeating what you already know, but this may be our most cunning enemy yet. Scour the passages ahead and find me their exit point. I want tracking on their vehicles and reports on their movements. Argos; contact the media first, and then contact the local authorities. There has been a ‘Terrorist attack’ on the building. You know the drill. Report back to me as soon as you have their exit location.”

Rowan’s trained eye’s spotted the TFV leader, ducking and weaving through the fray with a finesse gained only from years of intense training. His eyes were constantly watching their flanks and studying his opponents while barking orders to his men in between each breath.

Rowan turned to Xavier. “Hold still…”

Rowan had a cold determined look in his eyes as he singled out the unique individual and without taking his eyes from his target whispered to Xavier: “Keep them busy as best you can Xavier.” Xavier felt the movement of Prime around him as Rowan cast two protection spells over him.

Xavier knew better than to question Rowan, but the cold look Rowan gave him, reminded him of something… he just couldn’t put his finger on it. Casting the Unseen Shield spell on himself, Xavier jumped up from behind cover, sprinting for the nearest soldier and using who’ ever and whatever he could as cover. Bullets seemed to curl around him as every shot was a near miss. He made his way over to the same group of soldiers Enoch was busy dispatching and dove right into the fray. His martial arts skill was almost legendary and few excelled like he did in hand to hand combat. Xavier defeated his opponents one by one, while ensuring he was always close enough to the next combatant for anyone to get an accurate shot at him.

Rowan was about to break cover to move towards the TFV leader when he suddenly pulled out a grenade or chucked it into the air shouting 'flash', leaving everyone with only moments to respond. Xavier seeing the grenade flying in his direction, sent the soldier he was grappling flying into the flashbang. Realizing there wasn’t enough time to cast a spell, Rowan remained hidden behind the fallen debris, since it provided him adequate cover. Eye shut and fingers in his ears, he waited for the inevitable loud bang.

Just as Shey had predicted the soldiers stood back up and began unleashing hell upon them all once again. Caught up in her rage she became reckless as she charged soldiers, not even caring for the rounds fired at her, though some how still able to dodge those bullets without much issue. Some of them grazing her, others missing her entirely as she slashed and bit her way through the ranks of the humans, wanting to taste their blood, needing to hear them scream in pain for the pain they had caused her family. Busy crushing a soldier slowly to death she was not paying attention to the world around her, instead her entire focus was on the squirming individual in her claws and sick sense of satisfaction coming to her from the sounds of his bones breaking before her might. A shot rang out that for some reason drew her attention in time to turn and look as the bullet came flying her way, instantly knowing that there was no way she was going to dodge the silver projectile as it came speeding through the air at her. Tossing the soldier to the ground she turned to face her fate, fangs bared gold eyes hard with intent and anger as she snarled out to the bullet as if daring to strike her.

A flash a red fur crossed her field of vision making her howl in anger and remorse as she watched Ethon take the bullet. His large form staggering back into her, as she caught him and eased him down to the ground. As she was about to give case to the retreating humans she heard them call out something about a flash, without really thinking or knowing why she went to the new prince and tackled him to the ground, covering him with her larger form as the device went off causing her to bury her sensitive eyes in the crock of her arm as she waited for it to end. Suddenly everything fell silent as she slowly lifted her eyes, seeing that the humans had retreated and that they were left alone for the moment. Pushing up off of the prince she looked down at him for a moment to insure he was unharmed, giving him a brief nod before she made her way back over to Ethon who had reverted back to his human form. Whimpering she knelt at his side as she looked at the bleeding wound in his chest. “Pull out the bullet Shey.” He said in barely whisper as she nodded and took her claws to use them to dig out the silver. Hissing as it burned her fingers still she continued till she had the bullet between her fingers, snarling as she threw it away from them. Looking back down at Ethon she whined a bit, “You did not have to do that I was prepared to meet my fate.” her tone gruff as she gently ran a clawed hand through his hair. Ethon just smiled and shook his head, “And leave that human mage to go mad with grief over your death, not to mention how the pack would have almost certainly crumbled without you.” He said with a small smile on his face as his green eyes looked deeply into her own, “You are my alpha I could not let you die, could not let you give up so easily.” He says as he coughed a bit of blood now trickling down his lips, “You rest and focus on healing. We will get you out of here.” her tone still gruff though the gentleness was more then evident.

Sasha could not have possibly believed her luck as her prize had stopped to save some twit of a mage, judging from his body’s reaction to her she could almost swear there was some kind of an attraction between the two. Great, that just made everything all the more complicated then it needed to be, once she healed Sasha figured that then she and her new toy could slip away but that woman seemed to have other plans. “Follow me. I know where we could all go to be safe from this place.” she spoke up quickly grabbing hold of the male’s hand, sending a bit of her power into him to make him comply, as she led them away with her down the sewers. Not sure of where they were going to go, but at some point she was going to have to find a way to ditch the mage, looking down at the male’s hand in her own an idea came to her as she realized that he was becoming more demonic and the others of his kind would not stand for that. If this woman claimed to care for him then she should be willing to try and protect him, it was a long shot but it was all she could think of at the moment.

Getting to an exit she paused her thick luscious hair spilling over her shoulder as she turned looking at the other woman, “M’lady I know you are the head mage of the council and therefore you will be needed to help and insure everyone’s safety. Without you here the council will be severely weakened, which could bring harm to all the mages in this city. You need to stay here and help everyone else, I will take him….” she nodded toward Dherris, “somewhere he can rest and recuperate and give him a chance to fight off the taint in his blood before the other mages find out. You know that if they see him like this they will kill him on the spot. Even you with all of your great power could not stand against the rest of council in this manner, its best to give him a chance to return to normal before anything else happens.” Sasha says as she allowed some of her power, strengthened still by the recent abyssal activities to help the other woman realize this to be a very good choice that could save the man she seemed to love. All Sasha had to do was make her see the logic in the decision by altering a few key bodily chemicals in the brain to make her agree to the plan, “Once he is all better I will contact you so that you can come to see him and we can figure out a way to bring him back in safely.” she says her power still steadily working on making the other woman complacent. Looking to Dherris she arched her eyebrows a bit trying to get him to agree to the plan as well, still using a bit of her power on him as well.

Jack slid out from the elevated hospital bed, unplugging the EKG machine he was hooked up to. Slowly, he stretched cramped and stiff muscles that had been constrained in the deep folds of the bed. Taking a slow, steady breath, he let magic flow through his body, feeling the unique euphoria of the act. Power. That was what he felt. The power given to him to change what he wanted, when he wanted. Jack had always liked having power beyond what normal people had. Whether it was being a cop or learning to wield magic, he had always known and accepted that he was more than a regular person, in some way better. Sobering words of his father echoed through his mind. They had been up late, talking in the manner of a son and father engaged in the same line of work. Speaking of hardness and aggravation with ineffective or backwards rules and requirements that came with being an officer of the law.
"Son, what most people don't realize is that, for all our trying, the twin brother of power is and always will be responsibility. Some of the worst and most reviled leaders are that way because they accepted power, but weren't ready to accept the responsibility that came with it. Don't make the same mistake Jackie. Don't." He was right.

Dad.....Dad was always right.....I miss you so much.... A violent shaking snapped him back to the present. Disconnecting the plugs and pads monitoring his heart and vital signs, he made his way over to the window, past the towering lycant to peer out onto the city that he had twice over sworn to protect. Sighing, he ran a hand through his black mane and spoke aloud.

"Shey, what the hell have you gotten yourself into now?" A sudden click brought his attention around to the solitary door as a tall, foreboding figure in a dark black suit and blocker shades diverted a nurse from the room before darting back to where he couldn't be seen. Something gnawed at him about that, this strange man in the dark clothing. Jack turned to Bear, indicating with a thrust of his head the open window.

"I think its about time we got going don't you? C'mon, I've got you." He pushed his newly charged mana reserve to help support the juggernaut and himself as he climbed easily over the window ledge, the giant's weight on his back no object.

"Just uh, don't look down. Think of it like spider-man." Touching hands and feet to the flat wall, he allowed Force to flow from his finger and toe tips, changing the surface tension between the two to allow him to cling to the flat surface like the super hero he had mentioned. He scaled down the wall, thankful for the secluded back parking lot the window over looked. Finally, he touched the ground and let a throughly shaken Bear from off his back.
"See? Its not so bad." The two took off towards the source of the massive shaking and pillar of smoke. He blinked as he felt a harsh chilly draft waft up and through the back-side of his hospital gown. Scowling, he tripped the lock on a clothes donation bin, rifling through the dirty and tattered clothes within, he tugged on a servicable pair of jeans and a relatively new shirt, but he was left with the stiff and uncomfortable hospital slippers. Grunting, he shut and relocked the bin before rushing off towards the meeting place.
Please, please, please be ok.

Bear had snarled as he felt and sensed the presence in the room, but before he could do anything about it Jack had him on his back and was climbing down the wall very much like spiderman. Now Bear is a fairly tough and brave guy, but something about a guy less then half his size carrying him down the mountain side was enough to make him more then a little nervous. As their feet touched the ground he sighed in relief thanking Gaia for protecting him from the insane human at his side. "Shey is going to kill us.....you know that?" But all he got in answer was a amused smile and soon they were running heading to the mage council building.

Bear could help but chuckle at Jack's problem with being basically naked in the hospital gown. "You should have stayed naked it might help our chances when we face Shey." He teased though he did not press the issue knowing how worried the man must have been for his mate, Bear himself was worried not only for her but Ethon as well; knowing the man had a thing for the heroics from time to time. As they got to the building he could not contain the snarl as he caught whiff of a scent that would haunt him for the rest of his life. Those same ****ing animals that had hurt his pack were here and probably the cause of all the blood he could smell and the explosion. Fangs growing as he held up a hand to Jack, "Those men are here....the ones who hurt the pack." He snarled out as he moved slowly into the debry, grabbing hold of a huge section of the building gritting his teeth as he lifted and shifted it out of the way so the two of them could enter, his eyes, nose and ears open for signs of friend or foe.

*Cutra nodded slowly as the women began to speak to her. It had made since, but she didn't want Dherris to leave her. Giving a sigh she had away from them holding back tears, and went back toward the fight leaning on the wall heavily. She felt pain in her heart. That foul women take Dherris away, anger flared through her.*

*When she reached the other mages, most of the agents had retreated...leaving the vampires, werewolves, and the mages. Not many of them had taken on that much damage or wounds. She was slighty worried she spoke out.* "Dherris, is going with a women to go rest, and recover." *She looke her voice, strained with pain, and sowwor and tried to hide it from the group felling weak already she slip down the wall and sat down, her heart pained as if a dagger had been stabbed through it. She waited for everyone else to decide what they would do she wasn't up to her job, not know. She breathed raspily.*
