Alex had been hanging around the city for some time with his mother, wandering around this peaceful place, although in some areas you could cut the tension with a knife. It had been a while since an attack had managed to get close to the city, which only meant that one would not be very far away. Alex however, was not one to overly worry about the inevitable, the former soldier, scar covered, and missing his left arm, and all equipment still on his person wandered the streets of San-Larona, listening to the wildlife which had blossomed around their oasis in a world of war. It seemed that the world was finally beginning to try and rebuild itself after the scorched earth policies of the Immaculate had left much of the world as little but an extending barren wasteland which spread as far as the eye could see. Giving mankind very little chance to survive in the wilds. However, in recend days, the replication of much of the Immaculate technology in the hands of men in the Allied Republic, meant that their secrets were slowly coming undone. Gravity well technology, as well as unique charged particles and other highly advanced technologies were being developed by human hands with the help of the few surviving immaculate and flawless which lived peacefully in San-Larona, though under a large degree of surveillance... Among these immaculate, was Alexs' mother, working as one of the many scientific and military advisers among the country, as well as leading her own program to perfect the Immaculate genome, rendering the pious and often prone to violent race into her own state of benevolent god-complex, a task which had come a long way, but had no shortage of hiccups, both morally, and scientifically.
Holding a pay-packet from a contract job, Alex had managed to get enough to allow him to get by for the next little while, having performed a weeks worth of mobile scout duty in a stock standard arch-angel for enough money to support his own lifestyle, medication, food, shelter and first aid medication and enough to pay the last of the bills off for Castiels' repair job. As he was no longer signed with the military, it meant that he had none of the restrictions, but he had also lost all of the benefits of being in service, like free repair of the mecha, and free medical care.
Arriving at the hangar, Alex handed the pay packet over to the engineers at the service desk, who smiled and began to lead Alex toward the public hangar. Opening up, Alex looked across the mecha of pirates, ex soldiers, businessmen and many many others who had their machines stored in this area. The engineer walked and talked at the same time, telling Alex about what had happened to his Mecha, saying that the sorcerers here analyzed that something in Castiels' core had changed, and that the power within which would normally be routed to the supporting systems had reduced dramatically. Alex nodded, he had heard about what other people called 'falling,' and it only made sense that something like that which had happened to the two of them would be enough for Castiel to go through the same thing, Alex felt very much the same...
Looking up at his dormant Mecha, Alex rested his hand on the steel, looking up at its grandeur. The Mechanic unlocked the clasps which held it firm and unable to escape should Alex have tried to run off with the machine, not that simple bonds would have stopped an Aspect mecha should he have gotten into the pilots' seat. Thanking the man, Alex climbed the ladder to the hangar, pressing his palm to a panel on the side, the door opened wide, allowing Alex to step in. Inside, it was everything he remembered, fully repaired. Though he could still remember precisely where the shrapnel had torn through here, where the flames erupted from, where the tear in the shell had ripped open... as if it were only yesterday. Smiling and shaking off his darker thoughts, Alex booted up Castiel and his systems one by one, testing the power and looking at the Mechas' overall performance. Unlike before, it seemed the core was giving a lot more power to the movement functions of the mecha, its speed, strength, and physical capabilities were considerably higher than they used to be, while, that power was once being siphoned to the supporting weapons systems and other utility systems...
"You're baying for blood too huh? Well, don't worry about it... We'll kill the son-ov-a-bitch which did this to the two of us, don't you worry. I'll make it happen."
Powering everything down again, alex finally took his axe back from the panel, a weapon which had not been in its holster for some time now, but it was goot to have the key to Castiel back, the mighty aspect stood int he hangar, a presence of anger around the mechanical titan as Alex opened the door and got out once again, taking his helmet off and unwrapping some of the food that he had managed to get from the store with his one arm, and beginning to eat on the ground before his mecha, looking around at the other pilots as they went about their maintenance, launching their aspects, socializing with each other, and various other activities, keeping an eye out for anything or anyone whom would naturally catch his eye... Since the accident, Alex had liked to keep his distance. The half immaculate had a bit of a name for himself around here for being a bit of a hard case in recent days.
Though he was eager to prove himself again.
To show that he wasn't just a broken Immaculate.
