Before the demons had entered, the barkeeper accepted the Faerie's coin and was about to serve her food when they had interrupted.

As the fight ensued, the captain flailed about blindly for a long moment, and when his vision had recovered, he looked around the inn dumbfounded. Not many of his men were left standing at this point, a sprite and a young boy were healing the fallen patrons. The captain sneered.

"My order stands thus!" the captain shouted, distracting one of two survivors of his chosen mates and causing him to be taken out. To the last demon standing (other than himself), he said, "Bring reinforcements! I want them all dead!"

The demon was already heading for the front door before the captain finished speaking.

~~~~~
Morys was clashing blades, fully prepared to slice the demon's insides with his free sword arm, when he became blinded. In the next moment, while still very disoriented, the Almerkian felt someone grab him by the back of his collar and forcing him to walk backwards.
His first reaction would have been to swat at the arm holding him, like a declawed kitten, but with a sword in each hand, that had potential of harming himself more than the opponent. Instead, Morys settled for cursing. He only stopped when he heard the lyrical sound of Elvish floating through his ears and head, like a soft musical mist. It soothed him somehow, and he recognized the young boy with the wind sprite as he dashed from somewhere beside him to go back inside the inn.
Morys raised a brow, wondering to himself why on earth would someone who would be no use in a fight want to re-enter a battle. On top of that, how did the kid know Elvish? He shook his head, dismissing the thought and assumed the boy was from Tuksta.
Then, at last, Morys turned to face his would-be captor. When he saw it was an Elven man, he opened his mouth to speak, but shut it again like a gasping fish. Not sure of what to say. Finally settling on silence, the Almerkian stared back at the inn wondering what was going on inside.
~~~~~

A swarm of demons, in massive numbers began filing into the inn. It quickly became more populated than ever in its twenty-three years of business, and they just continued coming in. They began drawing weapons, not even waiting for the captain's orders, and rushed all of the non-demons in the room, hungry to spill blood.

Farish had just crossed the threshold out of the inn when a sound behind him made him stop, turn around, and retrace his steps. That sounds like... footsteps, he thought, feeling nervous. As if to confirm his suspicions, Chizu crawled up onto his head and growled, barring her small fangs. A moment later, the doors burst open and demons began streaming in by the dozens. Luckily, he'd shown many of the patrons outside already, but there were still others, and they were now terribly outnumbered. So many of them, he thought. Darakus and the bald man (excluding the lesser fighters who'd managed to hold their own 'till now, but would surely be useless from here on) were the only fighters left against an army.

We have to run away, he thought. Whatever object they're looking for, they'll probably think one of the stronger guys has it. If we run and they follow... Even if these guys can beat this many foes, what will become of this inn? The fighters somehow held their own long enough for the boy to charge up his aura.

"Darakus, Mister," he called. "We can't stay here! I think they'll follow us if we leave and I might be able to get us a head start." He paused for a moment to breath deeply then started forward, toward the rough line that the demons were having trouble crossing. The boy spoke softly in Elvish, "For ill will to be restrained, life preserved, and battle ceased..." He held up his hands and formed a barrier between the demons and the others, one that spanned the width of the building. This one wasn't clear, but webbed with translucent runes and magic circles. "Great wall barrier." With the casting done, the boy spoke quickly to the other fighters. "Sound proof and nearly unbreakable, but it has a time limit. They'll probably figure out they can take the long way around it before that though, so I suggest we run now."

Your result for The Fantasy RPG Class Test...

The Witch Hunter
15% Strength, 67% Bloodlust, 10% Intelligence, 37% Spirit, 22% Vitality and 13% Agility!

Savage and deadly, the Witch Hunters use their powerful dark magic to defeat their opponents. Masters of killing and torture, the Witch Hunters will seek out other powerful magic users to slay so that they can capture their souls and summon them in battle. These dark undead magicians will blindly serve them and obey their every command! Witch Hunters have also mastered both light and dark magic, which they can use to confuse and mentally torture their foes. Witch Hunters that have strayed to the side of light may be less proficient with their dark magic; however, they can use their mastery over light to heal and create powerful illusions. In fact, these warriors can use their light in ways that no other spellcaster class can. By combining their light with dark magic, they can trap their foes in worlds of illusion where they can torment and torture their foes. Oftentimes, a few moments within the illusion can seem like an eternity, and once an opponent manages to escape from the illusion they are broken and empty shells of their former selves. Controlling enemies and forcing them to do their bidding is no trouble for Witch Hunters.

Congratulations on reaching this high class!

Drachon had ran out of the back of the inn, the man whose name he was still unsure of was cursing, but otherwise was not resisting. Farish on the other hand had broke away from the elf's grasp and before he could speak, the boy told him he was going back, that his magic would be of assitance to the others still fighting in the inn. Drachon did not try to stop the young halfling as he ran back towards the inn, he trusted the boy, and the elf believed him when he said he could look after himself. The man had stopped his cursing and was now looking at the inn, a look of confusion of his face, the elf spoke quickly, as quickly as he could while speaking english anyway. "we have no time for questions, i know of the object you carry, and it is far more dangerous than you could imagine." He glanced at the inn and had saw more demons start to pour in, when he saw a large barrier erected inside the inn. Drachon couldn't help but smile it seems that the boy has a few tricks up his sleeves.

The elf took his attention away from the inn, they need to make an escape, while the barrier would slow the demons down, they would not keep them at bay forever. He looked down the alleyway which the backdoor had taken them too, He then grabbed the man by the shoulder and before he could argue, Drachon had already began pulling him down the alley. They had just made there way out onto a street when the elf had saw a small group of four demons, they must be a scout group looking for a way around the barrier. Just as Drachon noticed the demons, they noticed them "you there, stop!" in a fluid motion that was a second nature to the elf, he had drawn his bow and notched an arrow. In two blinks of an eye, Drachon had let loose two arrows that whistled as they cut through the air, making a dull thunk as they found their place in the center of two of the demons heads.

The other two demons had already begun shouting for their brethren, and the elf could pick up the sound of their charging feet. How many were there, judging from the sound, it was at least a small army. Drachon knew that they would not be able to fend off the onslaught of demons, and that if they tried to run they would eventually be caught, they needed to hide, fast. The elf had grabbed the man and dragged him into an alley a few feet behind them. Drachon had clasped his mouth over the mans mouth and put a finger to his lips, beckoning silence. He closed his eyes and a shimmering aura started to appear, covering both of the beings. The aura soon faded and the man and elf were both rendered invisible to all but each other. The demons had soon made their way to the alley, Drachon counted at least two dozen, but he remained silent, his hand clasped tightly over the mans mouth as the demons charged down the alley, roaring with bloodlust.

Drachon waited a moment after the final demon had passed to release the man and dispel his camouflage. The elf had looked at the man and bowed, when he straightened himself, he spoke is a whisper, wary of any stray demons "Please forgive me for the rude behavior, but you must understand, i must keep that object away from those beasts " He had extended his hand, this was a human greeting, from what he understood, it was called a 'handshake'. "My name is Drachon, though the circumstances of this meeting are dark, it is a pleasurable one all the same" The elf smiled at the man warmly, he had hoped that this man would come to understand the elfs purpose behind all of this, and would join him in his cause,

Darakus heard Farish muttering the Great Wall Barrier spell and frowned. When he heard what the halfling had to say next, his smile returned "Soundproof, huh?" he asked. Knowing none of the people on this side of the barrier would understand him, he began to swear things in the demonic tongue that were he a human, he would not have known the extent of the things he was saying. Even his father, who was still hidden in his shadow, was disgusted at some of the things he had said, Jerakea didn't want to give away his location if their current enemy was a group of demons.

He ended his swearing with an incantation. Although it was still in the demonic tongue so that it seemed the entire thing was one long spell and not a string of swear words following the spell, he was fairly certain it was at least a little obvious he had been cursing. "Sralel Kapornic Aletinoc Xernel" he yelled. He had never figured out why, but this particular spell had to be said at a rather high volume to make it work, and therefore was horrible to use during an ambush. factoring in the soundproof barrier, he figured it wouldn't matter as long as his aim wasn't thrown off by-. he quickly dismissed that thought and began to concentrate.

A moment later five of the nearest demons who had been pounding on the magic wall, apparently screaming in anger, were immediately struck by hundreds of small daggers that fell from what looked like a small group of storm clouds. The screams of anger quickly turned to those of agonizing pain, and then they were silent. Not that anyone on this side of the wall could hear them scream, but Darakus was still laughing at their pain in a way that betrayed his demonic heritage.

Noticing the looks he was getting, he stopped himself in mid-cackle. "Sorry about that." he said following Farish's advice and heading toward the back. turning to the young halfling, he calmly stated the next sentence so that no one could hear it but himself, Farish and Chizu. "If you want to know why I don't engage in battles like this often, ask me when we are alone." then he walked out as if nothing had been said.

Jerakea, however had heard everything, and was a bit worried. what was making his son hold back, and where had that demonic laughter come from if he had apologized for it?

The boy was good, Sen could see that much. It was easy to see combat didn't affect his ability to perform his abilities for healing. An admirable trait for anyone, exponentially so for a young boy and his Sprite. This trust Sen sensed in the boy helped him to focus on his apparent skill; killing. It came natural to him. Swift and fluent motions of his daggers parrying blades and armor, homing in to their precise marks on his opponent's bodies. Sen could see exactly what he wanted to cut on each and every demon that came his way. A cut to a femoral artery here, a strike to the vegas nerve there; although they were demons it seemed knowledge of human body benefited Sen against these creatures as well. He did find some difficulty in locating some of their hearts but a severed head from his kukri blade works the same on nearly every being. Whoever "Sen" was, and if Sen would ever find out, one thing would be true no matter what, he was dangerous.

As the fighting died down Sen observed the scene; bodies and debris lay strewn about, tables that minutes ago were seated by fairly normal people just having a normal day were now nothing more than piles of splintered wood. Sen glanced back at the boy and gave a simple nod of approval. He didn't seem like the type of boy that needed praise but his efforts and skill shouldn't go unnoticed.

Sen placed his daggers back onto his back and sheathed his kukri back on his side. As he turned to leave he heard the trampling footsteps of more demons but before he could act, the boy had cut them off with more magic. This boy was indeed powerful and Sen came to the realisation that he might be able to help with his memories. But that was a discussion for later. For now the boy was right and everyone needed to escape. The Wolf however seemed unable to contain himself and had to get one last jab at the demons through a spell of raining daggers. "Definitely keeping an eye on that one..." Sen thought to himself as he followed the boy outside.

Once outside the coolness of the rain was a welcome feeling. The heat of battle seemed to be washed away but was short lived by the sounds of more footsteps pounding the ground in the groups' direction. Sen looked to the others then back at the boy. "Unless you can do that again, I suggest we keep moving. This is not the most advantageous spots for combat."

That was... unnecessary... Farish thought, as Darakus just had to get the last blow in their battle. It wasn't his intention to make their foes sitting ducks for such spells, but there was little he could do about it now. Besides, their focus had to be on getting away. He, Darakus, and the bald man (and of course, Chizu) made their way out the back door where they were struck by the continuing rain. They could hear more rapid footsteps in the distance and the boy shook his head at the bald man. "No. I could, but trust me: that spells much more useful indoors."

The boy noticed, of course, that Drachon and the other man were gone. "See if you can find a good escape route, and our friends," he whispered to Chizu, and the sprite took off into the air. The half-elf dared to stay put for a brief moment or two, focused intently on listening through the rain. Meanwhile, Chizu circled in the air until she felt a surge of aura and was able to locate the elf and human tucked, hiding, in a back ally.

"Fa-chan! Mitsukete! Koko ni iru zo!" Chizu called over the wind and rain. The wind, being inclined to aid its sprites, carried the words to her companion.

"That way," the boy proclaimed, pointing down the ally. He dashed off toward the sound of Chizu's voice, confident the others were following.

After Chizu gave her message, she swooped down and landed on the re-appeared elf man's shoulder, seeming to smile at him.

A group of the demons noticed the innkeeper, bartender, and a lone fairy that was sitting at the bar. Luckily for them, this fresh meat was on their side of the invisible wall.

"Boss said to kill them all," one demon pointed out.

"Aye he did," said another with a dangerous hunger in his voice.

As the group of demons closest to the bar began surrounding the small helpless group, others were still trying to break down the invisible wall, the captain amongst them. He knew how important the object was to Chaos, and that failure was not an option!

~~~~~
Morys continued to stare at the inn, when the Elven man spoke to him, Morys had a hard time focusing on him. A million bleak memories were swarming through his mind from his past. He blinked twice when the Elf mentioned the object he held, offered his hand, and introduced himself. Morys nodded absently and accepted it. "I am called Morys," he said simply, as he shook the Elven man's hand. Wondering what it was Elves did for a greeting. Morys took a step back once their hands had been released and bowed slightly, though feeling foolish. "'Tis in no way pleasurable for me, though 'tis not your fault." He sighed as he straightened and looked back at the inn again and did not elaborate his meaning.
Despite the dangers of Goblin Forest, Morys knew that it would make an excellent escape route. Half turning, Morys inhaled deeply to shout to the others what he had been thinking, but stopped when he noticed the demons were not following the others as well. He raised a brow, wondering again what could be going on within the inn.
Morys jumped when the young Almerkian boy yelled and started running towards himself and the Elf, Drachon, his hand automatically moving to the hilt of his sword. When he recognized him as not being a demon, as well as noticing the others following, he relaxed but only slightly.
He waited for the others to get closer before stating, "Goblin Forest is not the safest place in our territory, but it's certainly safer than here!" He pointed to the forest that was only a few yards away from the back of the inn. "If you want to live, I suggest you follow, but be aware that we will likely be attacked by a band or two of goblins."
Realizing that whatever distraction the demons were facing was not likely to last long, Morys turned on his heel and started at a run for the forest. After breaking through the rough underbrush, Morys began sprinting. He would not get far at that pace, but he hoped to put as much distance as possible between himself and the Demons.
~~~~~

Meanwhile, inside the inn, the wall suddenly vanished and several demons fell from the sudden loss of resistance. The other demons carelessly walked over them, and the captain led the charge towards the back door of the inn.

The small group caught up to Drachon and the human, who started talking immediately upon their arrival. He was right not to waste any time; the barrier Farish had put up would not last much longer. The boy held out his arm and Chizu leapt off Drachon to perch on it.

"A goblin forest..." Farish muttered, smiling slightly. "This will be just like old times, right, Chizu?" The Wind Sprite made a sound like aggressive purring; she had a thing against goblins, after they got her bound and surrounded in the woods and were planning to eat her or something. Farish had stepped in and saved her and that was how they'd met. As long as goblins were all they had to worry about, a trip through the woods wouldn't be so bad. But Farish had a sneaking suspicion they'd be receiving more company along the way.

"Aitsu o kamitsuku iru zo! ((I'm gonna bite them!))" Chizu purred in response, excited at a chance for revenge.

Farish chuckled and set the Sprite up on his shoulders. "If we see any," he said, dashing off to follow the human man. He was fast, but at least the boy kept him in sight. He wasn't a marathon runner, but he at least had some Elven agility in him.

The man had greeted himself as Morys and shook Drachon's hand, the man even bowed slightly, but the elf could see that he somewhat embarrassed. Drachon did not mind, though he was an elf and proud of the fact, he did not carry the snobbish demeanour that was famous with his race. Just then his ears picked up what sounded to be a whistling wind, almost like speech, and he heard Farish's voice. Just then Chizu, the young boys wind sprite landed on his shoulder and seemed to smile at him. He returned the smile as he saw the young boy, the wolf anithrope, and the man from the bar come near them.

Morys wasted no time in taking command, telling them all that the next move would be to the goblin forest. Drachon felt a joy rising his chest, he has heard of the dangers of the forest, but it was a forest all the same. Morys then took off, and Farish and Chizu followed quickly in suit.The elf smirked as they took off and followed shortly behind them. The elf saw the broken path of underbrush created by the man and the young boy, but opted to take a different route.

He swiftly climbed up a tall oak tree with a familiarity which is only born out of years of practice. He climbed three thirds of the way up before leaping onto the branch of another tree nimbly. The elf took off, jumping, running, and swinging from tree to tree with a natural born grace polished with years of experience.The elf followed the path of the broken underbrush with his eyes and quickly caught up with them, he was soon keeping pace with Morys. While the situation was grim, Drachon could not help but see the sport in this. He shouted down to Morys and the boy "What do you say we make this a little interesting" He pointed at a clearing in the forest up ahead and shouted down, his tone slightly condescending, but jokingly so "First to the clearing wins, may the best elf win!" The elf went full speed, leaving a tree as soon as he touched it, with a grace that seemed almost etheral.

Kyosera Blackpaw hated the rain. It matted down her fur, stunted her sense of smell, it made it irritating and impossible to follow tracks or find game; her current goal. It was almost useless, she thought, passing by a massive tree in the middle of a small clearing, following the tracks of a deer in the mud and soaked grass beneath. She had to be quick about it or they'd disappear before she could even have a hope of finding the doe.

Sharp golden eyes roamed the forest's edge, keeping an eye out for the doe that was rather larger than she was. But it was to sell, then again. Her fur was matted down from the rainwater pouring down in sheets, the longbow in her left paw held tight. She lightly scampered out from under the tree, mantled cloak being kicked out from beneath her two paws. She twitched an ear, sharply perceiving a sound in the distance. Someone shouting?

Hog's teeth.

Shouting would scare away the game. People would scare away the game. There would likely be no food tonight then. No way to pay for another night at the inn. Damn, and she was so close too, she could almost feel it down to her sodden tail. She turned her muzzle towards the noise. Northwards, and started stalking through the wood, taking care to place a paw on a tree and examine signs of humanoid passage. She worked her jaw some, and furrowed her brow. Someone was about to get an earful.

She stepped out into the open, and looked around, her eyes going wide when she saw the elf barreling towards her.

Amei closed her eyes for a moment as she stood between two moss covered trees. The rain that had begun to fall did not bother her at all. To her there was a peace, a harmony involved with the pattern of water falling from the grey sky above. The sound of the pitter patter of rain on her grey steel armor only made the music more sweet to her ears. So she stood for several minutes before having her reverie broken by a scream.

Eyes opening she scanned her surroundings in search of the source of the scream. Her matted fur drooped over her eyes making her vision even more limited than it would normally be. Even her hearing was of little use to her in this situation, the same harmony that relaxed also dulled her senses. But that would not stop her from potentially helping someone in need. Placing her paw on the shark skinned handle of her Nodachi she drew it off her back and began a quick trot toward where she thought she heard the scream.

Despite the seriousness of her sudden quest, the beauty of this forest kept coming back to her, despite the downpour which washed over her. And so it was that she managed to wander into the clearing where a bipedal fox was without knowing before hand. She was about to call out to the women when she noticed that the foxes attention was being drug away toward the source of the commotion she was trying to find. Her feet dug into the soft soil of the forest floor as she tensed up.

"What is going on? Are you in need of assistance?" She called out to both individuals in the clearing, for the question was pertinent to them both.

Tension hung high in the air and while Sen found himself instinctively following the boy, he was calm. They were giving chase to the demons behind them, knowing they would catch up soon if they didn't have a place to escape to. "Escape..." a memory flashed in Sen's head that made him pause for a moment to reflect but just as soon as it happened he shook it off. There were more pressing matters at hand. When they caught up to the proper elf and other male, Sen simply nodded at the forest suggestion and followed the group. Goblins were easy; goblins and demons was a little trickier.

They reached the brush and immediately Sen motioned for the boy to go first following the other man and the wolf. Sen stopped to look back towards the town, nodding at the elf as he sprung past and leapt into the trees. Satisfied that they weren't being followed yet Sen broke into a high sprint after the rest of the group.

"Escape..." the word kept flashing in Sen's head. Images of a dark chamber dimly lit, a blurry figure standing off mere meters away, a bloodied knife, a dead woman in Sen's arms and an overwhelming sense of anger and panic. Sen shook off the thought again, just in time to catch up with the others nearing a clearing and they were not alone. Another antho stood in the clearing meeting the elf head on. Sen couldn't tell if they were about to battle or the elf would be more diplomatic. Either way they could handle themselves. Sen took to a tree and kept himself hidden in the shadows of the Forrest, watching the path they created for any other unwanted guests.

As their group rushed into the woods, Drachon proposed a race from the treetops. Farish smiled slightly at the idea, but did not alter his pace. The others were already faster than he and he'd used up a fair amount of his stamina already. He didn't want to risk Chizu recharging him before they were someplace safe; the sudden burst of aura before he suppressed it would easily alert any nearby demons to their presence. No, it'd be better just to recover with a good night's sleep later on, so he wasn't going to push himself into a race now and throw away the rest of his energy.

A sudden comment from Chizu made him slow down. "Hentai. Anithuropu ga kono mori ni omoidasemasen. ((That's strange. I don't remember there being any Anithropes in this forest.))"

"Anithropes?" Farish asked, slowing to a stop several yards before the clearing. "I thought this was a goblin forest."

"Asoko ni, ((Over there,))" the Sprite said, pointing a paw toward the clearing ahead. Farish turned to look and saw that there were indeed Anithropes in the clearing.

He blinked in surprise, muttering in the closest appropriation his throat could make to Sprite Speak. "Sōdesu... ((So there are...))"

After taking a moment to recover from his surprise, Farish started forward again, stepping calmly into the clearing to stand beside Drachon. "I think you take second," the boy said to him in Elvish, nodding his head toward the fox Anithrope standing feet away.

"Pardon us," he said to the two Anithropes now in the clearing with them. "We're just passing through. The town is having a slight issue with demons right now and they're probably following us. You may want to make some distance as well," He smiled in a sheepishly polite way, hoping they had neither done these people some great disrespect by violating some custom nor put them in danger by potentially leading demons to this place. For now, it was unclear whether they'd found home in this land or were just passing through as they themselves were. Better to be polite.

"Elves win against wolves in their natural habitat? this Drachon fellow is a little too confident if you ask me." Darakus thought, as he had grown up in a forest and learnt how to navigate the underbrush with ease. he began dashing through the forest darting in and out of the trees on all fours, resembling his domestic brethren in every way other than his left arm, which seemed to pulse a darker color across his scars the more excited he got. Easily passing the group and taking the lead, he made the mistake of looking back to gloat.

"You said "May the best elf win", right?" he was enjoying himself now, even if it was at someone else's expense. "Well then that technically makes me one third... oof." he had been looking behind him at his competition, and had thus hit his head on an oncoming tree branch. rubbing his head, he saw Drachon pass him along with Farish and Chizu, Morys and even Sen.

getting up and dusting himself off, he muttered yet another string of demonic swear words and silently cursed his overconfidence for good measure. If he had been paying attention though, he would have heard an exasperated sigh coming from his shadow.

"Pardon us," he heard Farish say to two newcomers on the scene who, by all indication, were full blooded anithropes. "We're just passing through. The town is having a slight issue with demons right now and they're probably following us. You may want to make some distance as well," Farish finished. "Pathetic." Darakus thought as he noticed the sheepish way that Farish's last sentence was said in. His arm was pulsing a black aura as he began yelling rather unnecessarily at his new halfling 'friend' "Slight? SLIGHT? you call half the population of Fainta on our tail SLIGHT?"

He suddenly stopped and, closing his eyes, he took several calming breaths. When he opened them again, they showed no sign of his prior outburst. Only absolute tranquility. "Sorry about that. That got a little out of hand. Did I hurt anyone?" it was as if he had done nothing, or rather, remembered nothing of what he had done from the time he hit his head to the time he had become relaxed.

"That's a lovely trail, what do you think, cap'n?" one of the Demon's asked, standing in the alleyway that their prey had been several minutes before.

The captain sneered. "You think we could find a handful of miscreants in a forest this big while travelling with a small Army? With an Elf with them, he will no doubt teach them how to make themselves scarce."

The second in command tilted his head, his gray ram horn nearly touching his shoulder. "Then, what's on your mind, sir?"

The captain glanced at his right hand man, then at the others still filing out of the inn. "Release the Riders."

"And then? Are we going to sit in this fish-stinking city until they return?" grumbled another Demon.

"Shut it! No one asked for you to cut in!" the captain snarled, but the other Demon did not even flinch. Instead, he curled his lip, showing his pointed teeth. "Do not dare question me! The Riders will find us, even if we are on water. So we will start back to our lands and the Riders will return before the few weeks travel to our continent is over."

"Aye aye, sir!" shouted the entire group, and they turned to head for the docks.

When the race was over, and the group came upon a clearing with two Anithropes, Morys joined the Elf and the human boy, before stopping to catch his breath. He leaned against one of the trees that lined the clearing, panting. The Almerkian listened to the others speak. The muscles in his legs tightened, but not painfully so, as if urging him to continue the exercise.

Morys looked back through the way they had come and noticed that much of the underbrush had been flattened in their haste. Looking back at the others, he acknowledged the two Anithropes with a simple nod to each one and said, "If you think you can take on a small Army of Demons, then by all means, join us. If not, perhaps you wouldn't mind watching over the kid," he motioned to Farish with his thumb.

That said, Morys looked up at Drachon still in the trees. "You're way of travel would be useful, my friend, if only we were all so nimble!" As if his words made him remember the sprint he had done, Morys breathed in heavily and let it out in a sigh. Afterwards, his breathing became much more even and not nearly as labored.

Morys combed a hand through his too-long black hair, as he did so, he noted how quiet the forest was. He heard no squirrel in a tree, no rabbits in the brush, no songbirds chirping. Morys hoped it was because of how loud their group was, and not because the Demons had entered the forest. Not listening to the others if they were conversing, Morys said, "We should keep moving."

The fox rubbed her muzzle, leaning to the side to peer around the legs of all the taller people there. Awesome, they left a trail too. What in the world were they even doing running around here. A sniff at the air, and a twitch of her ear, and she noticed the one hiding in the tree. She looked at the immense red creature to her left, then at the rest of the group, processing their words in silence.

She shouldered her bow, letting the string hold it across her chest. Her mantled cloak sodden. "This is no place to camp." She responded, quickly walking behind the group, and kneeling down to brush the grass a moment. "Tracks, too deep, too wide." Then her brow furrows. "Why you are running?" She asked, turning around, her common tongue broken and stilted.

She rested a hand on one of her blades, looking back up at the others. "You disturb hunt. You say demons in city?" She spat on the ground. "I say you maybe thieves. That you running because city guard trails you. Maybe big-big reward for capture."

She narrowed her eyes and looked over the group. "Demons in city." She scoffed. "Ha! Demons not be here for year."

She listened to the wolf's outburst, and checked it in her mind, staring at him and drawing her sword defensively, holding it at an angle across her body. "You crazy. You all crazy, and probably criminal."

The forest was eerily quiet and not likely to the presence of the group. Sen could see that the other man could sense this too. They were lingering too long. Sen made his way back over to the group just as the fox anithrope was making her stance on the groups presence very clear. Something didn't feel right. They should have at least heard the demons coming by now and they didn't exactly cover up where they ran off to. They needed to get moving and fast. Sen came up behind the other man and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You're right, we need to move. I say pick a destination, split the group and meet up. It might give us more time and make them have to cover more ground. Your call. And I'll stay with the boy, he comes with." Sen recognizes the importance of the boys abilities but moreover he still needs him to possibly help with his memories later. Sen then shot a gaze to the two new anithropes, namely the fox.

"Believe what you want but we aren't staying here. Either keep up or get out of our way. Makes no difference to me if a demon horde runs through you and tramples your corpse into the ground." Sens' eyes shined briefly with the same cold stare he gave the thief on the ship. Anithropes were tricky to fight as they usually were quicker and stronger than humans, but Sen was no spring daisy. He could be fast on the draw too if he needed to. Either way he let his arms hang relaxed at his sides, awaiting the next move of the group.

Amei narrowed her eyes on the fox as it walked around the group and came to the worse possible conclusion about them. Amei had come to a different conclusion and believed what they had said. She lowered her sword and let the point rest against the wet floor of the forest. The thought of demons and the fact that those in this group seemed so varied and unique intrigued her. There were a few species in the group that she did not recognize and that made her curious. And curiosity was enough to convince her to help them.

"Fox. I doubt that they are criminals just because they are fleeing into the forest. Put your anger over a ruined hunt to the side and think of it more rationally." Lifting her sword and pointing back the way she came with it she turned her attention toward the man she assumed was the leader, the one who offered a chance to join them. "The forest gets thicker that way but I have never been good at hiding. I will join you for you appear to need help."

Amei then sheathed her blade in the scabbard on her back, the movement quick and practiced. Hopefully she would be able to earn more then new experiences with this new group but she was not going to discuss payment or compensation yet with people in such danger. Besides, despite her love of the rain it was beginning to get annoying having to wipe the rain out of the hair above her eyes as it drooped down.

"Slight? SLIGHT? you call half the population of Fainta on our tail SLIGHT?" Darakus had apparently taken issue with Farish's choice of words. The boy looked back to where he was and blinked at him, cocking his head to the side. That is what I said, he thought. Panicking is the worst thing you can do in a dangerous situation.

The wolf took a moment to calm himself and apologized, asking if he'd hurt anyone. "No, you didn't," the boy answered, offering a small smile. "I'm sorry if my choice of words upset you."

The boy's attention was brought back to the conversations of the rest of the group when he heard Morys's request to the Anithropes: "If you think you can take on a small Army of Demons, then by all means, join us. If not, perhaps you wouldn't mind watching over the kid," he motioned to Farish with his thumb.

Chizu growled at Morys, offended in the boy's place. After all, who had stalled the demons for their escape? Farish just sighed. The man had been outside the tavern during the bulk of the fight and so had no idea that the "kid" was a powerful magic user. It wasn't his fault, he was just sorely misinformed. The boy was ready to speak up for himself when the bald man intervened on his behalf, insisting that he come with them. Farish smiled at him and Chizu stopped growling, directing satisfied purring sounds at the bald man.

Meanwhile, it seemed the fox woman had it out for them, spitting incriminating scenarios their way and raising her blade. When the other Anithrope tried to reason with her, her anger suddenly seemed justified. Their little stampede must have scared off any game for miles, and the eerie silence proved it. Had they not been in such a hurry, the boy would have taken more care not to disturb the wildlife. Haste and caution were two skills he simply couldn't employ at once.

The larger bipedal animal offered to help them, directing them toward thicker woods, and Chizu's ears perked up. "There's a place we can hide that way," she said. "Awayakigi ni. ((In an Awaya Tree.))" She proceeded to explain to the boy that Awaya trees were large trees with wide root structures that could be hollowed out underneath. He thought it would be a problem hollowing one out, but apparently she knew one that was already hollowed and big enough for all of them; it was in the thicker portion of the woods that the giant red Anithrope was leading them to.

"Chizu says there's a great place to hide that way," the boy offered. "A hollow under a tree-- large enough for all of us and well hidden. We won't have to sleep in the open and the rain." Honestly though, sleep was starting to sound really good to the exhausted boy.

The elf's blood was pumping with adrenaline as he raced throughout the woods, He smirked as he saw the wolf anithrope, who had taken the lead, connect with the low hanging branch of a tree and stop. Just as Drachon turned his attention back to his path, he saw a two other anithropes in the clearing of the woods. The elf halted himself,surprised at seeing the two anithropes, he would jump down to a lower branch so that he could be seen when Farish came near him and told him "I think you take second" speaking in elvish so as no one could understand.

As the Farish and the others spoke with the other anithropes, Drachon could not help but feel a shiver travel upwards from the base of his spine. Normally, even a seemingly empty wood would be alive with the sounds of the unseen wildlife, but that sound was absent, and a dark foreboding would come over the elf. The two men would have seemed to sense this disturbance as well, and suggested moving, and quickly. The elf opened his mouth to speak in agreement, but something inside of him warned against it, and he heeded it.

The fox anithrope had begun to grow agitated and began jumping to conclusions, and Drachon tensed as the anithrope drew its blade. Drachon was ready to let loose an arrow into her forehead if neccessary, but the other anithrope, one Drachon could not identify, reasoned with her and calmed her. Just then the wind sprite spoke, and Farish relayed its message "Chizu says there's a great place to hide that way, a hollow under a tree--large enough to for all of us and well hidden." The elf thought this was an excellent idea and was going to urge Farish and Chizu to lead the way, when the wind picked up ever so slightly.

The wind whispered in Drachon's ear, and the elf would have swore on his life that he heard the words of his patron goddess in those whispers. No.....wait...This slightly frustrated the elf, why? Logic would seem to dictate that finding a place to hide would be the best idea, yet Elstii was telling him to stay. Drachon took it with a pinch of salt, he must have faith in Elstii, as the goddess has never steered him wrong before. Drachon looked at Farish and Chizu and finally spoke, his normally airy, cheery voice was dim and heavy "That is a good idea, you should lead the others to this hiding spot, but I cannot join you" He would continue on before the boy could argue, speaking in elvish this time, the tone was warm, but serious "There are forces much larger then you know at work here, you may not understand yet, but you will" With that the elf took off back into the forest, vanishing into the shadows.
