Appearance: Dark tan skin and striking amber eyes, Shand stands at about 5'11 and is built like a warrior. His people wear their hair in long braids decorated with colored beads of various sizes and are usually garbed in loose natural fiber cloth clothes made to withstand heat, though due to the cold climate of Berk Shand wears boots, shirts, pants, and a long cloak made of spotted and striped animal pelts and furs foreign to those of Berk. He wears a gold necklace as a symbol of his place in the royal family.
Background: Shand is a prince of his people, born into Dunehaji royalty as a second son he was raised not to be king, but a diplomat and a peacemaker. When he was sixteen strangers in strange garb came to his land nearly attacking their royal dragons but quickly ended the conflict when the Dunehaji people saw that the strangers were dying of thirst and had lashed out in fear, taking the strangers in over a period of time Shand learned their tongue and learned of how they became shipwrecked and of their homeland of Berk and other tales of their strange dragons and perilous travels. After a few years the Dunehaji people have built a boat with the help of the stranded vikings and have set course for Berk to return these people home and have sent Shand as a diplomat to possibly make peace and start trade with those in Berk.

Background:SandWing is a SundStinger that has been raised from an egg by the Dunehaji people. As a SundStinger they are valued as a rare stead and guards used only by those born to the royal family. As a hatchling he and Shand have bonded like brothers as they have been raised together since birth and are nearly inseparable.
