Name: FreyjaDomains: Love, Beauty, Fertility, War, Wealth, Magic and Witchcraft
Family: Father: Njord
Twin Brother: Freyr
Husband: Od - Summer Sun God - Soon after their wedding, he disappeared. When Freyja found him, he had been banished and lost at sea, and had already degenerated and turned into a sea monster. Though hideous, Freyja stayed by his side and comforted him. When someone stumbled upon him as a sea monster and killed him, the enraged Freyja threatened revenge; fortunately, it all worked out as he was admitted to Valhalla and is allowed to have conjugal visits, so his death does not separate them.
Children: Gersemi (her name means "riches" or "treasure") - goddess of Beauty, and Hnoss (her name means "jewel" or "gem") - goddess of Sensuality and Infatuation
History: Freyja, along with her father and brother, came to represent the Vanir when they exchanged leaders with the Aesir. She is quite free with her favors - giants have lusted after her, and she also traded her favors to dwarfs in exchange for the magical Necklace of the Brisings, known as the "necklace of desire," made of amber and rubies.
Also associated with war, she rode to battle in a chariot drawn by two blue cats, the size of lions, who had two names each - Bygul/Hogni, and Trjegul/Thofnir, who had been gifted to her by Thor when they had been kittens. She divided the slain with Odin; half went to Valhalla and half to her hall, Sessrumnir, on Folkvang (Field of Folk). She joined, and then led, the Valkyries, so she could have first pick of the slain battlefield warriors. Most of the slain go to Valhalla, but the good-looking heroes go straight to her hall for rest and recuperation, as well as recreation. Generous and kind, she always invites their wives or lovers to come live with them. She is also called upon to comfort those why are dying on the battlefield, to ease their transition to Valhalla, serving as a guide and companion on their journey. Her armor, as well as that of the Valkyries, causes the Aurora Borealis when they ride forth.
Said to be the mistress of magic and witchcraft, she owns a falcon skin which allows the wearer to fly across vast distances very quickly, as well as enables her spirit to take the form of a bird, travel to the underworld, and come back with prophecies and knowledge of destinies.
She loves romantic music and arrangements of flowers.
Appearance: Long, strawberry blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, fair skin.
