Alright, here goes the WIP. Hoping to finish tonight or tomorrow.

Edit: Okay guys, tomorrow for real. All I have left is history. Let me know whatcha think!

Robert Vatrano | +
Name: Robert Vatrano (Human)

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Appearance: Robert has a good frame for someone surviving in the post apocalyptic world. It looks nothing like a body builder's body would, but he eats enough to retain a frame that's healthy enough to live and survive efficiently in the wastes. With no real curves or saturation in any specific part of his body frame, he carries around a pretty bland body structure; though it doesn't often matter while he's covered in gear.

Robert has eyes and hair that could be described as a dark chocolate. His hair is kept somewhat short, though very shaggy from the lack of being able to wash it combined to it being cut on his own, usually with a knife. He keeps his facial hair as groomed as he can too, though without proper tools, his beard is always relatively grown on his face.

Robert stands at 5'9, though he looks an inch or two taller when he's wearing his boots. His hands have actually retained some sort of softness as a result of usually keeping them covered. The same can't be said for his feet, which are quite callused, like most of those alive in the world. Bags can generally be seen under his eyes as a result of lack of peaceful rest.

Robert prefers to travel light over heavy. Of course, having a resourceful nature makes that very difficult and causes many tough decisions as to what is and isn't worth scavenging. His general outfit consists of his brown leather boots, blue jeans, and a red and black checkered flannel shirt with the sleeves usually rolled up. Several leather straps and pieces of armor can be seen on his body, mostly the torso. While it doesn't often stop bullets, it saves a lot of grief with lasers. He carries an old dark-beige backpack with him, where he keeps the possessions that don't fit on his person.

Personality: Robert is very weary and resourceful of his surroundings. Growing up in various parts of the world, he learned a rule to live by: You are not safe, no matter what. The weary nature he carries around keeps him from making many close connections with other sentient beings. Whether someone appears benevolent or malevolent towards him, he keeps a safe mindset, wondering what they're up to. Trust does not come easy with Robert.

Even still, he has his own moral code, and doesn't generally act against it. Robert helps those in need when he can, though it's always contingent on circumstances. In his past, he's made difficult decisions on rather or not to get involved with conflict or help those who needed him.

Robert has scavenged virtually his entire life, always looking for useful things where people have already tried to find them. It has made him adept at finding things others would consider junk at first glance. This sense in his personality leaves him constantly contemplating what is and isn't worth the space and weight in his backpack. Whether it be parts that are much more useful than meets the eye, unconventional medical supplies, or unlikely crafting material, Robert always tries to find a way to make good of whatever he can find. When it comes to prioritizing what he finds, he struggles.

Robert has a massive fondness of pre-war history and lifestyle. Whenever he finds any literature still in tact, he'll go to extreme lengths for it if need be. And when in possession of a book, he'll read it at least ten times over and take excessive notes on it before he considers selling it for a less cluttered pack. While he has such a large fondness for the world before, he has absolutely no faith or hope that anything like it will ever return, especially in his lifetime.

To say that Robert considers himself witty would be an understatement. During appropriate (and often, inappropriate) moments and conversations he'll make comments so long as they amuse him in some form. That is to say, he's somewhat sporadic on the habit. Whether he acts concerned or carefree all depends on the scenario at hand. You can expect him to act cocky on occasion.

Robert has wits, that generally overpower his intelligence. Thinking quick and finding solutions is what has kept him alive for so long. While he retains knowledge very well, he's not a naturally brained genius. Robert has learned from experience, mostly trial and error, in the wasteland. Being forced in many odd and dangerous situations, he's had to push the limits of what he can do, though it never looks good.

Skills:
S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
Strength - 5
Perception - 5
Endurance - 7
Charisma - 3
Intelligence - 9
Agility - 6
Luck - 4

Robert has never been charming in particular, which can mostly be attributed to his lack of trust in other sentient beings. While not particularity fond of robots either, he would trust something he programmed more than something that controlled itself. Because of his lack of charisma, he often chooses to travel alone in the wastes. It's easier to be quiet and avoid conflict that way, and beyond that, anything worth finding that he sees is his to keep.

Medicine - Possibly the most valuable part about Robert would be his medical knowledge and experience. Whether or not it was growing up in his early years around a surgeon mother, or just learning anatomy from bodies over the years can't be determined, and Robert himself would never say. Robert is excellent with keeping people alive under most circumstances. Being able to set joints, limbs, and bones in place with a moments notice, Robert is superb at identifying and treating ailments and wounds of all sorts. Of course, that's contingent on having the right tools available when needed.

Repair - Having book smarts has proven useful on the terminals, but only on occasion. Robert succeeds much more when it comes to physical elements. Robert excels in tinkering, whether it be with weapons, other gear, crafting various odd bobs, or even robots. The weakness to this is in physical element; he can easily tinker with a module found directly in a robot, but not so easily with a terminal.

Small Guns - Robert favors small guns. While he's fired many laser weapons, (the first weapon he shot was a laser musket) he doesn't in particular enjoy the potential damage of misfiring when it comes to laser weapons. When it comes to large guns, he faults entirely. He doesn't prefer the heavy weight in his hands, and simply has a large lack of proficiency. That leaves small firearms as his weapon of choice. Lightweight and effective, Robert has used them as often as possible throughout his adult life.

Equipment:

At present moment, Robert isn't plentiful in weapons. More often than not he abandons weapons that break if he doesn't feel they're worth taking care of. The only firearm in his possession at present moment is his .44 revolver. Robert theorizes that it comes from an old manufacturer titled "Smith & Wesson." However, the revolver has been through enough hell and repair that any logo on it is long gone. Robert takes care of this sidearm as though it was his best friend; any time it's under stress he takes good care of it. His other weapons is his hunting knife, which is eight inches in length with a trailing point. Both his knife and sidearm are properly holstered on his belt.

Robert carries around a dark-beige backpack with all of his extra supplies in it. At present moment, what lays in it include a small amount of caps, a few stimpacks, some flint, a rag, and half a bottle of vodka. Among the other precious supplies, keeps his small amount of precious ammo, hollow-point and armor-piercing included, in the backpack. Other than that, little small bits of essentials lay in there, like small amounts of water.

History: "Our code consists of only one rule: That you live with your choices." -Franklin Vatrano

Robert's family was a very ironic one, and to this day, it stumps him how his household possibly functioned on any level. Living somewhere in the radioactive wasteland of central Massachusetts just didn't have the benefits that it would have had before the war. Robert never attempted to make a go at the coast; he figured an actual ocean of irradiated water wasn't useful to anyone. Except for maybe ghouls or super mutants, if they could drink salt water.

Robert's father was named Franklin, he was a man who believed in keeping his community together and always ran to the rescue of those who needed him. Franklin, while he always had a good sense of humor, had nothing about him that wasn't righteous. Taking on that spirit of righteousness, Franklin did what most soon-to-be parents always talk about: teaching their kids as early as possible. Especially in a world like the one they lived in.

Robert's mother wasn't who you'd expect to see marry a person like Franklin. In fact, marriage alone was a rarity to see in the wasteland. Robert's mother, Olivia, was entirely different from her husband. While she didn't carry any malevolent traits, she didn't hold concern in terms of protecting her community or countrymen, but just herself and her family. She didn't hold remorse when people died, a trait that Robert himself found odd while he grew up.

Robert had a sister, about two years older than him. Her name was Brittany, but Robert grew up calling her "Ott" after a story she told about seeing a real life otter. Robert never let her live it down, as the odds of an otter being around were about the same as the odds of a Chupacabra showing up. Ott was fiercely loyal to anyone she met, this trait came to her at a very young age. Any traits she carried were stubborn and fierce. Her area of expertise, much like her father, rested in combat. Ott was very talented when it came to hand to hand combat and melee weaponry.

Robert's family had a home in a small community that was as self-sufficient as it could be. Once the community had found that it could survive on hunting and growing food, many adults in the community had ideas on what should come next. Most wanted to ensure their safety by taking up arms. Franklin, however, wanted the community to give to the wasteland, rather than to keep it to himself.

Much to Olivia's dismay, Franklin had convinced other important men and women to side with him, and join a group called the Minutemen. They were dedicated to many benevolent things, and while Robert wasn't particularly fond of his father risking so much for nothing beneficial, he did take interest in learning their history and methods.

Many years passed, but it was clear that the Minutemen were on their way to a decline. During Robert's teenage years, and his sister's young adulthood, the good days ended. Like all things in the wasteland, destruction came upon them. Raiders one day showed up at their shambled front gates. With most of their capable fighters off assisting the Minutemen, Ott and Franklin included, it wasn't difficult for the Raiders to get into the gates. Gunfire and explosives easily tore through the wood and tin, and anyone who was smart enough to know what was good for them ran. Robert was one of them.

For the first few years, Robert stuck to towns and safer areas as often as he could. His nature was not to take risks, but as days passed on, Robert didn't find any purpose to sticking close to towns. People died in many towns, just as often as in the wasteland itself. And at least in the wasteland, the supplies to survive could be found.

The next few years of Robert's life consisted of taking the nerve to take up arms and wander. Instead of scavenging and running, he learned to defend himself better as well. He continued heading west and south from his former home, not interested in learning the fate of the Minutemen or his family, as he was statistically certain that there was no chance either survived.

Eee! You finished! Aww poor Robby-Bo-Bobby baby, love him, I can't wait to see some mis-fired comments every here and there from him!

Oh my Lord, Junk's going to be hyper-critical of his doctoring, he's been muttering away to himself in my head since-- "Feck'n wasteland quacks useless gobshoites! Aye, sure ya could set an arm like that as long as ya gonna change the sight on their gun to match the ridiculous goddamn angle!"-- he'll have it in for him the moment he finds out, so I'm taking the initiative and apologizing in advance! At least until they get talking old world... don't think he's met many with much of an interest... "Fer sure! Ancient history is your best friend against raiders and rad roaches alike! Where would I be t'day without my schoolboy knowledge of what-the-Romans-did-fer-us. Perish the feck'n thought!"
-- So he says, truthfully it'll flatter his ego someone taking an interest in his era, it's like asking grampa about his war stories and how the price of things have changed! :P

Name: Jake Renfield
Image
Age: 30 years old

Gender: Male

Appearance:

History:
Jake was a Minuteman and Regulator in the past. He has military experience as a mercenary and milita. However, he isn't exactly remembered for being a team worker. He will be a soldier if needed but he is a warrior first. As a Minuteman he has learned how to fight with a sword and gun, as a Regulator he refined his marksmanship skills and has learned how to survive in even worse than normal conditions for a wastelander. He was born in 2247 to wealthy Brahmin Baron Jake (Sr) Renfield. Jake (Jr) learned how to trade and silver tongue his ways out of problems, though even back then he needed a handy gun or knife handy for raiders.
His family were mysteriously wiped out, but none of their belongings were stolen, ruling out raiders. He gave up on God and religious belief but converted first to Mormonism and then to non-Denominational Christianity, bringing him to a strong belief in redemption. Nevertheless he was a Militiaman, and then a Regulator. He lent his Brahmin and thousands of caps to the Militiamen cause, and believed in the cause of the Regulators to defend the Wastelands from Raiders.
Eventually he became restless with the constant fighting and relocated his Brahmin to Houston. He might discover what happened to his parents, brother and sister, you never know.

Personality:
Jacob Phillip Renfield is optimistic, and studious, always reading Pre-War Books, even reading outside his own fields of expertise, training in his hand to hand skills, and even playing veterinarian to his Brahmin live stock. He's also a people person, but his strong belief in redemption has led him to giving others a chance in making a better life for themselves and the world around them.

Skills:
Hand to Hand
Guns
Speech
Trade
Medicine
Melee

Equipment:
Ak-47
Katana
Ammo
Stimpacks
Med-X
Reinforced Leather Armor
Reinforced Combat Helmet

Other:

Your character looks pretty good so far, Dancer! Interested in seeing his history!

And oh boy, InindoHero. First off, if he was Minuteman and a Regulator, I presumed he moved from Boston to DC at one point? If that the case how did he bring a herd of brahmim across the country to Houston? That just seems unreasonable unless he joined a LARGE, heavily armed group.

Also, technically he should only have 3 skills in the "skills" section, that's how fallout works!

All in all, it needs some work.

Ah, I apologize. . . eh. . . Guns, Melee and Trade then. . . :/

But yes, if he's a Brahmin Baron, he can move his Brahmin pretty easily with a group like the folks who got massacred at New Zion by the White Legs.

also you left an entire section blank

we need to know what he looks like!

But those skills work. I think trade is called barter but maybe fallout 4 changed that, and it means the same thing so whatevs.

And that's fair enough! Though using a comparison with a group that was massacred, correct it might be, is amusing to me as I am a bad person.

It might be better if you edited your character sheet instead of clarifying in posts after it to fix the errors.

Also, 'Militiamen' seems like a mistake considering it was 'Minutemen' just prior.

Minutemen are still militiamen, even in 2277. ;)

Alrighty guys! I kept the history short and sweet, leaving out all my little headcanons of friends and enemies to myself. Robert is done, unless something needs to edited, in which case I'll happily comply.
