Alright, here is a list of my favorite side quests that could be interesting, and you can list your favorites, and we can plan out what we may want to do. Nothing written in stone, of course, just so we have a general idea of what's going to happen.

The Forsworn Conspiracy & Escape from Cidna Mine

A Night to Remember

Blood on Ice

Dawnguard

Civil War (I know...)

I don't know about following through on the questline, but picking up Meridia's Beacon might be interesting. And I'm sure by my character you can tell that my main favs are Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild.

For some main quests, like Elder Knowledge, we can substitute Blackreach for a more interesting location. For the start of the RP, I figured Cas could be undercover as a bard at the Sleeping Giant Inn, spying on the conversation with Delphine, and when Soren leaves either:

A. She confronts him on the road because she doesn't want the world to end and wants to help him.
B. She confronts him but doesn't tell him right away she's an assassin.
C. He is attacked and she leaps in to help, blowing her cover.
D. An idea you come up with.

Also, do you have an idea of who you want to be the client of the contract?

My memory for some of these quests is limited so I might have to embellish them a bit if we end up doing them haha
But from your list Blood on Ice was quite fun if I recall correctly, so was a night to remember and the forsworn one. I never did end up doing the Dawnguard or Civil war though. Some of my favorites where Blood's Honor, Kyne's Sacred Trials and A Blade in the Dark. I also liked those mini quests where you just helped whatever civilian with trivial things but I suppose we could just make those up ourselves.

I like the idea of them meeting like that! Perhaps a mix of A&B? Soren would be pretty distrusting if he knew she was an assassin to begin with (he's into all that honorable fighting bs and would be offended if she killed people without a 'proper' battle first lol) so not knowing would lead him to be more forgiving and eventually if she gets on his good side he might look past the assassin part when/if she ends up telling him. As for the client of the contract if we're going for a known npcs Maven could be interesting say the DB kept getting involved in her shady business and maybe ruined a deal? Or Sven/Faendal depending on the outcome of A Lovely Letter, I could see them definitely holding a grudge.

Yeah, quests don't need to be followed to the letter, that would be boring. Just as a guide. I haven't done Kyne's Trials yet, but I can try it before we do it. And Soren would have to be split up from Delphine because she doesn't need to have her nose in it yet. So either we can take a detour and do the Blood's Honor quest first, or on the way to Kynesgrove something can happen, like maybe some travelers on the road were attacked by bandits and someone in their party was kidnapped, so Soren and Casfina (Cas reluctantly) go to the hideout to save them, then go to Kynesgrove.

Hmm, Sven or Maven. That's a tough one. With Sven she would be able to blend in better as a bard friend of his, but Maven has the potential to turn into a longer questline. Maybe it can be like the Lurbuk contract- lots of different people trying to hire the Dark Brotherhood to kill Soren because of his various meddling.

The truth is definitely going to be revealed I hate when those things drag out for the majority of the story. Maybe after a few quests have been done and he's gotten used to her one of the Dark Brotherhood assassins comes to take her out because she betrayed them and that's when the truth comes out. Probably Arnbjorn so he and Soren can have a werewolf fight-off.

I think this is where we can embellish a bit, maybe the same concept as Blood's Honor except we change to location so it's somewhere along the way and instead of him having to drop off the heads at Whiterun he can just have an arrangement for a fellow companion to pick them up, all in conveniently located areas of course haha

Having a lot of people putting hits on him makes sense as well, he's definitely bumped heads with people on his travels and having the reputation as the Dragonborn will surely make him a high target, so perhaps having all sorts of people after him would be best and more hassle free. Yes! I'm all for werewolf fights! Maybe some friendly fire gets mixed in, blood and drama all the good stuff. I keep picturing like a Skyrim-esque soap opera

Overall im good with starting with that! After we've finished A Blade in the Dark we can see about the other sidequests ^^
Also I'm going to repost my character app here so I can keep track of him so he doesn't get lost in my inbox.

Full Name: Soren Stormbringer
Nickname: Ren, Dragonborn, Dovahkiin
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Height: 6'3
Race: Imperial/Nord
Supernatural Race: Werewolf

Hair: Black
Eyes: Grey
Build: Tall and toned, while he's not the bulkiest of warriors his slimmer frame add's to his agility and gives him surprising mobility despite his heavy armor. He wears steel shoulder, abdomen and shin guards to protect some of his weaker zones and lines them with chain mail and leather straps. He wears heavy armor but keeps it at a minimum and adds cloth or leather everywhere else. His fighting consists of mostly dual wielding axes sometimes aided by elixirs. He also has very minimal healing magic that he uses mostly for personal injuries when he runs out of potions.

Weapons:
    Hand Axe (x2)
    Enchanted Dagger (x1)
    Steel Sword (x1)
    Bow (x1)
    Arrows (x50)

Favorite Shouts:
    Unrelenting Force
    Cyclone
    Fire/Frost Breath
    Battle Fury

Factions
    The Companions (Circle Member)
Thieves Guild (Was in it briefly as a teenager)
Imperial/Stormcloak (Has no alliance either way)
Personality: An honorable warrior he fights to defend and for glory but does enjoy the Adrenalin from a battle. His allegiances are thin and mostly from a lack of trusting others to do something he knows he would be able to accomplish. He's generally pleasant (granted you don't meet him on a full moon or when he's had one too many ale's) and well spoken for a warrior of his caliber. If not coming off a little gruff and burly from the get go. He prefers actions over words and tends to fight first and ask questions later but nothing impresses him more than a fellow fighter. Growing up with many different races and genders he's far from discriminatory and knows not to take anyone lightly and often takes on companions he has fought before in the past as he knows how they fight. He's doesn't shy away from getting dirty or bloody on a quest but does struggle with control especially if his wolf has been caged to long. In that sense he is very much untamed.

History:
Born to a imperial ambassador mother and a blacksmith Nord for a father his early life was a very peaceful time. They settled on a small border village between Skyrim and Cyrodill where his father made a living off his metalwork and his mother took time off to raise him. Soren often helped out his father in his shop and bit by bit got a hang of making several items and by a young age was able to forge daggers easily. Things in Cyrodill where getting messy however as the Aldermi dominion threatened to invade any moment as they fought to outlaw the worshiping of Talos. Eventually the attack came and raiders began destroying villages, his parents attempted to escape to Skyrim but where caught in the crossfire and his father died trying to protect their village but luckily Soren and his mother managed to escape and took shelter in a fishing village in The Rift.

Life was tough but they made due working as fisherman, Soren began taking whatever odd jobs he could find anything that would make them extra coin even if they put his life in danger. His mother eventually grew gravely ill and passed away not too long after leaving him orphaned. An argonian couple who knew him since he moved there took pity on Soren and helped him with whatever little they could, by giving him work or a place to sleep. As he grew into a young adult Soren began getting more proficient with axes and began taking jobs such as guarding caravans or escorting people, leading him to travel throughout Skyrim and exploring every city making the odd friendship here and there or even working with the Jarl's in some instances. Eventually he was led to Whiterun where he learned of the graybeards and of the dragonborn prophecy, there he also joined the companions and became part of their circle effectively becoming a werewolf.

Currently, he's been meeting with Delphine and the surviving blades as he learns more about the dragon threat and also comes into his own abilities and responsiblitie as the Dragonborn

We can switch out the locations for the Glenmoril Coven and Lost Knife Hideout. I'll put the first post up soon, but you can take your time replying. And reposting your character was a good idea, I'm going to do it too.

Image
Name: Casfina
Age: 25
Race: Nord/Bosmer

Appearance: She has light brown skin with poofy, curly hair of the same color that she usually keeps braided, and bright blue eyes. Since her mother was a Nord, her facial features are more human, but her body more lithe like that of a Bosmer, which aides in being unseen. She is shorter than most female Nords, and is closer in height to a male Bosmer.

Personality: She can often appear uncaring, and most of the time she is, though even when she is affected by something, her face remains neutral so as to not give away her true feelings. Despite this, she is actually pretty in tune to others' emotions, and can usually guess what another is feeling. She has a sort of dry black humor that can come across as insensitive, and her deadpan sarcasm often goes over others' heads. She is reasonably intelligent and has a keen eyes when it comes to her surroundings. She sees killing as a means to an end, and to her most other people are a walking bag of meat that can disposed of if necessary. Even though she is good at it, she doesn't actually want to be a cold, unfeeling killer, she just doesn't know how to be any other way.

History: She was born in Elsweyr to a Bosmer father and a Nord mother. Her father was a mercenary, and her mother was Svargreir Windrime, a scholar and famous author on the cultures of various lands and races. Because of her parents' occupations, they never stayed in one place for too long, which granted her the opportunity to visit every country in Tamriel. She met a lot of interesting people and experienced a variety of ways to look at the world. She had a rather happy childhood, at least she always considered it so. Everything changed when she was fifteen. Her and her parents were in Stros M'kai, her father looking for work and her mother researching the Yokudan culture, when a Redguard pirate captain took a liking to Casfina. When she refused him, he killed her parents and took her prisoner on his ship. He kept her for three years, during which that time she gained the crew's trust enough for her to become an official crewmate. They trained her to be stealthy, and how to fight with daggers, all the while she was plotting her revenge.

She got her chance one night when they were all passed out drunk after a raid near the East Empire Trading Company in Solitude. She quietly darted around the ship slitting the throats of every crewmember, including the captain. With nowhere to go, she wondered Solitude for a few weeks, begging and scavenging for food. Luckily, she eventually ran into Ma'dran on the outskirts of the city, who was an old friend from her travels. Since she had limited options, he sent her on a carriage to Riften, where he hoped she could make living in the Thieves Guild. When she got there, they let her in because of her obvious talent in being sneaky, and set about training her to be a master thief. She was reasonably skilled, but after her time spent with the pirates she had trouble stealing without killing, causing her to be kicked out of the guild after only a year.

Because of this bad habit, however, she was contacted by the Dark Brotherhood. It seemed a natural fit, so she joined and soon became a master. As years went by, she was always a professional assassin, and tried to make friends with her brothers and sisters, even though Babette taught her Alchemy, so she still got contracts but was largely ignored by the others. Even though she seemed like she found the perfect fit, she was unhappy because she didn't feel like it was what she was supposed to be doing.

Quirks: She inherited a curiosity of the world from her scholar mother, and which has turned her into quite the bookworm. She hoards any books she can find, and has built quite a library in the Sanctuary. She was also taught how to play the lute by a bard when she was young, so whenever she needs to go undercover, its usually as a bard. She rarely does this, however, because of her lack of mirth and willingness to sing.

Goals: Her goal is really to have a goal. She doesn't know what she wants out of life and feels stuck.

Skills: Being an assassin, she is a master of shadows, and her ability to remain quiet unseen can be considered an art-form. Her weapon of choice is double daggers coated in poison that she made herself. She is relatively good at lockpicking and pickpocketing, but is by no means a master. She doesn't know any spells because she was never inclined towards magic, and she doesn't have any skills when it comes to armor or ranged weapons because her strategy is to slit the targets throat without them ever knowing she was there.

Oh also I forgot to mention, should we give our roleplay an official title? You had mentioned Dragons and Shadows which I like but if you wanted more suggestions hmm maybe something like Axes & Daggers, A Blade In The Dark, Dragon Hunters, Blood On Ice, Of Companions and Dark Brotherhoods etc

I wasn't going to name it after a quest, but it sounds the most appropriate, so I think I'll go with that.

I was rereading my latest and I'm not too sure about it. Does it give you enough to work with or should I rewrite it?

No worries it did! (: I wasn't sure if you wanted to time skip or not to kynsegrove so I left the ending trailing off in case you did. But if you wanted to roleplay a bit of their journey I would be down for that too!

Well, I figured we could make the side trip for Blood's Honor and just make the cave along the way, then head for Kynesgrove. (unintended pun)

For the sake of smooth story flow, it might be a good idea to work out what we want to happen in the fight here, and then put the whole thing in one post. More efficient.

Sure thing! For bloods honor even though you only need one head for the mission Soren will definitely kill all of them leaving no stone unturned. He's not much for planning and will generally go along with whatever Cas says but he might get a little antsy and accidentally set off a trap or something in one of his crazed axe swings. I don't think he'll wolf out yet instead saving it for their dragon friend in the next mission, although it'll probably happen mostly on accident as he usually never shows the wolf to a companion in fear they will attack him.
