Setting
Alternate Universe, Q1 2013. Civilization is in ruins. The virus has already wiped millions off the planet, with hundreds following each second. This stems from an earlier conflict in Q4 2012 where the UN had demanded the city-state of Tetrapolis cease and destroy several of its research. When this was met with refusal and silence, coalition forces were sent in to seize control and put an end to several facilities involved in human experimentation. What happened next was a blur of activities, what Tetrapolis revealed was its military, long believed to be mercenaries who fled the moment word of coalition forces were bearing down on the city reached their ears, consisted of highly advanced bipedal/quadpedal vehicles with surprising mobility and a dispatcher which was later revealed to be the Tesseract, a hyper computer which managed the city's forecasting, traffic and other logistic services. They were driven back, but not before the destruction of several research facilities. Tetrapolis retaliated by launching several warheads to major populations around the world. A few weeks after that, Tetrapolis began its counterattack in its quest for world dominance.

Our characters begin in a Forward Operating Base set in Afghanistan, where they have already agreed to make their desertion during a personnel transfer to Europe.

Tetrapolis
Originally formed to as a location for research to continue in an event of a global crisis and a location designed specifically to study Espers, humans born with supernatural abilities; Tetrapolis was about 20-30 years ahead in technology compared to the outside world set on an island east off the coast of Japan. At a point in history, it was granted sovereignty and became a city-state. It is known that several calculations, from weather, logistics, research hypothesis use the Tesseract hypercomputer. It was later used to designate forces during the war based on a complicated algorithm.

Espers
Humans born with supernatural abilities. Their abilities come in varying strengths, and are given a measurement based on their yearly test results as they stand a chance to improve in their abilities. The measurement is as follows:
  • 0.0
    Ability can be detected with equipment
  • 0.1 - 1.9
    Ability can be observed by the naked eye
  • 2.0 - 3.9
    Ability can be noticed by the naked eye
  • 4.0 - 5.9
    Ability can be used conveniently
  • 6.0 - 7.9
    Ability can be used as a weapon
  • 8.0 - 9.9
    Ability can present a significant threat to military
  • 10.0 <
    Ability cannot be measured, most likely able to handle the military one-handedly

Mechs
Versatile armored vehicles, meant for deployment directly inside a combat zone. They usually hold a single pilot and an AI pod and are hooked up directly with the Tesseract for coordination from the hypercomputer. While some do use treads, most are either bipedal or quadpedal, and are outfitted with booster/thrusters which grant them a higher mobility while in combat. The downside to this is that Mechs are required to be transported to combat zones, usually by airdrop or land transport since they are unsuitable for covering great distances.

The AI pods are cylindrical objects, roughly the volume for a haversack, meant to interface with the Mech and provide aid to the pilot in event that the Tesseract is unavailable or operating the Mech in tandem with the pilot. The AI pods can be disconnected manually from the Mech's circuitry in the event they are malfunctioning. The AIs are soft coded to be loyal to Tetrapolis by default.

Tetrapolis Mechs have active ESP shielding, meaning that the Mechs cannot be affected directly by Espers' abilities. For example: A telekinesis user would not be able to use his ability on the pilot inside the Mech or on the Mech itself, but he can pick up objects, with his ability, to throw them at the shielded Mech.

Virus
An synthetic virus forcefully evolved by Tetrapolis. Used as a weapon of mass destruction. Not much is known about it other than it begins to react with carbon molecules to create crystals which can alter the landscape. Not even Tetrapolis knows the true potential of the virus. It is airborne and is highly resistant to climate.

It is known that infectees display symptoms of silver crystals forming on their skin when the blood congeals from the open wounds which are caused by tender flesh.

Esper: Mustafa doesn't have any special ability except one. He is able to weaken the abilities of other people if they are near of him. He can also block or bounce small attacks directed into him, but only if such event is a consequence of using a supernatural ability. His special skills not always have a hundred percent of effectiveness. The power of Mustafa's supernatural ability is not yet stabilized.

Appearance: Mustafa has green eyes and short black hair. He is a normal-built man of average height. As an infantry soldier he is wearing a special camouflaging uniform with a bulletproof vest. He has also one semi-automatic rifle with a reserve of bullets.
Personality: From time to time he likes intrude to other people's business. He doesn't leave his friends when they are in troubles. He rewards the loyalty.
Other: Besides the supernatural powers, Mustafa has sword at one's command very well. He has one short dagger hidden somewhere in his clothes. He uses this weapon only for the self defense purposes.


MECH

Nickname: Amarok
Class: Scout / Tactical unit
Physical Description: Amarok is a robot which looks like a human, it can be also called a humanoid. The control unit is localized in a head of this machine. This place was designed for only one pilot, but it has space for a weapon, a box with tools and an aid kit. These things can be closed in special handles, so they will not fly during any movement of a robot.
This robot has an advanced control panel which reads electrical impulses generated by the brain, the pilot must only put hands on the marked places on the board. This technology allows a robot to repeat the movements of the real human, but a pilot don't do it. It is also a big advantage, because a pilot is not still linked with a machine and it is able to quick evacuation. The entrance to this machine is hidden behind a piece of metal imitating the ear.
Amarok has two pairs of arms and a very thick titanium armor with rounded shapes. This robot is able to change its appearance and formed ideal sphere. In this state Amarok is resistant even on the very heavy attacks, but it can't do anything special than return to the previous (normal) form.
Amarok can't fly, but it can jump, run and many other things like a human. It is a fast and flexible unit on the battlefield, regardless is it an open space or a city. Its armor is dark brown, other parts are gray. This robot is also waterproof, it is able to walk on the bottom of any medium deep water reservoir.
Armaments Description: All arms of this robot (4 arms) are equipped with the mechanical hands. The right upper arm has a pull out blade used to punching the not armored parts of the machines. This blade is able to generate an electrical shock which can destroy internal devices of the opponent. This kind of attack require larger amounts of power and it can't be used too often.
The left upper arm has a heavy machine gun hidden in the forearm, it is also a pull out weapon. The gun is mounted in such way that it doesn't collide with any thing wielded in this hand. When a hand holds something, the gun can't be use.
The lower arms have the rocket launchers which are pulled out from the forearms. These bullets can be remotely controlled by the robot when they are in the air.
Amarok has also a sonar used mainly in the underwater missions.
On-board AI: Z Window System. It's an artificial intelligence unit which support the pilot in doing almost every thing in a robot. It doesn't tolerate other systems of such type, it has an obsession about it. It has one big dream - to be installed everywhere, even in the mixer.
Service History: Amarok was used in many reconnaissance missions during the war. This robot provided informations about the localisation of the enemy armies and their composition. Several times it had to hiding under water and wait for a signal to attack. It had mainly the tactical meaning.

I wonder about the "Assigned Pilot" position. Should Mech be something like a vehicle or ship? If not, can it be an autonomous robot?

It can be used within the Mech. It has been noted that under strong wind conditions this ability can be highly hazardous if used correctly.

Personality: She comes across as abrasive and sarcastic. She has difficulty with placing things in the long term prospective and loathes Frank Grant. Though she may have a dislike for the man, she shows him grudging respect but can be rather uncooperative at certain times. She favors a reckless attack over a cautious advance, with the belief that the one who strikes first is the one who ends up on top.

Class: Medium/Versatile (Shock/Artillery)
Service History: Used in the defense of Tetrapolis, successful defense on the first and second assault at the Gortan Pharmaceutical Main Research Labs and cleaning up of escaped test subjects. To be sent to support a Forward Operating base in London.
Physical Description: Bipedal Mech with heavy reliance on boosters. Lightly armored, urban camo. Has head/recon modules, shoulder mounted HEAT pods. When the boosters on its back are fully ignited, they can scorch the ground behind the Mech and cause an amount of collateral damage. It has an open fist which wields a Mech-grade Gauss repeater and a Mech-grade chaingun mounted on the other arm. The entrance to the pod is from the top, from behind the head/recon module.
Armaments Description: On its head is a Scanner module which allows the Mech to receive 3d scans of the environment and enemies. The scanner module also allows for an advanced heat sensor which can be used to detect hidden hazards.

Behind the head module would be the entrance hatch which allows the pilot to enter the reinforced Pilot Capsule. Upon entry, the capsule seals itself and is lowered into the center mass of the Mech, where is reaches the interface ports where it can access the Mech's controls fully. The capsule can be ejected manually by the pilot by entering a pulling a lever into the capsule. The capsule can deploy a parachute to reduce its impact and it is built to absorb an amount of shock from the impact of landing.

A Mech-grade Gauss repeater is held in its open fist on its right arm, Mech-grade chaingun mounted on end of the left arm. On its shoulder it has a retractable/foldable Railgun Artillery module on its right shoulder which must be attached to Gauss repeater in order to function as a powerful cannon. This however requires the Mech to lock itself down to fire or be knocked down by the recoil.

On its back are six thrusters and two more on each of its feet. Each foot as artillery grips meant for gripping/digging into the ground to use the Railgun Artillery properly.
On-board AI: The name of the on-board AI is AT-661, affectionately named "Devil" for its behavior which is similar to a highly discontent person which works well with Delilah's personality, or so she claims. It is envious of the Tesseract's processing ability and seeks to outdo it.

Name: Shirou Takahashi
Gender: male
Age: 22
Esper: Teleportation, capable of teleporting in quick succession over short distances allowing for unmatched maneuverability in combat. Powerful enough to encompass his Mech in the "Jumps" though only 5-10 meter distances can be maintained in quick succession any farther or any larger amount of mass requires more time to recover between "jumps" greatly reducing effectiveness.

Appearance: 5'8" usually wearing his grey flight suit with his knife sheathed on his lower back and pistol holstered to his right hip. Wears a re breather anywhere with a risk of infection.

Personality: Calm, Stoic, and Sarcastic, Shirou is a rather quiet individual, a result of his training. Due to his upbringing he has an extreme loyalty to those appointed over him usually his direct superior and not the city itself.
Bio: Born to two of Tetrapolis's more renowned scientists Shirou's childhood was anything but normal. His parents love for science over family began to show when his esper abilities first showed at the age of 4. At the age of 5 he was taken to his parents laboratory which would become his home for the next 13 years. Over the course of these following years his parents tested the extent of his teleportation and various soldiers put him through extensive training in various forms of combat when he wasn't being experimented on. At the age of 18 he joined the cities military and quickly was placed into stealth operations where he stayed until an incident that had him removed from stealth operations and place with the main force.
Other: Mainly fights in tandem with Fenrir using his Bowie knife, a Gauss pistol and his teleportation to cause havoc amongst the enemy lines.


MECH

Nickname: Fenrir
Class: Medium/Assault
Service History: Used in hit and run operations, Fenrir was modified to work well with its pilot and brought terror to many FOBs even when it only killed a handful of soldiers.
Physical Description: Bipedal Mech with a heavy reliance on its durability to allow quick, direct strikes to break defensive lines. Moderately armored with open hands and boosters to allow short burst of speed to avoid enemy fire well charging through enemy lines. Black armor from its days in stealth operations. The opening for the pilot is in the back allowing for quick entry during combat.
Armaments Description: Mech-grade Alloy cannon and a set of Mech-grade gauss Pistols. Lacks an ejection mechanism in favor of extra armoring due to its pilots abilities. Built to shatter enemy formations in quick raids usually geared toward the enemies main lines it has had many of the normal features of a Mech of its class removed in favor of additional armor and small boosters.
On-board AI: Loki
Other: Loki's personality quite similar to his namesake. Though loyal to the city he cares more about what would be the most fun over what was best for the city. Due to this mindset he and Shirou has a tendency to get in trouble with their superiors and on one occasion the Tesseract itself, this being the reason for their being taken off of stealth operations.

@Magnus, Mechs are used as vehicles they are not exactly supposed to be companions. Thus, you must be able to operate the Mech. If you want to get an idea of what I had in mind, watch this. As such your Mech is not accepted. Alter it and inform me of the change and I will look to approve it.

No, no, no. Your Mech can function by itself but it MUST be able to be entered and controlled by the pilot, otherwise it would just be a robot familiar which is not what I had in mind. You can exit the Mech and enter buildings while the Mech remains outside to secure the perimeter, something like titanfall.

We may need a pilot and driver transporter character if anyone is up for it. The driver is the most important since he can transport all three mechs. Otherwise they will be NPCs.

Service History: This mech has seen its share of battles even though it is mainly meant for utility tasks such as supplying ammo, repairing damaged machinery or other mechs, and transportation.
Physical Description: A heavily armored bi-pedal mech with large boosters on its back that allow for swift movement when carrying literally tons of extra ammo in two large heavy-duty boxes that can be fixed onto its shoulders.
Armaments Description: Being a utility mech the armaments available or mostly for non combat purposes; The right arm is outfitted with a thermal cutter that is used for repairing or rescuing damaged mechs and/or other machines. This cutter can be used defensively as well but has very low range making it a melee weapon at best.

The left arm is fitted with a grappling hook that can pull or lift several tons. This can be used to rescue or free a mech from debris or as a mobility tool as it can help the mech scale tall structures or escape attacks rapidly.

The right shoulder is where the mech's only offensive weapon is located in the form of a large caliber Gatling gun that fires several hundred high powered rounds per minute. The accuracy is somewhat low but the fire rate and amount of ammunition available to the weapon is meant to provide cover fire or hit multiple targets with a repeated onslaught.

The mech is also equipped with a special core that generates a ballistic shield that protects against small to large caliber fire as well as high explosives for a short amount of time per use. The sheila only lasts for a few minutes and can only be triggered once every few hours, unless the core is cooled down manually by other means.

On-board AI: None, must be manually piloted.

Bio: Born in late 1900s, he witnessed the drastic change in the city's social structure after the introduction of the Tesseract, a then supercomputer used to predict the weather. He joined the law enforcement, and was embroiled in the various coverups of human experimentation facilities. He left the force and joined the military in hopes of finding something more distinct, but he could not be more wrong.

Physical Description: The Mech is at most a 5.9 meters tall, with brown and tan camo. It is bipedal, with tank treads on its "shins" to allow it to travel at greater speeds and maintain a lower profile when kneeling. Its head is a recon module for advanced thermals, 3d scanning and bioscanning. Behind the head module would be the entrance hatch which allows the pilot to enter the reinforced Pilot Capsule. Upon entry, the capsule seals itself and is lowered into the center mass of the Mech, where is reaches the interface ports where it can access the Mech's controls fully. The capsule can be ejected manually by the pilot by entering a pulling a lever into the capsule. The capsule can deploy a parachute to reduce its impact and it is built to absorb an amount of shock from the impact of landing.

It has a shoulder-mounted grenade launcher on its right shoulder. A railgun is mounted on its left arm, while its right arm is left free, often to aid in targeting with the railgun.

Just as a heads-up. If you are planning to do something which could drastically change the plot of the RP, please PM me or post it here beforehand. Likewise, I also think it is common knowledge that meta-knowledge should stay meta.

Can you point a fragment of my latest post where my character doing something irrational or improbable? Where did I use so called "meta-knowledge"? If you talk about a plan of the escape, I assumed that the characters knew about it before the meeting in the canteen. If something will be uncomfortable to you (Zen), I can delete it or replace.

Secondly, I only try to help us escape from this boring place ;) .

Having a spy among the deserters would change up the plot greatly, especially if the spy works against them actively, which he should, otherwise this plot point is irrelevant. This has to change or you have to tell me what you plan to do of it and allow me to evaluate your plan.

This post is an entry point for a big intrigue directed against Tetrapolis. Mustafa tries to gain the absolutely trust by unmasking spies. Of course the spies are false. He took the opportunity to present the deserters as the enemies.
If I reveal my entire plan, our RPG will be boring. Now you should take a decision, can I continue it or not?
