Hey all, so this will be the sign-up section as well as our OOC discussion section for this Gundam RP. Thanks for checking it out.
RULES: No God-Modding. Pretty simple, but if you have questions about a given situation, feel free to discuss with myself and/or the players you're interacting with. Along those lines, there will not be any NewType player characters, for balancing purposes, this will be for the best. Please, let's all try to stay in character. What I mean is, if you have created a hot headed character and they overhear an insult, try to react the way your character would, even if it might be detrimental to them. No killing of other PCs without first discussing it with them and them agreeing to it. I don't want to have people put in a lot of work only to have their character arbitrarily killed off. On that note, please be aware, bad things may happen to your character(s), you could get captured, interrogated and even killed (with your ok of course). My decisions will be final, so please understand that I am trying to run this RP in as fair and balanced a manner as possible, so if I make a decision that you do not fully agree with, there is a story driven reason as to why I have made that choice and not simply arbitrary rationale. Thank you for cooperating.
Posting Expectations: I will expect people to post at a minimum once per week, but if you feel like more posts are required then by all means feel free to keep going. If you do not post during a given week, please inform me via post or pm if you are intending to post. If not I will continue with a new update and your character will be NPCed until you return. I.E. If you fail to post in the middle of a battle, you could end up being shot down and captured, or worse, shot down and stranded etc.
Federation/Titans: While I have not included a specific pre-RP write up for the Titans, this does not mean that you cannot play as a Titans character if you so choose. If this is something you are interested, please send me a PM or post a msg here and we can work it out. Gundam 0084: The Embers of Zeon Setting and Character Sign Up Sheet:
The year is Universal Century 0084, those few remaining souls who fought for Zeon independence so many years ago have managed to find their way to Axis, the massive asteroid base located beyond the remnants of Side 3. The Principality of Zeon is no more and in its wake, the Federation has grown incredibly powerful, and with that power corruption has followed. Many at Axis watched the Delaz Fleet continue the battle they all once waged in the year 0083, and while it inspired fervor and kindled fires in the hearts of some, but failed to move Axis to mobilize for outright war.
The powers at Axis, contented with the modicum of power allowed to them by the Federation simply stayed their hand while the comrades of many of those aboard Axis fought and died in the name of Spacenoid Independence. With the final phases of Operation Stardust a success, the stolen colony from Side 7 impacted North America, destroying a large portion of the Earth’s agricultural land. However, this was merely a pyrrhic victory, with much of the Delaz Fleet killed in action, among them Aiguile Delaz himself and ace pilot Anavel Gato. Those few who managed to break through the Federation’s blockade in the final battle of Operation Stardust have now found themselves at Axis.
In the aftermath of Operation Stardust, the Federation created the Titans, a radical leaning and well- funded offshoot of the Federation tasked with hunting down and eliminating Zeon “radicals” as well as their sympathizers. However, even in its early stages it has proven that it is nothing more than a biased anti-spacenoid militia despite carrying the flag of the Federation. The Titans clearly have their own agenda, but to what ends they are willing to go is unknown at this time. What is clear though is that they are aggressively hunting former Zeon members as well as constantly harrying and imposing unnecessary sanction against the colonies that were or are sympathetic to the cause of Zeon. All the while, Axis does little else but watch as its own supporters are chastised and victimized by this new task force with the promise to “return true power to Earth’s hands.”
Having grown weary of inaction and falling in line to orders of those who would not take the stand they needed to, Captain Jaryk, a former ace pilot himself has decided to take what remains of his crew and commandeer an aging and soon to be decommissioned Gwazine class ship, which lacks some more modern features such as a catapault, it does have respectable firepower as well as a mobile suit hangar that can accommodate 20 units. Captain Jaryk has enlisted the help of several Papua Class Support Craft and most importantly has convinced an old war time comrade, Commander Marius Freya to join their cause, bringing with him his Zanzibar Class Assault Cruiser and compliment of 8 mobile suits. Commander Freya’s contingent of mobile suits however are dated, consisting of 4 Rick Dom II and 4 Zaku II Kai mobile suits. However, their squad leader Lieutenant Mariya Jagen is a survivor from Operation Stardust with incredible skill as a pilot and makes them a force to be reckoned with. While this guerilla force cannot be directly supported or sanctioned by Axis, they have given silent support in the form of allowing Jaryk and his rag tag band to ‘comandeer’ the Gwazine in the first place, and while Axis may offer passive support at times, they cannot be counted on for backup or supplies. Captain Jaryk’s contingent of mobile suits, as well as their pilots are more varied (these will be our characters) in both their capabilities, experiences and motivations for joining this cause. Some burn with patriotic virtue, others seek revenge, and some merely heed the siren call of war to sate their desire for combat.
The heroes of Zeon are either dead or biding their time to strike when it suits them best, it is now up to this rag tag band to continue the effort that so many of them embarked on seemingly eons ago in the One Year War. These are the Embers of Zeon.
(IF there is interest in RPing as the Federation/Titans, by all means, let me know and we can figure it out) No one will be allowed to be a NewType for the sake of RP balancing.
Character Sheet
Name:
Gender:
Age: (Ages for characters is set at a minimum of 18.)
Rank: (There will be two spots open for Lieutenant (squad leader effectively) aboard the Gwazine class battleship. There will be 3 (4 in total, but my PC will be an Ensign) spots open for the rank of Ensign, 2 per squad. And non-officer pilots may fill the ranks.
Appearance: (A brief description of what your character looks like. Does your character have any notable tattoos? Scars? Haircuts? Are they tall, skinny or fat? Do they look put together or a bit grubby? A paragraph or so should cover it. You may link a picture if you feel like that will help, but please do your best to describe your character and not just post a picture. Please let’s not use existing characters from the Gundam universe as our appearances.)
Personality: (What is your character like? Around a paragraph should do, but feel free to write more.)
History and Biography: (Give us a description of where your character comes from, and why they have joined Captain Jaryk’s rebellion. Did you fight in the One Year War at any point? Did you take part in the Delaz Fleet’s Operation Stardust just one year ago? Were you a child who moved to Axis with your family who were members of the Zeon military or supporters of its ideals? This section should be the longest and we should all work towards at a minimum two or three paragraphs. This is the most important part really, this is why your character has decided to go to war again, or perhaps if your character is younger, to go to war for the first time.)
Mobile Suit Sheet: We will be limited to Mobile Suits that are available up to the year 0084, also please keep in mind this is a fairly rag tag force, so there won’t be any crazy rare or powerful MS…At least not yet.
Model Number: Code Name: (If applicable) Manufacturer: Accommodation: (Does your mobile suit have a newer panoramic display or the standard forward facing display found on older mobile suits?)
Fixed Armament: (Anything that is built into the mobile suit. Wrist or torso mounted weapons.)
Optional Fixed Armament: Anything that is an optional weapon, but is affixed to the mobile suit itself. I.E. Leg or shoulder mounted missile pods, panzer fausts, anything along those lines.
Optional Hand Armament(s): Anything that your mobile suit carries. Beam guns, shotguns, various rifles etc. would go here. Mobile Suit Description: Describe your mobile suit, what colors are they painted in? The personal colors of your character? The colors of Zeon from the One Year War? Colors of a specialized squad? Is there wear and tear on your unit? Does it look like it is a newer unit that has just been rolled out?
Customization(s): What, if any customizations have been added to your mobile suit? Has it been painstakingly maintained to yield slightly higher performance? Has it had extra boosters added for increased top speed but shorter operational time? Have you had to use weapons other than those that initially came with the mobile suit (i.e. Do you have a Gelgoog that uses a heat saber because its original beam naginata was lost in combat). Please try to keep these custom modifications reasonable and something that would make sense for your mobile suit (Don't take a backpack reactor powered beam rifle with a mobile suit that is also amazing in close combat.)
Thanks, look forward to RPing with you guys, Krym
