Another year. Chris thought as he was one of the first to enter the Great Hall for the start of term feast. The room still housed the four legendary house tables, but everyone was free to sit where ever they wanted. It was always good to be one of first to arrive because it gave her first pick on where to sit. He usually picked somewhere in the middle of the room and held a few places for her friends, waiting for the Headmaster to start the feast. It usually started with him giving a boring speech that she hoped wasn’t too long like the previous year.

He couldn’t believe that he had made it all the way to his fifth year disguised as a boy, but he was far from finished. As much as he loved learning and doing something that would help all magical women, the thought of being caught weighed heavy on his mind. He tried to remain optimistic, but sometimes he couldn’t help thinking about all that was at risk. All he could do was hope that this year will go as smoothly as the rest. It had gotten a lot easier pretending to be a boy that the walk and talk became second nature now.

Antoine entered the great hall with a smile. He was excited to be a sixth year and knew that he had made it without being caught for five whole years. He should be able to make it one or two more years, right? Well, regardless of being caught, she had learnt so much and made her mother proud. She could do this, she knew it.

Antoine looked around for a place to sit, somewhere close to the edges of the room. He had no real friends, but it wasn't like he didn't want any, he just couldn't relate to them. Besides, he was fine without them. If someone came up to him to talk to him, he would talk to them, but he would never start a conversation, or at least that's what he wanted to think. He was really lonely.

Antoine saw someone who was vaguely familiar, a boy either his age or a year younger, and wondered if he had any good friends. Maybe Antoine could go up to him and talk. No, she didn't want to bother anyone. Antoine sighed and sat down near the middle of the great hall on one of the side tables. Hopefully things couldn't get any worse.

Oliver's eyes darted around as he entered the Great Hall. It was difficult to believe that once upon a time, both boys and girls could roam the castle freely. Now it was nothing of its former glory. Any evidence of the former Houses, founded by the Founders of Hogwarts themselves were done away. Who decided that it was such a smart decision?

Okay, okay, she conceded. Maybe she was the tiniest bit bitter. But honestly, who decided to literally roll back the clock and land them in this situation? Once someone gets a taste in freedom, they never want to return. She could only imagine how her ancestors would have been overjoyed in being able to learn magic that wasn't domestic training. Imagine that, living at home, all day, rearing children for them to either be enrolled in a place like Hogwarts, or stuck in the same situation Oliver was in now.

Not entirely similar, a small voice in her head shot back. They were right, of course. No child was casually taken away from their school at eleven, only to be disguised as a boy for seven years. Maybe even the rest of her life. She looked at her hands, ones that she had gotten used to over the course of the last six years. The hands she may need to learn to live with for the rest of her life. It was like having her identity erased entirely. No, it was.

Oliver sighed, and looked around for a seat. He was early enough, as boys behind her were running in and greeting their friends and finding seats. She was just glad that there were others with her.

Alise wanted nothing more than go to school of magic. It was shortly she was born the made it unlawful for girls to attend Hogwarts. It was horrible her family had attended for generations. It was decided she would go as a boy. Her mother cut her long blond locks short. She looked like her twin brother. She dressed in her brother’s jeans and green sleeveless shirt. She had a pair of hiking boots and wore then as the family shopped for the coming semester. She felt funny going into the boys changing room. She hand two weeks worth of boys clothes, underwear, shoes, two ties, and socks. Nothing screamed female.
Soon they were on the train to shop in town. The first stop was to purchase a wand. It took 7 tries before a wand leaped at her and tapped her forehead. “Owe, How can I wield a want that beats me?”
Nest was to purchase a familiar. She chose a female cat. She hoped it would be loyal and keep her secret. It would be nice to have another female to talk to. Then it was to the antiquated book shop. She had he list of text books. She purchased a book on healing herbs. The final stop was the magic shoppe. Here she got a cloak, a spell book on healing and magical coins. Who does not like closeup magic and she would make friends. She found a bathing suite that would hide her sex for an hour. “That would come in handy.”
Satisfied the family stopped at her favorite Italian restraint. Then it was off to the bakery for pastries, bread, and cookies. Then the candy shop was close to the train station. She purchased a large bag of candy. *Make friends sharing candy*.

Next day she said goodbye her parents and sat next her brother. “I hope people can tell us apart. House of Griffendor has housed our family for generations. I just hope you won’t give me away. I promise to be nice to you. Do not ask me to do do your homework or keep your room clean. I am not your maid”
