The sea water lapped at the rocks and poles of the docks where many ships, small or magnificent, were anchored. The evening was still young as the sun hadn’t even kissed the horizon yet. Instead, the low light cascaded through pink and orange clouds, framing the open waters from above. Melanie watched and waited while calculating the time it would take for the first star to slip from behind the darkness. The girl untied the red bandana holding back her thick curls from falling in her face. Her hand ruffled at the roots of her hair so it would fall as it naturally should. She tied the bandana around her arm for the time being.

Nearby was a large pub with a few tables and chairs out in front where pirates could sit, talk, and enjoy a drink. A gravel path wound down for a while, lined with shops for odds and ends. Ship repair shops, trading posts, and brothels were scattered about. A far ways down was a currently empty market, closed for the night. Surrounding all of it was a sparse forest and shrubbery.

Melanie sat atop a few ancient barrels of beer with her own hardly touched bottle in her hand. Her legs stretched in front of her and she supported herself with her one free, metal arm. Flesh transitioned into metal just above where her elbow would be. The joints in that arm were stiff and didn’t work well at all. Supporting herself like this was basically the extent of what she could do which is why she spent most of her time drawing maps or studying. Melanie had yet to meet a mechanic that could craft a better arm and although Maxmillion had offered to pay large sums to get top of the line technology, she had refused any gold offered to her. Not that she could find anywhere where it would be worth spending.

Melanie watched as the old captain himself jaunted over to where she was. The brute of a man had to be at least seven feet tall. He towered over to her, alcohol on his breath. “Melanie!” he bellowed, scratching his face beneath a scraggly silver beard that matched his hair, “You’ve hardly touched your drink! You should get involved; there are some handsome lads around.” Max grins stupidly, obviously tipsy, his accent thicker than it usually is. Melanie chuckled and looked past him as a crowd started to slowly congregate. A few brave, or likely drunk, pirates sung and danced to an old sailor’s melody. It was a sung in a canon and soon more people chimed in. The girl swung her legs off the barrels when Max turned to see the display. “Come on, lass! It’s not often we’re docked in a port like this,” the man grabbed Melanie’s hand and dragged her to her feet. Her hand was comically small in Max’s bear paw. She hardly had time to set down her drink before he pulled her into a quick stepped promenade. Girls in far sexier outfits partnered up with some stragglers and soon everyone was dancing as if rehearsed. Max was right, they hardly ever docked at a port like this, let alone had she danced like this before. Luckily it wasn’t difficult to pick up on and the movements were very natural as she spun from partner to partner. A laugh escaped her lips when she finally found Max again.

Melanie wondered where the rest of the crew was. She could pick out a few odd faces here or there but no one else stuck out her aside from her current partner. “You’ve still got a hop in your step, Captain!” the girl had to speak up over the singing. She grinned as her curls bounced with each step. The door to the nearby pub opened and more than a few pirates flooded out to join in. Soon she was pulled away from Maxmillion and spun to her next partner. She smiled at each person she twirled to. It was one of the best feelings to know how many people from all ends of the sea had come here. They were singing, dancing, and sharing stories. They were quite a bunch of misfits and criminals, but they had moments like these to look forward to.

The crowd was buzzing and drinks were flowing. A beautiful night to have some fun.

"Gather 'round! Gather 'round!" Eleanor shouted from behind the bar, beckoning at the ever-growing queue of pirates. She had managed to slip her way round without anyone noticing and had began pouring tankards of ale for the customers. Little did they know that the money they were paying was going into her pocket rather than to the owner.

"I haven't seen you 'round here before." One man said, taking the tankard from her and handing her some coins. He suspiciously looked her up and down, unsure of what to think.

"Er, yeah! Well that's 'cus I started yesterday, innit!" She replied chirpily, her British cockney accent strong. The man didn't look so convinced at her lie as he sipped on the froth of his ale. "...Anyway. Break time for me!" She grinned, hurdling over the counter and escaping off into the busy crowd.

She linked arms with one of the male pirates, spinning him round to the beat of the music. Her black wavy hair whipped round as she danced. Hazel eyes lit up with excitement. It wasn't everyday she could have fun, most of the time she was working on the ship. She made her way to the other side of the tavern, sweeping a glass of wine up from a table and chugging it in one.

"What are we?!" The girl shouted out to the crowd, waiting for the response: "Pirates!"

Scarlet followed a little behind the crowd of scurvy toothed men and women. Her long brown boots clacking along the ground as she made her way almost nonchalantly into the pub. Her hand was firmly on the sheathed but swaying cutlass that seemed to never leave her hip. For a brief moment, she stayed by the entrance and surveyed the sight. "Seems all the wastrels spent little time getting tipsy" she said while only half joking at her own words. Dark brown hair in its usual ponytail, she made her way through a few of the rowdy members.

"Do that side stepping to the right-" she announced defensively to one of the men as he spun and tried to link her arm with his. She herself spun not so gracefully out of the way, half cursing the man while shaking her head. "You didn't get me before, and you wont get me this time Mr. Stone!" she announced back to him, recognizing his small baby face and big black beard.

She grabbed an unmanned tankard off the counter and downed half of it just before Eleanor started her chant. The rest of the crowd going along with it, which held little surprise for her. "Pirates!, we are pirates!" went off all around her for the longest time. She managed to force her way through, and as she sat herself at an empty table to the side she raised her mug to the shouting Eleanor. "Pirates!" she half called in unison to the others.

Not unusually Scarlet sat alone and observed the scene, almost smiling. The 28 year old was not quite accustomed to the livelihood of the crew. It wasn't that she was new, or that she disliked it. She had just been thinking a lot about her life choices recently. Lots of which she knows she should regret, but doesn't.

She shook her head but once more and raised her tankard, downing it and pounding it onto the table with the resounding thud of wood on wood. "Eh Eleanor! doesn't it get chilly wearing half a shirt'n breaches all the time!" she prodded playfully. Allowing herself to be lost in the fun of the night.

Elizabeth was happy to be ashore for a while. It wasn't always that they had the chance to spend a few days off the ship and simply enjoy themselves. Sure, she had gotten some work done. She had stocked up on her herbs and bandages, as pirates were bound to always need those when they got injured or sick. After that, though, she had decided to have some fun.

After seeing a few people around - those coastal towns were great place to meet acquaintances at certain times of the year -, Elizabeth finally made her way to the pub.

It seemed to be pretty crowded, and, even though she was sober, as it was her usual, Elizabeth soon felt that she was catching the bug of all the joy and excitement. To hell with scruples, you only have one life before Davy Jones takes you, she thought to herself.

When she heard a well known voice ask 'What are we?', she let her voice join all the others that shouted 'Pirates' in response, despite not joining in the dancing. She would prefer to watch that part of the fun from a small distance.

Ross surveyed the rowdy scene unfolding before him, cowl over his head and a drink in hand. He noticed a girl pocketing the money given to her for drinks at the bar and he saw his captain dancing with one of his crewmates. He saw pirates chanting and carousing, or drinking, or stumbling. He also saw a few people that, like him, were more observers than participants in the chaos, sipping on a drink or just looking through calm, relaxed, or pensive faces. He was one of the latter, just a man sitting on a table with his feet on the bench where he should be sitting, pretending to be a part of the conversation at the table but really feeling as if he could care less about the mens' fabricated stories. He was just there because they offered him a free drink.

As he slurped up the last drop of rum in his cup, he tossed it aside and bid the men farewell. Then, feeling the speed at which he drank the liquor begin to cloud his mind, he jumped into the fray with a small grin on his face, picking up a lonely-looking lass as he strode to what roughly looked like a dance floor. She responded in kind, almost leading him over to the dance floor before they locked arms and began pirouetting across the other patrons. He caught sight of another man looking directly at him as he twirled his partner in similar fashion to Ross, and Ross took the opportunity to twirl her partner into the other man's arms as he did the same. The pirates chant came up, started by the girl who had been pocketing money for herself earlier, and Ross gave his partner a wry grin before leaning her backwards, just before she would fall over, bringing her back up, and gently leading her over to a table. He tilted his head at her before walking over to the girl who started the chant and sitting next to her.

"Drinks at a discounted price?" he asked, loudly enough to be heard over the music. He whispered the next part into her ear, "Not like I'd really rat you out for pretendin' to work here. But if you're keeping all the money for yourself, I figure I may as well ask whether I really have to give you all my money, ya know?"

It had been quite a while since Melanie had felt such excitement. With her bum arm she wasn’t often part of any action. She was kept around for her sense of navigation and wits. She often helped to advise Maxmillion on decisions for different routes. She knew which currents would bring them to ships to sink and what battles would likely be victories. She prided herself in being able to identify advantages with wind and water currents. Melanie could be very useful when she wanted to be. Of course she’s had a fair share of slipups that got the Bounty Foss and its crew in enough sticky situations. Although more often than not Melanie could follow through and secure another bought of loot for her crewmates and captain.

The young pirate found herself losing her breath from the dancing. It was no slow hymn but luckily the chanting was coming to an end. Melanie laughed again as she recognized the voice of one of her crewmembers chanting to the crowd.

“What are we?” she asked the uproarious lot.

“Pirates!” the energy-filled girl shouted in response. With a final accented beat the sailor song ended and cheering ensued. Melanie slipped away from her partner who was eyeing her hips to grab her drink again. Alcohol and excitement clung to the evening air. The girl sat at a nearby table before she could be pulled back into the chaos. Fortunately her captain didn’t come looking again to encourage any more involvement. Melanie was content with relaxing for a while as the sun set.

A shiver was sent through the girl’s body as the boats rocked from the wind blowing in from the sea. Melanie figured she ought to find something to eat before turning in for the night. Usually when they were docked the crew founded places ashore to stay, usually with a prostitute or simply with their own. After up to months of staying in cold, stuffy barracks Melanie respected that a real bed was often worth the prices. The young pirate had gotten her own room in the pub or one of the nearby inns before but she debated whether it would be worth the trouble. The Bounty Foss set sails at dawn tomorrow with or without you and she always was paranoid of falling too deeply asleep in a real bed. It was easier to map the stars from the ship as well.

A pang of hunger reminded Melanie that she hadn’t had any supper. She made her way into the crowded pub where waitresses flaunted around with trays of meats, cheeses, and citrus fruits. Tankards of beer lined the bar and tables were filling up by the minute. Melanie sat at a table with a few other faces she recognized. They were ordering food from one of the busy waitresses.

“I’ll take whatever he ordered,” Melanie nodded at the man sitting across from her. She wasn’t picky what ended up on her plate as long as it wasn’t expensive.

Eleanor had climbed onto the table mid-chant, repeating the same question 3 or 4 times and cheering at the response. She was good at getting a crowd riled up, she clapped a couple of times before hearing one of her fellow crewmates call up to her.

"I'm just givin' you all a show!" She winked to Scarlet, twirling round on the table. She wore such little clothing because she found it easier to move around in, especially when doing stealth missions. It was strange in a way, for such a boisterous personality, she was surprisingly talented at slipping into a crowd.

She jumped down off the table, taking a seat on the sofa next to it and relaxing back, feeling the alcohol she'd been drinking all day begin to take effect. She still hadn't quite mastered the high intolerance to the heavy stuff as well as some of her other crew mates.

She smiled at the man who asked her for discounted drinks, playfully punching his arm. "If ya wanted a drink, why didn't you just say so?" She laughed, standing up. "I'll get us a couple, save us gettin' up all night, innit." She added before skipping off into the crowd and making her way back to the bar. She slid across the top of the surface, landing down, grabbing two bottles of rum and tucking them under either arm. The girl tried grabbing two tankards for the pair too before she was shouted at from the other side of the bar.

"OI! What are you doing behind this bar? Put those back!" The owner called, thumping towards her with an angry expression. He didn't look best pleased, his fist clenched and teeth gritted.

"Oops! Sorry, love!" She smiled sweetly, grabbing one more bottle and running out from the end of the bar and heading over to her new companion. The man was shouting from behind her, calling thief and pointing in her direction.

"If ya want a bottle, we gotta get out of here!" She shouted to her crewmates, sprinting out of the bar and heading down one of the dark alleyways.

Scarlet almost laughed at the younger girl "What a show it is indeed!" she replied. She hadn't spent much time up and dancing, and there was less people up and about now. Though where she was sitting, the clicking and clacking of her gloved fingers on the hard wood could be heard across the room.

She observed the room closely, taking everything in, and watching all the crew members. She was quite a few years older then most of the girls on the ship, and while it might not have showed physically, it did in her mannerisms. Often Scarlet found herself watching over them, doing her best to keep them safe in her own way, almost as if mothering them. Even if it was a sub-conscious thing, it was there. She blamed her past losses for her older mannerisms and outlook on her crew mates.

Scarlet got up smoothly, warm and fuzzy from the frothing drinks. She had walked up and made an order next to Melanie, and even nudged her mechanical like arm, giving the girl a nod and smile. Scarlet hadn't even gotten her meal before seeing Eleanor in the corner of her eye attempt to steal some nice looking rum from the back. Mouth open, she stared at the clearly over intoxicated girl. "Good god Eleanor..." she chuffed, fingers bracing the bridge of her nose. As Eleanor and undoubtedly a few others slipped out of the Pub, she herself got up with a huff. "We'll, I don't know about you, but I think it'd be a good idea for at least one'a us to go watch her..." Scarlet said while once more nudging Melanie. Shaking a slightly indifferent, yet slightly amused face in the doors general direction.

She walked toward the Pub entrance, stopping by the barman first. "Here... this probably doesn't cover'er but, I ain't got much" she said while grasping the enraged man by the hand, and placing some of what little she had into his big clasp. He eyed Scarlet sharply, clearly not satisfied, but she shrugged anyway then almost jogged out the door.

She followed Eleanor as best as I could, which was probably not as hard as it should have been. "Goodness, how much did'ya drink Eleanor?" she said as she caught up, sword clanging against the building as it was sheathed.

While the ever growing amused Scarlet awaited a reply She leaned against a wall next to her, but followed whenever she moved in a different direction. After a few moments, she began shaking her head more before abruptly stopping and reached out for a bottle. "While im still here, may as well participate..." she hinted with a joking wink, hand out for a bottle of whatever the girl had gotten away with. Scarlet may not have looked it, but she had been a big drinker at a time when everything went downhill. With about 6-8 more years of experience in what she liked to call "the art" over the girls and maybe 2 years over some of the guys.

Ross grinned at Eleanor as she vaulted herself over the bar and took a couple of bottles for herself. The grin turned into a laugh as the bartender spotted her from across the room and started yelling. Ross gave the man a friendly wave from afar and chased after Eleanor as she ran past, sidestepping some of the people in his way and shoving the rest.

An arm reached out and grabbed Ross, stopping him short. Ross whirled around to see who had grabbed him and found himself face to face with a snarling stranger. Ross was sure he had never seen the man in his entire life. His breath reeked of stale alcohol.

"So, you think you can just go an' dance with my Marsie, do ya, ya git? Ya thick or something? Take my wife for a slag? I'll show you-" the man's slurred speech was interrupted with a wheeze of breath as Ross punched him in the gut. The man doubled over on the ground in pain, then ejected the foulest-smelling vomit Ross had ever gotten a whiff of in his life from his mouth. Ross gingerly bent down to pat the man's cheek.

"I hope she leaves you soon, mate, she can do a lot better."

Ross wiped his hand on a passing bush as he finally made his way over to the newly formed group, who were now passing a bottle around. He smiled again as he approached them, asking, "Why does everyone always want to fight me?"

Here was her crew, causing more chaos. Melanie debated on whether to wait for her food to come or to follow her mates. Scarlet could usually handle it on her own but that owner was notorious for holding grudges. Whatever money Scarlet had given to him was not satisfying. Melanie sighed and stood before plopping a few coins on a waitress's tray to pay for whatever she had ordered.

The owner was about to go after the lot of her crew but she stopped him and handily paid him for whatever she took.

“Please excuse my friends. When drunk anyone is prone to bad decisions,” Melanie couldn’t even pay for a room at an inn if she wanted to now. The owner seemed less angry.

Next she went to the man who was sick on the floor. Ross could be ridiculous sometimes. She swore he was asking to get into trouble. She could admit that she liked being kept on her toes by her crewmates. What was being a pirate if you didn’t have a little fun? “I’m terribly sorry for how my friend acted, I’m sure he meant no real harm,” Melanie held out her metal right hand to the man. He was stout with a bulging beer belly and whoever his Marsie was must have incredibly low standard.

The man slapped her arm away and sat up before spitting. “Ye mechanical swine, who do you think ye are?” the girl was taken aback by his increasing hostility. Soon she noticed that many eyes of the pub were on her. Melanie felt stared at, and it was all this man’s fault. Against everything logical screaming at her she knocked the pirate straight in the nose with her metal hand. “A lot more capable than you, it seems,” she spit back at him. It was unlike her to lose her temper like that, but Melanie wasn’t about to take an insult like that. There were other people with prosthetics like hers but this kind of technology scared certain pirates. From time to time you saw a man with a pegleg or metal hook for a hand but a completely constructed arm could be borderline witchcraft to more traditional folks.

She hurried out the door and around down the alley to where the rest of her crew was congregated. She snatched the bottle from Scarlet and glared at Eleanor. She wasn’t angry at her but she needed to let off some steam. “You owe me,” Melanie took a long swig of rum, “A lot, I paid off the guy you took the rum from. He would have been all over our backs. I mean I know we aren’t exactly moral people but I’d rather not have a grudge with every pirate in the seven seas,” Melanie took a breath and one last sip before handing the bottle back to Scarlet.

“Thanks for punching that bastard inside by the way,” the young girl nodded at Ross.

Eleanor had missed the drama that she had caused, already huddled in an alleyway taking sips from one of the rum bottles. She wasn't one for thinking of consequences until it was too late. Too busy having fun for all of that worrying. Besides, she was a pirate - known for being troublesome - and she just wanted to have a laugh.

"I 'aven't drank that much, Scarlet." The girl whined, handing her one of the full bottles. She'd managed to nab 3 pricey bottles of rum before she had to dash. She patted the older woman on the back, "That's the spirit!" She grinned, taking a couple more sips from her own bottle.

When Ross arrived, she handed him the other bottle, smirking proudly at herself. "I dunno, you've got that kind o' face." She teased, fluttering her eyelashes as an attempt to get away with the cheeky comment. It usually worked to her advantage. Though tonight she'd not gotten away with it as well as usual.

It wasn't necessarily her fault for the way she'd acted, she'd been amongst pirates since she was 10. She barely remembered her life before, so it was all she knew. She had often been used by her previous captain for stealing important items and poisoning enemies. She'd grown up being encouraged to cause trouble. So when Melanie turned up and scolded her, the girl couldn't help but frown.

"Sorry love. You didn't have to pay him!" She exclaimed, feeling a little victimised. Eleanor reached into her pocket, picking out some of the money she'd earned and handing it over to Melanie. "Here, that should pay for some at least." She offered, sincerity clear in her wide eyes and pouting lip.

Scarlet looked to Eleanor with more of a warm expression. "It's good luck to share a drink with'yer crew-mates" she entertained aloud.
When Ross came along with a beaten swagger, she just grinned a little. "What Ele means, is that'ya have that "swoon" face port girls love. You'know what I mean, face like a pretty boys" she said, backing up Eleanor's tease. She would've handed him the bottle, but Melanie had sped over and quickly stole a drink. After that, Scarlet was maybe a little more stingy as she took some long runs with the bottle. Only stopping after her fourth and final swig.

Spending a moment looking to the others and listening, raising an eyebrow at Melanies talk of a drunken wasteral. Scarlet couldn't do much but pat her dirt laced pants down. It had come as a quick thought to announce to the pouting Eleanor that she had paid for her theft as well, but in light of her action she kept her lips sealed.

"Look at us!" she said with an unusually wry tone for her, "Docked at shore, and instead of spending time inside the pub with most of the others, were'ere."
"Hell, at the very least. In my late childhood, a few of the guys'ed take me by the beach-side and shoot bottles with our pistols."
She took one clear look at the bottles in their hands and took a smell of the alcohol. "Admittedly though, not a great idea when'yer a few drinks in" she reminisced, holding what meager amount was left of the bottle to the man Ross.

Ross nodded towards Melanie. "Bastard barely scratches the surface," he responded, making a sputtering noise with his lips. "How does a man like that even have a wife? I've half a mind to think he was making it all up. Did he end up bothering you too, or what? Hope you gave him another boot lickin'." He was grinning now.

His focus shifted onto Eleanor as she meant to pass him the bottle. He narrowed his eyes at her before grudgingly accepting the bottle and taking a long drink. He wiped his lips with his sleeve, looked up into the sky, acting plaintive, as he listened to Scarlet join in on the teasing. He passed the bottle over to Melanie.

"Of all the people in the sea, I never thought it'd be you lasses objectifying me. I know I'm pretty, but come now, I'm not just a piece of meat for people to be getting hurt over my face." He looked over to Scarlet as she handed him the last of what was left in one of the bottles, then finished it in one quick swig.

"Truth be told," he went on, his voice adopting a more serious tone. "You're all-" he belched. "A lot prettier than me..." his voice trailed off as he went into a small hiccuping fit. "Excuse me," he said. "Might've lost track of how much I've had to drink. Anywho, I'll be back soon."

He gave Eleanor a playful shove as he walked past her, moving with a jovial nature, but noticeably less balanced than he normally was. He gave one look back at Scarlet before he turned the corner and announced, "You're goddamm right. I'm not spending any more time hiding in a dark dank alley. I'm having some more fun before I pass out."

Melanie felt guilty almost immediately. She didn’t mean to seem angry, but she was on edge and was now drinking because of it. The girl didn’t enjoy drinking all the time because it made her lose her sense of logic. What was she without that? The eldest of the bunch seemed to be letting loose more so Melanie debated whether to just head back to the ship or to stay and keep her crewmates out of trouble. The girl trickled the coins back into Eleanor’s hand while Ross bid the rest of them adieu after complimenting the other three.

Melanie had gotten a lot of offhand, drunken compliments that night. Not that she had paid any of those people attention, they were nothing more than a tad too tipsy. On the ship she wasn’t missed much when she was below deck for most of the day hours. Honestly Melanie missed the lively waves crashing brine into the hull, but the calm nighttime was more home to her than anything else.

Melanie watched Ross stumble around the corner. She wouldn’t have trusted him to do anything without some sort of supervision. The young pirate only hoped he would find himself to the ship by dawn. Part of her wanted to follow him but she knew he would likely find himself in a stupid situation she didn’t want to get involved with. All she did know is that he’d feel awfully sick in the morning.

“Just don’t go get your throat slit by some other drunk bastard!” Melanie called after him before shaking her head and sipping from the bottle he had handed her. She gave Eleanor an apologetic look, “I didn’t mean to snap at you, I just get on edge being around so many people like that,” the girl nodded back at the pub and chuckled, “It is exciting, though. Maybe I should try to get used to it.”

Melanie smiled a bit and handed the bottle she had to Eleanor, three-fourths empty. “Unless you’ve got an exciting plan, I think I might turn in for the night, amigas,” Melanie untied her red bandana from her arm and secured her hair back with it as it usually was.

"Shootin' bottles whilst drunk? Seems a bit risky if you ask me." Eleanor questioned Scarlet, unaware of the irony of her comment. She smiled at the thought of young Scarlet, having fun. Not that the woman was that old now, but she still wondered what she was like at Ellie's age.

"It's okay, love. I know you don't mean anythin' by it." The girl replied chirpily to Melanie, slipping the coins back in her pocket and giving a thankful nod. She frowned when the woman said she was turning in for the night, but didn't want to be a pest by asking her to stay. Not everyone enjoyed getting into mischief quite like Ellie did.

"I think I'm gonna check on Ross." She announced, offering the bottle to the pair of them. If neither would take it, she'd place it on the ground before heading off to follow her drunken crew mate. "Oi! Don't leave me out of the fun!" She called after him, beginning to quicken her pace to catch up.

Despite feeling the alcohol set in and a little unsteady on her feet, Eleanor wasn't ready to call it a night just yet. That would be boring.

Being the ladies man she assumed Ross was, Scarlet was sure that line might've worked on a few of the women around, at least until the belch. She had managed the last shake of her head for the night as she often did. Waving nonchalantly to Ross, she couldn't help but smile as she reached for the bottle before Eleanor and him ran off. Scarlet seemed a little serious as the two rounded the corner and vanished. Her hand holding the bottle loosely.

After a few seconds, she rose the bottle to her lips as if to drink; but instead stood straight and poured the rest of the bottle out. "Drinking like this is what brought me to where I am now" she said, eyes moving to Melanie. "I may'be tolerant of my current situation, may'be even happy, but im not going to put myself in the situation I was before" Scarlet murmured half to herself, and half to the other girl. Blinking quickly for a moment, her smiled returned. "I just sincerely hope that her'n Ross don't make any "mistakes" while out'fer some fun" she gave only a half joking wink.

"Well Melanie, I guess I'm with'ya."
Scarlet placed the bottle straight in the middle of the small alley like area, and nodded. "Be it following them two, or going back'fer shut eye, not that im in no way curious'bout them, It just doesn't feel like I could'ave as much fun as those two if I were alone with'em." She gestured one way or the other and shrugged. Seemingly not very affected by the previous beverages. She gestured to Melanie's arm, "I mean, the bar's always an option and I'm sure'ye could fair well in a good bar fight."

Ross jumped onto a stack of barrels piled up next to a house, clambering over them and onto the roof. He walked on the clay shingles with a less carefully measured step than he might've were he sober, making a fair bit of noise along the way. He quickly made his way to the gap between two buildings and judged the distance. Seemed like an easy enough jump. He tensed his legs in preparation when he heard a familiar voice calling out, and it nearly made him stumble over the edge.

"Godammit," he whispered under his breath, bracing his feet on the gutter of the roof. "Gotta be more composed." He made the jump before finally calling back, "Up here!" in the direction he had heard the scream was. As he waited for Ellie to come looking for him, he settled himself on the edge of the rooftop and overlooked the winding coast and the many port-side establishments that sprawled out before him. The rooftops always had the best view of a port and all the goings-on, and were the perfect place to plan drunken adventures. He paused at the reflection of the moon on the water for a second, feeling his throat constrict slightly with an unexpected nostalgia.

Shaking it off, his eyes fell on a group of figures running through an alley behind one of the taverns. It seemed like one person running ahead of a group of cloaked figures, and the person running away from them was knocking down every barrel and crate she found in her way to try and slow down her pursuers. They were running in his direction. Ross put a finger to his pistol, curious about the chase.

"Hurry up, Eleanor..." he muttered to himself.

It took a moment for Melanie to make a decision. On one hand she knew it would be interesting to see the trouble Ellie and Ross would get into. She almost felt the need to look after them. At the same time she didn’t want to get caught up in any more mischief as she had already lost her temper once and would definitely have a bad headache in the morning.

Melanie felt like a lightweight sometimes and alcohol didn’t always agree with her especially since she had to skip out on the meal she had ordered. The pirate wasn’t the most skilled fighter either if they got in a dicey situation. Although having the ultimate brass knuckle gave her a literal hand up on her opponents, it was easy to take advantage of her mistakes when she didn’t react quickly enough. It wasn’t like Melanie was fighting everyday since most of her time was spent mulling over maps.

“I think it best t’ head back. Don’t feel obligated to follow me, though. I don’t want t’ burden the fun,” the girl watched as Ellie fully disappeared down the alley. Melanie started to walk in the opposite direction back towards the pubs. She expected Scarlet to follow her. The pirate stopped herself before walking in front of the bustling pub they had left only a little while before. To her right was an alley that didn’t seem like a poor idea as a detour. The man she punched earlier or any of his buddies could still be inside

Before Melanie could make a decision someone darted past her and took off down towards the shrubbery and forest.

“Oi! watc-” hot on the figures trail were more than a couple cloaked pursuers. They all roughly bumped into her and she slammed into the brick wall of the alley. “Watch where you’re running!” the girl kicked out her foot and caught the last cloak. The figure stumbled but caught themself before falling completely. Melanie instantly realized her second mistake of the evening as the mystery person turned and seemed to glare up as their buddies continued the chase.

Eleanor ran in the direction she'd last seen Ross, looking around as she tried to locate him. How could a man just disappear? When he called her, she looked up, letting out a loud chuckle and shaking her head. She ran to a nearby house, climbing up the window sill before pulling herself up onto the higher level balcony. She followed behind her fellow pirate, jumping from balcony to balcony as she watched him move.

It was lucky she looked down when she did, otherwise she would have attempted to leap to the next balcony which didn't exist. She leaned back, letting out a quiet 'woah' as she regained her balance. "That was a close one!" She grinned, turning to look up at the roof above her. Shouldn't be too difficult to climb up, even slightly drunk.

The girl scrambled up onto the roof besides Ross, taking a seat next to him and crossing her legs. "You tryna get us both killed?" She asked, though her tone was light.
