The sun had just risen over the fog covered camp. The camp was usually covered in a morning fog, though today the fog was thick, limiting the vision of those who were at the camp. Though for those who ran the camp and for the one who was in touch with the gods, this was a sign that something was about to happen. What that was, it was hard to tell for anyone. They just knew they would have to keep there eyes open for any signs from the gods.

As the campers started to wake up, the cooks started to well cook. They knew that they had at least twenty minutes before anyone showed up, enough time to make a lot food. The mess hall its self was mostly ran by the campers, as it was rather hard to find cooks who were demigods, though the campers were rather good at cooking.

---------

Josh yawned softly as he sat up in his buck, stretching his arms above his head. His fingers bushing against the top of the cabin. He then slowly, and quietly climbed down from the top buck, as he didn't want to wake any of his half sisters. Who would complain to him about waking them up. Though he did wonder how he was the only male son of Odin. But he didn't have much time to think about as he had little time to take a shower and get dressed before the others woke up and kicked him out of the bathroom. So he grabbed his clothes and sword from a closest and went into the bathroom.

Josh quickly had a shower, bushed his teeth, got dress, put his sword belt on his waist and then put his sword in the sheath, then quitily snuck out of th cabin. He let out a soft sigh of relief as he got out of the cabin. "Ha, didn't wake anyone up. Time for breakfast." He said to him self, walking towards the mess hall.

Kemena had been lying awake in bed for at least a hour now. Usually, she woke up and went out. Sometimes to the training area, sometimes the dock. It all depended on her mood. Today, she did not feel like getting up so fast, and Kemena follows her heart. Her clothes laid on the floor next to her bed. She didn't always feel like tidying everything all the time. Her brown clock laid in the pile of clothes, and peering down with tired eyes, she decided it was time to wake up.

Kemena's hair was easily set up in a pony tale with a small scrunchie, except some hair falling out again. She ignored this, washed her face and went out of the bathroom to change into some new clothes. Her necklace hang around her neck again. Once her sword was set on her side, and her leather bracers was on, she went out of her cabin. Taking a look around at the morning atmosphere, she walked towards the mess hall.

-BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP-
Vernace groaned and slapped blindly at the general area of his alarm clock with the vague idea of hitting the snooze button or turning it off. Or maybe knocking it off the nightstand entirely. Whatever worked really, as long as that infernal beeping just stopped, because dear gods it was too early. It always was though, every single morning. Morning in general was just too early, Vern had decided a long time ago.

He rolled out of bed to land roughly on his feet with a thud. Nobody bothered to get out of bed quietly in the Loki cabin. The three people who occupied the building all got up at the same time anyway, give or take a few minutes spent complaining that it was too early. Vern grabbed up his things and made for the bathroom, taking with him everything he'd need. He showered quickly, ticking things off his mental morning check list one at a time. Wash hair, dry hair, make hair look vaguely not like a cotton ball, brush teeth, underwear, binder, pants, shirt, socks, boots, optional jacket, apply face, piercings in. After getting presentable, he made his way back to his bunk, grabbing his dagger to sheath at his side, and four throwing knives to hide in his combat boots, though it hadn't exactly been a secret he had them since he pinned that one butthole to the walls with them like it had been a carnival game.

The cabin door swung open dramatically, Vern stepping out shortly after to make his way to the mess hall. As he strolled through the camp, he looked side to side at the cabins he passed. With a shit-eating grin, he used an illusion on a few of the doors to make them look a few inches to the left of where they actually were. He didn't bother checking what cabins they were, but he knew he hit at least the cabins for Hodir, Odin, Freyja, and Sol. They'd probably be reaching for knobs that weren't quite there for a while. Once he got the the mess hall, he threw open the door with his usual flair. He had to make an entrance after all; You don't get anywhere in life being boring.

Cool morning dew dripped from a spur onto Milo's head as he crouched patiently in the brush. He had been for so long that he'd gone numb to the sensation. The warmth of the sun had started to drag itself up Milo's body. It was getting late. Milo took a slow breath and the world fell silent around him. A strange warmth permeated the cool moist air.

...One. A branch rustled from above.
...Two. A heartbeat fluttered.
...
Milo bolted upright with his bowstring taut and his body tensed.

The arrow whistled through the air and through the branches until it stuck with a hard thump into his target. The creature gave a pathetic raspy cry before tumbling from the tree. Milo slowly rose from his position and slipped his small reflex bow into a strap at his lower back before carefully making his way to the rapidly fading heartbeat. He crouched down and harshly wrenched the arrow from the creature’s eye. It tensed and seized for a moment before falling limp.

A quick weighing of the creature told Milo it was a grey squirrel. Milo pulled out a small knife and made quick work of skinning and packing the squirrel for later use before stowing the kill with his others and crouching down for some breakfast. After a quick meal, he packed his things away and headed for the campgrounds.

The camp was starting to stir; the soft crackle of grass, the creak of doors and the low murmurs of the of people heading towards the mess hall permeated the air. The sounds of people knocking into walls and exasperated sighs made Milo frown. The Tricksters are up early he thought before heading to the cabins.

Milo made his way through the campgrounds, making sure to crack the doors to the distressed campers’ cabins. He quickly reached the “others” cabin. The cabin was mostly empty, but there were a few late-risers that were still trying to catch a few more minutes of sleep. One of the girls made a noise in disgust as Milo past.

“Good God, your stink literally woke me up!” she whined, her eyes never opening “Go shower,” she mumbled before turning over in her bed. Milo wordlessly obeyed. He washed and pulled on a plain grey hoodie and black pants before heading toward the mess hall.

He slipped into the hall as quietly as he could manage. The people around were occupied by something, so it was easy to go unnoticed. The entire room was raised in a chorus of excited chatter. Some of the people felt irritation while others were overjoyed with something. Milo took a spot at a quieter edge of a table and placed his pack beside him before retrieving a piece of wood and slowly carving away. A girl that reminded him of his home near the sea had made him nostalgic; he’d begun carving a shell without meaning to.

Morwenna was awakened by a chorus poorly sang sailor songs, as was the tradition of her siblings - she had began to noticed - whenever anyone slept in too late. With a grunt, she lifted her head from her pillow and squinted at them.

"It awakens!" One of her brothers cheered.

Mumbling under her breath, Morwenna, with very little grace, rolled out of bed and landed with a loud thud. Unable to find the energy to stand, she dragged herself along the floor until she reached the bathroom. Taking pity on their tiny sister, her siblings hoisted her from the floor and held her up. It took her a few seconds to realise that her feet weren't touching the floor. Her siblings giggled endearingly as she pouted, some even coming over to pinch her cheeks. She was the baby of the Njord cabin, the latest to arrive and currently the youngest of her half-siblings.

Once placed back down to the floor, Morwenna stomped towards the bathroom. She washed herself quickly with a flannel. Examining herself in the mirror, she marveled at the giant tangle of hair and reinserted her seashell hair accessories.

Looking out the window, she smiled widely at the foggy weather. She loved any weather that had a lot of water in the air. Suddenly perked up by the prospects of the day, she skipped back to her room and changed her clothes. She wore a over sized t-shirt, which evidently was her mother's, and denim shorts. While the others buckled their sword belts and other various weapon holders; Morwenna simply stuck a fork in her hair, or a dinglehopper as she referred to it, and called it a day. She didn't understand the need for weapons for breakfast but you couldn't have too many forks in a hall full of hungry Norse children.

She skipped out ahead, giggling as the ground squelched between her toes, and followed the crowd towards the mess hall.

Josh didn't seem to notice the other campers as he let out another yawn. Though he did hope that Vernace would be good this morning and wait till people woke up till he started to play pranks on the others. Though it probably was already to late for that and he probably already played a few pranks on some people.

Once at the mess hall the son of Odin went and got him self a rather large try of food and then sat down at the table that had "Odin" covered into the middle of the table, which was of course meant for the children of Odin as the table was one of the largest table in the mess hall.

The son of Odin watched as his half sisters walked into the mess hall, some giving Vernace a rather dirty look as they passed him. Some giving him a shove, others making it clear they disapprove of the prank he pulled. Josh rolled his eyes and stood up, walking over to Vernace and sat down beside him. "You really should pick which cabins you choose to play a prank on. Other wise you'll end up with a sword in your chest." He said, before starting to eat again. Looking ahead towards the door that lead into the mess hall.

Kemena walked towards the table where the children of Vale usually sat at. She met an empty table, and that was not so strange, for they were only two children of Vale at the camp right now. Kemena, and her halfbrother. She turned around and sat down with her back leaned in at the table.

She noticed Milo, the blind kid, sitting alone at the end of the same table. He was doing something with his hands, again. Milo was 3 years younger than Kemena, but he had several years more at camp. Kemena did not know so much about him, other than that. She moved over and sat on the opposite side of him.
"Hey, Milo".

Vern simply laughed as the girls from the Odin cabin harrassed him over the prank, already picking a target for the next one. He grinned at Josh after his advice, which he promptly ignored, and waved a hand airily.
"Oh, they just can't take a joke. It wasn't even bad, I just made the cabin door look like it was over a few inches from the actual location. I guess they just didn't really inherit that whole wisdom part of your dad's domain. On a totally unrelated note, which one of your sisters hates bugs the most? I guess it doesn't really matter though," he proclaimed with a grin. "I mean, they'll all see it."
With that vaguely unnerving statement, he stood up and stretched. "I'm gonna go get some of those pancakes. If you hear any screaming, it's not my fault. Just a disclaimer for ya."
Sure enough, after a about a minute of Vern standing in line looking unassuming, an illusionary cockroach dropped from the ceiling over the Odin table. It landed right in the middle of his oldest sister's plate with a nice 'thwack.' A scream rang out from the table and he did his best to react appropriately, looking confused and concerned over at the two. He managed to hold back his laughter and seem innocent enough to shift the blame on another one of Loki's children, most of whom had just walked into the dining hall a minute before. Vern made his way back to the table after getting his pancakes, flopping back into his place next to Josh.
"So, when's that sword coming? I look forward to the attempt," he said with a grin and a wink.

The soft grating feel and sound of his knife against the woodblock was entrancing. The sounds around him became distant noise as his world shrunk to the small little square of quiet darkness he'd grown so accustomed to. So content but never truly still; his mind worked to place the small grooves in the shell he was designing. His memory called back images of the coast, the biting cold of the salty wind, the little shack where the adults gathered and passed out the food. It was all just memory now, but that's okay.

He was fine like this.

He was fine.

"Hey, Milo"
a voice rumbled close by. Milo was strangely caught off guard. His hand slipped and he sliced a large chunk off the carving and just barely avoided sheering the skin off his thumb. He hadn't noticed how tense his hands had gotten; they must've been shaking.

"Hello" he said as he gently placed the knife down on the table "Did you want to sit here today, Kemena? I'll move if that's what you want. This is your table after all," his tone wasn't unfriendly, but he had a feeling for how things were going to go. Still, something was weirdly different about the way she addressed him; firstly she'd bothered to actually use his name and also something about her tone didn't communicate the same venom he'd come to expect. He didn't feel any of the tension in her body that usually came about when someone talked to him.

He decided he might try something. A ruckus broke out at the Odin table. Instead of joining in on the foolishness Milo actually decided to speak his mind

"Bug illusions? Their father must be proud,".

Kemena was kind of shocked when Milo looked surprised. He was usually always on guard. Something must have occupied his thoughts so much, that he was zoned out from his sorroundings.

"You don't have to move, I don't know where my brother is. Probably early out to fight or something", Kemena informed him. Then she laughed, and looked over to the Odin table. Kemena had been tricked before by Vern. Her revenge was pretty sweet too, and easy. The children of Loki did not look too happy with her changing every alarm clock to 3 AM. She was really hoping he would leave her alone after that. So far, so good.

"They just have to hope Huginn and Muninn let that information slip, something that probably won't happen"

Morwenna had entered the scene just as the screaming started. In the confusion, she at first thought they were screaming at her - most girls were put off by her untamed appearance and muddied feet but she had never been screamed at before. Shrugging, she joined the line for food, there she heard several mutterings of 'Loki' and the realisation hit her. It had only been over a week since she arrived, and there was still so much to learn about the camp and its campers. Subtly she looked over her shoulder at the squirming girls, trying to swat away imaginary insects, and giggled quietly. She had to give credit to the children of Loki for being good at what they do.

Piling up her plate with an abundance of pancakes drowned in syrup, she contently made it over to the Njord table. It was not long until all six of them sat, hunched over their breakfast.

"Must you be a walking stereotype?" One of her brothers erupted, finally waking up after his morning coffee. "Seriously? You have a fork in your hair."

"Leave her alone, Eugene." Her eldest sister protested. Eugene was close to Morwenna's age, but took pride that he was seven months older than her. He seemed, at least in her opinion, to be in the moody stages of his teens. Everything she did irritated him and her refusal to listen made it worse. "Mora can do what she wants. Although it could do with a brush now and then." The eldest daughter of Njord delicately ran her fingers through her sister's hair but caught her ring on one of the knots. Trying to free her hand, she wrenched Morwenna's head back. The young girl squeaked and flailed as her hair was pulled. The ring was abandoned and the hand was freed. Her other three brothers snickered.

"And it's not a fork, it's a dinglehopper," she muttered to herself, patting the sore spot on her head.

With her head hurting and Eugene's aggressive mumbling, Morwenna lost her appetite. She took her plate to the wash pile station and slumped against the wall in the back of the mess hall. As an only child, she was grateful for the new siblings, and while for the most part they were kind and welcoming, they were not how she expected. Morwenna lived and breathed the sea; by comparison, her siblings seemed normal. She scouted the room. It seemed as though the demi-gods mixed quite peacefully. By random, she chose a table to sit with.

Her eyes zoned in on the brightly coloured head of a boy and his friend. In her experience, bright colours was a good sign. And the other boy seemed friendly. She scuttled over to the table and smiled politely.

"Mind if I sit here?"

Josh didn't have much time to Vern question about his sisters till he walked off to the line, though Josh could guess at to what the boy was playing at. As not to long after a loud scream came from his sister, he turned to see a cockroach running around in his eldest sister food. Though the thing disappeared once one of his other sisters crushed it.

Josh rolled his eyes and then looked to Vern as he sat back down beside him. Though the air around the two was much different, clearly Josh did not enjoy the prank. "Vern, that sword will come in due time. And when that time comes, you won't have any friends around to help you... Or it may come today when our two cabins are meant to go against each other." The boy smirked a bit, before he continued to eat. Though he didn't have long to eat till someone else came up, Josh turned to see Morwenna. Most knew her as that odd looking girl who sticks out like a sore thumb.

"Sure, have a seat. But be careful of Vern here. He's the daughter of Loki." Josh smirked a bit and looked towards the boy, before ripping off a piece of bacon.

Though as Josh waited for Verns reaction, he watched his half sister storm up towards Vern with her plate of food, she then dump it over his head. Followed by her glass of orange juice. "butthole." Was all she said, before storming off back to the line to get some more food.

Josh laughed softly, before turning towards Morwenna. "So, how can I help you?"

Vern did nothing more than **** an eyebrow at the first part of Josh's vaguely threatening statement before following it up with a sarcastic remark.
"See, I've never really expected to have any friends by my side. Given the circumstances of being, well, the amalgamation of oddities and disparaged qualities that make me who I am, I've never been one to win people over to my side," he spat, his words clipped and metaphorical mask firmly in place. He'd said too much in his retort, though he doubted anybody really payed enough attention to his actual words to use it against him.

Making a conscious shift in his mood, he plastered on a smile that didn't quite manage to reach his eyes as he turned to greet Morwenna. He'd never really talked to her before, but it was hard not to notice her given how she stuck out. She reminded him of himself, in a way due to that. It didn't take long for him to suddenly adopt a chilly demeanor when Josh called him Loki's daughter. He pinned Josh with a frigid glare for a moment before suddenly smiling unnervingly. "You know, darling, I might not be one who ends up with a sword in my chest. It'd be a shame if you were to end up with several knives in your back this afternoon when we face off," he said with a voice like ice, cold and unforgiving. "Or perhaps some monkshood might make its way into the afternoon tea," he mused. Josh had clearly overstepped a boundary with him.

Vern's rambling was quickly cut short however by a plate of food and a glass of juice, ruining his hair and makeup. He stood up with a yell of disdain before stopping and taking a deep breath. A placid look fell over his face like the calm before a storm. He turned to Morwenna and bid her goodbye, excusing himself with the need of cleaning himself up. He stalked to the door of the mess hall, turning around before walking out. He surveyed the crowd of campers in front of him, finding the one of Josh's sisters responsible for his current attire of breakfast. Finding her, he waited a moment for her to raise her glass up toward her mouth. He made a rectangle with his thumb and index fingers, then quickly rotated his hands to flip their positions on the rectangle, then repeating the motion with vertical rectangle. He smiled coldly as she spilled her juice all over herself, her vision suddenly flipped upside down and sideways.

As soon as he was out of the mess hall, his mask dropped. Tears rolling down his face, he retreated back toward his cabin at a rapid pace, already scolding himself for his lack of self control.

"They just have to hope Huginn and Muninn let that information slip, something that probably won't happen"

Milo slipped his blade in the front of his pack alongside his ruined carving as he observed the going-ons in the mess hall "You never know. I imagine magic bugs are a hot topic among magic birds," his ancestors would be rolling in their graves if they heard him say that.

"It's probably for the best though; gods aren't the best at taking bad news. They've got a bad habit of seeking revenge," as if to punctuate his statement a cacophony of clattering trays and screams erupted once again as someone dumped food on a Loki child. Things seemed to be taking a sour turn today, worse than usual even. Milo frowned as things unfolded. There was always drama but something about today told Milo that training would be especially hostile. The Loki child that left felt pretty upset, and while most everyone was reveling in their justice, Milo was more concerned about the consequence of having such a wrath-filled group of superhumans living amongst the normal population.

Maybe that's why we're in a camp, he thought as he grabbed his pack and wordlessly slipped from the table. He made his way across the camp towards the cabins. The campgrounds were always blissfully calm at breakfast; The way the cool morning mist hung in the air was always relaxing and chaos tended to be most contained when everything was still waking up. Milo made his way towards the Loki cabin at a leisurely pace. He gave three solid knocks at the door before immediately regretting his decision. No plan had been formulated in his mind! What was he going to say? Should he give him something? Milo slipped his hand into his bag and withdrew the small carving knife. Loki kids like knives. right? Milo's heart sunk as the realization had hit him that he knew nothing about this person. Vern, right? he really wished that hadn't been the first words out of hi-

"Vern, Right?" Milo scratched his head What am I doing? he scolded himself He made these problems for himself I shouldn't be...

"I was wondering if you were alright," he raised his voice a bit hoping that the words were reaching a target. Just got stuff poured on him, I'm sure he's fine, genius.

Eagerly Morwenna took a seat, her mind spun with the endless ways she could introduce herself. She made it her goal to befriend at least one of the boys from the table before breakfast hour was over. Josh's comment regarding the 'daughter of Loki' went over her head. All she saw were boys at the table. She took a brief glance around her, perhaps there was another Loki child hiding at the table. Finding no one around her, she relaxed in her seat; glad that were no additional tricksters on the prowl.

The girl opened her mouth to speak but shut it immediately as she read the mood. Vern did not look pleased. Patiently, she sat twirling her fingers in the ends of her hair, waiting until Vern and Josh cleared things between them. She began to wonder if she had chosen the wrong table; sure enough they seemed friendly and offered her a seat but there was some serious hostile vibes emitting from the pair. She gasped as the Odin girls poured their breakfast over Vern. Awkwardly she waved as he left the mess hall. Her eyes followed him through the door. She felt bad that she didn't do anything to help him.

Morwenna paused, not realising that Josh's question was directed at her. She bite her lip as she scrambled an answer.

"I'm not too sure anymore." She replied meekly. She felt bad for the boy with the colourful hair and angry at the Odin daughters. Her rage bubbled to the surface, she was never any good at hiding her emotions. "Who do those girls think they are? Entitled so-and-sos. Just because they are children of Odin doesn't mean they get to run the place and do whatever they want. I think their father would be a lot more proud if his daughters actually earned the respect of the other campers. Urgh - they make me so mad. I thought the point of coming here was that we'd be surrounded with people who understand what we're going through and make friends -- like a real camp -- not to be held responsible for our parents actions." She huffed and slammed her fists onto the table.

Raising her eyes up to meet Josh's, she immediately blushed as she realised her ranting was directed at another Odin child.
"I'm sorry. I get grumpy when I feel homesick." She fidgeted nervously and dropped her eyes back to the table. She swirled her finger in the spilled juice and made patterns with the liquid.

Josh sighed softly and watched as Vern ran out the door, he then looked towards Morwenna as she started her rant. that did bring a smile to his face as the girl forgot who she was talking to. Though she did have a point, him, and his sisters, did get treated differently since they were the son and daughters of Odin. But Josh had to set her straight about a few things before anything. So he gave her a smile and said. "Listen, around here you take your own action and deal your own punishment to those who have done you wrong. We are all meant to be strong, quick, and we are meant to hold up to some pretty high standers lift for us by the real Vikings. But i will say, Jessica took it a bit to far with doing that to Vern, and i did cross a line. Yet Vern also has to note that not everyone likes his jokes... Anyways, you're new here right? Well i'm Josh, the only son of Odin, Pleasure to meet you... fork girl." Josh said, he did feel kind of dumb for calling her fork girl, but it was the first thing he noticed. A fork stuck in her hair. For whatever reasons she had for it being there.

by this time in the morning all the campers were awake, not all were at breakfast, some were training, some at the blacksmith, others just out and about. Yet, what no one knew was that a small army was moving towards. though using the word army was a bit loose. really it was another camp, not any camp, this was camp Jupiter. The camp for children of Roman gods, each camper in full amour.

All of a sudden, a loud yell came from the trees on the east side of the camp, followed by the sound of soldiers rushing out in full gear as the metal on it clashed against its self. With the yelling came loud crashes as large rocks, arrows, and other things started to rain down on the camp, the invasion has begin.

Morwenna wanted to argue but she held her tongue. Insulting Odin's children once was enough for one day. She didn't mean to oppose but she still had an outsider's outlook on the way things are run. She was still too young and hot-headed to understand. Her mother had tried to raise her as a pacifist, she had a feeling that those teachings are not going to serve her well here.
She couldn't help but laugh at her new nickname; fork girl. Admittedly it was odd for her to wear cutlery in her hair but she didn't care. She enjoyed being considered weird or eccentric, it usually scared off the boring people. "Yeah, I'm new. And I'm Morwenna but you can call me Mora... or 'fork girl' if you really want." She replied with a wickedly wide smile. "Daughter of Njord." She confirmed as she held out her hand to him.

As their hands shook, the folly of the mess hall was interrupted by the loud yell of the invasion.
"Umm... What's going on?" She asked to no one in particular. Her sister ran to her side and tugged at her arm.
"Looks like an attack." Her sister responded, still pulling Mora away. "Come on, you can borrow one of my weapons."
"An attack? Wait... what? Weapons? You expect me to fight?"

Vern opened the cabin door, hiding behind it except for his face, his makeup already removed. He looked different without it, his feminine features showing strongly without his regular contouring to tone them down into a more believably masculine face. Once he saw it was Milo, he didn't bother hiding behind the door anymore, knowing the other couldn't see that he was in only his boxers and a t-shirt.
"Yeah, I'm Vern. I'll b-," he got out before being cut off by the sudden sound of yelling and clanking armor. His eyebrows attempted to hide themselves in his hairline as surprise took over his face. He grabbed Milo firmly by the front of his shirt and pulled him into the cabin.
"Shitshitshitshitshitshit-" he muttered rapidly. He needed his armor, but there was no time. He needed to get dressed as quickly as he could, and his eyes flicked to his juice-soaked binder, discarded on the bed. He knew he both couldn't get it on quickly enough, nor would it be easy to fight in, so as much as it pained him, he knew he'd have to forgo it. He ran to the dresser, getting on a pair of pants and pulling on his shoes as quickly as he could, before grabbing Milo by the hand and throwing open the door. He dragged Milo with him, not daring to let him go lest they get separated. He turned a corner, focusing on getting to the others, and nearly ran straight into a roman camper. Stumbling, he turned back, letting loose expletives the entire time before running as hard as he could go the other direction. At every intersection through the camp they past, he sent out illusory copies of himself and Milo running in those directions, turning right out of themselves to be as convincing as possible. He didn't stop running until they got to the mess hall.
He threw open the doors, wide-eyed and out of breath, spotting Josh and Morwenna. He finally let go of Milo's hand as he moved toward them, calling out.
"Guys, hurry up, a group of them is coming this way, we need to get out of here now. We can't get cornered in here, let's go!" he shouted.
"We need to group up with others if we can, we stand the best chances that way!"

Milo, sucked in a breath as the cabin door creaked open. The Loki child reluctant peeked out of the cabin to address him
"Yeah, I'm Vern. I'll b-,"

the pounding of ironclad footsteps and the warcries of countless people drowned out anything Vern might have said. Milo turned his head toward the sound before turning back toward Vern. He opened his mouth to say something, but Vern had already gone into action. He felt his balance shift before shuffling awkwardly forward into the room. Milo listened carefully, not only to Vern's scrambling but to the harsh sounds of the invaders. They didn't sound like adults or beasts, but they had powers. Another Camp? Why would kids be attacking us? He frowned as thoughts entered his head; none of them were good.

He prepared himself to leave the cabin when Vern tightly gripped his hand and charged out of the cabin. Milo should've been focused on the task at hand but his mind was racing. He probably would've managed to move more quickly on his own but he was too shocked to do anything but go along. After a chaotic series of twists and turns, the two of them managed to reach the Mess hall. Vern burst open the front door and hurried towards the Odins, finally letting his hand go.

"Guys, hurry up, a group of them is coming this way, we need to get out of here now. We can't get cornered in here, let's go!" he shouted.
"We need to group up with others if we can, we stand the best chances that way!"

Milo slipped his pack from his shoulder and rummaged around for a set of knives. He lifted a small dark brown satchel from his pack, "I think you'll make better use of these than I could," he said as he walked toward the Odin table. It was the best way he could say thank you at the moment. Without another word he placed the bag on the table and turned toward the open doors.
I need to get some things... if only it were darker out.

He bolted out of the doors and headed straight for the blacksmith. The dwarves were only ever awake later in the day but they always left some spare weapons out in front. Milo skidded to a stop in front of the building and audibly groaned; the weapons were all too heavy save for a single war axe planted into the grass by its blade. He quickly swiped the weapon and circled around the outskirts of the forest. The archers arranged themselves in tight rows and stopped advancing in order to avoid direct combat, but they hadn't accounted for an attack from the side. Milo charged full speed at the back line. Before they had time to figure what was happening, a powerful kick sent half the back line tumbling down. He spun hard in mid air and pushed off the back of the archer at his right, launching himself into a forward roll towards the tree line. A stream of arrows had narrowly missed their mark.

The forest was large but not incredibly dense. "Front rows one through three, hold position" A feminine voice barked harshly " The rest of you, follow me,"

Milo had already managed to perch in a tree, waiting for his moment. Clanking. Pants. Rustling. It grew louder before slowly dying down as they traveled further into the woods. Singular footsteps and a heartbeat made its way toward him. He could feel the rasp in their breathing: she wasn't used to shouting like that was she?

Another step. Tensing as she looked all about. She was nervous. She took a deep breath in. She was about to call for a regroup. She stepped on a branch.

In an instant, Milo dropped down, weapon overhead, he swung down into her head. The thunk of metal against metal reverberated among the trees. Milo retrieved the bow from her loose grip and snapped it over his knee. She's lucky this axe was dull.. The sounds of rustling and panting were on all sides. Under normal circumstances, Milo might retreat for fear of being overwhelmed, but they were in his arena now.

Turning away from Milo with a word of thanks as he left, he looked to Josh and Morwenna.
"Alright, we have to go," he said, beginning to root through the bag Milo had left. He pulled out a pair of knives and tossed them to Morwenna.
"Take these, I have my own." He reached down and pulled up the cuff of his jeans to pull the knives from their hiding spots in his boots. Now actually armed and assured that the other two knew what was happening, he turned to the door to join the fray outside. "Don't either of you get killed. Don't stay in here, there's practically an entire battalion headed this way, so get out quickly if you don't want to be cornered. If you are, I can't really do enough to help, and I'd rather not go down with you were that to happen," he stated before kicking open the door, always the dramatic one. Sprinting out of the mess hall, he left them to their devices.

It only took him seconds to find a group of roman campers and put his plan in action. In case of an attack, children of Loki were to cause as much chaos and disruption within enemy ranks as possible. Vern planned to do exactly that. Scatter the troops and disrupt the order, and their army would fall apart, so he set to his task as rapidly as he could. He focused his mind and formed illusions of a group of norse campers around a corner and out of sight of the romans he saw, then making the illusions run forward to mix into the ranks of the romans. He grinned as a melee ensued, the romans swinging at their ethereal opponents. Confusion set in as they swung weapons straight through their assailants only to hit their own troops. Infighting was only a matter of seconds to come, he knew, so he left to find another group of soldiers to throw into disarray, finding another just by turning around. Taking a different approach, he raised up his hands to make a square around the group with his fingers like a photographer sizing up a shot. He quickly rotated his hands to flip the square upside down, sending their vision into complete vertigo with the motion. Sparing not a second for the group to figure out what was happening, he formed a W with his thumb and forefinger before flipping his hands to invert the W. The motion took their vision and split it in two, then flipped each portion around, completely throwing off any ability to aim.

Creating three illusionary copies of himself to mirror his movements, he began running toward the bewildered group. With the odds now entirely in his favor, he began hacking at slashing at any exposed skin he could see, easily slipping between the few blades not engaged in combat with his illusory allies.
