She had been depressed for a while now, and when she got this way she often went out in the forest alone to get her bearings straight. The problem was when she was alone for a long time she often got a little crazy, and she had been alone for a long time. How long she didn't even know now.
Most of the time she had spent walking, walking who knows where, She was trying to escape her life which really wasn't what she wanted to have. She wanted to be a hero, either that or find someone to be the man that she had been looking for all her life. Both would be optimal.
But so far she hadn't found a sniff of either of the two.It was very disappointing for her. For earlier in her life she had found trouble and now it was drifting into boredom. She wondered maybe if something was wrong with her.
On first glance she appeared to be an ordinary elf, actually pretty plain for one in fact with blond hair kept in a ponytail and green eyes. Often more than not she dressed all in green, in fact now she was in a slightly dingy green garb that seemed to blend in with the scenery.
Speaking of the scenery, the forest that she had been walking through for days started to change. It became dark and unfamiliar, and she felt a strong feeling something was wrong.Something was very wrong indeed. But what? She looked around for the source of trouble, then shook her head. Possibly she was starting to get paranoid from being alone so long.Nothing bad ever happened here.

His steps were quick; he didn't trust this part of the forest, as the darkness that had been crawling in towards him for days was starting to press into his chest, shortening his breath and making his heart pound. Well-worn boots disappeared briefly into a flash of murky water, and his brown leather chaps were spattered with water that sprawled into dark spots on contact, but he paid no attention to such things--his eyes were on the trees ahead and his mind was on that disturbing feeling. He grasped subconsciously at the embroidered leather strap that crossed his green tunic at the chest, troubled that he felt so much that he was running from something.

A small gap in the foliage was a godsend for him; he needed to sit, to take in his surroundings, and to figure out what was wrong. As he passed the final tree into the area, which was not so much a clearing as a irregular sparseness in the surrounding trees, he was stunned: the golden sun poured clearly upon him and what had before been a mess of colors and textures became man. His hair, an almost silvery brown, draped haphazardly around the bright gray of his eyes and brushed the soft curve of his cheekbones. He had been in the forest for nearly a week now, gathering herbs and trying to find out what it was that had made the forest's jade greens turn dull and olive.

The lifeless body of a young deer was sprawled a little north of the clearing, and he examined it with a sadness that turned quickly to concern; there were no visible wounds, no signs of disease, no obvious starvation. He looked again and again and each time found nothing. A madness, a chill, climbed up his body from the fingertips that touched the carcass, and he turned back into the small pocket of sun. Sweat, previously absent despite his earlier pace and the miles of hiking off-trail he'd endured, was suddenly making tracks over his temples and down his neck. He could not name the feeling and was almost afraid to identify it.

There was a branch jutting out from a tree in the small space, and he sat upon it, bathed in the sun offered there. He needed to think.

(Oh, there are more people joining us?)

"Step away from the deer!!!" He called as he ran up behind the man. "It's a trap, don't go near it!!!" The forest surrounding them became darker and darker as he ran. He legs felt like they were gradually growing weaker by the minute. "Hey!! Get away from the clearing!!! It's dangerous, you could get killed!" It was no use. He suspected the man couldn't hear him because he was still so far away. The boy stopped to catch his breath. They were running out of time and light as the chill grew near them. It'll be all over before they knew it. He couldn't allow it.

He sighed and leaned against the tree. It got even darker in the forest area now but there was still something he could do. "Crap!" It became completely dark now. But that was just the begining of it, he had to do something now before it was too late. The boy reached into his pocket and pulled out a pendant. He held it tight in his hands and almost immediatly, the forest returned to normal. That.... was too close... He thought, sliding down the tree and on the ground in exauhstion.

(I don't see why not other people can join if they want)
She heard voices within the woods, but maybe she was hearing things. She had been alone for a long time and that affected her mind greatly. She stepped forward seeing somebody, no two somebodies nearby. She had thought she had been all by herself in this forest. It was good to see someone else there since she knew that if she didn't see someone soon she would start really cracking. Humm it seemed that her new company there was male, and from what she seen so far from males are that they are all pretty much the same. But she remembered what her friend Falamh had said and to give people a chance before judging them but right now she felt sort of grumpy. She took a deep breath wondering what was going on here, the darkness that just a few moments before clouded the forest seemed to have cleared but she still was in a non familiar part of the forest. Still something weird was going on, she didn't know how she managed to get lost here since she pretty much knew this forest like the back of her hand.
"Trap? What's a trap doing here? And why?"
She had overheard him saying that the deer was a trap, how did he know so much? Did he have something to do with it? It seemed slightly suspicious to her, but perhaps she was making too much of things. She took a deep breath trying to keep her mind in check, she didn't want these people to think she was crazy especially when maybe one of them might be the man she was looking for all this time. But she didn't want to hurry herself and make herself look like a fool again. She fell in love way too easily, and whenever she did it was always with the wrong man who could not and would not love her back. It was really frustrating her not to be able to find anyone who was interested in her. She was beginning to think that all men were either sexless or just interested in her body and that was it. Maybe she should stop thinking about love altogether, but being the way she was it was hard to do that.
Though now it seemed she had something interesting to think about, maybe something would come of this mystery that was looming over this area. It made her excited to think that maybe she would be able to do something about what was happening and that she wouldn't be so useless anymore.
