If anyone has seen Over the Garden Wall, they will know the typical setting of this rp. Old, otherworldly, and the very picture of Halloween.
It is Halloween night, and in the quiet, secluded town of Hallowton, the traditional festival of Jack o' Lanterns is underway. All people living in the town, must attend the festival every year; this is the oldest and strictest rule. Each person must light one Jack o' Lantern, and set it by the side of the main road leading from the cemetery to the town centre, after which, a line is formed, and they proceed from the cemetery, to the centre of town, where a number of stalls and activities have been set up for a town-wide party.
No one is sure what would happen if they failed to attend, because no one has failed to attend before. Until now.
For whatever reason, the characters in this rp have chosen not to attend, or at the very least, chosen not to light their own Jack o' Lantern, and they are about to find out why the ritual is so very important. They find themselves wandering aimlessly through an unfamiliar forest, the leaves on the trees still gold and red, and falling fast as the autumn in their strange new world slowly begins to turn to winter.
A sign post reads that they are now in the countryside of Samhain, a strange world, filled with monstrous creatures, all apparently living their day to day lives, in the small villages and other locations throughout the forest. At each location, the characters must find the Jack o' Lantern, hidden or heavily guarded, and light it, allowing the 'monsters' trapped there to pass freely from the world, leaving the location a ghost town.
It may sound easy enough, but, there is one particular being that does not want these spirits freed, and certainly does not want the characters lighting all the lanterns, which will allow them too to pass from Samhain and return home. This monster is extremely dangerous. If he catches you, you will become lost forever with no will of your own.
Do not let him catch you! Attachment:

To survive, the characters must make it through the forest, avoiding the monster, and make it to each location, lighting each Jack o' Lantern along the way. Once all the Jack o' Lanterns are lit, they will be free to go home.
Good luck.

Rules:
1) Don't kill other people's characters without permission.
2) Respect other people's characters/plot twists.
3) No text speech.
4) Violence/romance is encouraged, but don't go OTT.
5) Don't have your character need to be rescued constantly. But also don't make them INVINCIBLE.
6) If you want to leave, kill your character or make them leave the group.
7) Once the characters enter Samhain, there will be no modern technology. No mobile phone signal, no TV, no cars, no electricity, etc. (There is a steam train, but that's as 'modern' as it gets.)
8) There are no super powers allowed. Unless you choose to make a character who is an inhabitant of Samhain; then they may have some mild magical abilities, in which case imagination (and not making them too powerful) is the only limit.
9) You are free to join any time and have as many characters as you can handle.
10) Have fun. :)
