So, the OOC for SuperVillain Weekly. First, briefly about the universe.

The universe is similar to The Incredibles - superheroes - and villains - have been around for as long as anyone cares to remember. The battles between them take place frequently, one great battle between villain and hero siezing the world news about once a week. Somewhere in the pacific, in a tiny neutral state, lies the HQ for SuperVillain Weekly, a magazine that interviews, speculates, and observes the supervillains of the world. They have offices around the world, and most criminals read their magazines, as well as bored housewives and other people you may expect. Nations look more or less like they do in our world, with some cultural deviances as decided by the most influential heroes and villains who operated within them.

The plot:

Your character works at the biggest non-HQ office of SuperVillain Weekly, located squarely in Times Square (haha), New York city. The RP is all about the challenges and routines of someone who, despite spending all their time among criminals, has a strictly legit line of work. You write articles, attend events such as CrimiCon and the Kabal Games, drink way too much coffee on stressful days, and have futile fantasies of becoming a big shot of your own, maybe one day wearing a cape yourself. You may have one of the following positions within the company:

Appearance: Gangly and a little on the skinny side. Dan has dirty blond hair cut short on the sides. He wears rimless, rectangular glasses that often slide down his pointy nose. His eyes are light gray and narrow. When on his own, Dan very much does not care about what he wears, often going with sweatpants, flip flops, and large hoodies.
Personality: Snarky and cynical, but kind once you get him to open up. After careful consideration, Dan will be your best friend and beat everyone up who insults you - or at least make a valiant effort to. His idea of fun consists of getting mildly intoxicated and playing Cards Against Humanity and/or singing Lady GaGa loudly. Dan is a realist and existentialist in every way and has a rather dry wit.
Position in the company: Receptionist
Favourite Villain and why: Poison Ivy - in Dan's opinion, she gets it. Plants are so much better than people.
Secret fantasy: Coming from a not-very-pleasant religious community that he has long since abandoned, Dan harbors the dark wish to completely abolish religion through almost any means necessary.
Bio: Dan grew up as a Jehovah's Witness with all that it entails - a strict community with strict rules. When he at the age of 15 began to think that the guy across the street was actually quite handsome, it created a series of whole new and conflicted emotions. Coming out to his family would mean complete and utter exclusion from the community he had been a part of all his life. Hiding his homosexuality and secretly doing some research on the Jehovahs from an outsider's point of view, he began to think that unless he could be true to himself and what he was, he wouldn't be happy again.

Six years later, having gotten himself a job and being somewhat financially secure, he popped out the closet. His family was, as he expected, far from happy about it. After repeatedly being told that being gay is a sin and being begged to "come back", Dan finally had enough and left. He hasn't spoken to them since.

Hannah Schaffalitszky de Mockadel - Fearless Sissy | +: Quote:
Name: Hannah Schaffalitszky de Mockadel
Age: 20
Sex: no Female
Voice Actor/Actress: Jennifer Hale
Appearance: Short and a little chubby with childishly bright, brown eyes and a wide grin that's almost permanently on her face. Hannah has pleasantly tan skin and a shock of messy, pink hair that is often in a chaotic bun filled with pencils, chopsticks, etc. She is a big fan of tight jeans, sandals, and sleeveless tops.
Personality: Bubbly, charming, brutally honest. Hannah is instantly friends with everyone she meets and loves to gossip without ever being malicious. She very much likes teasing Dan by making terrible jokes/puns at every opportunity. Basically, she can be summed up with those patient Hufflepuffs are true and unafraid of toil.
Position in the company: Intern - basically, she's here to see how things work. She follows people around and tries to help where she can. It's practically unpaid, so she also steals all the free food she can.
Favourite Villain and why: Magneto. Why? Because do you even know how cool magnets are. Hannah doesn't think you appreciate magnets enough. She collects them.
Secret fantasy: Hannah hasn't had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Eisenhardt herself, but she would really, really love to. Maybe she stalks him a bit.
Bio: Hannah comes from a happy, pleasant, middle-class home. Ever since she was little, she's had an interest in journalism, and through some clever networking, she landed herself an internship at SuperVillain Weekly. She lives with two of her best friends in the tiniest, shittiest cheapest apartment possible, but she's never been happier.

Nathan Quill - Kee/Xeyn | +: Quote:
Name: Nathan Quill
Age: 42
Sex: Male
Voice actor: Michael Bell
Appearance: Despite being in his fourties, this man of 5'10" has not a wrinkle on his face nor a strand of grey in his bright blonde hair. He's of a healthy, athletic build and can usually be seen with a winning smile. For clothing, he wears practical but fashionable clothes, often a vest over a long-sleeved shirt. Blue eyes and neatly kept stubble frames his face.
Personality: Despite his winning appearance, Nathan can come across as something of an arse. He tends to be amiable enough, but often comes with narcissistic, condescending comments or otherwise acts like an insufferable know-it-all. He is, however, an intuitive writer and a serious critic. Poor friend, good co-worker.
Position in the company: Journalist - works the magazine's "Mad Science and Evil Genius" department
Favourite Villain and why: The Riddler - Intelligent and elegant, the Riddler is also a very generous and pleasant host during interviews.
Secret fantasy: Exposing both the Bat and the Riddler for who they really are, then run off and become a criminal mastermind himself.
Bio: Growing up in a suburban family of hardcore superhero fans, Nathan was always reading superhero magazines. However, in his teens, when he ound out his favourite superhero was nothing but a fraud, Nathan decided that the more candid villains might be a more fascinating read. Taking it upon himself to root out frauds and tell the truth about these interesting people, Nathan changed his surname and took a job at SuperVillain Weekly. He has now worked at the magazine for twenty years, and has never looked back.

Dr. Aaron "Aerosol" Andrews - Kee/Xeyn | +: Quote:
Name: Dr. Aaron "Aerosol" Andrews

Sex: Male
Voice actor: Tony jay (He's the big squid thing on the wall. The wraith is Michael Bell.)
Appearance: Tall and heavy-set. He has tan complexion and short black hair, with quite a bit of grey. His eyes are a bright green, and some wrinkles can be seen on his face. He dresses in fancy suits and carries himself with great dignity and purpose.
Personality: Authoritarian, impatient, and meticulous. He's polite, but never warm, and can be roused to intense anger. His sense of humour is pitch black, but if you manage against all odds to make him like you, you'll find a friend no less loyal than most. His sole redeeming quality is is uncompromising attention for his employees. Should an employee get in trouble with the law - or a supervillain - Dr. Andrews will stop at absolutely nothing to get them promptly out of it. It is this quality that allows him to run the fringe business that he does.
Position in the company: CEO and Founder
Favourite Villain and why: At this point in time, Dr. Andrews' favourite villain Lex Luthor, because he is a businessman like himself and they are share a bond of mutual respect that he's fnd of.
Secret fantasy: Recovering from his injuries and once again take to the world stage.
Bio: Little is known about Dr. Andrews' past, but he was once a supervillain known as Dr. Aerosol, for his penchant with using airborne chemical weapons for his attacks. After (now deceased) superhero cracked his gas mask in a fight, however, he's been facing migraines whenever he inhales the fumes that are the result of his science, and he's never been in quite the same physical shape. After being so crippled, Dr. Aerosol decided to use his old contacts and his large cash pool to found SuperVillain Weekly, a job he now cherishes almost as much as he did his old.

Personality: He is a man of many talents... and by many I mean one. He can fix almost any Tech problem, and has the PHD to prove it. He is usually found bragging about things he can never actually do. he is a Geek in every sense of the word and has a collection of Sci-Fi trinkets adorning his desk as well as an out of place "Easy Button". he isn't clumsy by any means, but his Geek nature seems to be in the way of him making any real friends. He gladly chats with the ones he does make on breaks or while fixing things for them, and is adament to keep to the saying "Nothing we say leaves this room" therefore knowing a few things about some people that others don't.
Position in the company: his official title is the head of the IT department. However he is usually seen fixing the PCs and/or other appliances around the office (mainly the coffee maker).
Favorite Villain and why: Cyborg Superman. cause who doesn't love Kryptonian Tech? (and please don't remind him the guy's a fraud(jk... remind him all you want for laughs))
Secret fantasy: Create the worlds most unstoppable Virus and take over New York
Bio: He also seems to never be able to break anything when he tries(too weak physically) and cannot program anything harmful, but can fix programs like a boss
Voice actor: William Shatner (Captain James T. Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise)

Favorite Villain and Why: Charlie loves Harley Quinn, because she wasn't driven insane because of something good. She was actually abused to insanity, and Charlie thinks she's super adorable.
Secret Fantasy: Is to actually become a super villain like Harley Quinn. Other than that, she doesn't have any secret fantasies, unless they're naughty. She actually wants to have an intern
Bio: Charlie lives in a small apartment a few blocks away from the company with her small black cat Midnight. She's currently looking for a roommate, she is a secret hopeless romantic and would love to have somebody to herself. Charlie graduated from college for photography and got a job at SuperVillain Weekly. She can be a real klutz but her true flaw is that she is very eccentric. She often confuses people at times without even knowing about it and always somehow seems to find herself awkward situations. In short.... Charlie is a very strange girl.

A comedy ain't a comedy without flawed characters. Try to add a minus to her personality, to spark some curious conflicts. Beyond that, you're good. We have one brutally honest, one snarking cynic, and one condescending narcissist. Try to throw another into the mix!

Well, while they can certainly lead to antics, there's little to say about conflicts between characters. Besides, there's only so clumsy you can play as a photographer before it becomes improbable that she'd keep her job. Being clumsy is good - absolutely - but I don't feel it as quite a personality flaw. :(

As a rule, when I establish a roleplay, I give guidelines, but never specifics - unless a "yes/no" question is asked to me directly. This is your character, and it is your ideas I wanna see here. If you want a pointer, though, you can google "Roleplay demeanour" for ideas, and apply one you think works! There are tons of options out there.

This magazine is perhaps the only thing that no supervillain in the world would ever target for fear of reprecussion from heroes and villains alike. It's a journalistic Switzerland. So might want to amend that bit. Otherwise, you're good to go!
